This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hello everyone,

Happy Thursday ! For today's Vera Lane Studio projects I have made a mini journal page a postcard. I used older images for both of them.

Like last week I used backgrounds form my stash for both projects. This page was cut to size to put it into my journal. I just added some stamping, some black paint along the edges and some washi tape. I then printed, coloured and cut out the image which is called "New Dress". I used a sentence out of an old book to add as a sentiment. This works really well; if you like the Tim Holtz Clippings then have a look through an old book. You'll find lots of sentences and words you can use.

You'll find New Dress HERE

For this postcard I added some white paint to yet another background from my stash and used the leftover paint to stamp the numbers (stamp by Janet via AALL & Create). The fish was printed and coloured with Copic Markers and cut out. I placed him on the background where the white paint is to make him stand out more. I then added a small talk sticker as a sentiment. After added some white lines along the edges I called it done !

You'll find this fish from the set Marine Mammals HERE

Birthday wishes

 Hello everyone,

Welcome to my blog where today I am sharing a card that I made with a new stencil by Bipasha Bk for AALL & Create. I wanted this to be the main feature.

and here is how I made this:

To make a background like this you start with putting your stencil of choice on your gelli plate. A stencil with lots of open spaces works best.

Take your alcohol ink (or Copic Refills will work too) and add the desired colours to the stencil.  I used green in the leaf areas and two shades of pinks for the flowers. It doesn't have to be too precise. Let this dry.

When it is dry pull off the stencil. It will look like this. You then use a brayer and put a thin layer of acrylic paint over it. I used white but you can use any light colour.

You then put your paper on the gelli plate and take a print.

I really like how this came out.

I then stamped this butterfly to go on my card. I chose this one because it was the smallest and I wanted the stencil to shine!

I coloured the butterfly and cut it out. I also stamped a sentiment.

Before putting the butterfly on the panel I added a little white paint over the area where I wanted it to go so it would stand out a little more. I matted the sentiment on black card and adhered that too.

I then glued the panel onto a white card base.

I have used the following AALL & Create products:

Stencil #127 - Bloomed Roses by Bipasha Bk
Stamp set #451 - In the bucket by Tracy Evans
Stamp set #449 - Through the meadows by Tracy Evans

This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hello everyone,

Happy Thursday! For today's Vera Lane Studio project I have made an ATC with the newly released "Create" set.

He was coloured with Copic Markers and cut out. I placed him on an ATC background from my stash. I have decided to try and use these backgrounds up because some of them have been in that box for years.. lol. Anyway this is a piece of a menu from a fish restaurant. I gelli printed it. The sentiment I used is from the same set.
You'll find this cute little guy HERE

The second project is this postcard made with yet another background from my stash. I glued it onto my postcard base and cut off the right hand edge. I then added a piece of Janet's fab washi tape by AALL & Create and put one of the flower girls on the circle. The sentiment is a stamp by AALL & Create too.

You'll find the collage sheet flower girls HERE

Bear

 Hello everyone,

Welcome to my blog where today I am sharing a journal page that I made for AALL & Create. This time there is also a VIDEO for those of you who want to see how I made this. There is a little bit of footage missing unfortunately but it is not much and you still get the gist of how it came together.

here's how : (link to video below)

I started with stamping the crown and masking the bottom, then stamping the bear so he ended up with the crown on his head. I then masked off his hands and stamped the heart.

I coloured him with watercolours this time. Love these, they are professional Winsor and Newton watercolours and they are pretty amazing.

Next, I forgot to take a picture... lol. But this bit is in the video. I started with a brayer and lemon yellow paint covering the whole piece of paper (6" x 6"). I then used a gelli plate and the brayer again and put some orange paint down in three places on the gelli plate. I then laid the stencil on it and rolled over again, adding the pattern of the stencil to the gelli plate. I then puled a print. Next I randomly stamped the background.

I then added some washi tape.

I used this set to make the word bear. I used my stamping platform stamping in yellow first and then adding the orange-y colour to the bottom of the letters creating an ombre effect.

Adding another strip of washi tape to put the bear on.
Next I used texture paste and this stencil to add some more interest to the background.

I cut out the letters and put them down to spell bear. That finished the page.

Star Struck

 Hello everyone,

Welcome to my blog where today I am sharing a mini album I made for AALL & Create. I used a brand-new die for this.

Here's how I made this:

I started with cutting this die out of a piece of watercolour paper that I had coloured with Distress Oxide inks.

I used an Eileen Hull die to cut the book covers and spine and then coloured them using Distress Inks. I splattered some water to create some more interest. I also stamped the cover all over with this stamp set by Bipasha using the same Distress Inks; I wanted a subtle effect. I did the same with the die cut.

Here's a close up.

Next I added splatters with paint pens and adhered the die cut onto the cover. I used half on the front and half on the back. The stars that fell out were glued on the front.

Next I added some embossing with yet more stars!

I went around some of the die cut with a white paint pen and coloured in some of the stars. I think this was a mistake. Should have left it..
I added a sticker and that was that..

The back of the book.

I have used the following materials:
Die #24 - Moon stars by Bipasha Bk
Stamp set # 485 - Reverse Stars by Autour de Mwa
Stamp set #457 - Background voices by Bipasha Bk

This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hello everyone,

Happy Thursday! For today's projects I have a mini journal page and an ATC.

This little gardening girl is from a new set that came out this week. It is called 'Jardin'. I coloured her, cut her out and placed her on a simple watercolored background.

You'll find her HERE

This ATC was made with an image from the 'Off Vera Lane' collage sheet. I just found a suitable already coloured ATC from my stash and added more paint and heat embossing. I then glued her and the clouds on the card. The sentiment is a snarky sticker by Tim Holtz.

You'll find this collage sheet HERE

Choose to shine - a card for AALL & Create

 Hello everyone,

Welcome to my blog where I am sharing a card for AALL & Create today. I am a little obsessed with rainbow colours at the moment so I decided to use them for this card.

And here's how:

First I embossed this stamp on my card panel. I used white embossing powder by WOW.

Here is is a little clearer.

I then used Distress Oxide inks to colour the panel. I used 'Carved Pumpkin', 'Mustard Seed', 'Cracked Pistachio', 'Broken China' and 'Wilted Violet'. I smooshed the pads on my craft sheet one at a time, dunked and dried. I repeated this until I was happy.

Next: I used some of the circles of the bottom right stamp to add some more interest to the panel.

I also added some washi tape.

The focal images is the butterfly from the left bottom stamp. I wanted to keep it black and white to make it stand out more and that is what I did. I just added some shading.

The sentiment came from this set and a stamped it onto the blank edge of this book paper.

I matted the sentiment onto black card and also went around the card with a blending tool and black ink to edge it.

I then matted the panel on black card stock and then glued it onto a card blank.

I really like how it came out.

I have used the following stamps & washi tape:

Stamp #459 - Lined Triangles by Bipasha Bk
Stamp #451 - In the Bucket by Tracy Evans
Stamp #449 - Through the meadows by Tracy Evans
Washi tape #17 - Mix & Match by Janet Klein
