Relax..

Hello everyone,

welcome to my blog for another post for Katzelkraft. I managed to pick up some of the new stamps at the Dutch Art Specially event and made this postcard with them :

I stamped the postcard stamp and heat embossed it with white powder, I then sprayed the card with Distress Oxide sprays in yellow and orange. When dry I added the Flamingo. She was stamped on card stock which was coloured with the same sprays but now pink. I also stamped her on white, coloured the beak and then put it all together again.

You'll find the stamps in the Katzelkraft Online Shop HERE

Field notes

Hello everyone,

I was asked to make some samples for the Hochanda TV shows of AALL & Create on April 3rd and of course I made some. It is so exciting to see your samples on TV!

Today I am sharing a little mini book.

And here's how:

I made some gelli printed papers with this stencil and stamp. These are going to be the pages of my book. Finished size of the book is a little larger than an ATC.

Next, I added some stamping with the same stamp.

I also used this stencil on some of the pages with white paint.

This is going to be the front and back of the book. I will cut it in half, half for the front, half for the back.

I added some orange paint, stamped the fern and some of the squares on tissue paper and adhered them to the cover.

I used my Big Brush Markers to colour in the fern. I cut the cover in half and added the title which is from this fab A4 stamp.

Next I glued the pages together back to back. This is not my design. I learned this particular technique from Birgit Koopsen in one of her gelli printing work shops.

Here is the finished book. I did add some doodles with a white pen still.

I have used the following stamps:

#110 - Numbered botanical
#146 - Kings and Queens

Stencils:
#50 - Little tribe
$45 - Digital bubbles

Bug

Hello everyone,

I was asked to make some samples for the Hochanda TV shows of AALL & Create on April 3rd and of course I made some. It is so exciting to see your samples on TV!

This cas postcard was really simple to make.

I used the sewing lines stamp from set #147 to stamp the front of the card. I used yellow and black inks.

I then stamped the ladybug on a piece of card stock that I had coloured with the same yellow ink.

I added shading, cut her out and adhered her to the card. I matted the sentiment and glued it on the card as well. Lastly I matted the card on black card stock.

I used the following stamps:

#161 - Ladybug
#147 - Zipp it

Paint your own reality

Hello everyone,

I was asked to make some samples for the Hochanda TV shows of AALL & Create on April 3rd and of course I made some. It is so exciting to see your samples on TV!

I forgot to take WIP photos unfortunately but I'll try and explain here how I made this. This flag came from a pad full of flags. I just tore one out. I glued dictionary paper on it and then embossed it with Seth Apther's Vintage Beeswax Baked Texture embossing powder. I did two layers. I then inked the edges of the flag with brown Archival ink.
Next I stencilled the blue circles on it using the Digital Bubbles stencil. I heated it again and the paint sort of goes into the embossing layer.
I then stamped Frida and the sentiment, coloured Frida, cut her out and adhered her to the flag. I also inked up the word strips of the sentiment and glued them on too.

I have used the following stamp:

#184 - Little Frida

Stencil:

#45 Digital bubbles

Hoppy Easter

Hello everyone,

I am back with some more inspiration for the Country View Challenges April Challenge which has the theme 'Spring or Easter'. Seeing as it is Easter Sunday today I thought an Easter card would be nice. I have used the new stamp set by Tim Holtz, called Funny Farm for this and there is a video too.
We would love you to play along with us ! There is a £20 voucher for the shop to win !

So, if you are interested in seeing how I made this card, hop over to my YouTube Channel HERE or click on the pic below:

A good decision....

Hello everyone,

I was asked to make some samples for the Hochanda TV shows of AALL & Create on April 3rd and of course I made some. It is so satisfying to see your samples on TV!

Today I am sharing a trio of ATC's.

and here's how:

I started with partially stamping this stamp on three ATC's. The paper I used is from an old Tim Holtz paper pad.

Next I stamped the cards from the same stamp on a different paper from the same paper pad.

I inked all the edges and then added 'stamping' with this stencil and Peeled Paint Distress Oxide Ink. I smooshed it onto the stencil, sprayed with water and printed it onto the ATC's.

Next I added pieces of sari ribbon and used a tiny attacher by Tim Holtz to staple it to the cards. I added some embroidery thread and put the cards on top. They were inked along the edges as well.

I used one of the sentiment from the Ladybug stamp as I thought it was quite apt to go with the playing cards. I also added some Tim Holtz paperclips for a bit more interest. The cards were then mounted on a piece of card board that i covered in patterned paper.

I have used the following stamps:

#146 - Kings & Queens
#161 - Ladybug

Stencil:

#45 - DIgital bubbles

Chapter Seven

Hello everyone,

For today's Katzelkraft post I have made a tag with things that were lying  on my desk. I just got the stamps and the black paint out.

I had a spare tag because I die cut one more than I needed. There was a gel plate lying on my desk with remnants of pink and orange paint on it, waiting to be cleaned. There also were two tubes of acrylic paint, one white, one pink and a pink inkpad. I also had some book pages lying around. So, I rolled some white paint on my dirty gelli plate and printed it onto the tag. Sometimes the mop ups are nicer than the original prints! Next I used the brayer with some of that light pink paint and rolled onto the right and bottom of the tag. Next I stamped the swirls with Distress Oxide Ink. This stamp is definitely my favourite Katzelkraft stamp of all times and I keep using him. I stamped him on book paper and then looked for some words that I could use. Next I assembled it all together, splattered some black paint on it and there it is!

I used the following stamps:

This week at Vera Lane Studio.

Hello everyone,

Welcome to my weekly Vera Lane Studio blogpost.

For this week I have made a postcard with the newly released 'Fatcats' and an Artist Trading Card with the 'Peekaboo' girl. Both were made on gelli printed paper. All the images were coloured with Copic Markers.

How cute are those cats and me saying that is quite extraordinary because I don't really like cats... lol I coloured them with Copic Markers. I added a sentiment from the set 'Fishbone and Wishbone' and the cup on his head is from the 'Calacas' set.

You'll find the cats HERE

Imagine it

Hello everyone,

I was asked to make some samples for the Hochanda TV shows of AALL & Create on April 3rd and of course I made some. It is so satisfying to see your samples on TV!

Today I am sharing a postcard I made.

Here's how:

After I coloured a piece of watercolour card stock with Distress Oxide inks, I put this stencil on it and sprayed it with the White Linen Dylysions spray and I was chuffed with the result.

Next I stamped the background randomly with this stamp and black and blue inks.

I stamped the robot on the card and on a piece of white card stock using a stamping tool. I left the card stock in place, painted him with silver paint and re-stamped.

I added some details with a blue metallic pen and coloured the rest of him with Copic Markers. I also added a doodle line along the edges and the sentiment from the set.

I have used the following stamps:
#188 - Robot
#146 - Kings & Queens
stencil:
#50 - Little tribe

Believe

Hello everyone,

I was asked to make some samples for the Hochanda TV shows of AALL & Create on April 3rd and of course I made some. It is so exciting to see your samples on TV!

This one is a card:

And here's how:

I made a gelli print with 2 shades of purple acrylic paint and this stamp. Make sure to wash your stamp straight away because dry paint is almost impossible to remove.

Next I toned it down with white paint and also added some stencilling with this fab stencil and the same white paint.

I added some heat embossed numbers from this stamp and also stamped the princess on the card and on some white card stock. I coloured her with Copic Markers, cut her out and adhered her to my card panel. I then glued the panel on a white card.

I used the following stamps:

#110 - Numbered botanical
#190 - Prinnsews

Stencil:
#45 - Digital bubbles
