This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hello everyone,

Happy Thursday ! For this week's Vera Lane Studio project I have made a postcard. I have used the newly released set 'Feel Good'.

I printed the image and one of the sentiments, coloured the girl and cut her out. The background is a gelli print mop up page from my stash. You can hardly see it but it has a stencil print in the background. I added stamping and inked up the edges. I put down some washi tape and glued the girl down. Lastly I added the sentiment.

You'll find this new set HERE.

Thank you for stopping by !

This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hello everyone,

Happy Thursday ! For this week's Vera Lane Studio project I have made a set of three ATC's. I have used the fun set 'Smoosh Fish' that came out this week. They are so much fun!

As always I printed and coloured the images. I used Copic Markers. I then cut them out. The backgrounds came from my stash. Every time I have a piece of coloured paper/background left I will check if it is big enough for an ATC and if it is I cut it to size and put it in my stash. I found these three were great together so decided to use them. I added, stencilling stamping and white paint where the fish were going so they would stand out more. I added dots with a paint pen and then glued the fish in place. The sentiments I used are from Janet's stamp set 'Party Dee'.
Lastly I matted them onto black card stock.

You'll find these fun fish HERE

This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hello everyone,

Happy Thursday ! For today's Vera Lane Studio project I have made a journal spread with an older image called 'Gratitude'.

I printed the images and coloured them with Copic Markers, then cut them out. I then started on the background which is made with Distress Oxide ink and a stencil. I smooshed the ink onto the stencil, spritzed with water and then printed it onto the pages. I have used Kitsch Flamingo and Peeled Paint. I then added some stamping and washi tape by AALL & Create and when that was done I placed the images and the sentiment on the pages.

You will find 'Gratitude' HERE

Thank you so much for stopping by today !

Blessed are the curious

 Hello everyone,

I am back with the second instalment for the 'vehicle' challenge over at Country View Challenges

I have made a postcard this time.

Here's how I made this simple postcard.

I used a piece of plastic to smoosh the ink on, sprayed it with water and smooshed it onto the paper. I dried in-between colours.

Adding some stamping with the same inks and I added some grey and black.

I then stamped the focal point directly onto the card and the sentiment onto a piece of separate paper.

I inked up the edges, added some Tim Holtz (very old) washi tape and glued down the sentiment.

Please play along with us ! You could win a £20 voucher to the shop.

This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hi everyone,

Happy Thursday! For this week's Vera Lane Studio project I have made a postcard with the newly released  set 'Smarty Plants'. I have used designer paper for the background to which I added a little stamping.

How cute is she? I printed the images and then coloured them and cut them out. I cut a panel of designer paper and used a small strip from the other side of the same paper as the ground at the bottom. I added a little stencilling and stamping and put the images and sentiment down on the card. I think it turned out really cute.

You will find this cute girl and her veggies HERE

The journey is the destination

 Hello everyone,

Another new month, another new challenge over at Country View Challenges. The theme this month was chosen by Monika and it is 'Vehicles'. We would love for you to play along with us but before you do, please read the rules on the CVC blog.

For this first project I have made a journal spread.

Here's how I made it:

I wanted to work in my journal so first thing I did was stamp the 'vehicle', a car in this case and a little stamp from the same set on the left top corner. Just for the fun of it. These stamps are by PaperArtsy.

I then used white paint to cover the pages; I wanted the next layers to move and not go directly into the paper. I also coloured the car with watercolour markers and coloured pencils.

I used Acrylic paints to colour the pages. I put it on and wiped it off. This only works when you have paint underneath. i wanted a very light and 'cloudy' effect.

I then used my trusty brayer and toned it all down with white paint.

Next, stamping; my favourite bit. I used inks in the same-ish colours and added grey and black.

I still was not happy and added some stencilling using white ink but it didn't show up much and it takes forever to dry so I sprinkled white embossing powder over it and heat embossed. It's nice and white and shiny now... and dry !

Some small talk stickers by Tim and some black splatters finished these pages off.

I hope this inspired you to take part in the challenge ! You could win a £20 voucher for the shop.

Thank you so much for stopping by today ! I will be back soon with more inspiration.
