Choose happy

 Hello everyone,

Today I am sharing a card made with the latest AALL & Create release. I really enjoyed making this and decided to use watercolours to colour the little girl instead of my trusty Copic Markers. It is good to change things from time to time.

Here's how I made it

I cut out a card panel using a die. Something else I hardly ever do.. I then stamped this stamp with VersaMark ink and heat embossed the image with WOW embossing powder.

I wanted  a tone on tone result so I chose to smoosh Distress Oxide ink in Fossilized Amber on my craft sheet, spritzed it with water and dunked my card in it. I dried it between layers.

This is the stamp set I chose, I decided to go for the happy one.

Here she is all coloured !

I put down some washi tape to stand her on and also in the top right hand corner to add some balance.

And here is the card all put together. I just glue her in place together with with sentiment and then glued the panel onto a card blank.

I have used the following AALL & Create products:

Stamp set #470 - Scripted diamonds by Bipasha BK
Stamp set #478 - Choose Happy by Janet Klein
Washi tape #18 - Poets by Janet Klein

This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hello everyone,

I have 2 projects to share today, both for Vera Lane Studio. It is a journal page and a postcard.

This AJ page was made with a gelliprint from my stash. I added white embossing with an AALL & Create background stamp and then put this nerdy girl on the top. I added some of Janet's new washi tape (AALL & Create) and a small talk sticker.
You'll find this girl in the set called 'Specs Appeal' HERE

This postcard was made with one of the Flowergirls from the 'Flower girls' collage set. I made the background by dunking a piece of paper into Distress Oxide ink and water. I used Spices Marmalade and Ripe Persimmon. I then brayer-ed over white paint. I added some of Janet's new washi tape (AALL & Create) and some small talk stickers.
You'll find these lovely girls HERE.

Original - an art journal spread

 Hello everyone,

It is Tuesday so it must be time for another post for AALL & Create. I have made an art journal spread for today and it turned out a little grungy, just like I wanted it to...

and here is how:

I started with stamping the main images because I wanted to keep those areas just for the flowers, so I could colour them with watercolours. I didn't want any texture paste and inks on those spots. This way I could work around them.

I did the same for page 2

Next: Texture paste with stencil #39 Lotza Dotz, still one of my favourite stencils.

Next I added some washi tape from the new release.

I then added Distress Oxide inks; I used the refills but that was not a good idea as it was way too concentrated. I kept spraying water on it to try and dilute it/make it lighter. In the end it was alright and I proceeded drying it. After that I used a beige and white acrylic paint to brayer over, to make it look nice and grungy.

I then added stamping using the same Oxide inks I used for the background and some black VersaFine Clair ink.

After that I coloured in the flowers, using reinkers again but now the regular Distress Inks of which I put one drop in a pallet. I used Faded Jeans and Chipped Saphire and a little Peeled Paint for the stem.

Lastly I put on two word chips to form the sentiment. I added some blue ink to them to and went around them with a black pen.

Here is a closeup of page 1.

..and page 2.

I have used the following AALL & Create products:

Stencil #39 - Lotza Dotz by Autour de Mwa
Stamp #452 - Astrantia by Tracy Evans
Stamp #350 - Splattered numbers by Tracy Evans
Stamps #366 - Roundly by AUtour de Mwa
Washi tape #13 - Fasteners by Bipasha Bk

This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hello everyone,

Welcome to my blog where today it is time for another post for Vera Lane Studio; the weeks fly by !

For the first project I have made a postcard with the newly released set 'Aviary'. I kept it simple and printed the images on a postcard sized piece of paper and coloured everything, I finished it off by putting some washi tape here and there and the sentiment which is part of the set.

You'll find this new set HERE.

The second project is a mini journal page made with one of the dogs from the set 'Favourite breeds'. I love sausage dogs, my mother had quite a few over the years and I had one too. Not now, sadly, all I have is some gold fish in the pond! :O)
I used watercolours for the background and then stencilled on top. I added some stamping, then toned it down with white paint.
Lastly I added the washi tape, doodling and of course the dog.
You'll find the dogs HERE.

Thank you so much for stopping by today !

Friends, little book

 Hello everyone,

Welcome to my blog where today I am sharing a little book made for AALL & Create. I have used design paper as a base so it was fairly easy and quick to put together.

Here's how:

This is a so called Zine book. It is folded from an A4 sized piece of paper. Search Zine book on YouTube and there will be many tutorials.

First, I bartered white paint over the pages and the front and back. I then added stencilling with Distress Oxide ink. I used Worn Lipstick.

Next I added stamping.

I then added washi tape along some of the edges.

Next, I stamped the heart and the word Love. In the end I just used the heart on the front of the book and used the word 'friends' as a title.

I decided to add more washi tape, this time to go underneath the heart.

I then stamped the animals I was going to use and coloured them with Distress Ink and a water brush.

Here they are..

Front of book.
I did add some splatters.

And the pages in the book..

The back of the book.

I have used the following materials:

Washi tape #12 - Horticultural Layers by Tracy Evans

Stencil #39 - Lotza Dotz by Autour de Mwa

Stamps:
#366 - Roundly by Autour de Mwa
#350 - Spattered Numbers by Tracy Evans
#466 - Quirky Friends by Trace Evans
#453 - Heart Grunge by Tracy Evans

This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hello everyone,

Welcome to my post for Vera Lane Studio. This week I have made two cards:

I used a background from my stash for this card. It is made with Pan Pastels and a stencil on the gelliplate.

I printed the monkey and coloured him with my Copic Markers, cut him out and adhered him to the panel. I put down some AALL & Create washitape for him to stand on. The hat and the sentiment are from the 'It's a party' collage sheet.

You find the monkey HERE
The 'It's a party' collage sheet is still available on request.

This card was made with one of the flower girls from the 'Flower Girls' collage sheet. I can't get enough of them, they are so cute. I made the background with Distress Oxide inks in Faded Jeans and Vintage Photo. I used these inks for stamping too; I used Janet's 'Background Noise' stamp set for this.

You'll find the Flower Girls HERE

Buddies having fun

 Hello everyone,

Welcome to my blog where today I am sharing another Guest Design Project for AALL & Create. I have made a journal spread this time. I started out with journalling and it is easily still my favourite thing to do.

Here's how I made it:

I started off painting the pages. I used a lemon yellow for the left page and the same yellow and a green for the right page. I used a paint brush and partly my fingers for blending the yellow and the green. I then took a brayer and rolled over orange paint on the left edge and turquoise on the right, top and bottom edges. I then used a stencil with Distress Oxide ink and water and 'stamped' it in blue on the right and orange on the left.

Next I stamped the pages randomly using similar coloured Versafine Clair inks. I also heat embossed the crossed with white powder for some more light and white on the pages.

I then added some grey and black stamping.

Next, I used Tracy's new alphabet stamps to spell the word 'fun', I did this straight on the page. Tip: put your lovely stamping blocks from AALL & Create under your page, makes it easier to stamp in a bulky journal.

Next: I stamped these fab birds by Janet Klein. I coloured them with Copic Markers and cut them out.

I then put it all together using some black paint on the edges here and there and adding the birds. I used some washi tape too.

I have used the following stamps, stencil and washi tape:

Washi tape #2 - Inspire by Autour de Mwa
Washi tape #6 - Crafty by Autour de Mwa

Stencil #59 - Weathered Tiles by Autour de Mwa

Stamp #338 - Background Noise by Janet Klein
Stamp #372 - Textural Elements by Olga Heldwein
Stamp #385 - Scripted Squares by Bipasha Bk
Stamp #464 - Strange Birds by Janet Klein
Stamp #456 - Snippet Alphabet by Tracy Evans
