Keep calm, smile and create beautiful things

Hello fellow Crafters,

Another Wednesday, another Challenge at Stampotique. This week it is the lovely Kay who setting the theme. She wants us all to use a textured background. If you play along there is a chance that you win $ 30,-- worth of those lovely stamps at the end of the month. All you have to do is use real stamps, not digi's. They don't even have to be Stampotique but it would be nice if you did.
This is my take on Kay's theme:

I started with a #8 Manilla tag and used a chicken wire stencil and modelpaste to create some texture. I then sprayed it with Dylusions Inks in yellow, two shades of green and turqoise. I didn't like it, there I said it... I then sprayed the white Dylusions ink over it to tone it down a bit. Nope, still didn't like it. So, to tone it down even further I brushed it with Gesso. That was better. I rubbed the right hand bottom corner with light blue Archival Ink to make it bluer and a dark blue around the edges. I did some background stamping with grey and black inks and decided it needed some white so I stamped the swirly things and embossed them with white powder. The little peeps were stamped on white paper, coloured with alcohol markers and clear embossed. I stamped the sentiment on gessoed book text and cut it apart. I glued everything down and doodled around the images and the sentiment with a black marker.
I used the following Stampotique stamps :

Thanks for stopping by !

Hope you like it....
