Inspire

Hello everyone,
Hallo allemaal,

Today I have a square AJ page to share. I made this for my DT Hobbycompleet de Duif
Vandaag heb ik een AJ pagina om te laten zien. Ik heb deze voor Hobbycompleet de Duif gemaakt.

I started off with a piece of Design paper from 7 Dots studio (6 x 6) and added some stamping with Distress Oxide ink in Iced Spruce. I also inked up the edges with the dame ink. I then stamped the houses on another piece of Design paper from the same series and cut them out. I added a little tiny bit of red to the window frames. I put some Tim Holtz washi tape down and adhered the houses on top. The sentiment was stamped separately and added on one of the houses. Lastly I took my piece to the sewing machine and added some stitching.

Materials:
Ik heb de volgende materialen gebruikt:

Stempels:
PaperArtsy ELB32 en ETS06
Distress Oxide Inkt Iced Spruce

Use your wings

Hello everyone,

and welcome to my blog where today I am sharing a small art journal page I made for UmWow Studio. As you might know UmWow is a company that sell chipboards. They are nice and sturdy and laser cut.
Here is my project for today :

I went for the vintage style again today. I love doing a bit of everything !

I decided my bird cage had to be silver ! So i got out the embossing ink and silver embossing powder.

Here you can see how that looked after two layers of embossing powder.

I added some black archival ink to make it a little less shiny and 'new'.

Here is a detail of my page. I started with a piece of 7 Dots Studio paper from the Writer's Block collection. I added some paint with a brayer and stamped it randomly. I stitched around the border with my sewing machine and added some pieces of paper, thread and fabric. I added some stamped butterflies and a sentiment by Tim Holtz. That finished it off nicely.

I have used this Chipboard:

You will find it HERE

Attitude is everything !

Hello everyone,

It is the 1st of May today and that means I have a project over at Roc's blog. I have made a postcard today but it is a little different to my normal stuff..

Sometimes I like to try different techniques. I have used paper piecing before but it was a long time ago so I decided it was time to do it again and it was great fun !
I used a 6" x 6" paperback by 7Dots Studio called 'Writer's block'.
I used a stencil on the background to create the blue trellis. I used a normal pencil and the same stencil to add a light lines around the blue figures to make them stand out more.
I stamped horse on a different pattern paper from the same series and did the same with the hat and eyes. I painted the pupils of his eyes with the same blue paint. I also added some shading to the horse and the hat with Copic Markers. When I was happy with the result I glued it all together on the card after adding some washi tape.
Lastly I stamped the Heart Vine and coloured in the stems and hearts with Copic Markers.
The sentiment is a small talk sticker by Tim Holtz.

I used the following stamps:

Man in the moon

Hello everyone,

and welcome to my blogpost for Um Wow Studio where today I have a tag to share with you :

I have used 7Dots paper from the Writer's block series for this. I glued some pieced to a #10 tag and scraped gesso and Art Anthology Sorbet paints over it. I also added some shading with a distress Crayon.

Here's how I treated the chipboards.

I used the man in the moon for this..

I heat embossed the solid piece with a light yellow embossing powder. I added two layers.

In the end I thought it was too yellow and I added some shading on top with a Big Brush Marker.

For the outline I also heat embossed this but used an ochre yellow and then also decided it was not quite right so I added some gold over the top.

Here you can see them together...

I had these stars left over from another project. They were gessoed and heat embossed with a holographic embossing powder. They have a lovely glittery finish. I added some brown Big Brush Marker here and there to vary the colour a little.

And here you can see it all put together... I added some bandage which I stapled on and added some embroidery stitches. I used the same fabric at the top as a ribbon. The sentiment is from an old sticker set from 7Dots Studio called destination unknown.

I have used these Chipboards:

The end is near

Hello everyone,

Today I have an art journal spread made for VivaLasVegaStamps! for you. I thought I'd try something different by not painting the whole pages but leaving some white space which is really difficult for me. I have filmed the process so if you rather watch the movie then click the link below.

I quite like how this turned out, even though I am not a big 'white spacer' !

Here's a detail photo of Mona, she's up to no good !

Here you can see another detail.....

I have used the following stamps for these pages :

Shine bright ! a new VIDEO !!

Hello everyone,

and welcome to my blog where today I have another art journal page to share. This one is for Visible Image.
I had this idea of using some of the foil you see everywhere these days and used it with a glue that is made for this so, you guessed it, it didn't work ! Duh.... But I think I rescued the page and I actually like it. Instead of painting my background I used a piece of pattern paper by 7 Dots Studio today.

I have used the following stamps for this :
The links take you straight to the shop !

If you'd like to know how I messed up ! haha and made it right again then here is the YouTube link:

tis near Halloween

Hello everyone,

I have worked so far ahead for my DT's that I actually have time to play ! It is great too... It gave me time to get my head around the YouTube thing, yes, I am on YouTube; 3 videos up to now !

I also love to play in some of the many challenges that are around and the one on the VivaLasVegaStamps blog is one I really like. Even though I am on the DT, I am still allowed to play, how cool is that !

So here is my interpretation of the inspiration board.. (photo of the inspiration board is below)

I really like how it came out. I used a piece of 7Dots Studio paper from the Nature Walk collection designed by DeeDee Catron. I added some Distress Ink around the edges and some randome stamping. I used part of the birds on a wire stamp and part of the sentiment. Dracula was just stamped on the page. I added some text from the book by Ray Bradbury called "Something wicked this way comes". I tried to read it once but thought not much of it so it ended up in my stash which is great when Halloween is around the corner...
I used a lid of a pot of gel medium and red acrylic paint for the ring and my finger and the same paint to go around the sentiment.

This art journal page is based on this inspiration board :

and the following words:

bonesskeletonsgarden gnomes, nymphs, goblinsghoulsbatscreatures, critters, vampiresgraveyards, catacombs, dead, death, halloweenspooky, creepy, and more.

So, there you have it !

Biohazard

Hello everyone,

I am so happy to announce that I was invited to join the Creative Team of the lovely DeeDee Catron's UmWow Studio !  Of course I accepted. It is really nice to extend my creative journey to other things like these lovely chipboards. The are fabulous to combine with rubber stamps!!

For my first post I have created an art journal page:

I started with a piece of manilla card stock and painted a layer of gesso on it. After that dried I painted over the gesso with some Silks. I used a blue and a green. It gives a lovely shimmer.
Because I thought it was not dark enough I used Distress Crayons over the top and sealed them with Distress Collage Medium, which is just gel medium I think. It makes the crayons go streaky which I liked. Next I used a Prima Marketing 'Finnabair' stencil called 'Bubbles' to create, well, the bubbles... lol. I used white paint and a blending tool for this.
I then used some VivaLasVegaStamps! to stamp the background and add some more interest. I used several colours of Archival Inks for this, always making sure they blend in.
The jar, jar label and sentiment are also rubber stamps by VivaLasVegas!
The chipboards I were painted with gesso and coloured with Distress Crayons. I heat embossed both to add interest but also to make the Crayons permanent. I used a holographic powder for the fish and a clear powder for the seaweed.
After colouring everything I arranged it on the background until I was happy and glued everything down. Lastly I used a small piece of 7Dots Studio pattern paper (Destination Unknown by DeeDee Catron) at the bottom to make the sand at the bottom of the sea.

I have used these chipboard pieces:

Unleash yourself

Hello everyone,

For today's DT post for Roc I have made a tag. I hope you like it, I had a lot of fun making it. Here's a picture.

I cut the base out of white card stock. I also made the little reinforcement ring for the top from the same card stock by punching the small hole first and then using a circle punch, positioning the little hole exactly in the middle and cutting out the circle.
I painted the tag turquoise and when it had dried I scraped some crackle paint (DecoArt Media Line) over it, using an old creditcard. I let this dry naturally. It is fascinating to see the crackles appearing.
Next I used an antiquing cream (DecoArt Media Line) in the colour turquoise. You rub this over the areas where you want it, let it dry and then rub it again with a slightly damp rag to remove the excess.
I also used the black antiquing cream (DecoArt Media Line) around the edges.
Next, I thought it was a little boring so I punched some circles from Pattern Paper by 7 Dots Studio and adhered them to the tag. I splattered some white ink over it and also used a paint pen to add the dots around the circles. Next I stamped the heart vine and painted the hearts pink with acrylic paint. The stems were lightly coloured with a pencil.
I then stamped the dog and the sentiment and coloured both with Copic Markers, cut them out and adhered them to the tag. Lastly I put a ribbon through the hole.

I used the following stamps:
