This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hello everyone,

Happy Thursday and Happy Boxing Day. I hope you all had a nice Christmas! For my last post this year I have made a Memory Dex card. It features Miss Dee in her party frock, ready for the New Year's Eve party!

I am stepping down from the VLS team at the end of the year, at least for a little while....

I cut the card out of a gelli print I made with a star stencil and some acrylic paint. The stars were white after printing so I coloured them with paint markers.
I added a tiny bit of stamping and then printed Miss Dee. This Miss Dee came out sometime this year and she is officially called Barb-Dee.
I coloured her with my Copics and decided to pair her with a stamped sentiment of one of the Miss Dee stamps by AALL & Create #761 - Bobby Dee. The happy came from a set with just sentiments #666 - Everyday Sentiments and the 2025 came from #1247 - Bits of Alpha.

Well, I am out for my New Year's Eve Party and will say Happy New Year to all of you ! Thanks for following me !

You'll find Barb-Dee HERE

Capture each moment

 Hello everyone,

For today's AALL & Create GDT project I have made a 6 x 6 card/journal page. I have used all products by Tracy.

Here's how:

First, I made a gelli print with acrylic paint and a stencil. I then toned it down with a brayer and white paint.

Next, I stamped this stamp here and there using Distress Oxide Walnut Stain.

Next  used this stamp with black VersaFine Clair.

Next, I cut a tag and gave it some colour with Distress Oxide in Antique Linen. I then stamped the flower stem from this set with VersaFine Clair.

I added some washi tape.

Coloured the flower stem with watercolour markers and inked up the edges. I also stamped the background a little with the same ink as the background.

The sentiment.

And here it is all put together. I also inked up the edges of the card and added some string around the tag. I adhered the tag on the page with dimensial adhesive tape. Lastly I added the sentiment. I also inked the edges of the words.

Lemon, lime and orange

 Hello everyone,

For today's AALL & Create project I have made a journal page with some of Janet's latest stamps.

Here's how I made this:

The background was made with a gelli plate and acrylic paint. Firstly roll white paint on your plate; then place the stencil on it while the paint is still wet. Place a piece of paper over the stencil and rub with your fingers to get rid of the white paint in the apertures. Take the stencil off and let dry. When dry place the stencil back on the plate in the same place and fill the apertures with acrylic paints and a piece of sponge. I used yellow (lemon), green (lime) and orange (orange). Take the stencil off and let dry. Then roll over another layer of white and while wet take your print.

This is what it looks like with the paint on it.

And here is the finished print.

I added a little bit of stamping here and there.

Next I stamped and coloured these cuties. I used Copic Markers for this.

I added some washi tape for them to stand on.

And here it is all put together. SO cute !

I have used the following materials:

Washi tape #57 - Scribblack by Janet Klein
Stencil #185 - Margarita Dreams by Janet Klein

Stamps:
#338 - Background Noise by Janet Klein
#366 - Roundly by Autour de Mwa
#1021 - Lemon by Janet Klein
#1022 - Lime by Janet Klein
#1024 - Orange by Janet Klein

Travel

 Hello everyone,

For today's AALL & Create GDT post I have made a 6 x 6 card/artjournal page. I have used some of the new products and some old ones too.

Here's how I made this:

I started with brayering a layer of light blue paint on my card stock.

When the blue paint was dry I bartered over a layer of white acrylic paint and before it dried I put this stencil on the card and wiped away the paint in the stencil openings with a baby wipe. This gave a really nice effect I think.

Next I heat embossed parts of this stamp with white embossing powder.

I also stamped it a few times with grey ink.

Some text, I always stamp some text.

With paint pens I added some splatters.

I added some washi tape to put my focal point on and a few pieces around the edges.

Next, I stamped the focal point. This is really a Christmas set but I wanted to show that you can use it in another way too.

Here is is all put together. I went around the edges with a black ink pad and added a piece of Janet's ephemera which inspired the colours of this page.

I have used the following products:

Stencil #171 -Circle Dance by Janet Klein
Washi tape #56 - Passports Please by Janet Klein
Ephemera #14 - Let's Go by Janet Klein

Stamps:
#692 - African Voices by Janet Klein
#895 - Passport Stamps by Janet Klein
#1000 - All Aboard by Autour de Mwa & Co

Sweet Sounds

 Hello everyone,

For today's AALL & Create GDT post I have made an art journal page. I have used one of Bipasha's fabulous music inspired stamps for this.

Here's how:

I made a gelli print with this stencil and 2 shades of yellow paint. I also put the stencil back on and added a little white paint to the stars.

I stamped one of the flower stamps of this set along the edges with VersaMark ink and heat embossing them with Ochre coloured embossing powder by WOW.

Next I stamped the image I wanted to use for my focal point and coloured it with Copic Markers and a touch of pencils here and there.

I also stamped the image on my page so I had all the little details that are impossible to cut out.

Next I added some stamping and splatters. I used blue because of the blue flowers on the focal image.

I then cut out the image and glued it over the top and added the sentiment and some more blue paint splatters.

I have used:
Stencil #126 - Lotza Stars by Autour de Mwa
Stamps:
#682 - Call The Tune by Bipasha Bk
#457 - Background Voices by Bipasha Bk
#625 - Vine by Tracy Evans

Rain makes the flowers grow

 Hello everyone,

For today's AALL & Create GDT post I have made a card. I used one of my favourite little people by Janet.

Here's how I made it.

For the background I used a brayer and rolled acrylic paint in different areas. I used yellow, turquoise and pink. I then toned it down with white paint and the same brayer.
Next I used this stencil, again with white paint. I like those bubbles. I added a few splatters too.

I added some stamping using the same-ish colours of ink and grey and black.

The focal points. I love stamping on book pages and hadn't done that for a while so I chose to stamp the clouds on book pages.

All coloured up!

Adding some washi tape to ground the little girl.

And here she is...

I have used the following AALL & Create products:

Stencil:
#135 - Bricks & Bubbles by Autour de Mwa

Stamps:
#338 - Background Noise by Janet Klein
#523 - Flower Pops by Janet Klein
#357 - Fly by Janet Klein
#361 - Bloom by Janet Klein

Washi tape:
