Leonardo

Hello everyone,

Today I would like to show you a little canvas that I made for Katzelkraft

The canvas was painted with Dylusions acrylic paints. I used an old credit card to scrape it on. When this had dried I used a stencil and some model paste to add some texture in the left top corner and the right bottom corner. I took this onto the edge too as you can see in the photo below. The white model paste was coloured with lime green mica powder and water.

I inked the edges with Archival Ink by just rubbing it along all the edges.

The images were stamped on tissue paper. This gives the best results as stamping on canvas is very difficult. The images were clear embossed after stamping and cut out.
I adhered them to the canvas using gel medium.
Lastly I did some background stamping and used an old creditcard and black paint to make the black stripes.

I used the following stamps:

Just for you

Hello everyone,

Another Wednesday, another Challenge over at the Stampotique Designers' Challenge. It is the lovely Sam who decided on the theme of Polkadots and this is what she said :

I included polka dots in a previous challenge and everyone who took part seemed to have such fun, I thought we could revisit them :) Have fun!

I made a card this week :

The background was made with purple and blue Brusho's and gesso. Next I used two stencils and added the polkadots. The small ones are done with white ink, the blue ones with embossing ink and blue embossing powder. The next this was some background stamping, not too much as there was so much going on already. I did doodle around the card with a black pen to add a border.
Next I stamped the little monster and coloured him with Copic Markers; I then cut him out and added the sentiment on his little sign. I used a stamp positioner for this.
He was placed on a strip of washi tape and added some more of the same tape in the right top corner.

I used the following stamps:

Leave my loneliness unbroken!

Hello everyone,

Today I have a card to share. I made this for the Challenge over at De Stempelwinkel where the theme is 'women'. So here goes:

This is a really simple card. I took some black card stock and adhered the pink patterned paper on the top. I did ink the edges before I glued it down. The girl was stamped on some paper that came from a package of stamps and cut out with a circle die. I drew some circles around the die cut and added some Liquid Pearls. The bow is made from a strip of fabric and just glued on. Lastly the sentiment came from a stamp set about writers. All stamps are from De Stempelwinkel.
That was it !

One layer card

Hello everyone,

Today I have made a card to play in the IndigoBlu 'Just One Layer' Challenge. I used two of my new stamp(sets). It was so much fun colouring the girl...

This challenge was quite far out of my comfort zone as 'One Layer' is not something I practise often ! lol

Here it is:

I stamped "Lost in thought" on a card stock panel first, then masked her and used the "Limor Circles" set randomly around her with different Distress Inks. I then coloured in the girl and when I finished colouring I adhered the panel to a white card blank.

Whassup?

Hello everybody,

Hope you are all fine !

For my DT post over at VivaLasVegaStamps! today I have made an art journal:

I have made a little step by step of how I made it, so sit down, have a cuppa and enjoy !

I started with a piece of Mixed Media Paper.

Using a palet knife and some model paste and a stencil I created some texture.

I used a Time Holtz stencil for this called Flourish. After stencilling I painted the whole thing with white gesso. This gives a slightly softer result..

Now the fun starts.... colour. I used my favourite sprays.

After spraying, dripping and more spraying and dripping this was the result.

Next, I put the stencil back on and wiped it with a baby wipe, so the pattern gets a little lighter.

Then, some stamping, a complete list of all stamps used will be at the bottom of this post.

Time to stamp the main image; I used Versafine ink and black embossing powder to make the image even blacker...

I gave the same treatment to the sentiment. I still thought it needed something more so I added some white pen on the bird and some numbers which I heat embossed with white powder. I also added some washi tape and this is the end result :

I used the following stamps:

Adventure awaits..

Hello everyone,

I have been playing in my mini art journal today. I have used one of the new Carabelle stamps called Jack. He is so sweet.

I have yet again used my favourite sprays from Lindys Stamp Gang. I love this stuff. But first I gessoed the page and put some texture on it with a stencil and some model paste. I then used the sprays:
'Merry go round green'
'Tilt a wheel teal'
'Tibetan poppy teal'
I sprayed, dripped, dried and repeated until I was happy. Next I stamped the background with a variety of stamps and inks. I also used black archival ink to accentuate the letters I made with the model paste. I found the chipboard puzzle pieces in my stash and I embossed them with Lindys embossing powder in the colour 'Morning glory azure'. I adhered them to the page. I then stamped Jack; once on the page and once on white card stock. I coloured the one on the white card stock, clear embossed him and cut him out. I then glued him onto himself :) on the page. Lastly I stamped the sentiment which is from VivaLasVegaStamps!

Friends

Hello fellow Crafters,

Today I am sharing an art journal with you. It is my DT post for Lost Coast Designs.

The base of this journal page is a gelli print and I randomly stamped it with stamps and a bottle cap. I also drew some lines around the page with a fineliner. Next I stamped the "Three Sisters" on white card stock and coloured them with Copic Markers. I clear embossed the image and tried to make it look like a photograph.  I then started to get some other things from my stash to use with this image.
I used a few scraps of fabric, some pattern paper, a doily and some twine. I put it all together on the gelli print and added the 'friends' label. That was it !

I used the following Lost Coast Designs Stamps:

Three Sisters
Loopy Calligraphy
Love Dictionary

If you fancy some of these stamps you can get them here:

Spring has sprung

Hello everyone !

Happy Wednesday and yet again time for another challenge over at the Stampotique Designers' Challenge Blog. The theme today was set by the lovely Valerie and this is what she said :

"it's Spring - Actually use springs or something that makes things spring up off your project!"

I have made this :

I coloured the card stock, which is postcard size 6 x 4" with Distress Ink in Broken China. Next I inked up the Majestic Tree stamps with water based markers; I used 2 shades of green and one brown, I then sprayed it with water and stamped it on the card. You get this lovely almost water coloured effect.  I then stamped the wall and coloured it using Copic Markers; it was then adhered to the card with a bit of dimension. Unfortunately you can't see it very well on the photo. I used two layers of corrugated cardboard to achieve this. Next I stamped Bunny and coloured him, again using Copic Markers, cut him out and clear embossed him. He was adhered onto the wall. Next were the flowers, they were stamped, coloured, cut out and clear embossed. This is where the springs come into it.. I did this a few times before and love the effect. Take some thin metal wire and wind it around a knitting needle, pull it off and pull it to the length you want. I adhered it to the back of the image and the other end behind the wall. Lastly I made the sentiment with a label maker and matted the whole thing on black card stock before adhering that to some patterned paper. The little bees were an afterthought !

The end is near.

Hello everyone,

This week, over at VivaLasVegaStamps! we are having a bloghop together with Art Anthology. Isn't that exciting !

Make sure to hop over and have a look here too:

VivaLasVegaStamps! website:  http://www.vlvstamps.com/index.php/

Art Anthology's Website : www.artanthologyinc.com
Art Antology's FB page :  https://www.facebook.com/pages/Art-Anthology/392413134139071

I have made two projects combining the fabulous VLVStamps! (Full list of stamps used at the bottom of this post) and the gorgeous Art Anthology products that I was given to make my projects : Sorbet Dimensional paint in the colours : Black Leather Jacket and Sunshine and a spray in the colour Grass.

This is the first; it is an art journal.

I started with the yellow Art Anthology Dimensional paint (Sunshine) and used a stencil to create the sunburst. Next, when this was dry, I sprayed the page with my Art Anthology Grass Spray. (It doesn't stay on the yellow). I then used a few stamps to give some interest to the background. When this was done, I stamped the sentiment and the man in the gas mask straight onto the page and heat embossed the images with black embossing powder to make them even blacker... The crime scene tape was stamped on a piece of, I think it is called Mulberry paper, and heat embossed in the same way. Lastly I went around the page with a black ink pad.

The second project is a tag:

I used a #8 Manilla tag for this and scraped the Art Anthology Sorbet Dimensional paint onto it with a palet knife. It is gorgeous, there is some little bits of glitter in it. When this was dry I scaped some of the  Art Anthology Black Leather Jacket Dimensional paint over the yellow in the left bottom and right upper corner.
I also dripped some of the Art Anthology Grass green spray here and there.
Next I stamped the background and the sentiment straight onto the tag; the girl was stamped separately on some white card stock and coloured with Copic Markers. She was also heat embossed with clear embossing powder before I adhered her to the tag. Lastly I put some ribbon through the hole and that was that !

I used the following stamps :

Gentlemen prefer blondes

Hello everyone !

Today I played with my new stencil I bought at the Art Specially event last week. I also used the Dylusions paints I bought there.

And this is it :

Those paints are so yummy and vibrant, I love them. I started with gesso and model paste through a stencil and then used my fingers and a baby wipe to spread the paint around. A little of this stuff goes a long way.. I used pink, orange and yellow. Next I used my Big Brush Pitt pen to add some shade around the model paste swirls.
I then used the stencil, a blending tool and some of the black Dylusions paint and put Marilyn on the page. Isn't she gorgeous! The last thing I did was some background stamping, splattering and stamping the sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by !

When the moon is full....

Hello everyone,

Today I have a postcard for you. It might give you some inspiration to play along with our challenge  over at VivaLasVegaStamps! this month. Here it is:

This postcard was started with a piece of white card stock measuring 6" x 4". I painted it around the edges with a pinky/purply colour from a kids water colour set.  Next I glued a dictionary page over the top of it with gel medium. I pulled some bits off,  so the pink from the original card was visible again. I distressed the edges of the card with my scissors (I do not own one of those distressing tools) and aged it slightly with a blending tool and Distress Ink, I used Walnut Stain.
Next I punches some circles and coloured them, cut them in half and adhered them to the card. I then put a stencil over it and drew the stars. I just went around the stars with a pen and then filled them in.
Next I did a bit of background stamping and I thought that nicely finished off the background. The moon was stamped next; once on the card and once on white paper. I cut out just the moon from the white paper and glued it on the moon on the card. I used another bit of white paper and a punch to create the scallops and the black and white check was done with a fineliner. The last thing I did was stamp the lovely fairy, colour her and age her as well with the same distress ink so she was not too bright. I glued her on the checkered border and that was that !

I used the following stamps :

18415 - Large fairy lady from plate 1367

This is the inspiration board that the card is based on:

I used the following elements:
dictionary - script - stars - moon - checker - tan - distressed - old - pink - scallops - half circles

Why not play along this month and win yourself some lovely rubber ! Check out the rules on the VLVS! blog !

Thanks for stopping by today !

Whatever...

Hello everyone,

It is Wednesday so that must mean there is another Stampotique Designers' Challenge up on the blog HERE.
It is the lovely Magda who set today's challenge which is 'Circles" and this is what she said:

"I like using shapes in my projects especially circles. They can give interesting effects on projects depends in what way they are used. I would love to see circles on your creations. How you will use them, depends on your imagination.
Magda x"

I made this art journal :

I love circles so this was a great challenge for me.. I used a piece of Mixed Media paper that I painted with blue acrylic paint. I used a Faber Castell Big Brush Marker to make the edges a little bit darker. Next I used two different sized circle punches to create some circles from gelli prints and from some pattern paper. These were then adhered to the page using gel medium. Next I used bottle caps to stamp around the circles with black and white paint.
I also stamped the background. Next I stamped Bow Tie and the hat and coloured them with a combination of Copics and colour pencils. I wanted to put him straight on the page but I thought he didn't stand out enough. That is why I glued him to a piece of white paper that I cut in the shape of a long skinny tag. I doodled around the edges of my tag and put the twine through the hole before adhering the whole thing to the page. The sentiment was stamped on the same white paper and attached to the top of the tag. That was it !

I used the following stamps :

Why not play along with us this week and have a chance of winning $30 worth of stamps. There are only two rules; only one entry per person per challenge and NO digi's....

Tulip

Hello everyone,

Today I have made a card for the Challenge over at Art Journey. The theme is 'grid'.
I finally bought some or their stamps last weekend at the Art Specially Event so that I can play along with the challenges.

The card front was coloured with Distress Inks and I dripped some water and black ink on it to make it more interesting. I stamped the background and when I was happy with it I cut it into 6 pieces and adhered the bits to a piece of black card stock. This is the 'grid'. Next I stamped the tulip and coloured it with Copic Markers, cut it out and clear embossed it. I adhered it on top of my 'grid'. Lastly I stamped the ticket from the tulip set twice and cut them out. I stapled them to the card front.
The card front was then adhered to a white card.

Hay Fever

Hello everyone !

I think this might be my 3rd post today, but the other two were really from yesterday, so this is really the first ! lol

Over at the TagAlong Blog the theme this week is Theatre ! I love to play along with this weekly challenge but unfortunately I don't always have the time.
When I saw this week's theme I knew I had to play as I remembered I bought some old Theatre Guides in a second hand book shop in the UK last year. And that is what I used to make this tag:

I cut a tag from Mixed Media Paper and painted it with Fresco paint in the colour 'Ice Blue', I went around the edges with 'Faded Jeans' Distress Ink and a grey Archival ink pad. I used the same grey ink to do some background stamping.
I cut some elements out of the theatre guide and arranged them on the page, trying to make it look less as if it was glued on there, which it was of course... lol
Penelope looks very glamorous and she was adhered to the tag too. I doodled around her and added a flower and a bit of ribbon and that was that !

Thank you for stopping by !

Nevermore

Hello everyone,

This is my second post for today and it is my entry for the challenge over at Quoth the Raven.
The theme is Tic Tac Poe ! I chose the following three elements:

Stitching - Poe - Raven

And this is my project, it is a mini art journal:

I started with a stencil and Modelpaste. I then coated the pages with gesso. When this had dried I used one of my Lindys Stampgang Flat Fabios in a nice purple colour. I kept on spraying and dripping until I was happy with the result. I then used my fingers and a distress ink pad to accentuate the circles somewhat. I did some background stamping and splattering and then stamped Poe on some patterned paper, glued it onto a piece of black card stock and took it to the sewing machine for some stitching.. I also stamped the pen on the same paper and cut it out. The sentiment was stamped straight onto the page. After doodling a line around both pages I declared it finished !

Thanks for stopping by !

Life is good !

Hello everyone,

This is the first of two posts from me today. I have made a tag for Sir Tim's 12 tags of 2015. Of course I didn't have many of the supplies Tim used but I improvised.

I cut a tag from Kraft card stock and inked the edges with Walnut Stain Distress Ink. Next I cut a piece of watercolour paper and stamped the flower onto it. This stamp is by Stampotique as I don't have any flower stamps from Tim. I also don't have any of the dies Tim used so I improvised and used a different one. The flower was coloured with watercolour pencils and a water brush. The tag was stitched together and I finished it off with some rub ons, some metal flowers and a bit of lace ribbon.

Thank you for stopping by today !

Noted

Hello everyone,

I am very excited to tell you that I am part of the April #3UP on the PaperArtsyBlog. Thank you PaperArtsy for this opportunity !

I have made a little canvas for this occasion and have made a step by step tutorial for it as well. It is quite a long one so go and get yourself a cuppa and enjoy:

I started with a canvas board of 25 x 25 cm (10 x 10 inches) and painted it with white gesso.

I then glued some Tim Holtz tissue paper in three different places.

The colour scheme I was asked to use was : Limelight, Mermaid, Candy FLoss, Gold, and a dash of yellow Submarine. As I don't own the Candy Floss I had to improvise and use another pink I did have.

This was the result after painting...

Next I did some background stamping with the same paints...

I also used some white paint to stamp the numbers. Make sure to wash your stamps immediately after using them with paint.

I then used some punchinella and Grunge Paste to create some texture. I sprinkled gold embossing powder over the paste while is was still wet and let it dry completely before putting the heat gun on it and melting the embossing powder.

This is what is looks like in all it's golden splendour !

Here's a close up !

Stamping on canvas is always difficult and sometime even impossible to get a perfect impression. That's why I stamped my image on tissue paper. I used Versafine and clear embossing powder to get a perfect impression.

Tear out or cut out and adhere to the canvas. You can use Gel medium for this or Mod Podge or something similar.

The last things were to add some black paint with a credit card and a sentiment. I used a chipboard saying 'NOTED' as there seems to be a writing/postage theme going on.

I hope you enjoyed my tutorial, I sure enjoyed making this canvas and writing it up.

Here's a list of all the stamps I used (all PaperArtsy)

Thank you so much for stopping by today and thank you, PaperArtsy for this opportunity !
