Be sparkly

Hello everyone,

and welcome to Vera Lane Sunday ! Every Sunday I post a project for Vera Lane Studio and if you haven't heard from them you should have a little peek... so many great images..

For today I have made a postcard with the 'Sparkles and Sprinkles' set to send with the ATC for the month of August's swap themed ; "Add some sparkle".

Love this set.. the girls are fabulous. I paired her with one of the sentiments that come in the set too. I used another gelli printed background and made sure to add lots of glitter and sparkle ! Shame it doesn't really show in the picture...

This is the ATC I made for the swap :

The bee also comes in the set and I paired him with some dictionary paper that I die cut in the shape of a heart and another sentiment from the set.

Glitter makes everything better

Hello everyone,

We have a new release; there are two a month most months. This time it is called 'Sparkles and Sprinkles' and it is very cute. I made a little art journal spread with a couple of the images.

I made this spread in my little book that I made for PaperArtsy. I used their Fresco Chalk Acrylics for the prints and also some of their stamps and stencils.
All the prints (about 30) were then glued together into a little book. Anyway I coloured one of the girls and some of the flowers with Copic Markers and cut them out. I used a stencil and white paint to add some more flowers.
I then tore some words out of a dictionary that are relevant to the pages like glitter, shine and sparkle and glued them to my pages. I places the girl and the flowers in between those words.
I added the sentiment which is from the same set and of course some glitter ! I put some in the hearts of the flowers, on her crown and she is also pouring glitter onto the plants.

Here's a close up of the sparkle !

Just Dance

Hello everyone,

Today I am showing you another project with the lovely 'Just Dance' set by Vera Lane Studio. You should really have a look at the Etsy Shop because there are so many fantastic images there. I always said I didn't like digital images but I have to say they certainly do have advantages over rubber stamping... You can have them as big or as small as you want, print other things on the same card and I always thought this was very difficult but it isn't ! If I can do it, everyone can !

Anyway, here is my postcard:

I took a piece of design paper and brayered som white paint in the right hand corner en up the bottom and right hand side. I added some vellum with music notes on the left and some washi tape and then stitched it with my sewing machine.
The image was printed out and coloured with Copic Markers, cut out and adhered together with the sentiment from the same set.

Thank you for stopping by !

Happy family

Hello everyone,

Today I am sharing a postcard I made for Vera Lane Studio with the 'Cats on the block'. These little cat heads come in a right an left version because they are made for planners. So you can stick two together. I am not into planners so I used them for a postcard, which turned out really cute I think.

The idea for this card came from a 6 x 6 paperback I bought. The patterns are all wooden planks like this one so I thought of a fence and these little cats looking over.. and that is what I did. I coloured them with Copic Markers, cut them out and adhered them behind the 'fence'. The top of the card is a piece of gelli printed card.

This is the set :

and you'll find it HERE.

Trust your crazy ideas

Hello everyone,

I have made this postcard with the Dancer set from Vera Lane Studio... Isn't that cat cute !!! I made a 'wall' from book paper and drew the little canopy on white card stock to put above the door. I finished off with washi tape and a Tim Holz Small Talk sticker.

I used the new Just Dance set :

You will find it HERE

Dancers don't need wings

Hello everyone,

For my DT post for Vera Lane Studio today I had some fun with the new set called 'Just Dance'.

She is adorable isn't she. I had loads of fun colouring her with my favourite Copic Markers. She has been adhered to a gelli printed background the same as the sentiment.

A chance to dance

Hello everyone,

I have a postcard for you today. It was made with yet another gelli printed background. I used a couple of Vera Lane Studio images. This little dancer is so cute ! I thought I'd pair her with something unusual ! :o)

Lol... I suppose it is a chance to dance... All images were coloured with Copic Markers, cut out and adhered to the card. I also added some washitape for the car to 'drive' on.

Thank you for stopping by today !

Friends forever

Hello everyone,

I have a little art journal to share today. I love these little Kokeshi Dolls by Vera Lane Studio.

Of course I have used a gelli print. I seem to do nothing else these days... getting lazy !

The dolls were coloured with Copic Markers, cut out and adhered to the page. I also added some white pen details to them and the page and did some collaging. The words are from another set which is 'Helga's Hedgehog'. This is a very useful set as you always need words and there are lots in this set.

There are links to both sets below.

Hello everyone,

When Stampington contacted me because they wanted to feature me as guest artist in the Stampers' Sampler, I was over the moon ! And then I found out one of my cards would be on the front cover ! Yay.... and there's more... make sure to read on !

And when I finally got my hands on the actual magazine I was even more happy !

This series is the Wizard of Oz designed by Janet Klein and sold through Stampotique Originals. As you might know I have joined Janet's DT for VERA LANE STUDIO. So many nice digital images... Make sure to visit the Etsy shop HERE.

A single card I entered for the pitcher challenge....

The sam here, this one ended up on the front cover !

And the last pitcher.

Celebrate

Hello everyone,

I have good news ! As of yesterday I am a member of the Vera Lane Studio Design Team.
Vera Lane Studio is owned by Janet Klein who also designed some of my most favourite Stampotique Stamps like the wizard of Oz and Alice in Wonderland series !  Vera Lane is however not about rubber stamps but Digital Images. I always said I was never going to go 'digital' but I must say Janet's cute images have easily won me over !

My allocated day to post will be Sunday and so you will find a post here every week ! I will also be sharing on the Vera Lane FB page.

To celebrate something as happy as this occasion I think we should have cake !

Here is the set that will be released tomorrow :

And here is my postcard using one of them.

This is a 6 x 4 postcard made with Vera Lane Studio Images. The background is a gelli print and I added some washi tape, some stencilling and a piece of distionary page. This is quickly becoming one of my trade marks.
The banner is made with the party hat from the set "Partygirl with cat with hat" and the words are from different other sets.

I hope I can inspire you to use Vera Lane digital images too. They are so wonderfully versatile.

Thank you for stopping by today !

Are we having fun yet ?

Hello everyone,

Well I was having fun actually, making this AJ page. I used a digital image by Vera Lane Studio and she cracks me up. Her name is Miss Dee.

The background is a gelli print. I added some collage elements and used an edge punch to make the scallops. Miss Dee was coloured with Copic Markers and cut out. I adhered her on the background and added the sentiment which is a rubber stamp by VivaLasVegaStamps!.

That was it !

Thank you for stopping by today !

Ball and chain...

Hello everyone,

and welcome to my blog where today I'd like to introduce the new challenge over at Country View Challenges. It was my choice this month and because it is October I chose "All things spooky". Quite funny really if you know that Halloween is not really celebrated in Holland.
One year when it looked like it was taking off I made a whole bunch of sweet bags for the kids and yes, you guessed it, nobody came ! lol... I had to eat all the sweets myself !

Anyway, I would love it if you played along with our challenge. You'll find all the rules on the Country View Blog HERE.

Here is my first project of this month. It is not too spooky but I think it is funny. I have written up the process so you could recreate it or something like it if you wish.

Here is the finished page:

And here is how I made it:

I started off with my gelli plate and some light blue paint as a base.

Next I used purple paint and a star shaped foam stamp to create some interest.
That was the background basically done. I did think that the stars weren't light enough so I used the same foam stamp and white paint to make them lighter by stamping over the top. Sorry I didn't take a picture of that but you get the idea....

Next, although the stars were now lighter I still thought they didn't stand out enough so I used a Dina Wakley stamp which fitted nicely over top of the stars. I stamped them with VersaMark ink, making sure to sometimes stamp them slightly askew. I then heat embossed the stars with white embossing powder from WOW.

I also used a PaperArtsy script stamp and some black Archival in between the stars for more interest and texture..

As my focal images I used Morticia and Gomez from VeraLaneStudios. I love the Addams Family films and I think these drawings by Janet Klein, who also designs stamps for Stampotique, are absolutely fantastic ! These are digital images and I chose to colour them with Copic Markers.

And here they are. Next I cut them out which was not easy with all the little fiddly bits on Morticia but I didn't do a bad job, I think....

I then put them on my page to see if I liked it. I thought they didn't stand out enough so I die cut an oval from book pages to put them on... sorry got carried away and forgot to take a picture....

Next I got my typewriter out and used the same book page that I used for the oval to type my sentiment on. I use the blank sides on the pages for this. I think it is nice to have the same paper for unity. I then cut out the sentiment, which is a quote from one of the films and put the whole thing together...

I think it turned out great ! I hope you think that too !

Thank you so much for stopping by today and please join us for this challenge. You might win a GBP20,-- gift card from the shop !
