This week at Vera Lane Studio

Hello everyone,

Happy Thursday !

For this week's Vera Lane Studio project I have made an ATC and a mini journal page with some older images. I really enjoy revisiting the older ones because there are so many I love.

This ATC is made with the set "Little Birds". I coloured him and cut him out. I then adhered him on an ATC from my stash. The background was made with shaving foam and Distress Oxide reinkers.

The little birds are still available on request.

This mini journal page which is slightly larger than a postcard was made with "Blondie". I printed her and coloured and cut her out. I then made this background with the gelli plate and an AALL & Create stencil. I actually used a brayer and white paint to make a lighter area for her to go on. This way she stands out better.

You'll find Blondie HERE.

You and me

Hello everyone,

For today's AALL & Create GDT post I have made a journal page. I thought I'd revisit Abs' idea of going with a round piece of paper. It is fun to do something different every now and then.

And here is how I made it:

I started out with this stencil and gesso to create a resist. You can't actually see it in this photo so I took one at and angle:

This is what it looks like. I worked on watercolour paper by the way.

I used a blending tool and Distress Oxide inks with water to get this result. I used Broken China, Mustard Seed and Carved Pumpkin. You can see how the gesso resists the ink.

I love this stamp set and had to use it yet again for the background. I used the same Oxides and a black Versafine ink for this.

Next I cut this die and added little pieces of it on my circle. I also went around the edges with black paint, mostly where the black stamping is.

My focal point & sentiment. I already stamped 'you+me' from set #125 that I used for the background. I coloured the images with Copic Markers, cut them out and adhered them onto my page. I matted the you+me on black card and used it as a base for the two bears to stand on.

I really like how this turned out. My favourite colours too! (Well, at this moment...lol).

I have used the following AALL & Create materials:

Stencil:
#84 - Profusion by Olga Heldwein

Die:
#13 - Bursting buds by Bipasha BK

Stamps:
#125 - For the record by Aida Domisiewicz
#249 - Dog toys by Janet Klein
#250 - Lift me up by Olga Heldwein

This week at Vera Lane Studio

Hello everyone,

Happy Thursday !

For today's Vera Lane Studio post I have made a postcard and a journal page.

This postcard was made with the newly released 'Party Girl'. I printed her and coloured her with my Copic markers after which I cut her out. The background was made with a stencil that I smeared with Distress Oxide Inks in Mustard Seed and Worn Lipstick, spritzed it with water and printed it on my card. I added a little stamping with the same inks.

You'll find Party Girl HERE

This journal page was made with a older set called 'Tinker'. I printed and coloured her, cut her out and adhered her to my background that is a gelli print from my stash. I added some stamping and stencilling to give it more interest.
Tinker is still available on request if you can't find her in the shop.

Thank you for stopping by today !

Well behaved women..

Hi everyone,

For my second January post for VivaLasVegaStamps! I have made an artjournal spread.

Here's how:

First I applied Distress Oxide inks over gessoed pages. I used pieces of cut and dry foam for this but you could also use a blending tool or blending brushes.

Next I placed a stencil over the top and rubbed the ink with a dry piece of kitchen towel. I wanted it lighter  but not white. If I had used a baby wipe it would have taken all the ink off.

Next I stamped the background randomly with the same Oxide inks,  a Versafine black and a grey StaZon. No reason for the inks apart from them being within reach or the colour I wanted.

I forgot to take a picture when I was colouring, but you get the idea. I stamped the naughty lady and the gentleman and coloured them with my Copic Markers and cut them out. I added some washitape to the page to stand them on and glued them down. The sentiment was stamped on white card stock, cut into strips and adhered on the other page. I then doodled around the strips with a black pen.

I have used the following stamps:

Other materials:
Distress Oxide inks:
Broken China
Peacock Feathers
Twisted Citron
Mustard Seed
Carved Pumpkin
Worn Lipstick

Versafine Onyx Black
StaZon Dove grey
Gesso
Copic markers
Black pen

A hug says enough

Hello everyone,

For this week's AALL & Create GDT post I have made a card. I used a background from my stash for this.

Here's how I made it:

First I took this background from my stash and cut it to size. I made it with these two die-cuts that I put onto the plate while making a print.

Next I added some stamping and stencilling. I used Distress Oxide ink and Versafine for the stamping; white paint for the stencilling. I also added some black paint along the edges.

I chose this little girl to go onto my card together with two hearts and the sentiment from the Dog Toy set.

And here is the complete card.

I have used the following AALL & Create materials:

Stamps:
#234 - Brush Flower by Tracy Evans
#262 - Mesh by Tracy Evans
#256 - Cat Love by Janet Klein
#249 - Dog Toys by Janet Klein
Dies:
#12 - Code by Bipasha BK
#14 Cells by Bipasha BK
Stencil:
#89 - Dahlias by Autour de Mwa

This week at Vera Lane Studio

Hello everyone,

Happy Thursday! For today's Vera Lane Studio post I have made a card and a postcard.

This card is a birthday card with a snarky sentiment. I thought it fitted her facial expression fabulously! lol Hope the recipient won't be offended!

I used the newly released set "Eyes for you" for this. The background is just stencilled with Distress Oxide ink. You will find this cutie HERE

I love revisiting older sets and this postcard is made with just that. She is from the set "Wild West". She and her pals are still available on request from Janet. I put her on some pattern paper on which I put some paint with a brayer and also some stamping. She was coloured with Copic Markers.

Thank you so much for stopping by today !

Garden Journal

Hello everyone,

For this weeks AALL & Create post I have decorated a notebook.

And here's how:

First I added a strip of cotton on the spine, I used fabric glue to attach it, I then gessoed the book and added yellow and green paint with a brayer. I put the stencil on top and wiped away the paint with a baby wipe. This didn't work great so instead I used white paint and dabbed it through the stencil. I did the same thing on the back.

Here's a close up

Next I used a  bunch of stamps to add some interest. I used Distress Oxide inks and Archival ink to stamp.

Next, I stamped this flower and coloured it with my Copic markers.

I found these two words to add, making the book a 'garden journal'.

I added a black mat and glued the flower and the words to the front of the book. I also added some black paint around the edges and some white splatters.

On the back I added a sentiment from Tracy's 'Doodled Blooms' set and that finished the book.

I have used the following AALL & Create materials:

Stencil #85 - Abundance by Olga Heldwein

Stamps:

#109 - Blossomed numbers by Tracy Evans
#140 - Doodled blooms by Tracy Evans
#67 - Vintage assorted by Olga Heldwein
#234 - Brush flower by Tracy Evans
#262 - mesh by Tracy Evans
#235 - All measured up by Tracy Evans

I love you like...

Hello everyone,

This post is the second inspiration piece for the Country View Challenges January challenge with the theme 'LOVE' in the widest sense! I have made a card and tried to make it a little humorous.

and here's how:

I went shopping before Christmas and was given a paper bag with one of my purchases. I liked the pink and white stripes so much that I decided to keep it and use it for my card today.

First I used a brayer and added some white paint, then I used a stencil and added some hearts with Distress Oxide Ink in Victorian Velvet.

Next I stamped the word love with grey StaZon ink (only used StaZon because it was the perfect colour) and used the ink pad to ink up the edges.

Next I stamped the main image and the sentiment on a piece of book paper and cut them out.

And here it is all put together. I added a black mat and adhered the whole thing to a white card base.

Thank you so much for stopping by today ! I hope you play along with us. You will find all the information about the current challenge when you click the link at the top of this post.
