This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hello everyone,

Happy Thursday ! For this week's project for Vera Lane Studio I have made an AJ spread and a postcard.

This funky little bird is from the Parrot Love set that was released last week. I printed him, his tree and a sentiment from the set and coloured him and cut him out.
I started my pages with Janet's stencil #114 (Art) for AALL & Create and some texture paste.
I then added acrylic paints in yellow, green and a touch of turquoise. I added water to each colour, let it run and dried it before adding the next colour. I then added stamping with Janet's stamp set #404 (Visual Ingredients) for AALL & Create. Lastly I added the bird and the sentiment.

You'll find this set HERE

This postcard was made with Sakana, she is from an older set. She comes with and without the fish on her head. I printed and coloured her with Copic Markers and cut her out.
Next I made a print with Janet's stencil #117 (Petals & Pods) for AALL & Create and Distress Oxide Ink.
I added some washi tape (AALL & Create) and put her on it. I then added the sentiment which is a snarky sticker by Tim Holtz.

You'll find Sakana HERE

Stop me before I paint again..

  Hello everyone,

For the second project for the month of November I have made a postcard:

And here is how I made it:

I started by colouring the paper with these two shades of Oxide inks. I then rubbed the Broken China ink pad over the stencil and spritzed it with water. I then printed it onto the card.

After it dried, I added some stamping using Oxide and Versafine inks.

I used an orange Distress Oxide to stamp the sentiment, I did that three times using my stamping platform. I then took the card out but not the stamp and spritzed water onto the stamped sentiment so it would run. I also added some splatters with the same orange ink.

Next, I put the card back into the stamping platform and stamped the sentiment again but now with black ink. I like the effect.

Next I stamped this hand print three times, again using my platform and heatembossed it with clear WOW embossing powder. I added black paint around the edges here and there and matted the card on a piece of black card stock.

I used the following VLVS! Stamps:

Other materials:

Distress Oxide inks:
Broken China, Tumbled Glass and Carved Pumpkin
Versafine Clair - Nocturne
WOW clear embossing powder
AALL & Create stencil #103 Pebble Pile

Little book of cats

 Hello everyone,

Today's AALL & Create project is a mini book. I used a new stamp set by Janet called 'Feline' that came out last weekend. I have filmed the process so you can see how I made this.

This is the front of the book.

Here is how I made it, if you don't want to look at all the photos then the link to the VIDEO is HERE

I started with stamping these cats, bird and sentiments. Isn't this set wonderful !

This is how they look coloured. I used Copic Markers by the way.

I used design paper for the whole book. This is a piece for the cover, I just added some paint, stencilling and stamping.

I treated the book the same way, paint, stencilling, stamping.. Later I also added some washi tape.

I placed one of the cats on the front.

These are the first two pages in the book. The crackle is printed on the designer paper. I just added paint, stencilling, stamping and washi tape. I then placed my cats and sentiments.

This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hello everyone,

Happy Thursday ! For today's Vera Lane Studio project I have made a postcard and a journal page.

This cutie came out this week and is called 'Just Jump'. I placed her on a background that I made with iZink glazes after I heat embossed an AALL & Create background stamp on it. I added some more stamping and inked some of the edges. I think those pastel colours look nice. I printed the jumping girl and coloured her with Copic markers, trying to keep to the same pastel colours. I then cut her out and placed her on the card. I added the sentiment and that finished it off.

You'll find this set HERE

The second project is a journal page. I used an older image from the set 'Hump day' which is still available on request. I inked and stamped a piece of Design paper from my stash and then set out to colour the dromedary; then cut him out and placed him on the paper after adding some washi tape for him to stand on. The sentiment is a snarky sticker by Tim Holtz.

I'd love to talk..

 Hello everyone,

Welcome to my blog where today I have a card to share that I made for AALL & Create.

And here's how:

I used white embossing powder by WOW to heat emboss this fab stamp onto my panel.  After melting the powder and letting it cool, I used Distress Oxide Inks in Mustard Seed and Picked Raspberry to add colour over the top. The embossing acts as a resist. Cool effect I think.

Next I added a few slivers of this washi tape and also stamped some of the smallest print of this stamp very carefully between the embossed bits and next to the washi tape.

I can't get enough of this rabbit because he is very cute, but today he seems to be more rude than cute.. I decided I wanted him uncoloured so I just added some shading here and there.

This is how he came out. Next I cut him out.

and adhered him onto my card panel. I also added a snarky sticker by Tim Holtz which makes him a rude rabbit.... lol When this was all done I added some doodle lines underneath the word strips, added some black paint on the edges and glued the panel onto a white card base.

I have used the following AALL & Create products:

Acrylic block - border

Washi:
#2 - Inspire by Autour de Mwa

Stamps:
#400 - Numerator by Tracy Evans
#438 - Ephemera Digits by Tracy Evans
#446 - I'm late by Olga Heldwein

This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hello everyone,

Happy Thursday ! Today I have made 2 postcards for Vera Lane Studio. The first one was made with the this week released 'Winter/Spring' and is a little wishful thinking on my part... The second was made with an older set called 'Tiny snow family'.

I chose the Spring version of this set as I said: wishful thinking. I really do not like Winter because I hate the cold and wet weather we get here. Anyway, I used a background from my stash that had a printed stencil (AALL & Create) on it. I printed the girl, the tree and the sentiment, coloured them and cut them out. I added some washi tape to the bottom of the card and put the girl and the tree on top if it.

You'll find this set HERE.

For this postcard I made the background by masking a piece of paper and painting between the tape. It is not perfect but I like it. I printed, coloured and cut out the images and adhered them onto the card after I put some washi tape down to stand them on. The sentiment is from the the same set.

You'll find the Tiny Snowfamily HERE

It's a story

  Hello everyone,

Welcome to my blog where today I am sharing a mini journal spread that I made for and with VivaLasVegaStamps!

For this spread I used the normal Distress Inks, I added them onto the pages with a blending tool after I heat embossed the swirls. I added stamping, splattering and black paint around the edges.
This cool chick is one of Tina Walker's scribble girls and I stamped her, coloured her and cut her out. I then adhered her to the page. The sentiment is also from Tina.

I used the following stamps:

Other materials:
Distress Inks, Mustard Seed and Worn Lipstick
Inks : Versafine Clair - Morning Mist, Nocturne and Summertime
White pen
WOW embossing powder
Zig Clean Colour Real brush markers
Black acrylic paint

Within my heart

 Hello everyone,

Welcome to my blog where today it is time for another AALL & Create project. I have made a small Mixed Media panel. I just used a piece of cardboard from a watercolour pad for the base and a piece of old fabric from my stash to embellish it. Anyway, here it is

And here's how:

I started with a piece of cardboard from the back of a watercolour block. I added a thin layer of Gesso and then added some of the plain washi tape. (There is a list of all the AALL & Create products I have used at the bottom of this post).

Next I used a gel medium to glue a piece of fabric on the card board. I then added some texture paste through this fab stencil, just using a small part of it.

Next I used a spray ink (Lindy's Stamp Gang) to add some colour to the texture paste so the flowers stand out more. I then stamped the background here and there with this stamp and some Distress Oxide ink. I used Weathered Wood because that was similar the the spray ink I used.

I then added some more stamping, this time in black.

To edge the black stamping I usually use black acrylic paint but today I thought I use a sliver of this fab washi tape.

I then stamped the flamingo of this set by Bipasha and coloured him, trying to stay close to the pale pink shades in the fabric. I found that combining two Zig watercolour markers and some pencil matched pretty well. I then cut him out, or is it a she?? lol

I then cut the flaming out and..

adhered him to my little panel after trying a piece of twine around it, just for fun and because it had been lying on my desk for ages... Last thing was the sentiment which consists of two Clippings stickers by Tim Holtz. And there you have it !

I really enjoy doing mixed media and this was great to make. Especially because the panel and the scrap of fabric I used was basically rubbish. It is even more satisfying when you can make something out of nothing.

I used the following AALL & Create materials

Border stamping block

Washi:
#7 - 25 mm
#6 - Crafty

Stencil:
#90 - Elegance by Olga Heldwein

Stamps:
#443 - Scripted circles by Bipasha Bk
#434 - Newsprint Numbers by Olga Heldwein
#391 - Orchid Cluster by Bipasha Bk
