Imagine... La vie Parisienne

Hello everyone,

and welcome to my weekly blogpost for Katzelkraft. Today I have a card to show you. I have used somewhat older stamps because I still really like these..

The background is a gelli print from my stash. I added the swirl and sentiment and heat embossed it with powder that went well with the background. I then added the script and white embossed it. I stamped the Zebra on a piece of pattern paper and cut him out. I tore the bottom to make it look more seamless. I adhered him over the sentiment and lastly added the word "imagine" which is a sticker by Tim Holtz and  a doodle line around part of the card. The panel then was glued to a card.

Something very different !

Hallo allemaal,

Being on a designteam means that sometimes you get stuff that is a little different from what you would usually use. That is what happened this month at De Duif; I got some cuties but they are cute cuties. I normally am not into cuties at all but the stamps by Gerda Steiner are adorable I think..

Als je in een designteam zit kan het wel eens gebeuren dat je spullen krijgt die je normaal gesproken niet zo snel zou gebruiken. Dat was precies wat er deze maand gebeurde voor het De Duif DT.  Ik kreeg 'cutie' stempels om mee te werken. Normaal vind ik cuties niet zo geweldig maar voor deze Gerda Steiner stempels maak ik een uitzondering.

This penguin set has come out just in time for Valentine's Day. I have made two fairly clean and simple card with them. I think they came out great... 

Deze pinguïn set kwam mooi op tijd voor Valentijns Dag. Ik het twee kaarten gemaakt die bijna CAS zijn. Ik vind dat ze goed gelukt zijn.

A notebook

Hello everyone,

and welcome to my blogpost for UmWow Studio, where I am sharing a little book with you. I have recently rediscovered my love of making little books and I couldn't resist to make one for today's post.

This little book was made out of 1 sheet of 12' x 12' paper and I glued some fabric on the outside to give it even more interest and also keep it together. 

Here's what I did to the chipboard:

I started with 2 layers of gesso. 

Next I heat embossed the pod-bit of the chipboard. 

Next I am used a Pitt Big Brush Marker by Faber Castell to colour the top and the stem. 

I added some white details too. 

And here is the finished booklet:

I used an Um Wow Studio stencil and some modelling paste for the front of the book. When the paste was still wet I added som embossing powder and then heated it...

Born to be wild

Hello everyone,

For my weekly Katzelkraft post I have made a mini journal page.

This was made on a piece of gelli printed paper. I added the white embossed swirls on the right and then stamped and coloured the cat. I did this on a piece of separate paper. I then cut him out and added him to the background. I then added the sentiment (not by Katzelkraft).

I used the following stamps:

For my Vera Lane Studio post today, I have used the brand-new Poe ! I think he is very dapper ! I made an art journal page using designer paper by Kaiserkraft. It is from an old collection called "Timeless":

I added some black paint with a pallet knife and then coloured Mr. Poe and his lamp. I also cut out two of the sentiments and a crow. After I'd done all that I assembled everything on my page, shuffled it around until I was happy with the result.

For today's post for Katzelkraft I have a postcard to share..

I used a piece of Designer paper and stamped it a little. I then added another strip of DP with hearts as a floor for them to stand on. Sidony and the rat were stamped, coloured and cut out. I adhered them to the card and added some shading to ground them. Lastly I doodled a line around the card and added a sentiment. 

I used the following stamps:

He was a dreamer

Hello everyone,

and welcome to my first post for 2018 for VivaLasVegaStamps!  I have made an art journal page:

It had been ages since I used model paste or crackle paste so today was the day to revisit this medium. I had forgotten how much fun it is ! 

Anyway I used an UmWow Studio stencil to add texture with crackle paste. I let it dry naturally because this particular one won't crackle when you use a heat tool. Ask me how I know! :o)

After it was dry I sprayed Lindys sprays in blues and greens over it, starting at the bottom and letting it run over the page to the top. Once I was happy I added some background stamping, not much because there is already a lot going on. The Whimsical Man was stamped on book text, coloured with pencils and cut out. I added a little room under him to be able to stamp the word dreamer after masking off the words 'she was a'. 

The same sentiment was stamped on a blank piece of book paper after masking off just the 's' from she so it says he. 

I adhered both to the page with dimensional tape and then added the page to my journal with Miracle Tape. 

I have used the following stamps/tape:

This AJ page was made with a piece of a menu from a Fish restaurant which I gelli printed. I then printed and coloured the digital images and put it together. 

The sentiment was typed on my old trusty typewriter. 

I think it turned out really funny !

Hello everyone, 

Vandaag heb ik een Art Journal pagina om te laten zien. Ik heb deze gemaakt voor Hobbycompleet De Duif. 
Today I have an Art Journal page to show you. I made this for the DT of Hobbycompleet De Duif. 

De achtergrond is met de gelli plate gemaakt. Ik heb hiervoor rose, oranje en rode verf gebruikt van Amsterdam Acrylics. Natuurlijk kun je gebruiken wat je wilt. Voor de patroontjes in de achtergrond kun je ook van alles gebruiken. De cirkels aan de linkerkant bijvoorbeeld zijn gemaakt met een onderzetter van Ikea. Je kan ook stencils gebruiken en dopjes.... 

Ik heb de dame gestempeld met VersaMark en toen met embossing poeder bestrooid. Ik heb weer rose, oranje en rood gebruikt. 

De woorden zijn met zwarte Archival inkt gestempeld, uitgeknipt en opgeplakt. Ik ben nog wel even met een rose marker langs de randjes gegaan. 

Als laatste een zwart en een wit lijntje rondom getekend. 

I made the background with the gelli plate and Amsterdam Acrylics in orange, pink and red. I created some interest with a coaster from Ikea (circles on the left)  and some stencils. You can use anything from foam stamps, rubber stamps, bottle tops etc... 

When everything was dry I stamped the lady with VersaMark and heat embossed her with embossing powder again using orange, pink and red. 

The sentiment was stamped on white card stock, cut out and adhered. I did go around the strips with a pink marker. A black and white line around the edge finished it off.

Makes for swaps

Home sweet home

Hello everyone,

and welcome to another blogpost for Katzelkraft. I have made a card today and it features the 'Snail from space' lol; it sounds better in French "Escargot de l'space".

I started with a piece of white card stock on which a stamped the stripes, overlapping every second one with the next colour. I used Distress Oxides to do this starting with Antique Linen followed by: Fossilized Amber, Wild Honey, Spiced Marmelade and Abandoned Coral to end. 

To make it a little more shabby I spritzed water over it and dried it with the heat tool. 

Next I stamped the snail, once on the card and once on a piece of separate card stock where I coloured him with Copics. I then cut him out and adhered him to the card panel. Lastly I added the sentiment which I thought was quite fitting...

Today is a new day !

and Happy Thursday ! Yes, I have switched to Thursday. Today I have an art journal page and an ATC to show you. I have used the new set called : New Day. How fabulous is she ! Love the chickens too.

I made the background with acrylic paints and a blending tool. This is a really quick way to paint a background. The clouds were drawn on book paper and cut out. 

I sized and printed the images and coloured them with Copic Markers, cut them out and arranged everything on the page. 

I also made an ATC with a background that I had in my stash. I can hear her say this .....

Live your dream

Hallo allemaal,

Today I have made a tag for Hobbycompleet De Duif. I have used the Carabella 'Venus' stamp again because I think it is absolutely lovely !
Vandaag heb ik een label met mijn favoriete Carabelle stempel om te laten zien. De stempel heet 'Venus'. 

It was made by blending three colours of Distress Oxide Inks with a blending tool and then stamping over the top with water; I added some grey ink along the edges too. I also used a stencil and gesso to create some white space.  Venus was stamped on book paper, cut out and adhered. I added some chit chat stickers by Tim Holtz for a sentiment. Lastly I doodled around the edge with a black pen. 

Nadat ik de label uit wit card stock had gesneden heb ik hem gekleurd met 3 kleuren Distress Oxide en een blending tool. De randjes daarna met grijs gesponsd en toen alles droog was heb ik met een stencil en witte gesso wat wit terug gebracht. Venus is op een boek pagina gestempeld, uitgeknipt en opgeplakt en deze tekst vond ik er wel mooi bij passen. Het zijn stickers van Tim Holtz. Als laatste nog een wit lijntje om de tekst getekend en een zwart langs de randjes.
