Fritillaria

Hello everyone,

I have been struggling with making my projects as my mojo has left me... So to try and get myself motivated again, I always try to do something different. So for today I have a really simple card...

So here's how I made it.

I put this stamp into my stamping tool and coloured it with watercolour makers, I used Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers, but any watercolour markers or even crayons would work. I used a few shades of green for the leaves, a few shades of yellow and orange for the flower and grey for the rest. I then spritzed with water and printed. There were some spots that didn't stamp well so I repeated the proces.. Next I took the stamp out, cleaned it and just repeated the grey on the areas that had no stamping.

I then used coloured pencils to add more colour. I inked up the edges and used a bottle top to stamp some circles. The sentiment was restamped with VersaFine Clair ink and cut out. I mounted it on grey card stock and adhered it to the card panel. I then adhered the panel to a white basic card.

Simple but effective I think.

I only used one stamp for this card:
#274 - Fritillaria by Tracy Evans

This week at Vera Lane Studio

Hello everyone,

For today's Vera Lane Studio DT post I have made a postcard with the newly released "Stitches" and an art journal page with "Bigfoot".

I have recently aquired Dina Wakley's Gloss Sprays and I used them today to make the background for this fab girl. I added some stamping with AALL & Create stamps too. She was printed, coloured and cut out. I used my Copic Markers for colouring as usual.

You'll find 'Stitches' HERE.

I love this Bigfoot ! He is so cute ! lol
I did this page in my journal as well with the Dina Sprays. I stamped, heat embossed and doodled to give it some more interest. I printed, coloured and cut out Bigfoot and adhered him onto the page. I put him onto some washitape to ground him. The sentiment is from the same set.

You'll find Bigfoot HERE.

All you need is love

Hello everyone,

I hope you are all well ! For today's VivaLasVegaStamps! DT post I have made an art journal page with an experimental background !

And here's how I made it:

I got the iZink Ice translucent gel paints by Seth Apter recently and I had to try them out, which I did with above result. It then was on my desk for a while until today when I decided to use it for my VLVS! project.

I added stamping (of course)... a full list of stamps I used is at the bottom of this post.

I also added some modelling paste through a stencil and some splatters. It is a very busy background but I am planning on just using black and white for the images.

I stamped the balloon girl and the cops directly on the page. I used a black marker to correct the balloons that didn't stamp right. The cops are a not stamped very well but that is not a problem as I am going to cover the image up with one stamped on book pages. This was just to make sure I had al the details.

And here it is all finished. I added a sticker saying 'all you need is love' and matted the whole page on black card stock so it popped even more.

I have used the following stamps:

Other materials:

iZink Ice in a few different bright colours
Archival ink: Jet Black, Watering Can, Aquamarine, Leaf Green, Saffron, Magenta Hue, Deep Purple.
Stencil by AALL & Create #2
Modeling paste by Finnabair.

Limited edition

Hello everyone,

For today's AALL & Create GDT post I have decorated a MDF Monolith using all Tracy Evans stamps. I also used a stencil by Olga Heldwein.

And here's how I made this:

First I gessoed the MDF stand and then sprayed them with Dina Wakley's gloss sprays. I used Lemon and Lime. Later I added a touch of Cheddar.
When this was all dry I stamped it with Archival inks in roughly the same colours.

Next I added black paint along the edges and used this stencil to add some modelling paste.

I did the same to the back.

Next I sprayed some card stock with gloss spray, using Cheddar, Turquoise and Ocean. After drying I placed these pieces in my stamp platform and stamped the butterfly.

I cut it out and added the yellow pen nib to add some contrast. I also doodled along some of the lines of the butterfly with a white pen.

And here it is all finished ! I added a word chip by Tim Holtz on which I added some of the turquoise spray along the edges. I also cut it in two pieces.

The back of the stand.

I have used the following stamp, all by Tracy Evans:
#267 - Nature Elements
#304 - Heartfelt
#302 - Going postal
#307 - Overlapping texture

and a stencil by Olga Heldwein:
#2

Collect beautiful moments

Hello everyone,

For this weeks AALL & Create project I have made a mini book cover. I might still put some signatures in...

Here's how:

First I coloured 2 pieces of watercolour paper with Distress Oxide inks. I dunked and dried until I was happy. I used Mustard Seed, Peeled Paint, Twisted Citron and Broken China. I then used this stencil to 'stamp' on both pieces using the same inks.

Next I stamped the background a little.

I then stamped part of the big flower on the front cover and another flower from this set in the back cover. I also added the word 'beautiful' which is from a sentiment from this set.

I used Inktense pencils to colour everything. I like the look of it but still not sure whether these pencils are my thing. I see Abs using them all the time so I thought I'd give them another go.

And here is the finished result. I put the book together and glued the covers on. The book is made with a die from Eileen Hull.

The back of the book.

I have used the following stamps:

#294 - Tile Pile by Autour the Mwa
#265 - Blooming Poppies by Olga Heldwein

Stencil:
#78 - Cloister Grillle by Olga Heldwein

This week at Vera Lane Studio

Hello everyone,

For this week's DT post I have made two postcards. As some of you might know I am a big fan of Alice in Wonderland and I love the sets Janet has been bringing out in the last few weeks.

This is the Toad, he was printed, coloured and cut out. I placed him on a background that I create with acrylic paints, a stencil and a baby wipe. I added white lines around the circles by placing the stencil back and tracing .. I added some washi tape to ground him and added the sentiment.
You'll find Toad and his friends HERE

This card was made with a gelli print from my stash. I printed, coloured and cut out the queen and added her on top of two strips of washi tape. The sentiment came from  the internet and is a 'queen of hearts quote'. I printed it in Janet's fabulous Babypowder font, cut it into pieces and adhered on the card.

You'll find the queen HERE.
