Beauty abounds

 Hello everyone,

For today's AALL & Create project I have made a journal page. This week I have used mainly products by Bipasha Bk. Her flower and bird drawings are superb!

Here's how I made this page:

First I made a 'mop up' page with the gelli plate. I just put on different colours of acrylic paint, usually light colours, making sure I keep complementary colours separate so I don't make mud.
Next I added a stencil print with Distress Oxide ink.

Next I stamped part of the top left flower on my page in three places and heat embossed them with white powder. I know you can't see them yet but you will....

I then used watercolour markers to cooler them. I used the paint pen for the hearts of the flowers adding little dots.

Next I stamped randomly with Versafine Clair. I usually use a light colour for the bigger stamps and grey and black for the smaller ones.

This is the bird I was going to use. I coloured him in pink and didn't like it so stamped him again and coloured him blue the second time. Much better !

How lovely is he?

Then I got carried away and forgot to take more pictures. I only added a piece of washi tape and glued the bird down. The sentiment is a piece of washi tape that I mounted on a piece of paper. I also added white splatters using a paint pen.

I used the following products:

Washi tape:
#31 - Take Risks by Autour de Mwa
#24 - Power Words by Bipasha Bk

Stencil:
#127 - Bloomed Roses by Bipasha Bk

Stamps:
#443 - Scripted Circles by Bipasha Bk
#568 - ABC's by Bipasha Bk
#710 - Perched Among Petals by Bipasha Bk
#745 - Visiting The Flowers by Bipasha Bk
#748 - Add A Motto by Bipasha Bk

This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hello everyone,

For this weeks Vera Lane Studio project I have made an ATC with the set 'Bookshelf' which was released this week.

I printed and coloured her, then cut her out together with one of the sentiments of the set.
The background is from my stash and all I added was white paint with a brayer and a few pieces of washi tape. I also doodled around the cared and underneath the words.

You'll find 'Bookshelf' HERE.

Gym and tonic

 Hi everyone,

Welcome to my blog where today I am sharing a card I made for AALL & Create. I used another one of the Miss Dees. I think she is hilarious. I did change the sentiment a little to make it fit my feelings towards exercise. Lol

Here's how:

First, I made a gelli print with this stencil and acrylic paint.

Next I added stamping, I used Versafine Clair Inks.

I then used white paint to tone it down, added white splatters with a paint pen and went around the edges with a pallet knife and black acrylic paint.

Next I stamped the Dee I wanted to use and some sentiments which I will use to make a new sentiment.

I added washi tape on the card for Dee to stand on and coloured her with Copic Markers. Initially I coloured her pants and scrunchy blue but then decided green would be better so I just went over with a green marker. I then cut her out and assembled the sentiment.

The finished card. Lastly I glued the panel onto a white card and added turquoise pencil under the words.

I have used the following materials:

Stencil #136 - Bug Hotel by Autour de Mwa
Washi tape #20 - Verde Que Te Quiero Verde by Janet Klein
Stamps:
#339 - Colour Theory
#692 - Africal Voices
#758 - Hidden Words
#789 - Workout Dee
#786 - Travel Dee
#785 - Therapist Dee
All by Janet Klein

This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hello everyone,

Happy Thursday!

For today's Vera Lane Studio Project I have made a tag.

This cutie is from the set 'Sweet life'.  I printed and coloured her and cut out. The background is a mop up page from the gelli plate to which I added a little stamping. I added some of Janet's washi tape and placed her on top. I coloured some of Tim Holtz' crinckle ribbon and I added the sentiment and some doodling and that was that!

You'll find here HERE.

Anything is possible

 Hello everyone,

Welcome to another project for AALL & Create. This week I have used Tracy's stamps, stencils by Abs and washi tape by Bipasha for an artjournal page.

Here's how:

I had this piece of typing paper in my stash. It was used to mop up the last bits of paint from my gelli plate after a printing session. Sometimes the mop ups are nicer than the actual prints I think. So, I added stencilling using the same ish colours ink. I used Distress Oxide inks in Salvaged Patina and Rusty Hinge.

After the stencilling I used a brayer and some off white paint to tone it down a little. I then added stamping in the same colours as I used for the stencilling.

Next, more stamping, this time with grey and black Versafine Clair inks.

Added some washi tape. I chose this one because it had some of the same colours as my background. I just cut out the different 'passport stamps'.

Using a black marker went around the edges of the paper and I also added black splatters with a paint pen.

Next I stamped the butterfly that I wanted to use for my focal point. I stamped it on a piece of card that I dunked into the same Distress Oxide inks again. I also toned that down with the same off white paint.

I then added some colour with watercolour markers and white splatters and doodles for which I used a white paint pen.

Stamping the sentiment.

And here it is all put together.
Because it was typing paper I put the whole page on a sheet of 'stick it'. I basically made it into a huge sticker and then put it in my art journal. It is nice and flat now.

I have used the following AALL & Create materials:

Stencils:
#39 - Lotza Dotz by Autour de Mwa
#105 - Lotza Trianglz by Autour de Mwa
Washi tape:
#14 - Passport Stamps by Bipasha Bk
Stamps:
#757 - Tickets by Tracy Evans
#304 - Heartfelt by Tracy Evans
#755 - Round Digits by Tracy Evans
#730 - Geometric Butterflies by Tracy Evans
#533 - Bring On The Sentiments by Tracy Evans

This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hello everyone,

Happy Thursday !

For today's Vera Lane Studio post I have made a postcard with an older set called 'French Holiday'.

The girl and the dog were printed and coloured, then cut out. I made the background with a stencil print. I rubbed Distress Oxide ink over a stencil, spritzed with water and printed it on the paper. I added white paint to tone it down, some stamping and a strip of washi tape to put the image on. I added a sentiment from the same set and that was that !

You'll find this adorable set HERE

Annoying you...

 Hello everyone,

Welcome to my blog where today I am sharing a postcard that I made for AALL & Create.

Here's how:

I made a background on watercolour paper with Distress Oxide inks. I used Tumbled Glass and Broken China. I also used a brayer to add some white paint over top.

Using this cat with the fishbowl as a focal point. I was going to use part of the bad cats sentiment but decided against it later.

Bit of stamping here and there. The circles were embossed with white powder. I also stamped the cat on the card so I got all the little marks around it. I can't cut those out..

Added some orange and white splatters and some washi tape. The cat was cut out together with the little fish on the side. I coloured them with watercolour markers.

In the end I decided on this sentiment, but only because I actually do not really like cats....lol I am a dog person.

And here it is all together. I added some orange with a watercolour marker on the bottom of the words.

I have used :

Stencil #136 - Bug Hotel by Autour de Mwa
Washi tape #19 - Wishy Washi
Stamps:
#787 - Valentine Dee by Janet Klein
#457 - Background Voices by Bipasha Bk
#625 - Vine by Tracy Evans
#366 - Roundly by Autour de Mwa
#793 - Bad Cats Club by Dominic Phillips

Happy Birthday

 Hello everyone,

I am back with the second project for the first Challenge over at Country View Challenges for this year. The theme is Time/clocks and was set by Evelyn.

Here's how:

Started with stamping this stamp by Tracy Evans for AALL & Create. (#733 - Temporal)  I stamped the butterfly another time to layer of the top.

Coloured the butterfly with Distress Ink re inkers and a brush. I then cut it out.

The background was watercoloured with a mixture of Distress Inks and watercolours. I kept adding layers until I was happy.

I layered the butterfly on top and added shading around it so it looks to stand out.

I added a sentiment, another set by AALL & Create , this time by Janet Klein. (#666 Every Day Sentiments)
I matted the panel on some grey card stock and then adhered it to the card.

We would like it if you played along with us! You could win a £20 voucher for the shop. Just remember to read the RULES before you enter !
