Looking through..

 Hello everyone,

For today's AALL & Create GDT post I have made a round journal page. As soon as I saw this magnifying glass stamp I knew I had to cut out the 'lens' and replace it with acetate. And that is what I did. The rest of it sort of evolved when I was doing it..

So here is how I made it :

I started with stamping the magnifying glass onto a piece of watercolour paper and cutting out the lens part.

I thought is needed something on the other side so I stamped part of a flower from this set. Later I also added the little text stamp above and below the flower. 

I planned to use three eyes in my 'looking' glass but later decided to only use one and add something else from this set. 

 Next, colouring. I used a mix of Inktense pencils and watercolours. 

Because I had made a booboo (stain from the watercolours)  on the right which I couldn't get rid off, I added some modelling paste through this stencil. That hid it ! 

Next I glued some acetate behind the hole and coloured the eye and lightbulb. I planned to back it with paper but then decided to add another layer of acetate and place eye and bulbs between the two layers. I did stamp the complete stamps onto the acetate with StaZon ink before gluing the coloured images over the top. Last thing was adding this sentiment which is part of another stamp.

And that was that ! Done !

Collect beautiful moments

For this weeks AALL & Create project I have made a mini book cover. I might still put some signatures in...

Here's how:

First I coloured 2 pieces of watercolour paper with Distress Oxide inks. I dunked and dried until I was happy. I used Mustard Seed, Peeled Paint, Twisted Citron and Broken China. I then used this stencil to 'stamp' on both pieces using the same inks. 

Next I stamped the background a little. 

I then stamped part of the big flower on the front cover and another flower from this set in the back cover. I also added the word 'beautiful' which is from a sentiment from this set. 

I used Inktense pencils to colour everything. I like the look of it but still not sure whether these pencils are my thing. I see Abs using them all the time so I thought I'd give them another go. 

And here is the finished result. I put the book together and glued the covers on. The book is made with a die from Eileen Hull.

Hello everyone,

Welcome to this week's AALL & Create project that is a 6" x 6" journal page.

And here's how I made it:

I made a gelli print with this stencil. I rolled yellow paint on my plate, took a print, rolled a very, very thin layer of orange on the plate, placed the stencil, rolled over some more with the brayer, took the stencil off and pulled a print. This is the result. 

Next I took an orange Inktense pencil and added some shading onto the circles. 

I then stamped the background and added some black acrylic paint along the edges. I used Distress Oxide Ink, Archival and VersaFine to stamp. I just choose the colour, not the brand or type. 

Next I stamped these flowers, coloured them and cut them out. I didn't like the white left on the stems so I cut if off later. 

I had some bits left of a die cut that I did a while ago and decided to use it. 

Everything put together looks like this. I added white splatters with a paint pen and some dark shadows around the flowers to make them stand out more. I used a watercolour pencil and a water brush for this. Lastly I added the sentiment.

Birthday wishes

Welcome to my blog where today I am sharing a birthday card made for the AALL & Create Guest Design team.  The stamps I used are all from the new release and they are listed underneath the photos.

There is a process VIDEO too if you are interested in seeing how I made this. Unfortunately I got so carried away that I forgot to take some progress photos. I did manage to get some stills from the video but the quality is not that great. Sorry...

Here's how:

I stamped the girl first and coloured her with my Copic Markers, then cut her out. 

The background was made with the gel plate and this stencil. I used yellow and two shades of green acrylic paints. 

I accentuated the circles with an Intense pencil and a water brush, giving them an edge and stamped the background using the same-ish colours as I used for the girl and the background.

I added washi tape for her to stand on.

Treasure Life

Hello everyone,

For today's AALL & Create project I have made a trio of ATC's. When I started this project I knew what stamps I wanted to use and that I wanted to make ATC's. Apart from that, I just played !

And here's how :

The Mixed Media paper I used was coloured with Lindy's Stamping sprays. I used the ones without sparkle for this. Next I used the 'Weathered Tiles' stencil and Distress Oxides in similar colours to add some interest. 

Next I cut the paper into three ATC sized pieces, making sure to pick the nicest bits. I then stamped the background using the same Distress Oxide inks and Archival ink in grey and black. 

Next I stamped the images I was going to use on the cards and also on another piece of MM paper. 

I added modelling paste which I later coloured whiter because I didn't expect it to dry this dull. lol I did try to colour it first with my Inktense pencils but I didn't like that. 

Colouring the images before cutting them out. 

Here you can see my attempt to colour the model paste. Not a success... I cut out the images and adhered them over the top of the stamp on the cards. I then matted the sentiments onto black card stock and added them to the cards too. 

I then mounted all three cards on pattern paper and made a little board to stick them on. I used more pattern paper to glue onto the cardboard to make it look a little nicer.

Happy mother's day !

Hello everyone,

over at the Stampotique Designers' Challenge blog it is Captain Claudine's turn to host and she chose the theme 'Motherly Love'. This is what she said about her challenge:

"Lets make something with our Moms in mind, show Mom how much she means to you this week."

I made a card for my mother for mother's day and here it is:

It is a really simple card. I cut a piece of watercolour paper slightly smaller than the card and stamped this flower on it. I then used my INKtense pencils to colour it and the background a little. The sentiment is Dutch and means something like 'have a great Mother's day', it was typed on my typewriter and adhered to the card. Lastly I cut a piece of blue card stock, a little bigger than the watercolour piece and adhered them together after which I stuck the whole thing onto a white card. 

I only used one stamp this week :

Happy Easter

Hello everyone, 

and happy Stampotique Challenge day ! Yes, it is Wednesday and that means a new challenge. 

Today's host is the lovely Nellie and she chose the theme: "It's all about birds". 

This is what she had to say about her challenge: 

"So close to Easter I would love to see you use birds and stuff related to birds, such as feathers, eggs, nests etc. in your artwork". 

So I made an Easter card:

This is a very simple card. I started with a piece of watercolour card and stamped the little bird on it. This cute bird is called 'Betsy' and is from the latest release. She was designed by my lovely, so very talented friend Karen Haselden and it is so gorgeous! 

This lovely bird doesn't need much so I just coloured her with my INKtense pencils, mounted the watercolour paper on some blue card stock and then adhered the whole thing onto a white card. 

I used one stamp for this :

When your heart speaks...

and Happy Wednesday to you. There is a new challenge up on the Stampotique Designers' Challenge blog and this week it is the lovely Sue who decided that it is going to be a Time Challenge. This is what she had to say about it:

'We can sometimes get caught up in making big production pieces. My challenge this week is to make something in 30 minutes or less (not including time taken to gather your supplies). I look forward to seeing what you create'. 

And, boy is she right... I can spend a whole day on one project. So this was quite a challenge for me but in the end I made a card in just under 15 minutes and this is it:

I really enjoyed making this quick and easy project. I cut a piece of watercolour paper to size; slightly smaller than the card. Next I stamped the heart and the sentiment using black Archival ink. 

I used my INKtense pencils and a water brush to colour everything. I dried it with my heat tool, glued it onto the card and that was it.... 

I used two Stampotique stamps for this card:

Wonderful world

Hello everyone,

For my DT post for Katzelkraft this time, I have made a CAS card. My projects are usually very labour-intensive and I thought I do something quick and easy this week.

I started with cutting a piece of watercolour paper to size. It is slightly smaller than the card that I am going to use. 

I stamped the cat and the sentiment with black Archival ink. This is waterproof so good to use with watercolours. I used my Derwent INKtense pencils and a water brush to colour this card front. 

It is very easy, you scribble on the colour with the pencil and then the water brush turns it into an ink. Once it dries it is waterproof so quite different to watercolours.
