Industrial man

Hello everyone,

and welcome to this post for Country View Challenges. It is still Miriam's challenge and the subject is 'metal'. I made a mini journal :

I started with a piece of watercolour paper and Distress Oxides...

I smooshed the inks on my craft sheet, spritzed with water and then dragged the paper through it several times, drying it in between....

I then added some background stamping..

Next I stamped the buildings at the bottom, then man; I stamped him on book paper also.. and the sentiment which I embossed with cream embossing powder.

I adhered the man over the one on the paper and added the sentiment which was stamped on the white edge of the book page.

And here is where the metal comes in... I took some wire and twisted it into a circle. I attached it to my paper with staples.

Here is a close up of how that looks... I also added some white splatters and mounted the whole thing on a page out of the same book before gluing it into my journal...

Of course I talk to myself...

Hello everyone,

It is the 1st of September and that means a new challenge over at Country View Challenges. The lovely Miriam chose the theme and it is "Metal". I struggled with this, I don't know why but three of my earlier tries landed in the bin ! In the end I made this art journal page and I actually like it ! I hope you do too.

There are different metal elements on this page and everything is explained in my VIDEO on YouTube.

Love

Hello everyone !

Happy Wednesday to you ! It is time for another challenge over at the Stampotique Challenge Blog and  this week the theme was set by the lovely and very talented Janet. She chose : 'Tin is in' and this is what she said :

" I am challenging you to use some form of tin in your artwork.  Consider incorporating craft tin, tin tape, an Altoid container, a repurposed tin can or any tin object to incorporate with your stamping.
Put on your "tinking" caps and join us in this challenge to have a chance to win some Stampotique stamps."
I made a little art journal:

I had this background lying around after experimenting with mixing Gel Medium with Mica Powder from Prima called Primary Elements. This colour is called 'Hot Cinnamon'. I scraped it onto some Mixed Media Paper and this was the result. I though it was perfect for these two love birds eh... cats..
I stamped 'Romatic Text' on it and silver embossed it to stay in the theme of tin or metal.
Next I took it to the sewing machine and sewed around the edge.

I bought these tin hearts from PaperArtsy at a fair somewhere and now they were perfect to use. I adhered a metal charm spelling love to one of them. I also put some twine through the holes. I adhered them  to the page with gel medium.
Next I stamped "Chessy", once normally and once reversed using a rubber stamp which is solid. What you do is stamp the image on the rubber and then stamp the rubber onto card stock and hey presto an image in reverse. Usually not perfect but you can fix this with a marker which is what I did. I also turned this one into a girl by giving her lips, a blush and eye lashes.. I coloured them both with Copic Markers, cut them out and adhered them to my page on top of some washi tape.

Here's a close up of all this metal, doesn't it look yummy !

I used only two stamps for this:

Why not play along with us and win a $30 voucher for some of those yummy stamps..
Just remember NO digi's and only one entry per person per challenge....

Thanks for stopping by today !
