Vintage journal

Hello everyone,

For today's AALL & Create post I have made a small journal. I recently acquired the Eileen Hull Passport die and decided to use it for this book. I added a heart, also a die cut, and some beads. Of course there are lots of AALL & Create stamps and a stencil too ! I decided to glue the covers on the front of the flap that forms the spine and not on the back. This way it is easier to decorate.

And here's how:

After die cutting the book, gluing it together and punching more holes in the middle ( I wanted to do a pamphlet stitch ) I painted it with a very light blue acrylic paint. I then overpainted with white and put the number stencil on. I wiped away the paint through the stencil with a baby wipe and some more after taking the stencil off. This gives a nice worn look. 

Next I stamped the cover in some places with VersaMark ink and heat embossed it with copper embossing powder. I also stamped with light blue Distress Oxide ink and heat embossed with clear powder.

Next I inked the edges and decided to go vintage ! I used Olga's 'Vintage assorted' set to stamp some more. 

I added splatters with a black and a white paint pen. The heart is a Tim Holtz die and I treated it with crackle paint and the same blue ink as the cover. I added the two birds from the stamp set. Looks like they are in love, doesn't it!  I also inked the folds to make it look old. I also added one of the birds on the back of the journal.

For the final touch I added three signatures of paper and bound them with a pamphlet stitch. I then added beads to the threads.

Jingle Bells

Hello everyone,

Today the lovely and talented Nellie is hosting the Challenge and as a theme she chose: 'Quick & easy Christmas Card. Well I have to tell you I don't really do quick and easy.... but I gave it my best shot and here it is:

Here is a close up of the snow flake...

I started with stamping the snowflake and colouring it with pencils in very light turquoises. I then glued on the seed beads. Next I cut a white panel and a blue glitter panel to go on a white card base. After I glued on the panels I glued on the snowflake. Lastly I stamped the sentiment which says : Jingle your own damn bells!,  but I used only the words Jingle and bells, cut them out, inked the edges with Broken China distress ink and glued them on as well.

I used two stamps for this:

Capture the magic

Hello everyone,

Today it is my turn to show you another project for Roc. I had so much fun making this and I hope you like it. I keep seeing ATB's all over the internet. They are Artist Trading Blocks and I decided to try and make one too. And here it is :

Here is a close up of the Love birds eh... dogs:

This ATB was made from some cardboard I had lying around. I put masking tape all over it to create a bit of a pattern and then added some model paste through a stencil. 

Next I coloured the whole thing with a Lindys Stampgang Flat Fabio. The colour is 'Pop Rock Purple'. A Flat Fabio is just an inkspray with no glitter in it. I the used a blending tool and Archival ink and accentuated the corners of the box and also the model paste. I also dripped some white Lindys on all the sides to create more interest, this one is called 'Frozen Jack Frost' and does have some glitter in it. 

Next I glued on the 4 beads for the feet and the three on the top for the wire. I used gel medium for this. The wire was rolled around a knitting needle and then pulled out a bit. 

It was then time to stamp. I used :

Stacked boxes

Flying heart

Stacked love

Dog

Capture the magic

All of these stamps were stamped in white card (the dog was stamped once as he is and once reversed using a solid piece of rubber. You stamp on the rubber and then stamp the rubber on the paper) apart from the stacked love. I stamped that on tissue paper. Everything was coloured with a mixture of Copic Markers and pencils and glued on. Lastly I adhered the moustache on the one dog for a bit of fun...
