Love with all your heart

Hello everyone,

and Happy Wednesday to you !

It is the second week of our 'Oldie but goodie' Challenge at Stampotique ! I have used some of my (many) favourite stamps for this postcard:

He is so cute isn't he ! The background was made by smooshing (technical term, lol) a piece of white Mixed Media card stock into Distress Oxide Inks. I love these inks, it is so easy to make nice colourful backgrounds. It is almost impossible to make muddy colours.
Anyway after I was happy with the background I stamped the Heart Vine on the card and coloured the stems with a white pen and added some pink to the hearts with a marker.
Next I stamped Heart Shirt, coloured him with my Copic Markers, cut him out and adhered him onto the card. I used a coloured pencil to add some ground under his feet. A sticker by Tim Holtz finished it off.
We hope you'll play along with us this week; you could win one of two $30 vouchers at the end of the month... just remember to read the rules first.

Play in the puddles...

Hello everyone,
Hallo allemaal,

Today I have an art journal page to share. I made this for my DT over at Hobbycompleet de Duif.

I made the background with the gelli plate. First a layer of light colours and then darker colours over the top. I also added some interest by pressing rubber-stamps into the wet paint on the plate before printing. Just remember to clean your stamps straight away.

When I was happy with the background, I stamped over the top with black Archival Ink and  I also white embossed a little. It all adds more interest.

I stamped the rats and the brolly on the background and also on white card stock, I coloured the images with Copic Markers, cut them out and adhered them to the background.

The sentiment is from Winnie the Pooh and I just made it with my old typewriter, cut it into strips and added it to my page. I also added some doodling around the words and around the page.

The usual suspects

Hello everyone,

Welcome to my blog. The weather is gorgeous today and as soon as I have done this blogpost I shall sit outside in the garden with a lovely glass of cold white wine !

I did fancy playing a little today and to not freak myself out too much (Mr. Mojo is still not completely back) I grabbed a gelli print that I made a while ago. I like the colours. I decided to use the Katzelkraft rats again as I think they are fantastic ! I combined them with background stamps which are all from VivaLasVegaStamps! as is the sentiment... and this art journal page is the result :

I really like the result and I hope Mr. Mojo is finally returning !

Thank you for stopping by today !!

Keep room in your heart

Hello everyone,

I am having some Mojo troubles at the moment and to try and ease myself back into crafting when this happens, I usually pull out a ready made background, a favourite stamp and my favourite colouring medium Copic Markers.

That's exactly what I did today and made this postcard :

This background was left over from an AJ page I did for Stampotique a while ago.
I stamped Hunk and coloured him, cut him out and adhered him. I added some shading for him to stand on and I thought this sentiment suited him. I added some colour to this too.

Thank you for stopping by today !

Not my circus...

Hello everyone,

and Happy Wednesday to you !

It is the first week of our 'Oldie but goodie' Challenge at Stampotique ! I have used some of my (many) favourite stamps for this tag:

This tag is made of Kraft card stock. I started by stamping Batboy and colouring him with Copic Markers. I always wanted to try colouring on Kraft and I think it came out nice.
I then stamped him again on masking paper and masked him so I could stamp the background. I used Distress Oxide inks for this. I added some water droplets for more interest but you can hardly see them.. I added some washi tape and the sentiment which is from a new set of quotes that came out in May. A piece of Sari ribbon finished off my tag.

We hope you'll play along with us this week; you could win one of two $30 vouchers at the end of the month... just remember to read the rules first.

Born to sing

Hello everyone,

Today for my DT post for Visible Image I have made a card with easily my most favourite VI stamp ever ! It is the singer... I love her.

This was a really easy card to make.. I started off with a piece of white card stock and I stamped the flower on it repeatedly with Distress Oxide Inks. With these inks you can just stamp over the top of the flowers with any colour. It won't turn to mud.
When this was done I cut out a square to fit my card; I chose the piece I liked best.
I then stamped the singer 3 times using a stamping tool so she is nice and black. I used the Tim Holtz stamping platform which is ideal for these solid images..
I then stamped the sentiment which is made out of two different stamp sets.  After everything was dry and to my liking I matted the panel onto black card stock and then on a white card.

I used the following stamps:

Hugs

Hallo allemaal,
Hello everyone,

Have you seen the new rat stamps by Katzelkraft ? The are called 'Les Rats des Villes' and I think they are fantastic ! I used two to make a CAS card for Hobbycompleet De Duif:

Op een stukje wit card stock de ratten gestempeld. Ik heb ze ingekleurd met Copic Markers. Daarna wat schaduw aangebracht onder hun pootjes en de tekst gestempeld. Deze is heel oud en was een van de eerste stempelset die ik kocht. Ik gooide toen nog alle verpakkingen weg dus ik heb geen idee van wie deze is. Maar ik ben er van overtuigd dat je zelf ook wel een stempel hebt die je hiervoor kan gebruiken...

I stamped them on a piece of white card stock, coloured them with Copic Markers and added some shading using a light grey. The sentiment is from an old set of clear stamps and I have no idea who's it is. It is from the days where I used to throw away all packaging.. But I am sure you have a stamp you could use for this...

Follow your dreams

Hello everyone, Hallo allemaal,
Today I have a card to show you.

For the background I have made a gelli print with acrylic paints and a rubber stamp. These are the leaves you can see. Make sure you clean your stamps after you used them with paint.
After that I stamped the background a little. I used orange Distress Oxide Ink. I also splattered some black diluted paint on it. I decided to use one of the Crazy birds as I think they are still very nice. I stamped him on the background and on white card stock. I coloured him with Copic Markers, cut him out and glued him on the one on the background. I then added the lines around the edges and the sentiment.

I used the following materials:

Pardon my French

Hello everyone,

Today I have a quick art journal to share. I had these stamps for a while but hadn't had time to try them out. They are by Catherine Moore and they are Paper Dolls essentially. There are whole 'people' and bits of people so you can build your own. I just had a play to see what it would look like.

First I made a background with PaperArtsy Acrylic Fresco paints and added some stamping with a foam stamp (Flower; very faint in the background) and some PaperArtsy Stamps and grey and green Archival Inks. Next I build this lady and I thought it was cute to stamp the 'skirt' straight on the page and the body and head on book paper. I then put them together. the little labels were stamped on the same book paper and randomly adhered as was the sentiment. If you look closely you can see that the language on the book text is indeed French !

Anyway I had fun making this.

Thanks for stopping by today !

Beep beep

Hello everyone,

Today, over at the Stampotique Designers' Challenge, it is the second week of the challenge with the theme  'For the boys'. I made a postcard :

I had this background in my stash, I think it was made with Lindy's Ink Spray.  I added some stamping to the background and then added the washi tape.
I stamped the cars on separate white card stock. I coloured them with Copic Markers, cut them out and adhered them onto the card, cutting one in half for more interest. I stuck the halves on either side and fitted the rest in between.

We would love you to play along with us. You could win one of the two $30 vouchers at the end of the month; make sure to read the rules first though...

Thinking of you

Hello everyone,

Welcome to my blog where today I have a second inspiration piece for  Country View Challenges. The theme is 'Flower Power' for this month so I have made a flowery card:

Here's how I made it:

I used a piece of a gelli print that I made recently with PaperArtsy Paints and a mask.

I used a Tim Holtz Stampset and coloured the flower heads I was using with Copic Markers.

I also stamped the flowers and stems onto the card panel. I coloured the stems with Faber Castell Big Brush Markers in two shades of green..

Next I cut out the flower heads I coloured and glued them onto the flowers on the card panel.

And here it is finished. I added some stamping and splattering onto the panel before glueing the flowers on. I also added a sentiment and a piece of torn washi tape. The panel was then glued onto a white card.

We hope you will play along with us this month ! Just read the rules first; you'll find them HERE

Thank you so much for stopping by today !

Strong women with a new VIDEO !

Hello everyone,

I am ashamed to see that I haven't made a YouTube video for a while ! So yesterday afternoon I had a little time to spare and filmed making a quick art journal page. I haven't added many words to it but if you have any questions about it, please let me know and I will answer them as well as I can.

I also still am not on top of the 'shaking' camera problems... if anyone knows why this is happening, please let me know. The camera is fixed and stable.

Anyway here is the page I made :

And here is the video:

Boys will be boys

Hello everyone,

Today, over at the Stampotique Designers' Challenge, there is a new challenge. The theme is 'For the boys'. Well for this occasion I had to get my favourite men out !!
I made a trio of ATC's :

The backgrounds were made with Acrylic paints, a gelli plate and some Distress Oxide Inks. I then added some stamping with the same blue Oxide and Archival Jet black ink.
I stamped the 'men' on the cards and on some separate card stock. I coloured them, cut them out and adhered them onto the cards, cutting off the excess.

I used the following stamps:

Caution

Hello everyone,

It is my turn to show you some inspiration with UmWow Studio Chipboard today ! I have made a 6"x6" art journal page on a piece of 7 Dots Studio paper from the Writer's block collection. I tried to make it a little fun !

First I painted the glasses.....

Next I used holographic (glittery) embossing powder and heat embossed the glasses...

It is nice and sparkly !

I used a vintage photo from Tim Holtz' lost relatives I think it is called. I cut her out...

I added red paint around the edges and used a big lid to stamp circles around the head. I added some rubber stamping (VivaLasVegaStamps!) and put the whole thing together using some bits and pieces that were lying around.

A close up....

and here she is again !

I used the Photo Booth Props today:

Free soul

Hello everyone,

and welcome to my blogpost for Visible Image where today I am showcasing one of the sentiment stamps... Visible Image have great word stamps and this is one of my favourites... I have paired the words with some Tim Holtz paper dolls, a piece of pattern paper with text on it and some PaperArtsy Fresco Paints.

I started with a piece of pattern paper which has all these advertisements printed on it. I glued it onto some white card stock as it was quite thin. I then used a brayer and some acrylic paints from PaperArtsy to knock the text back a little. Next I chose the people I wanted to use and decided where to stamp and place them.  I then stamped the sentiments. This is one stamp; I just used masking tape to selectively stamp the words. Next I placed the people and glued them down and added some 'ground' under them so they were not floating. Lastly I splattered some black paint on the page.

I used this stamp set :

Still just a rat....

Hello everyone,

It is my turn today to show you some VivaLasVegaStamps! inspiration and I have chosen one of the latest release Banksy stamps combined with some older stamps. I have made a postcard:

The base for this postcard is a 6"x4" piece of card stock which I coloured with Distress Oxide Inks. I also stamped a little with them....

The chain link fence and the rat with the bolt cutters were stamped directly onto the postcard. I used a white pen to add some detail to the rat.

the sentiment was stamped separately, cut out and adhered on pieces of washi tape. I used the same washi tape to stand the rat on.

And here it is again :

I hope you like him...
