Proof of fun

Hello fellow Crafters,

and happy Hump day to you. As it is Wednesday there is another Challenge up over on the Stampotique Designers' Challenge blog.
This week's challenge was set by the lovely and very talented Kay Wallace and she chose : black and white with a pop of colour, as her theme.
This is what she said :

"It is my turn to host the Stampotique Designers' Challenge this week!  What might seem like a simple challenge to most, for some, whose work is generally full of color, it really will be a challenge.  But, for all of us, it's good to try something different. I have been on a black'n'white artistic kick lately because I love the crisp freshness it can bring to a card, journal page or ATC. Whatever you decide to do, keep it black and white with just a pop of color!  Get creative this week and join us!"

Now if you fancy winning $30,- worth of Stampotique Stamps, why not play along. There is a challenge every week and at the end of the month there are 2 prizes of $30,- to be won. Only rules : NO digi's and only on entry per challenge per person.....
Here is the birthday card I created :

Unfortunately the photo doesn't do it any justice as you can't see any of the shading on the cat. Sorry about that. I take pictures with my iPhone and it doesn't seem to be able to cope with some colours, like orange.
Anyway, this project was fairly easy. I took a panel of white card stock, and some patterned paper. I matted the patterned paper on black card stock and adhered it to the panel. I then stamped the sentiment on a separate bit of card stock with Distress Ink and matted that on black card stock as well. The cat was stamped on white card stock, coloured with Copic Markers and cut out with a little white border. I adhered it to the panel halfway on and off the patterned paper with pop dots. Next I adhered the rhinestones, they were clear by the way; I coloured them with an orange Copic Marker. Lastly I glued the panel onto a square card.

I used the following stamps :

Published in Stampers' Sampler !!

Hello fellow Crafters,

At the end of January 2014 I decided to take my chances on being published in the Stampers' Sampler. So I made some cards for their "A different point of view' section. It is all about how you can make different cards using the same stamp.  I used one of my favourite stamps from Stampotique for this.  She is called 'Mela'. I never, in my wildest dreams,  thought they would get published, but they did ! One of them even made the front cover !  I was so happy and excited !!! Here are the cards that made it into the magazine, starting with the one that made it onto the front cover !  :

Nobody gets me like you :

Love & giggles:

Friend:

Party time:

Stop and smell the flowers:

I am very grateful for being published. It was the first time and I was soooooo  excited !!!

Thank you Stampington !!!

And, thank you for stopping by !

Hope you like them enough to buy the magazine.....

Steampunk tag

Hello fellow Crafters,

Over at the Tag Along Challenge Blog the theme was set by the lovely Kay Wallace and she chose Steampunk. Not my strongest point but because of being on holiday I hadn't played for a while and decided to give it a go. This is what I made:

I used some pattern paper to start with and edged it with Distress Inks in Tattered Rose and Vintage Photo. I then did some background stamping in the same colours but also used Archival ink. The Steampunk balloon was stamped directly onto the tag with Versafine Ink, as was the phrase 'steampunk relic'. Next I found a set of metal wings which I attached underneath the balloon. I matted the whole think onto black and put some ribbon through the hole.

That was it..
Thanks for stopping by !

Hope you like it ...

Jingle your own damn bells !

Hello fellow Crafters,

It's Wednesday again an that means another challenge over at the Stampotique Designers' Challenge blog. If you participate you have the chance of winning $30,- worth of Stampotique stamps at the end of each month. You can enter one project every week. You can use any stamps but digi's are not allowed. We would love to see you use some Stampotique stamps though.
This week Gezzy set the challenge and this is what she said :

"Hi Gez here, I am delighted to be your hostess for this weeks challenge.
It's never too early to start thinking about Christmas right?!! ;-) I thought it would be nice for us to spread a wave of festive cheer throughout Blogland!
Every year I set out with good intentions and imagine a great big stack of handmade Christmas cards all ready to send out nice and early in December, in reality I think it's happened once! So, lets do it together! Dig deep and crack open the Christmas stash box early!!
This is a fun challenge, I hope you enjoy it too!
The Design Team have lots of creative inspiration to get your festive mojo ringing! Happy creating!"

Not easy to think of snow and Christmas when it is hot outside but here is mine :

I started off with a bit of Gelli print on which I did a bit of background stamping and I also doodled the snowflakes. I stamped 'Smile' on white card stock and coloured him, clear embossed him and cut him out. I decided to use a Christmas postage stamp and adhered this just behind little Smile. I placed him on some washi tape. The sentiment was stamped,  cut apart and adhered to the panel. Lastly I adhered the panel to a square card base.

I used the following Stampotique Stamps :

Itsy bitsy...

Hello fellow Crafters,

Over at the Tag Along challenge blog the theme this week was set by the lovely Carol and she chose "bright sunny colours". I thought I use one of my gelli prints in yellow and orange for the background as they are very sunny colours. Then I thought: sunny, yellow.... itsy bitsy, teenie weenie yellow polka dot bikini. So here it is :

After glueing the gelli print on the tag, I did some background stamping with France's fabulous 'French journal' and 'Splattered mug' stamps. Also splattered some white ink on it.
'Goat monster' has become a girl for today, or maybe he is a cross dresser???? I stamped him on white paper, drew the bikini on him, gave him some eyelashes and coloured him with Copics. I then cut him out and adhered him to the tag, grounding him on some very sunny washi tape. The sentiment was handwritten on white paper and adhered to the tag. I doodled around the bits of paper with a black marker.

Thanks for stopping by !

Round Robin

Hello fellow Crafters,

The washing and ironing is done after the holiday and I am happy to be able to craft with all my stuff around me again.
Today I did an art journal for the Round Robin via de Craftorij.

I started with painting the pages green, blue and a bit of white. I then did some background stamping. I found some watercolour paper which had already similar colours on it and I stamped the border on that, cut it out and adhered it to the edges of the page on top of some book text. I then drew a line around the edge of the pages. Spidergirl was stamped on the same book text and clear embossed. I gave her a little party hat. The sentiment was made using sticky letters. I adhered them to the blank bits of the book text I used and adhered them to the page with gel medium.

I used the following Stampotique Stamps:

Off with their heads

Hello fellow Crafters,

Today is Wednesday and that means another challenge over at the Stampotiqe Designers' Challenge blog. Today's challenge was set by the wonderful, very talented France Papillon and this is what she said :

"Hi! My name is France and I'm a bookworm. No doubt there are a lot of other bookworms among our lovely Stampotiquers.
I would like to know about your favorite books. So my challenge for you, should you accept it, is to create a piece, inspired by your favorite book. Let the story, the title, the cover, a quote inspire you! Now you might have a problem choosing your all time favorite book, don't worry, it's not like you are writing it in stone, just pick one. Or maybe your problem is that you don't like reading at all. Here is how to cheat: go for your favorite film based on a book, we won't tell ;)))
Have a great week all!
xx"

I love books and children's books alike. So for today I chose 'Alice in Wonderland' as my inspiration.
I made a postcard:

I started out with a postcard sized piece of white card stock which I painted with light yellow acrylic paint. I then brushed some pink Distress ink over it. I used the same ink to stamp a bit of text and of course I had to use my trusty bottle top again.  I also used a bit of foam (packing material) which I cut into a harlequin shape and used white ink to stamp with it. Next I stamped (part of) the barcode. The Queen of Hearts was stamped on white card stock and coloured with Copic Markers. After cutting her out I adhered her on her barcode. I then stamped the banner in the left top corner and also on pattern paper in nice pastel colours. I cut the little flags out and adhered them on top of the stamped ones. The sentiment is from Alice in Wonderland and was made with a label maker.

I used the following Stampotique stamps:
Queen of Hearts (Janet Klein)
Barcode (France Papillon)
Banner (France Pappilon)
Fax to Wolfgang (Amy Wilson Wellenstein)

Pink attitude

Hello fellow Crafters,

It is Wednesday again and that can only mean one thing : It is Stampotique Designers' Challenge day. Today's challenge was set by the lovely, talented Magda and the theme she chose is: 'Use a bit of newspaper or magazine' so that's what I did.
Here's a picture of the page I cut the bit of paper from, it is a clothing catalogue:

Notice the hole on her belly !!! LOL.....

So here is my ATC that I created from this piece of paper :

I glued the paper from the catalogue on an ATC-sized bit of card stock. I went around the edges with Archival ink. Next I stamped Stampotique's  Goat Monster on white card stock and coloured him with Copic Markers. I picked a bit of paper from my stash, which was pink and had some stamping on it to make my banner and used sticky letters to make the sentiment. I also went around this with the Archival Inkpad. Lastly I glued everything down and that was that !!!

Thanks for stopping by !

Wednesday 2 July 2014

Eat. Beach. Sleep. Repeat.

Hello fellow Crafters,

Today's Challenge was set by Kathi and she chose the theme : Bon Voyage/Vacation. This is what she said :

"It's the summer here, which means it's the perfect time for a break from your everyday activities, like school or work! My challenge this week is Vacation and/or Travel!

There's a lot of latitude (pun intended) with this challenge! I can't wait to see what you all create!"
I chose to go with the vacation theme as we are probably all ready for a holiday at this time of the year.
Why not hop over to the Stampotique Designers' Challenge Blog and have a go as well. You could win a $30,- gift certificate to spend in the Stampotique Shop. Just no digi's and only one entry per person.
This is what I made :

This is a little art journal. The background was made with Pan Pastels and I stamped over the background with a text stamp. I didn't want to do too much as it is a beach scene after all. I then stamped the bar code on the right. Next I stamped the girl on white card stock and coloured her and cut her out. I also stamped her on the page. Next I adhered her on top of the image on the page. Lastly I stamped the sentiment, cut out all the letters, adhered them and used a black marker to doodle around them.
I used the following Stampotique stamps :
Barcode (designed by: France Papillon)
Fax to Wolfgang (designed by: Amy Wilson Wellenstein)
Typewriter Alpha  (designed by France Papillon)
Beach Beauty (designed by Janet Klein)

Thanks for stopping by !

Unleash yourself

Hello fellow Crafters,

Today is the 1st of July, wow half a year gone already ! This is my project for the Roc Nicholas Design Team. It is a little canvas :

The canvas is 18 x 18 cm or about 6 x 6 inches. I used a stencil and modelling paste to put the doily on and adhered a few bits of dictionary paper to the canvas as well. I then used my CaranD'ache water-soluble crayons to put the colour on; I just scribbled them on and then used my fingers to spread the colour around. I used Faber Castel Big Brush markers around the edges and here and there to accentuate the doily. I then used the Heart Vine stamp around the edges and coloured it in with the Big Brush markers also. I the stamped the 'Unleash yourself' straight on the canvas and used a white paint pen and some more of the crayons to colour the letters. Lastly I stamped the Flying bird on white card stock twice, coloured them and adhered them to the canvas with gel medium.

I used the following 'Roc Nicholas' stamps which are available HERE:
