Be bold, Be brave.

Hello everyone,

and welcome to my blog. Today I am sharing the second inspiration piece for the current challenge on Country View Challenges. The theme was chosen by Hazel and she wanted us to use circles. Now circles are one of my favourite things to use in my projects so no problem ....
I have a little tutorial as well to show you how I made this tag. To start, here is the finished product :

And here is how I made it:

I started with a white tag which I cut out of card stock.

Next I used a pallet knife to put some model paste onto the tag.

I used some bottle caps to create some circles into the wet model paste. I dipped the caps in water to prevent them sticking to the model paste. I then dried it with a heat tool.

First coat of paint, a light green.

After drying I mixed some of this turquoise paint with a glazing liquid. This makes the paint stay wet longer. I applied it over the top with a baby wipe.

This is what it looked like. I let it dry for a little while and then.....

....used a baby wipe to remove some of the colour. Some of it stays behind, especially in the grooves of the circles. Looking cool !

Next some background stamping. I used a PaperArtsy Eclectica Set and a turquoise Archival ink for the script. I also used a little stamp from the same set which has numbers and stamped that with black Archival ink.

Next I stamped one of the Crazy Birds by Tim Holtz; once on the tag and once on a piece of white card stock. I then coloured him with Copic Markers.

He was then cut out, disregarding his legs and little 'curls' on his head. They are already on the tag and it would be almost impossible to cute them out too.

This is what it looks like with him on the tag. You can't even see that I cut off his legs and 'hair'...

Next I coloured a piece of ribbon with a Dylusions spray in a colour matching the tag.

And this is what it looks like after adding the final touches, like a sentiment (a stamp set from PaperArtsy - Eclectica), some doodling along the edge and some shading under the bird.

Thank you so much for stopping by today !

Enjoy Spring

Hello everyone !

For my second project for the Country View Crafts Challenge blog, where the theme is Spring, I have made an art journal page.

I started off by cutting out the butterflies and embossing them with the 'Tim Holtz Sizzix Butterfly duo'. This set consists of a die and an embossing folder. Next I sprayed the butterflies with Dylusions Sprays using the colours 'Fresh Lime' and 'Calypso Teal'. I used a blending tool with Distress Ink (Chipped Saphire) to accentuate the edges of the butterflies. For their bodies I used some Tim Holtz Idea-ology arrows which I attached with a brad from the same set.
Next I stamped the bird (Bird Crazy CMS212) and coloured him with my Copic Markers. I cut him out and set him aside. (I did cut off his hair and tail curl and his legs; I also stamped him on the background and when you combine the two, hey presto a complete bird). The word enjoy was also coloured with Copics. This is a chipboard.
The background was painted with Dylysions paints in Fresh Lime and Vibrant Turquoise. I toned it down a little by wiping the page with White Linen Dylusions paints and a baby wipe.
I then used a Tim Holtz stencil (Lattice work) and some Deco Art Crackle Paste. When this was dry I coloured it with the same paints to make it blend into the page a little more.
Next I used some stamps from a Stampers Anonymous Stamp set called 'Bitty Grunge' to stamp around the edges and also on the page. I used Archival inks around the edge and white paint in the middle of the page.
The last thing was to adhere the bird, the sentiment and the butterflies to the page. I used Glossy Accents for this. The word spring was made with a Dymo Labelmaker.

That was it ! I hope you will play along with us. You have until tomorrow to enter...

Eat more cake !

Hello everyone,

After doing my art journal for Wanderlust I fancied doing something else so I made this card. When it was finished I remembered that at Craft Stamper's 'take it, make it' challenge it's 'take a stamp' this month. So I am linking this card up there... You never know !

The background started out as a piece of 12 x 12 card stock which was brayered with acrylic Paints. I used PaperArtsy Fresco Finish paints for this. I then stamped the background, using stamped by Finnabair/Prima. When I was happy with it I cut it into 6 panels which can be used either as postcards or as panels to adhere to card blanks.
I stamped the bird and the hat (both Tim Holtz) on white card stock and coloured both with Copic Markers, cut them out and adhered them onto my card panel. I drew a line around the panel and stamped the sentiment (Tim Holtz) . I think this will make a super cute birthday card !

Thank you so much for stopping by (again) ;o)

Define normal....

Hello everyone,

I had a little fun time in my craft room today. I used Tim's Crazy Birds, Crazy Thoughts and the sentiments Crazy Talk.  Before this I made some 12 x 12 inch backgrounds with a brayer and some acrylic paints and cut them into postcards (6 x 4). This is one of those.

The colours are a bit off as it was very dark in my craft room by the time I finished this..
Anyway I stamped the bird, the bunny ears and the speech bubble on white card stock and on the card. I coloured everything with Copic Markers. I wasn't happy with the result as my yellows that I used for his body didn't want to blend that well. I need some more colours I think....
After everything was coloured, I cut it all out and adhered it to the card, added some washi tape, the sentiment and a doodled line around the edge and that was it...

Thank you for stopping by today !
