This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hello everyone,

and happy Thursday ! Today I have a postcard and an ATC for Vera Lane Studio to show you.

This postcard is made with "Selfie". I printed, coloured and cut her out. I used a white pen to add the lines to her dress. The background is a mix of ink sprays and white acrylic paint. Of course I added some stencilling and stamping too.

You'll find 'Selfie' HERE

As soon as this Moose Hunt set came out I was in love ! Isn't he fabulous ! I printed, coloured and cut him out. I found this ATC in my stash; it has a gelli print on it. I adhered him and some washi tape on the card and added the sentiment.

You'll find him HERE.

I love you

 Hello everyone,

For this week's AALL & Create GDT post I have made a card. It's a 'love' card but you could send it to your best friend or your sister too!

Here's how I made this:

First was texture paste through this Janet Klein Stencil. When it was dry I added a layer of clear gesso over the top.

Next: Pigment powders. I used two shades of pink and a grey. When it dried I used a brayer and some white acrylic to tone it down. It also goes pinker!

I then added some stamping, some with black and red ink, some I heat embossed with white powder.

Next: The main image

I then added some washi tape for the little girl to stand on.

Here is she all coloured up in her best dress !

The finished card. I glued the panel onto a white blank card.

I have used the following materials:

A5 Stamping block

Stencil #114 - Art by Janet Klein
Stamp #338 - Background Noise by Janet Klein
#481 - Lil Love by Janet Klein

Washi tape #18 - Poets by Janet Klein

This mini journal was made with a gelli print. I printed, coloured and cut out the moose and the tree. I glued them onto my print and added (the slightly changed) sentiment.

Collector of curiosities

 Hello everyone,

For this week's AALL & Create GDT post I have made a journal spread.

Here's how:

I used this stencil with texture paste as a start to my pages.

When the paste had dried I painted the pages with a yellow and a yellow ocher paint making sure to mix and blend so I had some darker and some light areas. I then added pigment powder to the areas that had the texture paste. I sprayed it with water and let it dry. It stands out better now.

Next I took a brayer to tone it all down and to lighten the raised areas of the texture paste. Normally I would use white for this but this time I decided on a light yellow. I did this so it wasn't too stark.

Next I added some background stamping using a yellow, a brown and black ink.

I stamped my focal images ready for colouring.

I added some washi tape and didn't like it. So I rubbed some of the pale yellow paint over it. Much better but it needed something else. So I added some black splatters and..

......I cut out three crosses from this washi tape..

The focal images all coloured up.

All put together, I added the crosses and glued down the focal images. I painted around the lightbulb to create a little bit of a halo. I also added some pencil lines along the edges and lastly I added a sentiment by Tim Holtz from the Halloween word chip collection.

I have used the following materials:

Stencil:
 #2 by Olga Heldwein

Stamps:
#366 - Roundly by Autour de Mwa
#349 - Bold Alphas Mini by Bipasha Bk
#350 - Splattered Numbers by Tracy Evans
#387 - Steampunk Alchemist by Olga Heldwein

Washi tape:
#4 - Encrypt by Autour de Mwa
#13 - Fasteners by Bipasha Bk

This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hello everyone,

For this week's Vera Lane Studio DT post I have made two little projects, one with a new image called 'Cinderella' and one with a monkey from an older set called 'Monkey Shines'. Here they are:

I kept this card simple with a stencil print for the background and some of Janet's washi tape for Cinderella to stand on. She was coloured with Copic Markers. I used a sentiment from the set.
You'll find Cinderella HERE

This quick mini journal page was made with a piece of pattern paper and a gelli print. I coloured the monkey with Copics and cut him out. I placed him on some of Janet's washi tape and added some Clippings from Tim Holtz.

You find this monkey and his friends HERE.

A mini album for AALL & Create

 Hello everyone,

For today's Guest DT project for AALL & Create I have made a little album with three tags in it. I used lots of different stamps and part of stamps. I wanted to show that you don't need to use the whole images to make a nice project.

Here's how I made it:

I cut the tags out of card stock 220 gsm. I didn't want it to thick. The large one was cut by hand, I used a die for the small ones.  I used the Diamond stencil and acrylic paint to gelli print all the pieces.

Next I toned it all down again with a brayer and white paint and stamped the backgrounds.

I added some washi tape here and there, just little slivers and some black acrylic paint along the edges.

I stamped the words and letters I wanted to use.

I also stamped the focal images. I planned on only using part of the stamps.

Here you see them all coloured and cut out. For the pumpkin I wiped the ink off the stamp where the little pumpkin is and then used a fine liner to complete the drawing.

The tags all put together.

This is going to be the little album. It is just another tag that I folded in two places. On the inside middle at the bottom is a strip of paper to hold in the tags.  I added the word VEG and the hand which will point into the direction of the opening.

Here it is all put together. I added a ribbon to keep the album closed.

The back.

The inside of the album.

I used the following materials:

Stamping block A5
Stencil #124 - Lotza Diamondz by Autour de Mwa
Washi tape #17 - Mix & Match by Janet Klein

Stamps:
#457 - Background voices by Bipasha Bk
#484 - Reverse Diamonds by Autour de Mwa
#470 - Scripted Diamonds by Bipasha Bk
#455 - Seasons by Tracy Evans
#397 - Grungy Alphabet by Tracy Evans
#448 - Basic Veggies by Bipasha Bk

This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hello everyone,

Happy Thursday! For today's Vera Lane Studio I have made a postcard and an ATC. I have used the newly released 'Lucky Ducks', aren't they fabulous!

This postcard was made by painting a piece of watercolour card stock with watercolours. I used rainbow colours, making sure I didn't make mud. When everything had dried I used a home made stencil and white paint to add the polka dots. I also used a brayer with white paint to tone everything down. I then added splatters with a paint pen.
Next I printed, coloured and cut out the images of the ducks. I adhered them to the card together with the cloud and the sentiment that both come with the set. I used a tiny bit of Janet's washi tape to stand the right duck on.

This ATC was a background from my stash that I cut to size. It was made with a small gelli plate and a foam stamp. I added some stamping with Janet's #338 stamp set for AALL & Create and a piece of her washitape. I then added the other duck from the set and the second sentiment.

You'll find this fab duck set HERE

Ooh la la

 Hello everyone,

I am back with the second inspiration piece for the May 'we will always have Paris' challenge over at Country View Challenges and this time I made an Artjournal page:

Here's how I made this:

I started with a very old piece of pattern paper by Tim Holtz which has French writing on it. I toned it down using a brayer and white acrylic paint.

I added some stamping and inking along the edges.

I also added this fab Fleur de Lis stamp by Tim Holtz from a very old set called Paris Memoir.

Next I stamped these girls on book text and cut them out.

I added some washi tape under their feet and printed the sentiment with my computer and there you have it.

We would love for you to play along with us but make sure to read the rules before you do and you never know, you might win £20 to spend in the shop !
