A time of wonders

 Hello everyone,

It's Tuesday so that means another project for AALL & Create. This time I have made a mini album. I have used Eileen Hull's passport die by Sissix to cut out the book.

Here's how I made this:

After die cutting the pieces for the book I stamped this image by Dominic on the front cover. This was a little more difficult than what I normally do because this image is impossible to cut out so I had to work with it straight on my project.

Next, I used watercolours, watercolour markers and coloured pencils to colour in the image.

I then used watercolours and Distress Ink to colour the background. When that all had dried, I added some stencilling and stamping. I added more later...

I did the same with the spine of the book and the back cover. I just didn't add a focal image.

Next I added some more stamping, some doodling lines and pieces of pattern paper for something different.. The sentiment is a clippings sticker and I added two double pages inside, attaching them to the book with sari ribbon. That finished the book.

The back...

I have used the following AALL & Create products:

Stencil #39 - Lotza Dotz by Autour de Mwa
Stamp # 757 - Tickets  by Tracy Evans
Stamp #776 - Funghi Flowers by Dominic Phillips

There's no place like home!

 Hello everyone,

For today's AALL & Create post I have made a mini book that is rolled up around a card board cilinder. I have used Janet Klein's Wizard of Oz stamps to make this.

Here's how I made this:

I tore two pieces of 12 x 12 design paper by Stamperia into strips and glued them together to make on longer strip. I then added white paint with a brayer to tone down the print. Once that was dry I added stencilling with yellow paint to create 'the yellow brick road'. I also added some numbers for more interest.

Next I added random stamping and I sewed around the edges with my sewing machine.

Here's the whole thing.

Next I stamped my characters and sentiments....

and coloured them with Copic Markers. I cut them all out and ...

glued them onto my paper.

I used a piece of cardboard cilinder from a pack of clingfilm to roll it around.
I added a piece of paper at the left end which I glued to the cardboard.
I also added a piece of ribbon on the right end to be able to keep it closed.

I have used the following materials:

Stencil:
#132 - Flagstone Figures by Autour de Mwa

Stamps:
#495 - + or x by Janet Klein
#338 - Background Noise by Janet Klein
#501 - Dorothy & Toto by Janet Klein
#503 - Tin Man & Monkey by Janet Klein
#505 - Scarcrow & Lion by Janet Klein

Stay playful

 Hello everyone,

It's Tuesday, so that means a new project for AALL & Create. This week I have made a mini book.

The front of the book.

Pages 1 & 2

Pages 3 & 4

Back of the book.

Here's how I made it:

I cut two pieces of paper; one was folded into an accordion and the other was just folded in half. The one in half is going to be the cover of the book. Later I will glue the accordion into the cover. You can get a similar effect book by making a Zine booklet. This is made out of one sheet of A4 paper and has a few more pages.

I used my small gelli plate to colour the cover. It fits nicely on the A5 AALL & Create stamping block. I put the yellow base on first, then rolled green paint on the plate and laid the stencil on top. After taking the excess paint of with a piece of scrap paper I took off the stencil and printed over the base colour.

The inside pages were made in the same way but with a different stencil.

Next I added leaves from this set with black ink and coloured them in with Big Brush Markers. They are permanent when dry.

Next I added stamping using Versafine Clair inks in colours similar to the backgrounds.

Next : Washi tape.. just here and there and white splatters.
I used one of Abs' new washi tapes to add a title to the front of the book.

This lady with the cake on her head gave me the idea for this book. I decided to pair both of them with sentiment from Abs' Wisecrack set.

All finished, just having to glue it all together. I did add some black lines here and there with a black pen.

Friends, little book

 Hello everyone,

Welcome to my blog where today I am sharing a little book made for AALL & Create. I have used design paper as a base so it was fairly easy and quick to put together.

Here's how:

This is a so called Zine book. It is folded from an A4 sized piece of paper. Search Zine book on YouTube and there will be many tutorials.

First, I bartered white paint over the pages and the front and back. I then added stencilling with Distress Oxide ink. I used Worn Lipstick.

Next I added stamping.

I then added washi tape along some of the edges.

Next, I stamped the heart and the word Love. In the end I just used the heart on the front of the book and used the word 'friends' as a title.

I decided to add more washi tape, this time to go underneath the heart.

I then stamped the animals I was going to use and coloured them with Distress Ink and a water brush.

Here they are..

Front of book.
I did add some splatters.

And the pages in the book..

The back of the book.

I have used the following materials:

Stamps:
#366 - Roundly by Autour de Mwa
#350 - Spattered Numbers by Tracy Evans

Dogs, dogs and more dogs !

Hello everyone,

For today's project for AALL & Create I have made a mini book with a single sheet of 12"x12" paper. I have some step-by-step photos, just in case you want to have a go too. There are also numerous tutorials on YouTube, just search for 'book from 12"x12" paper.

This is the front, the back isn't very interesting so I didn't take a picture of that.

Here is how I made it:

One sheet of 12 x 12 pattern paper. I folded in half and then in half again from both sides. So you get 4 squares horizontally and 4 squares vertically.

Next, cut into the left fold up 3 squares, do the same on the right. Then turn the paper over and do the same in the middle but from the other side. You can see what I mean in the picture above.

Now you need to decide which side of the paper you want to be showing. Start folding up and down from the left bottom corner and go around until it looks like this. You can always turn the folds the other way if you want to other side of the paper. It will also make a difference to the amount of double pages you get. I got 8 in the end.

Here is my folded and glued book. You do have to glue some parts together to get a working book. But this is clear when you have folded it.
I decided in the end to cut a bit of the end (after folding and gluing) because I had 5 dogs so I wanted 5 double pages.

After giving every page a rough 2 layers of white gesso I started decorating, I used this fab stencil and the gorgeous flower stamps by Bipasha alternatively.

A little more stamping with black for contrast.

Stamping out the stars of the show ready for colouring.

For the outside of the book I used a piece of fabric, added some gesso and used the same stencil as in the book. I added some stamping and the sentiment.

Here are the finished pages:

I added some washi tape here and there and some pencil doodles. I added some clipping stickers as sentiments as well as using the sentiments from the set.

I have used the following AALL & Create products:

Stamp sets:
#373 - Rescue Puppies by Janet Klein
#338 - Background Noise by Janet Klein
#324 - Blooming Beauty by Bipasha Bk

Stencil:
#85 - Abundance by Olga Heldwein
