Not a morning person

Hello everyone,

welcome to another project for AALL & Create! Today I have made a card with one of Olga's 'morning' themed stamps and this one is just like me! lol

Here's how:

On a very light gelli print mop up page I 'stamped' or 'printed' this stencil using Distress Oxide inks in Tumbled Glass and Dusty Concord.

Next I used this stamp set to add some more interest to my background.

I love this chap, he is just like me in the morning! I stamped him on the background, on white card stock and I also stamped the sentiment and some clouds. For the clouds I coloured some card stock with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink.

Next I coloured the bear with my Copic Markers and I added some white highlights here and there.

I then put everything together on the background and glued the finished piece to a white card base.

I have used :

Stamp set #253 - Morning by Olga Heldwein
Stamp set #211 - Count on you by Aida Domisiewicz
and
Stencil #59 - Weathered tiles by Autour de Mwa

This week at Vera Lane Studio

Hello everyone,

and Happy Thursday ! For today's Vera Lane Studio post I have made two postcards.

This is this weeks release called "Haircut". I thought she would look lovely with a crown so I drew her one. I added a doily and a clippings sticker on a postcard sized piece of pattern paper and stuck her on too.

You'll find Haircut HERE.

...and because today is Halloween I made a 'wicked' postcard too. I used a gel print as a background and added some doodling, splattering and brayering, all with white. I then added Sally (from the set Sally and Jack) and the dog (From the set Cat and Canine) together with a word chip by Tim Holtz.

You'll find Sally and her mate Jack HERE.
You'll find the dog HERE

Not every piece of street art is Banksy

Hello everyone,

welcome to my blog where today I have a tag to share that I made for the VivaLasVegaStamps! DT:

here's how I made this:

I started with cutting a tag out of Mixed Media Paper and colouring it with Lindys Stamp gang sprays. I used Star Burst sprays which are sparkly.

Next I stamped randomly over the tag with different VLVS! Stamps (list below) and I also used an Um Wow studio stencil called Dahlia with white paint. Because the sprays are watersoluble they react with the white paint.

Next I stamped this lady on the tag and on some more MM paper; I coloured her with Zig Clean Color real brush markers and cut her out.

I then glued the cut out one onto the one on the tag; this was all the small details that are impossible to cut out, are there too.

Next I stamped the sentiment, cut it into strips and adhered it to the tag. I doodled around the strips and also along the edges of the tag with a black pen.

Lastly I added a piece of ribbon.

I have used the following stamps:

Other materials:
Mixed Media Paper; I used Daler Rowney 169 lb. or 250 gsm
UmWow Studio Dahlia stencil
Amsterdam Acrylic - Titanium White
Lindy's stamp gang Star Burst sprays: Marigold Yellow Orange and Yellow Rose of Texas
a piece of ribbon
Black pen
VersaFine Ink Onyx Black
Distress Oxide - Carved Pumpkin
StaZon - Dove Grey

A little book for AALL & Create

Hello everyone,

and welcome to my post for AALL & Create this week. I have been having lots of fun with the new release and couldn't resist making a little book with some of Janet Klein's new stamps because they are so adorable! It is a long post so grab a drink and sit back and enjoy!

This is the front of the book.

Here's how I made it:

First I made the backgrounds. I used my gelli plate and stencils for this. I made 5 double background and 2 halves for the front and the back of the book. I used the Eileen Hull passport die to cut out the pages; that is why there are holes in the middle but I didn't think that was a problem.

The next step was using a brayer and rolling over some white paint and using these two stamp sets by Tracy Evans from the new release to add some interest.

I did the same to the cover pieces.

Next I added some more stencilling with white paint, a blending tool and this stencil.

I then stamped all the little figures on the backgrounds to determine the layouts and also to make sure that even if I didn't cut out the ones on the white card stock (see photo below) perfectly, they still would look perfect on the pages.

I also stamped them all on white card stock and then coloured everything with my Copic markers. I then cut everything out and adhered the images to the pages:

It was then time to put the book together. I did this by gluing the back of the right hand page of the first little scene to the back of the left hand page of the second one, then the back of the right hand page of the second one to the back of the left page hand of the third etc. I continued until all 5 little journal spreads were glued together.

Like this.

I used a piece of cotton to use as the spine of the book. I glued this half on the front and half on the back of the book when closed. Don't do this to tight because your book won't stay closed.

Lastly I glued on the front cover and the back cover:

Here is a look at the individual pages:

Pages 1 and 2

Pages 3 and 4

Pages 5 and 6

Pages 7 and 8

Pages 9 and 10

I thoroughly enjoyed making this but it was a lot of work. You could of course make journal spreads and collect them until you have enough to make into a journal. It could be more pages than I have done here.

I used the following stamps:
#262 - Mesh by Tracy Evans
#234 - Brush Flower by Tracy Evans
#251 - Pixie Dust by Janet Klein
#255 - Bird Lover by Janet Klein
#256 - Cat Love by Janet Klein
#257 - Lil' Magic by Janet Klein
#258 - New Day by Janet Klein
#259 - Pineapple Queen by Janet Klein

Stencils:
#39 - Lotza Dotz by Autour de Mwa
#45 - DIgital bubbles by Autour de Mwa
#2 by Olga Heldwein
#80 Lushy leafy by Olga Heldwein
#77 Sunflower power by Olga Heldwein

Today I will just wear...

Hello everyone,

and welcome to my AALL & Create post for this week. I have followed the example of Abs and made a round art journal page. So fun ! I have also used some of the new collections, so exciting! They are fabulous but then they always are ! Can you tell I am smitten ?

So, this little gal is by Janet Klein, isn't she fabulous !

Here's how:

I used Distress Oxide Inks and Sprays to make the background. I rubbed a pink DO Inkpads over the "Lotza Dotz" stencil and printed it on the circle. I also used it as a stencil with a blending tool.

Next, some very subtle stamping with yellow ink and this new stamp by Tracy.

A little more stamping with black this time and another of Tracy's new stamp.

I then stamped the little Pineapple queen, her pineapples and crown too. I also stamped part of this the number stamp on a piece of book paper, I thought I could use it as a sort of washi tape and that is what i did. I also stamped the sentiment on this booktext.

Next I coloured the images and cut them out.

Here she is...

A close up of the sentiment and you can see the yellow stamping better here.

And the finished piece. I also scraped some black paint along the edges.

I have used the following stamps:

#259 - Pineapple queen by Janet Klein
#239 - Teasel by Tracy Evans
#235 - by Tracy Evans
Stencil #39 Lotza Dotz by Autour de Mwa
