This week at Vera Lane Studio

Hello everyone,

For this week's DT post I have made two postcards. As some of you might know I am a big fan of Alice in Wonderland and I love the sets Janet has been bringing out in the last few weeks.

This is the Toad, he was printed, coloured and cut out. I placed him on a background that I create with acrylic paints, a stencil and a baby wipe. I added white lines around the circles by placing the stencil back and tracing .. I added some washi tape to ground him and added the sentiment.

This card was made with a gelli print from my stash. I printed, coloured and cut out the queen and added her on top of two strips of washi tape. The sentiment came from  the internet and is a 'queen of hearts quote'. I printed it in Janet's fabulous Babypowder font, cut it into pieces and adhered on the card.

Happy Thursday!

For today's Vera Lane Studio project I have made a card and a postcard with the same set "Alice".

This CaS card was made by printing a stencil onto the card front. I rub a stencil with Distress Oxide ink, spray it with water and print. I then added the washi tape and the strip of pattern paper. Next I coloured and cut out the rabbit and the sentiment and adhered them to my card.

This Alice card has a design paper base on white I added paint and inked up the edges. I die cut a doily and adhered it. Alice was coloured and cut out and I then typed the sentiment, I added some doodles and that was that !

Through the looking glass

The month of November has just started and that means the start of a new challenge! It is a fun one too !

Here is the inspiration board:

The words to go with this are : books, journals, alice in wonderland, gardens, garden items, terrariums, cloches, florals, pretty backgrounds, stark focal points, numbers, dates.

Of course when I saw the words : Alice in Wonderland I was sold ! I have made an Art Journal page:

This was so much fun to make ! I started with heat embossing the flowers with white embossing powder. Next I used Distress Oxide Inks to make the background. I used Antique Linen, Fossilised Amber and Peeled Paint. I used the same inks to stamp over the background here and there. Next I stamped the Alice in Wonderland figures on white card stock and gave them a tiny bit of shading, cut them out and adhered them onto the page. I also added some shading under the figures. Lastly I stamped the sentiment.

Wonderland

Hello everyone,

Welcome to my blogpost for VivaLasVegaStamps! where today I am sharing a set of three ATC's. I thought another Alice project was long overdue so that is what I did !

These ATC's were made in the same way. I started with stamping the background and heat embossing it with WOW embossing powder. I then coloured the backgrounds with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers in rainbow colours.  I inked the edges then stamped the images and sentiment. I used pages out of an old book. It has oriental letters but I have no idea what language it is or what it is about. I bought it especially to use in my projects. Next I cut out all the images and adhered them onto the ATC's after I added some washi tape on each of them. 

When this was all done I thought it needed something more so I stamped the background with a text stamp and that was it !

and happy Sunday ! Can you believe it is December ? Wow, this year has certainly gone very fast !

Today, for Vera Lane Studio,  I have another helping of Wonderland for you with the Tweeds.

This little art journal page was made with a gelli print from my stash. 

I used quite a few images and a piece of pattern paper too. Everything was coloured with Copic Markers, cut out and arranged on the page. I used a small piece of pattern paper in de window behind the Tweeds.

and Happy Sunday ! Today I am sharing a mini Art journal spread for Vera Lane Studio.

I painted the background with PaperArtsy paint and a blending tool. I then added the stencilling  with a darker green. I added some paper to the bottom and then doodled with a white pen. The mad hatter was coloured, cut out and adhered as were the accessories (cake and bottle). The sentiment was cut into strips and adhered too. Lastly I added shading and doodling around the page.

Alice in Wonderland

Hello everyone,

and happy Tuesday ! For my post for Visible Image I have made two Alice in Wonderland themed postcards to celebrate the film "Alice through the looking glass" that premiered in the UK on May 27th.

And here they are :

This card was made with Pattern paper as a base. Yes, I know... lazy ! lol But sometimes it is just nice to start with a piece of already lovely paper... I brayered some paint along the bottom and the right edge and added some washi tape. I also took the card to my sewing machine and stitched around the edges. Next I stamped all the stamps from the 'Alice' set and coloured Alice and the slice of pie with my Copic Markers, cut them out and adhered them on the card. I cut the sentiment into strips and adhered that too. That finished the postcard. 

This postcard was made in much the same way. Started with pattern paper, added paint with a brayer at the bottom and the right hand side. Stamped the 'tick tock' straight onto the card with gray Archival Ink and took the same ink pad along the edged of the card. The rabbit was stamped on white card stock, coloured with Copic markers, cut out and adhered to the card. Lastly I stamped the sentiment on white card stock, went around the edges with 2 green Copic Markers and glued that onto the card too. That was it !

Through the looking glass with Stampotique! .. and a give away !!

Hello everyone, 

Today, for the UK premiere of the new Tim Burton film

 "Alice through the looking glass"

with the delicious Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter

 a few of the Stampotique DT thought it would be a nice idea to make something to celebrate this film. 

I have made a set of three ATC's featuring Janet Klein's lovely Alice stamps.. 

and here are they individually:

Apart from the sentiment, these are one layer ATC's made with.....

the stamps, Memento and Distress Inks and Copic Markers to colour the images...

Oh, and my old trusty typewriter to make the sentiment and a fineliner for the lines around the edges...

Hello everyone,

It is my turn again over at the VivaLasVegaStamps! blog. I have made another art journal.... As usual here is a look at the finished project. I have a step-by-step tutorial for you so sit back and relax !

And here is how I made this :

I used Distress Inks a and a blending tool to colour my background. After I took this photo I decided to used Seedless Preserves as well,  but only at the bottom. 

This is how it looked after I finished blending those colours. 

Next I stamped the background, using the same inks and black Archival to add some contrast. 

Next I used VersaMark with this lovely flower stamp as I wanted to heat emboss this with WOW white embossing powder. 

There is a complete list of all the stamps I used at the bottom of this post. 

This is how it looks after I applied the white embossing powder. 

I then stamped the main images; later I decided not to use the bird. I coloured TweedleDum and TweedleDee with Copic Markers and cut them out. 

I used a piece of acetate on which I stamped the sentiment, so I could determine where I wanted it on this page...

A new adventure....

I am excited to be able to tell you that from January I am going to join the fabulous DT over at Visible Image. I have always liked their stamps and have quite a few of them so when a DT call appeared I had to apply. I will be joining a great bunch of talented ladies and I am really looking forward to it!

To celebrate I have made a postcard using one of my favourite Visible Image Stamps:

The base of this postcard is a piece of gelliprinted paper. I used a doily stencil and some model paste to create a bit more interest. The cat was stamped on white card stock and coloured with coloured pencils, cut out and adhered on top of the doily. I used another pencil to 'ground' him, so he wouldn't appear to be floating. I then stamped the sentiment, cut it into strips and adhered it to the card. Lastly I used a black fineliner to go around the strips and the card and I used some of the same pencils to add some 'smudges' to the strips.

I'm not proud !

Hello everyone, 

It's my turn on the VivaLasVegaStamps! Blog again today. 

I am totally addicted to Lindy's Sprays and Alice in Wonderland. No idea why I am hooked on Alice though as I didn't even read the book when I was I child. It was only a couple of months ago that I bought a second hand copy of Alice in Wonderland and Through the looking glass. It's a great book ! 

Anyway here is the art journal that I made:

I started the page with gesso and then used a stencil to 'build' the wall. Once that had dried I used about 6 different sprays from Lindy's Stampgang to colour the background. I kept spraying, dripping and drying until I was happy with the result. Next I stamped the background randomly. (There is a complete list of all the VLVS! Stamps I used at the bottom of this post). 

The four main characters were stamped on white card stock and coloured with Copic Markers. I did stamp the bee and the cat on the background too, so I didn't have to cut out the bee's antennae and legs and the cat's whiskers. After colouring I cut them all out and adhered them on to the page. The sentiment is a quote out of 'Through the looking glass' by Lewis Caroll. I typed it on my old typewriter, cut it into strips and adhered it to the page. Lastly I doodled around the strips.
