Cat ATC's

Hello everyone,

Yesterday I received the "Crazy Cats" stamps by Tim Holtz in the mail. I think they were designed by Kristina Werner like the "Crazy Things" that go with the "Crazy Birds".  I was so excited that I had to use them straight away. So I made an ATC yesterday afternoon and another one today !

For this ATC I used a piece of paper from a master board. I cut it to size and did nothing to it as I thought it was nice as it was. The cat & fishbone was stamped on white card stock and coloured with Copic Markers. I cut both out and adhered them to the ATC (I stamped cat & bone also directly on the ATC). Lastly I doodled a line around the ATC and that was that.

For this ATC, again I used a piece of paper that was already partly coloured. I added some more colour with Lindy's Stampgang Spray and some Twisted Citron Distress Ink. I used Tim Holtz stamps for the background. Next I stamped the cat and coloured him with COpic Markers. I cut him out and stamped him also on to the ATC. This way you get all the little bits, like the lines next to his back and his whiskers. I adhered him on top of himself, so to speak. I thought this sentiment fitted him perfectly as he looks a bit scared. I typed it on my old typewriter. Lastly I used a black and white gel pen to add some doodling.

Thank you for stopping by today ! I appreciate it !

TWO !

Hello everyone,

and happy Wednesday to you. We have a brand new Challenge for you over at the Stampotique blog called : "Two much fun". This challenge was set by the lovely Val and this is what she said:

"Nope, that's not a typo! This week, let's feature two's. You can interpret this any way you want. Duo's, Mirrors, the number two, duplicates, whatever comes to mind".

I have made a postcard. I love making postcards...

I used a piece of card that I painted with Dylusions paint. I have used Squeezed Lemonade and Bubblegum Pink and a bit of white.  I made a so called Masterboard (12 x 12 piece of card stock) and cut it into 6 postcards. I also used a Tim Holtz stencil with white paint. This doesn't stay white though and I suppose that is the nature of the Dylusions paints. I stamped the background with '2's' and some text and the barcode.
Next I stamped Minky Girl and coloured her with Copic markers. I also stamped her on the card so I could glue the coloured one over the top and it would look like I cut her out perfectly. The quote is from Coco Chanel and I thought this was very fitting for her.

I used the following stamps:

I hope you will play along with us and maybe you will win one of the two $30 vouchers to spend in the shop HERE. Just remember only one entry per person per challenge !

Thank you so much for stopping by !

Do I smell a bone?

cHello everyone,

For my DT post for Katzelkraft I had to use another one of those lovely dogs.. It is a card and this is
it :

I started with a piece of white card stock and used a brayer and some acrylic paints to create the background. I used PaperArtsy Fresco paints in the colours: Cheesecake, Yellow Submarine, Pumpkin soup, Limelight and some Snowflake. When that was done I stamped the background with a variety of Katzelkraft Stamps. There is a list of all the stamps I used at the bottom of this post.
I then picked some Designer Paper from a paper pack from BoBunny called "C'est la Vie". I stitched some of it at the right top and left bottom of the card. Next I stamped the dog and the bone and coloured both with Copic markers. I cut them out and adhered them to the card.  I typed the sentiment and adhered that too. A bit of doodling & splattering with a white paint pen finished this panel off. It was then adhered to a white card.

I used the following stamps (Click to go to the shop):

Will you be...

Hello everyone,

Over at the Stampotique Designers' blog there is a new challenge. The lovely Sue is our hostess and she chose "Only red and pinks" as her theme and this is what she had to say :

"With Valentine's day around the corner we have all seen the displays of red and pink. I challenge you to create a Stampotique infused Valentine's day creation using only hues of red and pink."

Here's mine:

This is a postcard and the base is made out of a piece of gelli printed paper. I stamped it with 'Daniel's hearts' in pink ink and coloured them with different reds and pinks using coloured pencils.
Next I stamped the heart and 'Topher' on white card stock and coloured them both with a combination of Copic Markers and coloured pencils. I typed the sentiment on a scrap of paper, cut it out and glued it to the heart.   I then cut out the heart and Topher and adhered them to the base. Lastly I drew a line around the card.

I used the following stamps :

We hope you will play along with us this week. So dust off those stamps and get to work !
Just remember that you are not allowed to use digi's and you can only enter one project for every challenge.

Thank you so much for stopping by today !

Me time..

Hello everyone,

This is my first project for the Visible Image Design Team. I am very happy to be here. Yay !!!!
I made an art journal page ; what else ???

I have used the fabulous  flower INKognito set and the sentiment called 'me time'.

This page was started with a piece of pattern paper by Prima Marketing from the Epiphany Collection called "Devine Exposure". I stamped the three flowers on it with a very light pink ink. Next I used a brayer and brayered some turquoise blue acrylic paints on the edges. I used two or three shades. I also used a little pink to give it some more interest. You can still see some of the pattern paper through the paints. I then took my Polychromos coloured pencils by Faber Castell and coloured over the flowers. I used three shades of pink and some yellow and orange.
I then drew in the stems and coloured them with a black and a white gel pen.
Lastly I stamped the sentiment on a piece of the same paper, coloured the edges with a pink coloured pencil, cut it into strips and adhered it to the page.

That was it !

You will find the lovely stamps of Visible Image HERE...

A little inspiration from me..

Hello everyone,

For my DT post for VivaLasVegaStamps! I have made a pocket letter. I see lots of people making these and thought to have a look what all the fuss is about !! lol

Anyway, here it is, complete with a tutorial of how I made it ! Enjoy....

This is the finished product ...

It is based on this mood board with the following words:

femininity, women, exploration, rainbow, neutral and nature, storm, maps, vintage, writing, script, yellows, tans, black and white, stripes, bold, rainbows, storms and more!

I hope I did it justice...

Here is the process:

I started with a piece of white card stock measuring 10,5 x 7,5 inches. This is 9 ATC's.

I used distress ink (scattered straw) and a blending tool to colour the paper..

I also used Walnut Stain to age the edges...

Like so...

Next I used a stencil with Walnut stain Distress Ink and a blending tool and also with water in a spray bottle so you get darker than the page and lighter than the page...

Next I stamped the background using Archival Inks. I did use more than one stamp for this. A list of all the stamps I used is at the bottom of this post with links to the shop...

This is how it looks after stamping....

Here's a close up...

Next, I cut the now finished background into 9 ATC's..

and started looking for stamps to use, remembering the words from the mood board.

Work in process, I just stamped the images, some on white card stock some straight on the background. I coloured the ones I stamped on white card stock, cut them out and adhered them to the cards.

And here is the finished project again...
I quite like how it came out..  I slipped all the cards into an ATC page and put some washi tape at the edge where the holes are. I did re-punch the holes...

I also took pictures of the separate ATC's:

I hope you like my project and got some inspiration to play along with us... and NO you don't have to use that many stamps or make 9 ATC's.... Just take some of the words and colours and make something !

I used the following stamps:

19653 - Bumble bee

Thank you so much for stopping by today and I really hope you will play along with us this month !

Wanderlust week 3

Hello everyone,

As you may know I am doing Wanderlust this year. Is it an art journaling course with lots of my favourite people teaching. France Papillon, Kate Krane, Birgit Koopsen and Andy Skinner are some of the names that will be sharing their tips. Great idea and I was really looking forward to it. Now it has started I am not having a great time. I don't know why. I am suffering with lack of mojo as well at the moment so that might have something to do with it...

Anyway this week Kasia was talking about composition and breaking the rules of composition. I was quite astonished as this is a course supposed to be for all levels but a beginner might be left quite confused after this lesson. I think it is better to learn to do it the right way first before you start breaking the rules. Also, when she showed her examples of 'breaking the rules' I thought that most of them didn't work but that is my opinion and of course you can do what you like. I just think art journal spreads mostly work best if the rules are followed to some extend and I also think that most people have a natural feeling of balance if you like, which makes them follow the rules without thinking too much about it.

So, after this I decided to do a half page in my journal, just to use some of the materials Kasia used, like scraps of paper, liquid watercolours (I used India Inks)  and white and clear gesso.

World traveler

Hello everyone,

and welcome to my DT post for Inkadinkadutchies. I have made another art journal, yes, I know, boring but I just love making journals..

This one was really easy. I started with painting the page with gesso using a brush, after which I painted it with turquoise, green and white Dina Wakley paints, with my fingers. I used the same colours with a bubble stencil and a blending tool to create the circles. I used a few different sized bottle tops to add the rings around the bubbles.
Next I stamped the background with the 'ATC Misc. set' and one of the text stamps from the 'Bugz set'. I then stamped the 'City scape' and 'Steampunk Icarus' on the page using Archival Jet Black ink. I think that works best over acrylic paints. Lastly I added the Tim Holtz chit chat stickers and doodled around them.

That was it. You can get these lovely stamps at Inkadinkadutchies in the Netherlands if you live in Europe or at Lost Coast Designs if you live outside Europe. If Inkadinkadutchies don't have them in stock they can always order them for you...

Eat more cake !

Hello everyone,

After doing my art journal for Wanderlust I fancied doing something else so I made this card. When it was finished I remembered that at Craft Stamper's 'take it, make it' challenge it's 'take a stamp' this month. So I am linking this card up there... You never know !

The background started out as a piece of 12 x 12 card stock which was brayered with acrylic Paints. I used PaperArtsy Fresco Finish paints for this. I then stamped the background, using stamped by Finnabair/Prima. When I was happy with it I cut it into 6 panels which can be used either as postcards or as panels to adhere to card blanks.
I stamped the bird and the hat (both Tim Holtz) on white card stock and coloured both with Copic Markers, cut them out and adhered them onto my card panel. I drew a line around the panel and stamped the sentiment (Tim Holtz) . I think this will make a super cute birthday card !

Thank you so much for stopping by (again) ;o)

Sing me a song

Hello everyone,

Week 2 of the Wanderlust Art Journal course was a lesson by Kate Crane. I love her backgrounds. I made a double spread in my special Wanderlust journal and enjoyed making it...

I also used on of her stamps, sold by Stampotique to finish off the pages.

A card for a challenge

Hello everyone,

For a challenge at Stampingback (dutch stamp company) I made this card. It is very CAS for me...

The theme was to make something with a wish for somebody on it. So anything like happy birthday, get well etc. As I got this stamp with the row of houses only this week I thought I'd use it. I stamped it at the bottom of a card panel and coloured one house and only shaded the rest. I used Copic Markers for this. The sentiment is from another company but I thought it fitted the house stamp very well. I matted the panel on a piece of black card stock and then adhered the whole thing to a white card.

Thank you so much for stopping by today !

Bad idea

Hello everyone,

Happy Stampotique Wednesday ! Our hostess today is Arwen and she would like us to use 'colour blobs'. This is what she said :

"Use different colour blobs in your project".

So that is what I did...

I used a card panel that I had made ages ago. I bought some alcohol inks and this was just and experiment. After the experiment I decided that alcohol inks are not really my thing. I will use them up though as I hate throwing stuff out and the effect is quite nice I suppose.
I chose this because of the 'blobs'. I think of them as bubbles and the kitties are flying off into space... which is a bad idea... lol
I did some background stamping and spattered some white paint on the panel and stamped the kitties on some white card stock, coloured them with my Copics and cut them out. I then adhered them into their bubbles. The sentiment was stamped on a scrap of pattern paper, doodled around, cut out and adhered. Lastly I doodled a line around the panel, matted it on black card stock and adhered it to a white card.

I used the following stamps:

Thank you for stopping by today... and don't forget to play ! You might just win one of two $30 vouchers. Only thing to remember: NO digi's and only one entry per person per challenge...

A bit of love

Hello everyone,

I had some fun today making a postcard for the swap over at Roc Nicholas' FB page. The theme is Valentine's Day and I couldn't resist using 'Horse' again... It must be my favourite 'Roc stamp' !

This card started out as a piece of Gelli Print. First I cut it to size 6"x4" and used a heart die set to cut out one big and two small hearts. I chose a piece of design paper to put behind the hearts and to put my horses and sentiment on. Next I stamped Horse; once in it's original form and once I masked off the hat, stamped it on a piece of blank rubber (a piece cut off a set of unmounted stamps) and then stamped the blank rubber on my paper and voila : a reversed image...
Next I coloured them both using Copic markers. I gave the grey version a bow and eyelashes to change him into a her...  I then stamped Heart Vine on the gelli print and coloured in the hearts and the stems with coloured pencils. I also used coloured pencils and some Gamsol to add the shading around the hearts and around the edges. Lastly it was a case of putting it all together.. I glued the horses behind the gelliprint and then adhered the whole thing on the pattern paper. Next I added the sentiment which are Tim Holtz ChitChat stickers and doodled around them..
I then added a piece of white card stock on the back of the card and that finished it off.

Thank you so much for stopping by today !

Fragile

Hello everyone,

This post is about the online Wanderlust Mixed Media art journaling course. It started on January the 1st and I was really looking forward to it. When I saw the first video and Kasia told us what to do I was horrified... Journaling where I actually had to journal on the page. Using a word that describes you at this moment.... I do not like that at all. I create art journals because I like pretty pictures and I like to combine certain images with certain quotes; sometime with some humor.
I don't journal from emotions or feelings and I never will as that is not my thing. So after being in a strop about this all week, ready to give up before I started I decided to give it a go after all...
And here it is.. not sure I like it.... but at least I tried... Hopefully the next instalments will be more my cup of tea !

Thank you for stopping by today and listening to my woes !

Walkies ?

Hello everyone,

and happy New Year to you all...

For my first Katzelkraft post for 2016 I had to use one of the new dog stamps. Aren't they fantastic !
I made an art journal page.

The base is Mixed Media paper which I painted with my fingers and acrylic paints. After it dried I stamped the background,  splattered some white ink and used a stencil with some white paint too. There is a list of all the stamps I used at the bottom of this post; with links to the shop.

I then stamped the dog and the bones. I coloured them with Copic Markers, cut them out and adhered them on my page. I used a turquoise pencil to colour the 'ground' underneath the dog and the bones so they don't appear to be floating.
I then took my old typewriter and made the sentiment which I thought fitted this dog perfectly ! Lastly I doodled a few lines around the page and that was it !

I used the following stamps:

KTZ 142 for the script in the background
KTZ 161 for the dog and the bone
KTZ 130 for the checked background stamp
KTZ160 for the circle background stamps

Thank you for stopping by today !

Little seeds..

Hello everyone,

and happy New Year to you ! On this first Wednesday of 2016 it is Captain Claudine's turn to set the new challenge over at the Stampotique blog. Her theme: Trees,  and this is what she said :

'Trees have always been such a source of life for many living creatures, I just love them. I challenge you to create something with a tree incorporated somehow."

I have made a postcard as I really enjoy making them.

I used a brayer and acrylic paint to colour the background of this postcard. I also used my finger and some white paint around the edges. I randomly stamped it after it dried and then stamped the trees and the bird on white card stock. I coloured them with Copic Markers, cut them out and adhered them to the card. I also added a few scraps of pattern paper by 7 Dots Studio; from the 'Destination unknown' pack designed by DeeDee Catron. I machine stitched this onto the card. I got the sentiment from the internet and I typed it with my old typewriter, cut it into strips and adhered it to the card. I doodled around the strips with a black pen.

I used the following stamps:

I hope you'll join us this week. You could win one of two $30 vouchers to spend in the online shop HERE. Just remember, no Digi's and only one entry per person per challenge...
Good Luck !!

More mail art....

Hello everyone,

and happy New Year to you !

Over at VivaLasVegaStamps! we are totally smitten with mail art. So I thought I'd share this envelope with you. I made this for a swap with a friend. I hope she has got it by now and this doesn't spoil the surprise !

Here's the front and the back.

I coloured the envelope by brayering it with blue, green and white acrylic paint until I was happy with the result. I then stamped it with a great variety of VLVS! Stamps using different colours (similar to the paint colours and grey and black) of Archival Ink. And that was it, really.

I used the following stamps:

Friends

Hello everyone,

I have an art journal to share today. It is made with the lovely Lost Coast Designs/Carmen's Veranda Stamps. A lot of these stamps are available in the Netherlands at Inkadinkadutchies. You'll find the online store HERE.

Here's my journal :

This is done on a piece of watercolour paper. I started with stamping the 'Grunge Black Swirl' background stamp twice with grey Archival ink. I then rubbed yellow, orange and red Brusho's into the paper and stamped with two shapes of the 'Shadow Frames Set' and water into the Brusho's. I didn't think it was bright enough though, so I spritzed some water over it and after it dried I used the same stamps and Distress Inks to accentuate the circles... I liked that better. I then used white acrylic paint and the 'Love' stamp from the 'Dream, Magic, Love' set. Next I stamped the 'Cat & Bird' on the page and on white paper. I coloured them with pencils and cut them out. Before I adhered them I did some collaging with music paper and an old comic which was coloured with the same Distress ink colours. I also doodled and splattered with a white paint pen.
Lastly I adhered 'Cat & Bird' and used some chit chat stickers by Tim Holtz for the sentiment.

Thank you so much for stopping by today !
