Surprise...

Hello everyone,

I did it ! I didn't think I would manage but I finished my ATC's for the latest Stampotique swap this afternoon. Normally I wouldn't share them before people had received them but we had to put a photo in the album so it is not a secret. And here they are :

The background was brayered with acrylic paint and after drying I stamped them randomly and did a little stencilling with white paint. I stamped the cat and the box on white card stock and coloured both with Copic Markers, I cut them out and adhered them to the ATC's. I stamped the sentiment and doodled a line around the cards.
That was it !

Thank you so much for stopping by today !

What a beautiful day

Hello everyone,

I have made an art journal for my DT post for Katzelkraft I love the last releases; the birds, the cats, the accessories, the rain drops.... Oh my, makes you so greedy !

Anyway here is my journal page :

I started with stamping the water wall with VersaMark ink and embossing it with white embossingpowder. Next I used Distress Inks and a blending tool to create the background. I used Weathered Wood, Mermaid Lagoon, Broken China, Tumbled Glass and a little Gathered Twigs for the bottom. Next I stamped the cat and the umbrella on the page as well as on some white card stock. I coloured them with Coloured Pencils, cut them out and adhered them onto the page. I also stamped the shawl, coloured it, cut it out and adhered it to the cat. The sentiment is from another company and was stamped, cut into strips and adhered to the page.  And that was it really.. So simple...

I used stamps of the following sets:

KTZ 146

KTZ 156

KTZ 152

Thank you so much for stopping by today, I do really appreciate it !

Jingle Bells

Hello everyone,

Today the lovely and talented Nellie is hosting the Challenge and as a theme she chose: 'Quick & easy Christmas Card. Well I have to tell you I don't really do quick and easy.... but I gave it my best shot and here it is:

Here is a close up of the snow flake...

I started with stamping the snowflake and colouring it with pencils in very light turquoises. I then glued on the seed beads. Next I cut a white panel and a blue glitter panel to go on a white card base. After I glued on the panels I glued on the snowflake. Lastly I stamped the sentiment which says : Jingle your own damn bells!,  but I used only the words Jingle and bells, cut them out, inked the edges with Broken China distress ink and glued them on as well.

I used two stamps for this:

Why not play along with us this week; you could win one of two $30 vouchers. Just remember, only one entry per person per challenge and no digi's.

Thank you for stopping by today !

Define normal....

Hello everyone,

I had a little fun time in my craft room today. I used Tim's Crazy Birds, Crazy Thoughts and the sentiments Crazy Talk.  Before this I made some 12 x 12 inch backgrounds with a brayer and some acrylic paints and cut them into postcards (6 x 4). This is one of those.

The colours are a bit off as it was very dark in my craft room by the time I finished this..
Anyway I stamped the bird, the bunny ears and the speech bubble on white card stock and on the card. I coloured everything with Copic Markers. I wasn't happy with the result as my yellows that I used for his body didn't want to blend that well. I need some more colours I think....
After everything was coloured, I cut it all out and adhered it to the card, added some washi tape, the sentiment and a doodled line around the edge and that was it...

Thank you for stopping by today !

Mailart Monday !

Hello everyone,

Today, for VivaLasVegaStamps!, I am sharing a mail art envelope with you. It is a little tutorial so sit back and enjoy !

First of all the finished envelope :

Front

And the back.

Here's how I made it:

I started out with a standard envelope. Of course you could use or make any size you want.

First thing I did, was mask off the address section with a bit of post-it tape. You see I have used this before !

I decided to use acrylic paints and a brayer to create my background. It will be more weather proof with acrylic paint as well.

Here's how it looked when I just started rolling on the paint...

I used: Orange, pink, green and turquoise..

After I finished rolling the paint I took off the mask.

Next is stamping ! My favourite bit !

Here is a 'halfway'look....I used different colours of ink to stamp the background.

A bit more stamping....I also doodled around the address space with a black marker.

Here, the stamping is finished and I thought it needed some white.....

So here is the finished product with white stencilling added.... Hope you like it....

Of course I couldn't ignore the back of the envelope....

I used the following stamps:

Keep calm...

Hello everyone,

This afternoon I have made a Christmas card with one of my Katzelkraft Bird stamps. I used a Gelli print as the base and did some additional stamping and embossing. I used (part of) the Christmas Tree as a hat for one of the birds and the sentiment and starry rings from the last Christmas stamp set. The images were coloured with Copic Markers.

Thank you so much for stopping by ! Leave me a comment if you'd like; I read all of them with pleasure !

Bunny boiler....

Hello everyone,

it is Wednesday and that means another Stampotique Challenge....and it is my turn to host. Yay !
I chose the theme "At the movies". I would like you all to make something that is inspired by a movie or a movie star. But the most important thing is, as always, to have fun !
And I did, have fun that is.... I made an art journal:

This page made me chuckle all the way through... I started with a piece of Mixed Media paper which was gessoed. I then used some model paste and a stencil to add some texture. I then sprayed the page with Lindy's Stampgang sprays. I have bought some new ones so I had to try them; I like them... a lot... Next I splattered some white ink on the page. I do this by shaking a white paint pen.
I then used a few stamps on the background and I also went around the page with some white gesso. I used my fingers for this.
Then it was time for the fun to start. I stamped all the images I needed (a full list is at the bottom of this post) and coloured them with my Copic Markers. I had to draw the pan and the wooden spoon.
I then did some stamp surgery on the girl, the rabbit  and the phone to be able to use them as I wanted. I then cut everything out and assembled the pieces on the page. Lastly I used my type writer to type the sentiment, which is a quote from the film "Fatal Attraction".
I hope you get as much fun out of this page by looking at it as I had making it...

I used the following stamps:

I do hope you will join me this week and make something inspired by the movies. You might just win  one of the two $30 vouchers. Just remember no Digi's and only one entry per person per challenge.

Thank you so much for stopping by !

Keep calm.. you might just receive this card !

Hello everyone,

I have made a postcard today, just for fun. I've used one of the birds from Katzelkraft and two more stamps of one of the latest Christmas stamp set.

So, here's how I made it. I took a piece of postcard sized card stock and stamped the starry circles with Versamark ink and white embossed them.
Next I coloured the background with Distress Inks going from  Tumbled Glass via Broken China and Faded Jeans to Chipped Sapphire at the top. The white embossing stands out beautifully like that.
Next I stamped the background, just a little and made the snowbanks out if torn card stock that was heat embossed with glittery embossing powder on the torn edges. I then stitched around the edges of the card with the sewing machine.
The bird and hat were stamped on white card stock and coloured with Copic Markers, cut out and adhered to the postcard. Lastly I stamped the sentiment, cut it apart and adhered that too.

If you would like to receive this postcard in the mail, just leave me a comment and I will draw a name out of the hat on the 1st of december ! Good luck !

Thank you so much for stopping by !

Jingle your own damn bells!

Hello everyone,

For a new swap over at  the ART-EX  Facebookpage, where the theme is 'non-traditional' Christmas postcard,  I made this:

This postcard started out as a 6"x4" piece of white card stock. I painted it with a pink acrylic paint and my fingers... I used a little white to make it a touch lighter. Next I stamped one of Dina Wakley's stars three times with VersaMark and heat embossed it with white WOW embossing powder.
I then used some of Finnabair's stamps and one Katzelkraft stamp to bring some more interest to the background. I still thought is was a little boring so I used a blue acrylic paint and a palet knife to scrape some blue over the top. I thought this looked much better. Next I stamped this grumpy cat, which is one of the cats of the new Katzelkraft set and the hat which is part of an accessories set for these cats and is also by Katzelkraft. I coloured both with Copic markers, cut them out and adhered them on the card. I did stamp the cat directly on the card as well, so I didn't have to cut out the whiskers. The sentiment is a Stampotique Stamp and was also stamped, cut out, cut in strips and adhered to the card. Lastly I went around the edge with black Archival ink.

I hope whoever is going to get this card in this swap, will like it.

Thank you for stopping by today !

Hello friends !

Hello everyone !

For my DT post for Katzelkraft today, I made this art journal.

I started with a blank page in my journal and used my fingers and three colours of acrylic paints to made these fun circles. I used turquoise, blue and white paints.
I then stamped the background and used a bottle cap and black acrylic paint to create the circles. Next I stamped the birds on the branch and with a black pen made it bigger to make it disappear off  of the left side of the page. I also drew a branch on the right hand side of the page to place the bird on.
He was stamped on white card stock and coloured with Copic Markers. The hat is from a different stampset (see below) and was stamped, coloured, cut out and placed on the birds head.
Lastly I stamped the sentiment and coloured in the letters of the word 'hello'. That was it.

I used stamps from the following sets :

KTZ131 for the background

Solo 14

KTZ139

KTZ141 for the hat, I used the one from the bird..

KTZ151

A brandnew challenge !

Hello everyone,

It is Wednesday and that means another challenge has been launched on the Stampotique Blog. This week our hostess is the lovely and talented Samantha ! Her theme is 'Take a box' and this is what she had to say about it :

"I get very excited when I see cardboard boxes. The potential of a box is enormous. So for this weeks challenge I'd like to see you all use a box as part or all of your creation. You can keep your box as a box or cut it up and use it flat. It's up to you just have lots of fun!"

Here's mine:

I used this little box in which there were some Christmas lights.

An this is the end result....

From different angles

Here is a close up of one side of the box.

I started by cutting off the flaps on the top of the box and glueing book pages on it using gel medium. Next I painted the whole thing with gesso and after that dried, used a stencil and some model paste to put the letters on for more interest. The box was then coloured with Lindy's Stamp gang sprays. I used one with and one without sparkle.
Next I stamped the background with a few different stamps; a list of all the stamps I used is at the bottom of this post.
I also went around all the corners with my black Archival Ink pad and also used this ink and my fingers to accentuate the letters a little.
next I stamped Peggy on the front of the box... and failed miserably.. She was only stamped partially. Instead of throwing the box away I decided to stamp her again on tissue paper and adhere this over the failed image on the box. Hurray, success...
Next I stamped Peggy again on white card stock and coloured the 'open' parts of her with coloured pencils. I then cut all these bits out and adhered them onto the image on the box.
I typed the words 'watercolour' and 'pencils' on a strip of blank book page and adhered that to the box too. Lastly I doodled around the words and put my pencils in my finished box !

I used the following stamps:

Why not join us this week and alter your own box. You can win one of two $30 vouchers at the end of the month. Just remember only one entry per person and no digi stamps !

Thank you so much for stopping by !

Believe

Hello everyone,

and welcome to another blogpost. I was on a roll today... lol. Happens sometimes, doesn't it ? I had a fabulous day in my craft room and created another card for a challenge. This on is for Stampingback, they have some lovely stamps and their theme for this month is "Autumn". I couldn't really think of an autumnal card so I decided to use my favourite Stampingback Stamp and use Autumnal colours for the background.

I started with stamping the leaves with Versamark and then heat embossed them with a cream embossing powder. This leaf stamp is not by Stampingback, but the rest of the stamps used, are.
Next I coloured the background with Distress Inks and a blending tool. I used Dried Marigold, Rusty Hinge and Peeled paint. Next I put a stencil over the top and sprayed water through it, it lights up the wetted areas. You can just see the dots. I then accentuated the edges with the same colours and stamped the splatters on it.
I stamped the ballerina with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured her with Copic Markers, cut her out and then die cut the oval out of cream card stock as I thought she didn't stand out enough on the background. I also stamped the splatters on this piece of card stock. The sentiment is a word from a phrase form one of the stamps that comes with the ballerina; I stamped it on the same cream card stock, cut it out and glued it on the card. Lastly I doodled around the card, the sentiment and the oval.

Thank you for stopping by today !

Tick tock

Hello everyone,

Today I have made a card for the Art Journey challenge "Anything goes". You'll find  all the details HERE.

This card was created by white embossing the flowers and stamping the lady first. I then masked the lady and colouring the background with Distress Inks and a blending tool.
I then over stamped with the swirl and doodled the black line around the card.
Next I coloured the lady with colour pencils and when that was done I stamped the sentiment, doodled a line around it and adhered it to the card.

I used the following stamps  :
Aunts
Ripple

No sense...

Hello everyone,

Yesterday afternoon I finished colouring 'Winton' from the  Dyan Reavely set called "Winston and Lulu" and made him into an art journal.

I think he looks very dapper ! lol... I coloured him with pencils. I did stamp him in light grey ink so that I could colour over the ink. Later I then used a black marker to re-establish the lines of the image. The trouble is that there is a lot of black if you were to use black ink so I chose to do it this way. The pages were mop up's from something else, I just added some white to make it a bit blotchy. I also used a Tim Holtz stencil with model paste, on of the Crazy Thoughts stamps and some more of Dyan's Dylusions stamps. The sentiment was handwritten.

Thank you for stopping by !

Blonds make the best victims

Hello everyone,

It is my turn to show you something made with the gorgeous Lost Coast Designs/Carmens Verandah stamps for Inkadinkadutchies. I made a mini art journal and I hope you like it:

This double page spread has been made in a mini Moleskine journal. I started with finger painting the pages with Dina Wakley's paints in the colours lime and turquoise.  I then stamped the background with a few different stamps. There is a list of all the stamps I used at the bottom of this post.
I also used a stencil with some white gesso to add some white and drew some lines around the pages.
I stamped Alfred with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured him with Copic Markers. There is not a lot to colour as he is mostly black. I found this quote on the internet and thought it was hilarious. I decided to use it an typed it on my old typewriter, cut it apart and glued it onto the page. Lastly I put on some strips of washi tape; I though the filmstrip was quite appropriate...
That was it !

I used the following stamps :

You can get these stamps at Lost Coast Designs HERE when you live in the USA or at Inkadinkadutchies HERE if you live in Europe.

Why fit in ?

Hello everyone,

I've been playing with some stamps, pencils and paints... I created an art journal page which is quite far out of my comfort zone, using red and green on the same page ! Eek....
I bought the newish Dyan Reavely stamps 'Winston & Lulu' and I spent an afternoon colouring Lulu with my new Caran d'Ache Pablo pencils. These pencils are an addition to my Polychromos and I bought them because my friend Karen Haselden was raving about them. And I agree, they are lush... so soft and easy to blend ! Love them.... You'll find Karen's very colourful and fabulous blog HERE by the way !
Here's my page :

Of course my colouring is not nearly as good as Karen's but I will keep on practising....

Here's a detail photo..

The background was created with Dylusions paints and Archival Inks. All stamps used are  Dyan Reavely's Dylusions. This was great fun making as I was able to use some stamps I haven't used for a long time...

A little splash of colour

Hello everyone,

and happy Stampotique day to you ! Time for another challenge over at Stampotique and today's hostess is the lovely, talented Carol. She wants us to use bright colours and this is what she said :

"Bright eye popping colours to brighten up November".

So I did an art journal and I hope my colours are eye popping enough !

I started colouring a blank page in my journal with Distress Inks and a blending tool. I used "Mustard Seed", "Spiced Marmelade" and "Ripe Persimmon".  After it dried I put a stencil on it and sprayed water through it. That gives a nice lighter pattern. I also used a letter stencil with an orange spray ink and a dot stencil with model paste. Obviously the dots went orange because that is what Distress Ink does so I painted them white with a white paint pen. I then stamped the background here and there and doodled a few black lines around the page.
Next I stamped my main figure, he's my latest buy from Stampotique and I love him, I stamped him on the page and on white card stock. I also stamped the heart in his hand again with red ink. I coloured his face, wings, body and hands and cut these bits out. I then put him back together in the page. I found this sentiment on the internet and thought it was apt for this challenge so I typed it on my old typewriter, cut it apart and glued it on the page. Lastly I doodled around the word strips.

I have used the following stamps:

I hope you will play along with us this week ! There are 2 $30 vouchers to be won at the end of the month. Just remember only one entry per person and no digi stamps.

Boys just want to have fun!

Hello everyone,

It is my turn to share something made for the VivaLasVegaStamps! blog. As my first love is still art journaling I couldn't resist to make another journal page. I don't journal to write down my feelings or anything but I just enjoy using colour and different techniques to create interesting pages. For me the enjoyment is the doing. So here goes:

I used Distress Inks to colour the paper: Twisted Citron and Mermaid Lagoon for the basis background and then some Peeled Paint and Chipped Sapphire for the edges.
I placed a stencil on the page, sprayed with water and dried it. You get a lovely lightening of the colours. Next I stamped the background randomly using a variety of stamps (list at the bottom of this post) and Archival ink in green, blue and grey and a white pigment ink.
I then went on to stamp the birds with black Archival ink. I had to do some colouring in afterwards as I didn't stamp perfectly; I used a black marker for this.
Next I stamped the boy on the swing, lengthened the chain up to the wire. I also stamped him on white card stock and I then coloured him in with water colour pencils, using a little bit of water to blend it. I cute the coloured image out and adhered it onto the one on the page.
The sentiment was stamped on white card stock, cut apart, glued to the page and doodled around.
That was it !

I used the following stamps:
