That's manners..

Hello everyone,

I am on a roll today ! I fancied doing an art journal and that is what I did.. I used a lot of my favourite stuff for it :

The page was started with Dylusions paints in yellow, green and turquoise.. I applied it with my fingers. Next I used a stencil from 7Dots studio called Line Elements Mask. I then stamped the background using all VivaLasVegaStamps! and different colour inks. Dee and Dum were stamped on white card stock and I coloured them with colour pencils. The sentiment is a quote from Alice in Wonderland and it was made with an old typewriter. I coloured the edges of the word strips with the same colours as Dee and Dum.

Thank you so much for stopping by !

Skiddy

Hello everyone,

The day before yesterday I coloured a second Skiddy and this was her:

Today I cut her out and made her into a card !

I used a gelli print, some stamps and a stencil and pattern paper to create a background. I also used some rub ons and splattered some white and black ink. I had forgotten I had those rub ons.. I suppose that happens to all of us ! :o)  ! I stamped Skiddy on the background to get all the little details and then cut her out of the white paper and glued her on top...

Thanks for stopping by today !

Love

Hello everyone !

Happy Wednesday to you ! It is time for another challenge over at the Stampotique Challenge Blog and  this week the theme was set by the lovely and very talented Janet. She chose : 'Tin is in' and this is what she said :

" I am challenging you to use some form of tin in your artwork.  Consider incorporating craft tin, tin tape, an Altoid container, a repurposed tin can or any tin object to incorporate with your stamping.
Put on your "tinking" caps and join us in this challenge to have a chance to win some Stampotique stamps."
I made a little art journal:

I had this background lying around after experimenting with mixing Gel Medium with Mica Powder from Prima called Primary Elements. This colour is called 'Hot Cinnamon'. I scraped it onto some Mixed Media Paper and this was the result. I though it was perfect for these two love birds eh... cats..
I stamped 'Romatic Text' on it and silver embossed it to stay in the theme of tin or metal.
Next I took it to the sewing machine and sewed around the edge.

I bought these tin hearts from PaperArtsy at a fair somewhere and now they were perfect to use. I adhered a metal charm spelling love to one of them. I also put some twine through the holes. I adhered them  to the page with gel medium.
Next I stamped "Chessy", once normally and once reversed using a rubber stamp which is solid. What you do is stamp the image on the rubber and then stamp the rubber onto card stock and hey presto an image in reverse. Usually not perfect but you can fix this with a marker which is what I did. I also turned this one into a girl by giving her lips, a blush and eye lashes.. I coloured them both with Copic Markers, cut them out and adhered them to my page on top of some washi tape.

Here's a close up of all this metal, doesn't it look yummy !

I used only two stamps for this:

Why not play along with us and win a $30 voucher for some of those yummy stamps..
Just remember NO digi's and only one entry per person per challenge....

Thanks for stopping by today !

Attitude

Hello everyone,

Finally I am in my craft room again doing what I love. And I managed to ink up Skiddy. I had her for a while but only today did I have time to use her. I made a postcard.

I used a background I made a while ago by painting a piece of 12'x12' card stock and randomly stencilling it. I then cut it in 6 pieces and hey presto, 6 postcards.. So I added some more stamping using "Fax to Wolfgang", doodled around the edge and stamped "Skiddy" on the card too. I then stamped her on white card stock, coloured her with pencils (I used Faber Castell Polychromos, and I am still learning). I then cut her out and adhered her on some washi tape on top of her image on the card. That way it looks like you cut it out perfectly.
The sentiment was made with my old typewriter and then doodled around.

Thanks for stopping by today ! There will be a new post tomorrow for the new Stampotique Designers' Challenge.... so come back and have a look !

A postcard

Hello fellow Crafters,

For my DT post for Lost Coast Designs today I have a postcard to share with you. It was great fun to make:

I used model paste and a stencil on a white postcard. When it was dry I sprayed it with Lindys Stamp Gang Flat Fabios in pink and orange. I also went around the edge with black ink, then thought it was to dark en rubbed it with white chalk ink. I then sprinkled silver embossing powder on that and heat embossed it. I randomly stamped the background and then stamped the lady and the butterflies and coloured them with Copic Markers, cut them out and went around the cut edge with a black marker. This was it looks like your cutting was perfect. I adhered everything to the card and that was that.

I used the following stamps:

If you live in Europe you can also get these lovely stamps at :

Hope I have given you some inspiration !

A little trio of ATC's..

Hello everyone,

Today for my DT post for VivaLasVegaStamps! I have created a little triptych of ATC's. I had so much fun making these....

I started by putting some sticky tape on the back of three ATC's so they stayed together. Next I painted them with Dylusions paints and my fingers... Such fun !
I then stamped the background with various stamps. ( A complete list of all the stamps I used is at the bottom of this post). I then stamped the main images on tissue paper and clear embossed it. I cut them out and adhered them to the ATC's with gel medium. The sentiments were stamped direct on the ATC's.
Here are some close up photo's:

I used the following stamps:

Happy birthday

Hello everyone !

and happy Wednesday ! Today over at Stampotique it is Coby's turn to set the challenge and she chose "something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue". I didn't want to go down the wedding route so I thought of this :

It is a birthday card and I started out with glueing some old bookpaper on a card panel. This is my 'something old". First I gave it a coat of gesso and then I coloured it with Lindys Magicals in the colours 'Bodacious Blush' and 'Cowabunga Copper'.  I also splattered some of the same colours over the top. This is my 'something new' as I only bought these the other day. Next I used a cookie cutter which I 'borrowed' from the kitchen and stamped randomly on the card front. I also used a text stamp but it is very subtle. I stamped the main image on the card front and on some white card stock and gave her a 'blue' dress. I coloured her with Copic Markers, cut her out and glued her to the card on to the one that I stamped on there. That way you can cut off the small bits like her hair and the flowers.
I doodled around the edge of the panel and stamped the 'happy birthday' and then adhered the panel to the card. That was it...
I used the following stamps:

Why not play along with us and you may win one if two $30 vouchers at the end of the month. Just remember : NO digi's and only one entry per person per challenge.

Thank you so much for stopping by !

Wish it... Dream it.. DO IT !

Hello everyone,

Today I made a card for the May Challenge over at Stampingback where the theme is 'numbers'.

This is it:

I used a piece of gelli printed paper on which I stencilled the numbers. I used a Tim Holtz layering stencil and some white paint for this. I used a white gel pen to go around the numbers once they were dry.  Next I stamped the three girls from Sheet 146B on patterned paper and on the card. I cut the ones on the patterned paper out and adhered them onto the ones on the card. This way you get every little detail. Lastly I stamped the little sentiment in three goes on a left over strip of the same gelli print and adhered the strips on the girls.

Tim's tags 2015 - May

Hello everyone,

Time for another Sir Tim tag. May this time. And here it is:

As usual I had to improvise as I didn't have most of the stuff that Tim used. But that is the Challenge, right ? So I started with a #8 tag on which I glued some fabric. Next I inked the edges; I used Vintage photo Distress Ink for this. I used book pages, ephemera, a photo from my stash, some paper roses, some metal and a ribbon which wash tied in a bow. I also used a bit of ribbon for the top.
After inking all the edges I glued everything in place.

Thanks for stopping by !

La Vie Parisienne

Hello everyone,

Today for my DT post for Katzelkraft I have made a little art journal. It was so much fun to make !

I started with a piece of Mixed Media Paper and glued some pieces of a Paris guide from the 50's on it. Next I gave it a thin coat of gesso.
When it all dried I coloured the page with Lindys Stampgang Flat Fabio spray in the colour 'Ocean Breeze Blue'. The edges were done with 'Silhouette Silver' and a brown Archival ink pad. I also used the same sprays to splatter on the page. I also used a text stamp to make the background a little more interesting. Next I stamped the sentiment and clear embossed it.
The Zebra-gentleman was stamped on white card stock, he was coloured with Copic Markers and he was also clear embossed. I cut him out an adhered him to the page.
I really like how this came out ! Hope you do too !

I used the following stamps:

Are you brave enough

Hello everyone,

and happy Wednesday to you. Again it is time for a new Stampotique Designers' Challenge. This week the talented Arwen chose the theme of "Human with an animal head". This is what she said:

"I love to combine designs together. This time I want to see something funny. Combine a human body with an animal head. I am looking forward to your creations."

So I had a rummage through my Stampotique Drawer and came up with this:

I had to use two of my favourite Stampotique stamps for this so I combined Smile with Chessy !
I started by painting my pages with gesso and after that had dried I used my fingers and three colours of my Dylusions paints. When this was dry I used a stencil and a blending tool and the white paint to bring some more interest to the page. Next was stamping the background. A full list of the stamps I used will be at the bottom of this post.
I then stamped Smile and Chessy and the crown, I coloured them with Copic Markers and then clear embossed them. Next I cut them out, went around the edges with a black marker and adhered them to the page on top of some washi tape. The last thing was the doodle around the pages and the sentiment that I made with my old typewriter.

I used the following stamps :

Thank you for stopping by to have a look but why not play along yourself? It is great fun combining different stamps... You could win $30 worth of stamps ! Just remember, only one entry per person per challenge and NO digi's.

Apolcalypse

Hello everyone,

It's time for another DT post from me for VivaLasVegaStamps! I love their stamps, they are so much fun.. For today I did a small art journal...

Here is the finished product:

And here is how it all started. With a clean and white page in my small art journal..

I painted the page with gesso and when that had dried I used a purple Lindys Flat Fabio spray and some Magicals; they are basically mica powders. The names of the colours are quite amusing:
"Midnight rendezvous" and "Gag me with a spoon gray"!!
I just kept spraying, dripping and painting until I was happy with the result.

Next I stamped the background. A full list of all the stamps I used is at the bottom of this post.
Just to point out that the wire mesh on the right side of the page I extended using a grey pencil as it was a little to small to fill the page.

Next I stamped the main image but I didn't do a very good job and had to fill in the image using a black marker. Luckily it doesn't show.

And after some tweaking with purple circles and adding the sentiment it was finished; here is another picture:

I used the following stamps:

Until next time !

Pretty as a picture

Hello everyone,

and happy Wednesday.  Today is my turn to host the challenge over at the Stampotique Designers' Challenge blog.

I chose the theme : Stencils. I love using stencils. They add another layer to your backgrounds and lots of interest too. Use them with paint, ink, model paste or even gesso. So I would love to see lots of stencils used this week ! Have fun!

Here's my art journal:

I started with my newly acquired Dylusions paints and I think I like them. I used orange, yellow and pink. I then used two stencils to add interest.
The first one was 'Lace' by Tim Holtz which I used with model paste. I love the 3D effect. The other was 'stripes' also by Tim Holtz and I used that one with Distress inks in orange and pink. It gave a very subtle stripy effect in the background.
Next I started stamping. I used "Barcode" around the edges and "Ticket for Paris" in the background.
The main image is called 'Moth Fab' and she is one of my favourites. I stamped her directly on the page and again on white card stock. I coloured the one on the white card stock with Copic Markers and cut her out. She was adhered to the page on top of her 'sister' image. That way you don't have to worry about all the fine detail, you can just cut it all off. The little frame is a die cut.
Lastly I drew a few fine lines around the edge of the page and made the sentiment with a label maker.

I used the following stamps:

Why not play along with us? You could win a $30 dollar voucher at the end of the month. Just remember, only one entry per person per challenge and NO digi's!

Have fun..

Challenge alert !

Hello everyone,

Today a new Challenge starts over at Lost Coast Designs. The theme is 'ATC', so just a little 3,5  x 2,5 inch card.  I have made an inspiration piece. A lot of the other DT members have too ! Hop over, have a look and play along with us. There is a $10 voucher to be won if there are 10 or more participants.
Here's mine :

Isn't this doggie cute ? I made this on a piece of gelli print. I stamped the 'harlequins' and the 'cheesecloth' from the ATC backgrounds on the gelli print. Next I stamped the dog and his seat. Both are from the 'Circus dog' set. The dog was stamped on white paper and clear embossed, the seat on coloured paper and also clear embossed. I cut both out and glued them on the ATC. The little flags were cut with scissors and adhered too. Lastly I put some washi tape here and there and doodled a line around the card.
The stamps I used :

Thank you for stopping by today ! Hope you will play along, just upload your project on the Lost Coast Designs Blog HERE.

Rooster card

Hello everyone,

Today I have a card to share that I made for the May challenge at Art Journey.
The theme this month is to use stamps from one stamp sheet or two single stamps. I chose to use the chicken set.

I made this background a while ago by painting and stencilling a 12' x 12' sheet of white card stock with the Dylusions paints and cutting up in 6 postcard/card size pieces. One of them was perfect for this card I thought. I stamped the background with the post mark stamp from the set and then added the text stamp to the top. Next I stamped the rooster from the chicken set and coloured him, cut him out and clear embossed him. I added some washi tape and put the rooster on top to 'ground' him. I also put a bit of the same washi tape in the top right corner for balance. Lastly I doodled a line around the card front and adhered it to a white card.

I will also enter this card into the 'Take a stamp' May challenge at Craft Stamper

Thank you for stopping by today !

Life in the zoo !

Hello everyone,

Today it is the 1st of May and my turn to show another project with Roc Nicholas' fabulous stamps. I have made a little art journal with my favourite Roc stamp 'Horse'. This time he is impersonating a giraffe !

I love, love, love how you can manipulate these stamps and make them into something new!
For this journal I painted the page with my Dylusions paint. I stamped the background with 'Heart Vine' and doodled in and around the stamped images with a white gel pen. I also punched some small hearts to replace the stamped ones. Next I tore some patterned paper and adhered it to the bottom and top right of the page. Next I wrapped some twine around the page; I saw some people do this on YouTube and thought it looked really cool ! The horse was stamped in two parts and altered, coloured and put back together. I adhered him to the page over the twine. Lastly I made the sentiment with 2 more of Roc's stamps : 'Art Junkie' and 'Unleash yourself', I just had to draw the 'Z' as there wasn't one in the stamps I mentioned...

I used the following stamps:
