Proof of fun

Hello fellow Crafters,

and happy Hump day to you. As it is Wednesday there is another Challenge up over on the Stampotique Designers' Challenge blog.
This week's challenge was set by the lovely and very talented Kay Wallace and she chose : black and white with a pop of colour, as her theme.
This is what she said :

"It is my turn to host the Stampotique Designers' Challenge this week!  What might seem like a simple challenge to most, for some, whose work is generally full of color, it really will be a challenge.  But, for all of us, it's good to try something different. I have been on a black'n'white artistic kick lately because I love the crisp freshness it can bring to a card, journal page or ATC. Whatever you decide to do, keep it black and white with just a pop of color!  Get creative this week and join us!"

Now if you fancy winning $30,- worth of Stampotique Stamps, why not play along. There is a challenge every week and at the end of the month there are 2 prizes of $30,- to be won. Only rules : NO digi's and only on entry per challenge per person.....
Here is the birthday card I created :

Unfortunately the photo doesn't do it any justice as you can't see any of the shading on the cat. Sorry about that. I take pictures with my iPhone and it doesn't seem to be able to cope with some colours, like orange.
Anyway, this project was fairly easy. I took a panel of white card stock, and some patterned paper. I matted the patterned paper on black card stock and adhered it to the panel. I then stamped the sentiment on a separate bit of card stock with Distress Ink and matted that on black card stock as well. The cat was stamped on white card stock, coloured with Copic Markers and cut out with a little white border. I adhered it to the panel halfway on and off the patterned paper with pop dots. Next I adhered the rhinestones, they were clear by the way; I coloured them with an orange Copic Marker. Lastly I glued the panel onto a square card.

I used the following stamps :

Thanks for stopping by !

Hope you like it......

  1. Corrie, love how you have used "Kitty" on this card, and with the pop of orange, it is reminiscent of halloween (although a bit early)!!

  2. Ik blijf dit een leuke uitdaging vinden! Je kan er zo veel kanten mee op... Jou kaart is mooi strak en toch fijntjes; mooi! Groetjes, Gerrina

  3. This is just perfect for this challenge! I love the orange! I especially like the cat and more "trendy" elements against the print of that black'n'white patterned paper. A perfect combination in my book.

  4. I love this card Corrie, the orange is really zingy! xx

  5. This is fantastic, that pop of orange is superb xxx
