This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hello everyone,

For today's Vera Lane Studio project I have made a postcard with the lovely Frida Dee.

After printing Frida I coloured her and cut her out. This background is a gelliprint made with acrylic paint and a stencil. I added a tiny bit of stamping and some doodle lines and placed Frida and the sentiment on the card.

You'll find Frida Dee HERE

I am chuffed to bits..

 Hello everyone,

For this week's AALL & Create project I have made a tag with the delightful Miss Dee.

Here's how:

I used Distress Oxide ink pads and dragged them over the paper. Once dry I added some stencilling with VersaMark ink and sprinkled embossingpowder over, then heat embossed it. This way the stencilling stays nice and white.

A bit of background stamping

Stamping out the focal image

Here she is all coloured up !

A few pieces of washi tape..

I added some ribbon that I coloured with the same Distress Oxide inks. I added a little shading under her feet and under the words.

I have used :

(all by Janet Klein)

Stencil # 172 - Olives & Ivy
Washi tape # 56 - Passport Please
Stamps:
#523 - Flower Pops
#692 - African Voices
#1011 - London England

This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hello everyone,

For today's Vera Lane Studio project I have made a postcard with the newly released set "Meow". They are so cute and I had lots of fun making this card.

After printing the cats, I coloured them with Copics and cut them out. I then made the background using the same colours Copic Refills and a stencil on the gelli plate. I like how that came out and how it really suits the cats. I put some washi tape down and added some stamping.
I then glued everything down and added some shading with a graphite pencil here and there.

You'll find these cats (and a few more)  HERE

Thank you for stopping by !

Hoping that you'll bloom again

Hello everyone,

For today's AALL & Create project I made a journal page using one of Abs' Christmas stamps but I used it in a non-Christmas way.

Here's how:

I stamped and coloured the elf. I didn't stamp the bell as I didn't want to use that.

Stamped one of Tracy's flowers as something for the elf to sit on. I coloured it with Copic Markers as I did the elf.

I made a background with different shades of yellow acrylic paint, a gelli plate and a stencil.

Stamped the background randomly.

Stamped the sentiment.

I coloured the little circles with a marker and added shadow with a coloured pencil. I then added some white at the top to make them more dimensional. I also added some lines around the page to frame it. Lastly I added some shading under the sentiment words.

I have used the following products:

Stencil #136 - Bug Hotel by Autour de Mwa

Stamps:
#1003 - Jingle Dreams by Autour de Mwa & Co
#666 - Everyday Sentiments by Janet Klein
#489 - Wisecracks by Autour de Mwa
#924 - Flower Trio by Tracy Evans
#58 - Scribble it by Autour de Mwa

This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hello everyone,

For today's Vera Lane Studio project I have made a journal page with the newly released set 'Pooh & Bee'.

I printed, coloured and cut the images out and then went to make a gelli print with one of Janet's stencils called Snow Pines. I thought it was too nice to go over with stamps so I just toned it down slightly with white paint and drew some black lines around the painted area.
I decided where the images were going to go and then glued them down. Last thing was adding a tiny bit of shading under the main image.

You'll find Poo & Bee HERE.

Thank you for stopping by today !

You are all my heart needs

 Hello everyone,

For today's AALL & Create project I have made a card.

Here's how:

First I used Distress Oxide Ink to colour this piece of water colour card that I cut to the size of a card front. I then stamped this stamp on it and heat embossed with red and pink powder, trying to create stripes.

I used a white pen to add some accents here and there and randomly added some stamping.

Next, I stamped these cuties and coloured them with Copic Markers. I then cut them out.

Because they weren't standing out enough I added a die cut heart that I coloured with the lighter Distress Oxide Ink. I also added a piece of washi tape and some shading around the heart.  I also toned the background down with white paint. It is still more busy than I intended it to be.

I then added the 2 squishies and the sentiment. Although it is a very busy card, I think it came out cute.

I used the following products:

Washi tape #60 - Melon Seeds by Janet Klein

Stamps: (all by Janet Klein)
#692 - African Voices
#933 - You Are All
#938 - Define Love
#940 - Heart Collage

Everyday is a journey

 Hello everyone,

Happy September !

For this week's AALL & Create project I have made an artjournal page.

Here's how I made this:

I used a piece of 6 x 6 watercolour paper and Distress Oxide inks Mustard Seed, Carved Pumpkin and Picked Raspberry for the background. I then stencilled over that with white ink and heat embossed it with white powder. This way the underlying ink colour doesn't come through.

Next step was stamping randomly with the same Distress Oxide Inks and VersaFine Clair inks in grey and black. I also went around the edges with the black VersaFine.

Next I stamped these flowers

and coloured them with Copics and paint pens. I also used a very light blue coloured pencil to add a little colour here and there. I kept them light so they would stand out on the colourful background.

I added a few pieces of washi tape, just for fun! lol

The sentiment..

and here it is all together. I think it came out nice.

I have used the following products:

Stencil: #157 - Twisting & Turning by Tracy Evans
Washi tape : #61 - Harvest Time by Janet Klein
Stamps: (all by Tracy Evans)
#304 - Heartfelt
#533 - Bring On The Sentiments
#543 - Reckoner Digits
#625 - Vine
#924 - Flower Trio
