More Vintage...

Hello fellow Crafters,

After my DT project for the Stampotique Challenge Team I wanted to make another vintage project. Now when I saw that France, who set the challenge, used her Big Bee stamp I remembered that I have the Medium Bee so I thought to give it an outing. Thanks France for the inspiration....
I decided to make a card and this is it :

This was an easy card. I started with Kraft card stock which was already cut to size so all I had to do was score and fold it. I distressed it with Vintage photo Distress Ink.
Next I cut some dictionary text and crumpled it up, unfolded it and distressed it with Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain Distress Ink. I then distressed a piece of corrugated cardboard. I adhered both bits of paper to the card base. I then cut another piece of card stock in a beige, krafty colour and distressed it by tearing the short edges and going round it with Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain inks and stamping some rings on it. I also stamped the bee on it with black ink (3x). I then stamped the bee three times on a separate bit of white card stock and coloured them with Copics, clear embossed them and cut them out without their little antennae and legs. I adhered them to the stamped image on the beige strip of paper. On the inside I stamped Happy Birthday on a another bit of distressed paper and that was it.

Thanks for stopping by !

Hope you like it.....

Observations

Hello fellow Crafters,

Today I did an Art Journal to enter into the Artistic Stamper March Challenge called 'Letters, Words and Numbers'. This is what I made:

I gessoed the pages in my Moleskine journal and then painted them with Ice Blue Fresco Paint by Paperartsy. I then sprayed some blue Glimmer mist over it. I used several number and letter stamps for the background. I used blue Archival, black Archival and white ink for the letters. I didn't think they were white enough so I decided to white emboss them. I used an old top from a tube to make the black rings with India Ink. I then used some rub ons for a few more numbers and for the word observations and the tiny sayings around the page are also rub ons (Tim Holtz). I stamped Maude on photo paper (I think she is from Stamp Smith, not sure about this though) and cut her out.  I used some cambric and a few paper flowers to further embellish the page around the photostamp and that was it.

Flower Fairy ?

Hello fellow Crafters,

Today I decided to make an ATC for the Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge blog. The theme this week is Flower/Forest Fairies. Now if you visit my blog on a regular basis you probably know that I am not one for sweet and cute so I decided to use one of my Stampotique stamps and turn him/her into a flower fairy. Here goes:

The ATC card was painted with pink acrylic paint and then stamped with two different flower stamps and Versamark. I white embossed them. The stamp is "Daniel's treetopper" and is by Stampotique.
I stamped him/her with Memento and coloured him/her with Copics. I then clear embossed the image. Instead of holding a heart he/she is holding a flower which I punched out of coloured tissue paper. I glued some jewels here and there and that was it !

Thanks for stopping by !

Hope you like it.....

Nostalgia

Hello fellow Crafters,

Today is Wednesday and that means yet another Challenge over at Stampotique. This week it is the lovely France Papillon who set the challenge. She wants us to make a vintage looking piece and this is what she said:
‘Hello lovely Stampotiquers,
Lots of us get so excited when we get our hands on an old ledger, old books, or old family photos even from people we don’t know. But those are often hard to come by, or very expensive.
Because of that, lots of us became very agile in making new things look old. Using inks, paper distressing tools and yummy techniques.
How about we combine all that love for all things vintage and all those yummy techniques with our favorite stamps, to create a vintage looking Stampotique piece?
Can’t wait to see where that leads you! Ready? Create!’

Why don't you play along and try and win $ 30,-- of those yummie stamps.
Just remember : No Digi's and only one entry per challenge.

This is what I made :

The tag was covered in paper from a paper bag that had writing all over it. I toned it down with Gesso and coloured it with Distress Inks in Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain and Black Soot. I did some random stamping, not too much because the background was busy enough. I coloured a doily and a bit of cambric which I then stapled to the tag. I coloured a couple of paper flowers with a blue alcohol marker and distressed them with DI again. They were attached to the tag with a brad. I then put some Washi tape on the tag and stamped the rings with black ink and a cap from a tube. Little Midge was stamped on white card, coloured with alcohol markers, clear embossed and cut out. She was then adhered to the tag. Another bit of coloured cambric and some ribbon finished it off.

I used the following Stampotique stamps :

Live the life...

Hello fellow Crafters,

When I did my last Round Robin journal in yellows, greens and blue, Nancy said she hoped it was for her. As it wasn't and she really liked it I said I could do one like it for her and that is what I did:

Again I used watercolour paper and sprayed the Dylusions on it after wetting it. I then dried it and used a doily stencil and sprayed water through it. After a few seconds I lifted some of the colour off with a kitchen roll.  After drying it again, I glued some tissue paper on (it has music notes and a little bird). I also did some stamping with a cookie cutter and some India Ink. I distressed the edges with Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool. The main image is a Tim Holtz stamp and it was stamped with StaZon on acetate. I stapled this acetate sheet to the paper over the strip of tissue paper. The sentiment is also Tim Holtz, it was stamped on a bit of a paper bag and adhered on the page together with a bit of doily. I also used a bit of the same doily one the left page.

Thanks for stopping by....

Hope you like it !

The Journey

Hello fellow Crafters,

Today I made an Art Journal page that I would like to share with you. I am quite addicted to the colour combination of turquoise,  lime green and yellow that I used for my last Round Robin contribution. So I decided to use it again today.

I used a sheet of watercolour paper because I didn't want the Dylusions to go all over my journal.  I sprayed the paper with water, then with Dylusions in the colours I mentioned. I then dried it and used a baroque stencil and water to lift some of the colour off. I thought it was a bit too bright so I lightly brushed it with gesso. I stuck some tissue paper with music notes on it in a few places and did some background stamping. I also used my top and India Ink to make the black rings and splatters and my O-ring (glued on a bit of wood) with white ink for the white rings.  I also went along the edge with a blending tool and some Black Soot Distress Ink. The row of houses is a stamp from Stamp Addicts and it was stamped three times on tissue paper and clear embossed. I cut it out and glued it on the page with acrylic medium. I then stamped the Flying Machines with Archival but only after I stamped it on some scratch paper first so it became grey. Lastly I used a Tim Holtz rub-on for the sentiment and adhered the page in my journal.

Thanks for stopping by !

Hope you like it....

Always know in your heart ....

Hello fellow Crafters,

Today I made an Art Journal for the Round Robin that has been organised by Sonja at the Craftorij Facebook page. This is it:

I sprayed watercolour paper with Dylusions in yellow, lime green and turquoise. I then used a stencil with the ghosting method. This is where you put the stencil on the page,  spray water through it and then after a little while you mop up the water with a kitchen roll. It leaves a lighter image of the stencil. I then did some background stamping and decided to glue some tissue paper on here and there. I also used my favourite tool again which is a cap of an old toothpaste tube. The butterflies (Tim Holtz) were stamped on acetate with StaZon and after it dried I stapled it to the page. I used a sentiment from another Tim Holtz set which I stamped on some paper from a paper bag. I tore it out and glued it down on the page on top of some cambric. Lastly I put on some rub ons above and under the sentiment.

I liked the look of this art journal and decided to make some cards using the same method. I might use them as Easter Cards. Here is a picture :

Thank you for stopping by, I do appreciate it !

Hope you like them......

ATC Swap

Hello fellow Crafters,

The lovely Nikki Woodward has again organised an ATC swap on the Stampotique FaceBook page. The theme was set by Pauline Adamson as 'Time Warp'. Now I did struggle with that as I have never seen the Rocky Horror Picture Show where this saying comes from. So I decided to go Vintage. Funnily enough Nikki gave me Pauline as a partner and today she received my vintage ATC together with one other one which I slipped in as a present. This is them :

I glued on some text paper on the ATC card and aged it with distress inks in Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain and Black Soot. I did a tiny bit of background stamping and used my trusty cap to make the rings. I then stamped Midge and coloured her with Copics, clear embossed her and cut her out. I placed her on some washi tape. I then used half a doily and some cambric which I coloured to make it more in keeping with the ATC.  I then coloured a paper flower with Copics, the same colour as Midge's dress and put everything together.

If you want to know how I made the Bunny ATC, it is on my blog HERE.

Thanks for stopping by !

Hope you like it.

Gorgeous...

Hello fellow Crafters,

I made this tag a while ago and thought I'd share it with you today.

I started with a #8 Manilla tag and painted it pink first and did some background stamping with pink and white inks. The rings and splatters were made with India Ink and a cap from an old toothpaste tube. The stamp is called Annabel Lee and is by the Octopode factory. I stamped her, coloured her with Copics and clear embossed her. I then cut her out and went around the cut edged with a black marker. I placed her on some washi tape and ribbon which I stapled to the tag. The sentiment came from the internet. A bit of ribbon through the hole and some more washi tape in the left hand top corner finished it off.

Stampotique Designers' Challenge #139

Hello fellow Crafters,

It is wednesday again and that means another Challenge over at the Stampotique Blog.

Maria wants us to make something masculine and this is what she said:

'How many masculine cards did you make in the last month? I personaly made zero cards. Masculine creations can be a real challenge. I challenge you to create something using the masculine theme. Keep the cuteness and blings away this time. Lock them in your drawer. Let's make men feel special at least once in a while with,  something made only for them'

This is what I came up with:

This birthday card started off with some stripy black and white paper I printed myself a long time ago. I coloured some of the stripes blue and edged the panel with black ink. I stamped Eric on white paper,  coloured him, clear embossed him, cut him out and glued him onto some pattern paper with text on. This little panel was matted on some black card stock as was the stripy paper and the little sentiment. The whole thing was then put together and adhered to a blank card.

I used two Stampotique stamps :

Hungry bunny...

Hello fellow Crafters,

Today I have made this ATC that I would like to share with you:

The background was already done. I bought some crackle medium some time ago and experimented with it by painting an ATC card with creme paint, painting on the crackle medium and covering it with pink paint. It is fun to see all the crackles appear. All I did after that was a bit of background stamping with a text stamp and black ink; the same ink I used to age the edge of the card. I also used the Hexagon stamp from Stampotique, designed by Jo Capper-Sandon, and white ink to add some more interest. The main image is a stamp called 'Screaming Bunny' and was designed by Roc Nicholas. It is sold via Stampotique. I stamped him on white card, coloured him, clear embossed him and cut him out. I went around the cut edge with a black marker as well. I adhered him to the ATC on top of some Washi tape. I still thought he needed something so I drew a carrot which I coloured, clear embossed, cut out and dangled in front of his face. I now call him Hungy Bunny !

Free to fly.. & beep...beep..

Hello fellow Crafters,

I've been busy crafting today and I have 2 projects to share with you today. The first one is this one; a tag. The weather has been so nice lately that it inspired me to use these sunny colours:

I used a #8 Manilla tag en coloured it from the bottom up with Distress Inks in Barn Door, Spiced Marmelade, Dried Marigold, Mustard Seed, Squeezed Lemonade and Peeled Paint. I used the following stamps :
Fax to Wolfgang by Amy Wilson, in the same DI colours
Seaweed by Jo Capper-Sandon, with black Archival ink
Flying Bird by Roc Nicolas, with Memento ink

The birds were stamps in white watercolour paper and coloured with Copics. I didn't clear emboss them today as I thought they looked nice as they were.  I filled the little dots of the seaweed stamp with a white paint pen. The bee and the sentiment are both rub-ons from Tim Holtz. Lastly I used a black marker to put some faux stitching along the edge, matted the tag on black card stock and put some ribbon through the hole.

My second project today was a journal page in my mini Moleskine. I love this size because it is so easy to do a page. I won a competition last week and part of my prize was the Stampotique stamp called Taxi !,  I thought I'd use it today and this is it :

I coloured the page with Pan Pastels in yellow, orange and a tiny bit of red around the edges. I stamped a background stamp on the right hand side of the page and didn't like it. So I decided to glue some book text over it. I coloured it the same way as the rest of the page. I used one stencil with orange DI, and added some random stamping with black and white inks. I splattered some India Ink on the page and made some rings with my favourite tool; a cap from a old tube of toothpaste. Again I added some faux stitching around the edge, this time with a white paint pen. I used two Stampotique stamps :
Uncle Buck by Daniel Torrente
Taxi ! by Janet Klein

Both were stamped on white card stock, coloured with Copics, clear embossed and cut out. I added some  TH washi tape, cutting out the streets and avenues of New York. I placed Uncle Buck and the little taxi on the tape and drew the string between the two.

Hope you like it.....

Stampotique Designers' Challenge #138

Hello fellow Crafters,

Happy Wednesday to you all. Today the Challenge was set by Kristen and she wanted us to use green as our primary colour. This is what she said :

Hello there, Kristen here, and I am the host of this week’s Challenge.  I am a huge fan of using Primary colors in my projects, with Red being my favorite, but since it is March, and this month the month of the beginning of spring and St. Paddy’s Day. I am challenging you to use GREEN as the main color in your project.  I can’t wait to see what you create. Have fun and have a great week!

I made a birthday card :

I started off with a bit of watercolour paper that I coloured with Dylusions in Dirty Martini and Fresh Lime. I then used a Damask embossing folder to create some texture. I rubbed it with a blending tool and Peeled Paint Distress Ink to make the pattern more visible. I used my favourite Stampotique background stamp 'Fax to Wolfgang' with black ink on the raised parts of the paper. Hard to see without zooming in. I then stamped 'Heart Shirt' and clear embossed him. I decided only to colour the little heart on his shirt. I cut him out and adhered him to a strip of vellum. I then stamped the 'Happy Birthday' and used my scoring tool to create a white line on either side of the vellum. The whole thing was then stapled onto the green paper. I then adhered the pink flower to a white one with a brad and also put it on the green paper. The panel was then matted on some black card stock and adhered to the card.

Thanks for stopping by !

Drama Queen

Hello fellow Crafters,

Over at the Tag Along Challenge blog the theme is Kings and Queens. This is what I made :

I started with a #8 Manilla tag. I painted it with PaperArtsy Fresco Paints in Butternut and Autumn Fire. I did some background stamping with Orange Archival ink and some grey StaZon. I also used a polkadot stamp from Dylusions and white ink. I added some black ink around the edges as well. I stamped 'Clover' from Stampotique both directly on the tag and on white card stock. I coloured the one on white card with alcohol markers, clear embossed it and cut it out. I adhered it to the stamped image on the tag. The crown was stamped with Versafine in black and silver embossed. The sentiment is made from sticky (glittery) letters. I added some white with a paint pen. Lastly I added some washi tape,  matted the tag on black card stock and put some ribbon through the hole.

Art journal page

Hello fellow Crafters,

I've been having very little time to craft lately due to lots of travelling, which is lovely as well, but I was happy to be back in my craft room today. I decided to make something for Coby's Challenge over at the Craftorij FB page. She challenged us to make something with hearts and this is what I made:

I started with adhering tissue paper on my page and then colouring it with Distress Inks in blues and some black around the edges. I put the flowers on with model paste and a stencil and also coloured them with blue Distress Ink. I went around the flowers with a white paint pen to make them stand out a bit more.
I used two stamps, both Stampotique and both designed by Roc Nicholas

They were stamped on white card stock, coloured with alcohol markers and clear embossed. I placed Blessed Skellie on some washi tape to ground her. The little hearts were cut with a punch from some coloured foil from an easter egg.

Thanks for stopping by !

Challenge # 8 - Stamping Cottage

Hello fellow Crafters,

First of all I would like to thank Angela and Marga from the Stamping Cottage for choosing me as the winner of last months colour challenge ! So happy.

This month the Challenge is : Make a tag with only text. This is what I have made:

I started with adhering book text to a #8 Manilla tag and painting it with white gesso. I then coloured the tag with Peeled Paint, Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain Distress Inks. I used a Stampotique stamp (Fax to Wolfgang) to stamp some more text. I wrapped some twine around the bottom which I secured with staples. I used the same twine to put through the hole. I then coloured some paper flowers with Dylusions in Dirty Martini and Fresh lime and distressed the edges with Walnut stain Distress Ink. I used a metal washer and a brad for the centres of the flowers. Lastly I made another label, coloured it the same way,  stamped my text on it and stapled it to the tag.

Thanks for stopping by !

Hope you like it.....

Keep calm, smile and create beautiful things

Hello fellow Crafters,

Another Wednesday, another Challenge at Stampotique. This week it is the lovely Kay who setting the theme. She wants us all to use a textured background. If you play along there is a chance that you win $ 30,-- worth of those lovely stamps at the end of the month. All you have to do is use real stamps, not digi's. They don't even have to be Stampotique but it would be nice if you did.
This is my take on Kay's theme:

I started with a #8 Manilla tag and used a chicken wire stencil and modelpaste to create some texture. I then sprayed it with Dylusions Inks in yellow, two shades of green and turqoise. I didn't like it, there I said it... I then sprayed the white Dylusions ink over it to tone it down a bit. Nope, still didn't like it. So, to tone it down even further I brushed it with Gesso. That was better. I rubbed the right hand bottom corner with light blue Archival Ink to make it bluer and a dark blue around the edges. I did some background stamping with grey and black inks and decided it needed some white so I stamped the swirly things and embossed them with white powder. The little peeps were stamped on white paper, coloured with alcohol markers and clear embossed. I stamped the sentiment on gessoed book text and cut it apart. I glued everything down and doodled around the images and the sentiment with a black marker.
I used the following Stampotique stamps :

Tag Along # 27 - Cats

Hello fellow Crafters,

Also today, I made a tag for the Tag Along Blog where Foxy Carol has set the Challenge and it is Cats !! So this is what I made :

I painted the tag with PaperArtsy pink and sprayed some Shimmer Mist over it. I then did some background stamping and used a cap to make the circles. I also edged the tag with black ink.

I used Roc Nicholas' Feline and Scalloped Lace border stamps. They were stamped and embossed. I coloured the cat with Copics and after embossing cut it out and adhered it together with the border on the tag. I used a Dymo label maker for the sentiment and lastly put a bit of ribbon through the hole.

Thanks for stopping by !

Round Robin Arjournals

Hello fello Crafters,

Boy, hard work after my holiday to get back on track. But I am very much enjoying it.....
I have made two Art Journals for the Round Robin that has been organised by Sonja Boom over at the Craftorij.
The first one is for Miranda Bosch and looks like this :

I cut a piece of watercolour paper and smooshed it into Dylusions which I sprayed on my craft sheet with some water ( Thanks for the idea Astrid ). I did some random stamping used a letter stencil with the White Linnen Dylusions Spray. I doodled a border around the paper with a black marker. I stamped the lady and the sentiment on book text, clear embossed them and cut them out.  I used some bits and pieces to place them on like a black doily and some cambric. Before glueing everything down I did splatter the pages with black ink. I also used some rub ons and a couple of paper flowers and a button. Lastly I cut the page in two and glued them in the journal.

The second one is for Afke Boonstra and looks like this :

This one is completely different. I started with a paper bag that I cut apart so it became a piece of paper. I painted it with gesso to make the print a bit less obvious. I did some background stamping and stencilling and aged the edges with Distress Ink in Vintage Photo. I also used some washi tape in random places.  I used a photo of a gentleman which I bought in the USA (Time Holtz - lost relatives). I adhered him onto some more bits of the paper bag which I punched with a scalloped edge. I found the tag already painted in my stash and thought it fitted perfectly. The word "gentleman" was made with a Dymo machine and the sentiment was cut from a PaperArtsy stamp.
Lastly I cut the paper in half and adhered it in the journal.

Thanks for stopping by !

Hope you like them .....

ATC - explore Life

Hello fellow Crafters,

Today I finally did a bit more stamping. We got back from our holiday in the USA on Saturday and only today I felt a bit like myself again. I always suffer from the jetlag.
I got some new Roc Nicholas stamps while in the USA and I used the first ones today:

This ATC was painted with PaperArtsy Fresco paint after I used a chicken wire stencil with some model paste. I rubbed it then with black ink and also went around the edges with the same ink. I stamped Roc's Heart Vine on it and stamped the hearts again on white card stock, coloured them, cut them out and glued them on. The Flying Bird was also stamped on white card stock, coloured it, clear embossed it and cut it out. I adhered it to the ATC and lastly I put on the 'explore Life' rub on.

Thanks for stopping by !

Hope you like it.....

With the right hat..

Hello fellow Crafters,

Today is the 1st of the month so it is my turn to show you some more ways to use the fabulour stamps designed by Roc Nicholas and sold through Stampotique. I made an Art journal page and this is it :

The page was coloured with Pan Pastels in Turqoise. I didn't think it was bright enough so I used some Distress Ink in the colour Broken China. I used Roc's fab 'Flying Heart' stamp as a background stamp and a stencil with white acrylic paint to create some interest. I also went around the edge with blue Archival Ink and doodled a line as a border.
I used the head of 'Bird Lady', gave her some eyelashes and drew her a new body. The flowers on her dress are the flowers from the 'Stacked Cups' stamp; I also used the whole bottom cup for her hat. I coloured everything with alcohol markers, clear embossed it and cut it out. I placed this younger version of Bird Lady on a bit of washi tape and because she is Bird Lady after all I couldn't resist using the little birdy from Roc's 'Just be U' stamp. Lastly I glued the sentiment on.

Thanks for stopping by !

Hope you like it....
