Nostalgia

Hello fellow Crafters,

Today is Wednesday and that means yet another Challenge over at Stampotique. This week it is the lovely France Papillon who set the challenge. She wants us to make a vintage looking piece and this is what she said:
‘Hello lovely Stampotiquers,
Lots of us get so excited when we get our hands on an old ledger, old books, or old family photos even from people we don’t know. But those are often hard to come by, or very expensive.
Because of that, lots of us became very agile in making new things look old. Using inks, paper distressing tools and yummy techniques.
How about we combine all that love for all things vintage and all those yummy techniques with our favorite stamps, to create a vintage looking Stampotique piece?
Can’t wait to see where that leads you! Ready? Create!’

Why don't you play along and try and win $ 30,-- of those yummie stamps.
Just remember : No Digi's and only one entry per challenge.

This is what I made :

The tag was covered in paper from a paper bag that had writing all over it. I toned it down with Gesso and coloured it with Distress Inks in Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain and Black Soot. I did some random stamping, not too much because the background was busy enough. I coloured a doily and a bit of cambric which I then stapled to the tag. I coloured a couple of paper flowers with a blue alcohol marker and distressed them with DI again. They were attached to the tag with a brad. I then put some Washi tape on the tag and stamped the rings with black ink and a cap from a tube. Little Midge was stamped on white card, coloured with alcohol markers, clear embossed and cut out. She was then adhered to the tag. Another bit of coloured cambric and some ribbon finished it off.

I used the following Stampotique stamps :

Thanks for stopping by !

Hope you like it....
