I'll try anything once....

Hello everyone,

...twice if I like it, three times to make sure. I think that is a great quote and it was said by Mae West. It always makes me chuckle. So when Sargent came in the mail to me a few weeks ago, this quote was what I wanted to use with her.

and here she is. I love everything Daniel Torrente designs for Stampotique. In fact his stamps were what started my interest in Stampotique... and the rest is history as they say.

Anyway, the background of this journal page is a gelli print. I seem to use nothing else at the moment... note to self: start making backgrounds again !!!
I did some background stamping and then stamped her as well, once on the page to capture all the little marks around her that you can't cut out and once on white card stock. I coloured the latter with my Copic Markers, then cut her out and adhered her to the one on the page; I added some washitape first for there to stand on.
I used my old typewriter for the quote and adhered that too. A little doodling finished the page of..

Boo

Hello everyone,

It is my turn on the UmWow Studio blog today and I have made a postcard this time.

Not sure he is going to scare anyone though!

These are the chipboards I used.

I painted them with craft Acrylic paints and then put a layer of holographic embossing powder over the top.

They are so nice and shimmery !

For the rest of my postcard I used a gelli printed background and rubber stamps by VivaLasVegaStamps!

I used these chipboards:

You'll never know..

Hello everyone,

Today is my turn again for Katzelkraft. I have used the Jungle Animals again as I really like this set.
I have made an art journal page and this is it :

I started with a piece of Mixed Media paper and used a brayer and PaperArtsy Fresco paints to put some colour on. Next I stamped the background. A list of all the stamps I used is at the bottom of the post. I used inks in similar colours to the background and only stamped the blue part of the background. Next I stamped the Elephant and the wings and coloured them with Copic Markers.
I adhered them to the background and added some shading under the elephant.
Lastly I stamped the sentiment, cut it out and added some of the same paints as I used on the background. I then adhered them and doodled around the words and the edge of the page.

I used the following stamps:

Fly me to the moon

Hello everyone,

and welcome to yet a new Challenge over at the Stampotique Designers' blog. For the next two weeks the theme is "outer space". I have made an art journal page. I hope you will play along with us this time and if you do you could win one of two $30 vouchers to the shop... Make sure you read the (new) rules though; you'll find them on the SDC blog.

This page was really simple to put together.. I coloured a piece of paper with distress inks. I used Broken China, Chipped Sapphire, Black Soot and Dusty Concord. After blending I dripped some water on it to get some lighter spots. After it was all dry I heat embossed the stars with WOW Opaque Bright White Super Fine embossing powder.
Next I stamped Wilbur and the Rocket ship and coloured them with my Copic Markers. I drew some flames for the rocket and coloured those as well..
I used a die for the moon and I couldn't resist gluing on a piece of dictionary paper that explains the word 'moon'. The little face was stamped on acetate with StaZon ink. As this is part of a bigger stamp, this way, I could wipe away the bits that I didn't want with a cotton bud and some StaZon Cleaner. I then adhered the acetate to the moon with gel medium.
I then arranged all the elements on the page. The sentiment was typed and glued down too.

I used the following stamps:

The prettiest smiles..

Hello everyone,

It is raining here and I am nice and cosy in my hobby corner. So why not make an art journal ? lol. So that is what I did. I used PaperArtsy stamps and paints for this and I used my mini Moleskine journal. It is only small at 9 x 14 cm but I love it.

I used my small Gelliplate for the background. I printed straight in the book. I used three colours of PaperArtsy Fresco paint : Teresa Green for the first layer all over the background. Then Granny Smith on the left for the second layer; I also stamped into the wet paint with one of the colour wheel stamps from the 3rd Wanderlust stamp set. (Love the stamps, not so keen on the course... lol, but I seem to be one of very few.) Once this was all dry I used another stamp of the Wanderlust set, one of the triangles to add some texture. I stamped it straight and upside down alternatively so it formed a solid pattern. I think is adds some nice texture to the pages. Because I always need black on my pages too I used one of the other triangles and stamped it randomly, only using part of the stamp.
I added some doodling and then decided to add a little stamp in the doodle along the edge too. This one is from one of Clare Lloyds's girl sets. That was the background done.
The girl is my favourite of set ECL03 by Clare Lloyd and I stamped her on white card stock, coloured her with my Copic Markers and cut her out. I adhered her on to the page adding the sentiment, which is from the same set, on the other page.
I went around the words with a green Copic Makers before adhering them.

Born to be wild

Hello everyone,

For my DT post for VivaLasVegaStamps! I have made a tag. I had a bit of a struggle with it though as at one point I thought I would have to throw it away !

This tag was cut from a gelli print. I put so much stuff over the top that you can't see the print anymore ! lol. That was the reason I almost threw it away...
First I stamped the cat on white card stock and coloured her with Copic Markers, then cut her out. Next I added the circles to the tag because I thought the cat didn't stand out enough.
I took it to my sewing machine and added some stitching. So far, so good. I then started stamping and I think I just stamped too much... I used a load of stamps and inks and ended up using some punchinella and white paint to cover some of it up or at least make it less visible. In the end I think I  do like it.

I used the following stamps:

Boo

Hello everyone,

Welcome to the second week of the 'Halloween' (#259) challenge at the Stampotique Designers' Challenge blog. We hope you will play along with us; just read the rules first please. You'll find them on the SDC blog.

I have made a postcard for this week:

I started off with a gelli print. I made a few especially for Halloween and this one I particularly liked. I know it is not very Halloween in colour but I tried to make up for the lack of spookyness with my main character. His name is Friend and I stamped him on marker paper and on the card. I did this because you can't cut out all the little sticky bits on the side. When you glue the one on the markerpaper over the top, even though you have cut off all the little bits, it will look perfect.

After colouring Friend I stamped the web on the card and heat embossed it with silver powder. I stamped the spider over the top. I also stamped him on markerpaper and coloured him. I cut him out, cutting off his legs and adhering the body to the spider in the web. Next I stamped the sentiment and added some random stamping in two corners, top left and bottom right.
Lastly I went around the card with a black Archival Inkpad.

I used the following stamps:

Thank you so much for stopping by ! I hope you'll make something too and enter it into the competition. You might win a $30 gift card !

A gentle heart.

Hello everyone,

and welcome to today's post for UmWow Studio

I have been playing with some more muted colours in the last few days. Maybe because I am sad that summer is over? Who knows. What I do know is that I thoroughly enjoyed my experimenting.
This art journal spread is an example of this experiment.

The base of this journal spread is a piece of Pattern paper from the Nature Walk series designed by DeeDee Catron. She is so very talented !

Here's how I did it:

I cut the 12 x 12 to size (I actually changed this later as I cut off the white from the left page. Later I decided I wanted the pattern of the splatters to continue...

Next I used some modelling paste through a piece of punchinelle (sequin waste) and dried it gently with my heat gun..

Next I thought it would be fun to use some gilding flakes. I usually avoid using them at all cost as they go everywhere... lol
I think the result was worth it though.

How fab is that ?

Another look...

Next I used some black embossing glitter to colour and coat the heart. It is not really a glitter, more a glint...

After did all that, I started stamping the background, of course I forgot to take more photos... All stamps I used are by VivaLasVegaStamps! (What else?) and I used different colours of Archival ink. The sentiment was stamped on the page directly but I messed up so I stamped it again on a piece of the same paper but turned around; I inked the edges and added some brads and then added it on top of the one I messed up. The flowers in the heart were a piece of ribbon that I was given. It was pink and I coloured it with inks to match the rest of the page.
I glued the pages in my journal and that was that ! I really like how it came out.

I used this chipboard:

Scribble heart and you'll find it HERE

So stop by each member's blog, check out their project, leave 'em a little love then come on back here and tell us your favorite thing about Halloween! One comment per blog = 7 comments. 7 comments = an entry into the drawing for our gift certificate.

I have created a duo of tags.

I cut them from white card stock and coloured them with Distress Inks. I used gray and orange.
I dripped some water on them and dried it with the heat gun to get some lighter spots. I also stamped the background randomly, using the same gray and orange inks. I added some white and black stamping for interest. (There is a list of all the stamps that I used at the bottom of this post.)
I stamped Frankenstein and the Bride of Frankenstein seperately on white card stock and coloured them very lightly with Copic Markers, cut them out and adhered them to the tags. I combined him with some gravestones (stamped separately as well, coloured and cut out) and her with blood drips (stamped directly on the tag with red ink).
The words are quotes from the 'Frankenstein' and 'Bride of Frankenstein' movies and I typed them on my old typewriter. I cut them into strips and adhered them to the tags too, adding a little shading after they were glued down.
Lastly I added some ribbon.

I used the following stamps:

Mécanique

Hello everyone,

For my DT post for Katzelkraft today I have made a masculine card. I have great trouble with cards for men but I quite like this one.

I used a gelli printed background and did some randome stamping. I then used the gear stamp and stamped it with Flitter flu by Indigoblu as I wanted to use their Megaflakes. The colour I used is Royal Peacock and in the tub you'll find copper/gold/teal/silver gilding flakes. I think it is fab but it makes a terrible mess ! lol

Anyway, after I was happy with the background I stamped the gentleman on a piece of Pattern paper and did the same with the sentiment. I inked the edges of the pieces of paper and of the card panel with Distress Ink. Next I adhered the pieces to the card and added an American postage stamp just for fun ! The panel was then adhered to a black mat and to a white card.

I used the following stamps :

Happy Halloween

Hello everyone,

and Happy Wednesday! It is time for another challenge over at the Stampotique Designers' Challenge blog and for the next two weeks the theme is "Halloween". We would love it if you played along with us. Just read the rules on the blog first please..

Anyway I have made a tag and this is it :

This is a one layer tag. I started with stamping the cat in grey ink and then coloured her with dark grey Copic Markers to get the idea of a black cat. I coloured the eyes yellow.
I then stamped Marci and coloured her. Next I used a few green markers to add the grass.
I then switched to Distress Inks and used a blending tool to add the blue and the purple for the sky, taking care not to ruin my colouring work. I dripped some water on it to get this mottled look.
I also added some background stamping which you can hardly see.
Next I stamped the crows and extended the wire they sit on across the tag.
Lastly I stamped the sentiment with VersaMark and white embossed it.

I used the following stamps:

Shine bright ! a new VIDEO !!

Hello everyone,

and welcome to my blog where today I have another art journal page to share. This one is for Visible Image.
I had this idea of using some of the foil you see everywhere these days and used it with a glue that is made for this so, you guessed it, it didn't work ! Duh.... But I think I rescued the page and I actually like it. Instead of painting my background I used a piece of pattern paper by 7 Dots Studio today.

I have used the following stamps for this :

Stampotique Designers' Challenge #258 - your favourite quote - week 2

Hello everyone,

and welcome to my blog where today I have made an art journal with my favourite quote of all times. It is a quote by Winnie the Pooh and I love it...

I hope you will play along with us this week. I am sure you have a favourite quote too. You could win a $30 gift certificate to the online store.. Just make sure you read the new rules HERE.

Here goes:

I started off with a gelli print and addd some stamping. For the text I used black Archival Ink and for the circles I used VersaMark with white embossing powder by WOW. Next I stamped the hearts on some book paper, cut them out and coloured in the small hearts. I then stamped Daisy Head, coloured her with my Copic Markers, cut her out and adhered her to the page. I then arranged the hearts around her. The quote was typed on my old typewriter; I used the edge of the same book paper to get the same colour paper. It then was adhered to the left side of the page. I added some coloured pencil at the bottom and right side of the text strips. Lastly I doodled around the page with a white gel pen.
That was it...

I used the following stamps for this art journal:

She was a wildflower

Hello everyone,

and welcome to today's UmWow Creative Team post.

For today's post I have created a tag :

I will try and explain how I made this...

First, on a gessoed tag, I applied Golden's Glass Bead Gel through some sequin waste.
This is what that looks like :

I then added some spray inks. I used Lindy's Stampgang Sprays.

Next I added a doily.

It just adds a little subtle detail I think. I also added some background stamping. I used a little script stamp by VivaLasVegaStamps!

Next I started to work on the chipboard:

I used a green Copic marker to colour the stem and added some gesso to the flowers. I then added some colour with coloured pencils.

Next I put the whole thing together:

I also added some doodling around the edge and a sentiment. I stamped it on white card stock, inked the edges and matted it on a piece of brown pattern paper. I then adhered it to the tag with dimensional tape.  Lastly I added some lacey ribbon.

Here are some close-ups...

I hope I have inspired you to dust off those chipboards and start using them.. they are so versatile..

I have used only one today :

You'll find it HERE.

Floral set, I used the bluebell.
