This week at Vera Lane studio

 Hello everyone,

and Happy Thursday ! Today's Vera Lane Studio projects are two postcards. I love making postcards because they are small and yet big enough to get enough in.

I love this monkey; he is from the "Monkey Shines" set and I printed, coloured and cut him out. I made the background with Distress Oxide ink by smooshing it onto my craft sheet and dunking the card into it. I put some washi tape down to stand him on and used a snarky sticker as a sentiment.

You find this cheeky monkey and his friends HERE

This cutie is from an older set called 'Cosmos' and I think she looks adorable in blues and browns. I had this background lying around. It was made with a stencil that I used to print with Distress Oxide Inks. I added washi tape (AALL & Create) and a piece of book paper, some stamping with Janet's 'Background Noise' stamp set for AALL & Create and some black paint along some of the edges. The sentiment is from the same set.

You'll find Cosmos HERE.

Halloween

  Hello everyone,

For today's VivaLasVegaStamps!  post I have made a Halloween themed journal page:

Here's how I made it:

I stamped the moon with the bats first on the page to determine where I wanted it. I also stamped it on a piece of paper that was coloured with Distress Oxide Inks and shaving foam. I am going to cut that one out and adhere it onto my page where the other one is.

Next I used Distress Oxide Inks in Weathered Wood and Black Soot to colour the background. I used the smoosh and dip method, drying in between layers.

I added some background stamping and cut out the yellow moon.

When the moon was put in place I added some stencilling with a Tim Holtz stencil and Distress Oxide inks, again Weathered Wood and Black soot.

Next I stamped my images...

Coloured them with my Copic Markers..

And adhered them onto my page. I put down some washi tape first to sit them on.

I decided not to use the words Trick or Treat that come with this cat stamp because they were to big in relation to the rest of the page. But I found another stamp which had the word Halloween in it which I thought would be perfect. I did add some black pen around the word and dragged my black ink pad along the edges.

And there you have it !

I have used the following stamps:

Other materials:
Mixed Media paper
Distress Oxide Inks:
Black Soot
Weathered Wood
Versafine Clair:
Nocturne
Morning Mist
Copic Markers
TIm Holtz stencil TH147
Tim Holtz Halloween washi tape

A postcard inspired by Abs..

Hi everyone,

On Saturday 17th of October I was watching the Rewind of the Hochanda shows for AALL & Create's 4th birthday and I got inspired by Abs's demos. So I created this postcard with one of Bipasha's new stamps.

Here's how:

I started off by printing this stencil on a piece of Mixed Media paper. I used Distress Oxide Inks in Mustard Seed and Cracked Pistachio.

Next I took this fish from Bipasha's new Ocean Wonder stamp set and stamped it onto my card. I used Versafine Clair.

Next I used Distress Inks and Distress Oxide inks and a water brush to add colour to the fish and the flowers. I used the same-ish colours as are in the background.

Next I added stamping with this 'Numerator' set by Tracy. I used Distress Oxides in the same colours as the background but also my black Versafine Clair ink.

Lastly I added some doodle lines.

I have used the following materials:

Stencil #105 - Lotza Trianglz by Autour de Mwa
Stamp set : #386 - Ocean Wonders by Bipasha Bk
Stamp set #400 - Numerator by Tracy Evans

This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hello everyone,

For this weeks DT post for Vera Lane Studio I have made a Christmas card and a postcard.

This cutie is Cindy Lou Who and she and her tree were printed, coloured and cut out. I kept it simple with some Christmas background paper on which I put some white paint with a brayer to make the images stand out better.

You'll find Cindy HERE

So this postcard was made on a piece of patterned paper. I just added a little bit of paint with a brayer, some stamping with Janet's 'Background Noise' stamp set for AALL & Create and a doodle border. I also added some AALL & Create washitape and then added my images from the set ' The Grinch' that I printed, coloured and cut out. The sentiment is from the set 'Cindy Lou Who' that came out a little while ago.

You'll find the Grinch. HERE

A hug in a cup - a mini canvas for AALL & Create

 Hello everyone,

welcome to my blog where today I am sharing a mini canvas made with some of the new release stamps from AALL & Create. They are fabulous !

.. and here is how:

I started with a mini canvas (10 x 10 cm - 4" x 4") and applied texture paste through this stencil. When this was dry I added a layer of clear gesso because I was going to use pigment powders and that way the surface is all the same. In the end I used acrylic paints so the gesso was really not needed.

I added some washi tape just for some more texture and interest.

I painted the canvas with PaperArtsy Fresco paints in two shades of blue and cream in the middle. You can see the washi tape still in the top left corner. I also added some stamping with this set and some inking along the edges.

Next I stamped out this fab little girl by Janet Klein for AALL & Create.

I coloured her with my Copic Markers... and cut her out.

and here it is all put together.

I have used the following AALL & Create products:

Stencil #97 - Starry night by Janet Klein
Stamp set #418 - Tea Time
Stamp set #338 - Background Noise by Janet Klein

This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hello everyone,

and happy Thursday ! For today's DT post I have made two postcards.

This postcard was made with a background that I had lying around for ages. It just never seemed to work with anything I did. So today I decided I would make it work. I printed and coloured the little girl from the 'Hello Pumpkin' set and cut her out. I added some washi tape (AALL & Create) and some stamping (AALL & Create, set Background Noise by Janet) and placed her on the card. I added the sentiment and some doodling and that was that.
You'll find this cute 'batgirl' HERE.

This postcard was made with a background that I made a while ago with Distress Oxide inks and a stencil. I printed and coloured this delightful little girl called "Just add water" and cut her out. I put some washi tape (AALL & Create) down and also added some stamping with Janet's set "Background Noise" for AALL & Create. The sentiment is a snarky sticker by Tim Holtz which I thought suited her perfectly because she looks really fed up ! lol

You'll find her HERE

It is always possible... a journal page for AALL & Create

 Hello everyone,

welcome to my blog where today I am sharing an art journal page made for AALL & Create. I used some of Bipasha's stamps for this and I can't wait to start working with the new ones that come out on Wednesday !

and here's how:

First I cut a piece of paper to 6x6 and printed this stencil on it. I rubbed it with Distress Oxide ink in Vintage photo and Speckled egg.

After I used a brayer and some white paint along the edges I used this stamp again with Distress Oxide ink ( Antique Linen) to add some more interest.

Next I stamped some flowers partly along the edges and added some black paint to accentuate the black ink.

Next, I stamped the typewriter stamp on my project, first I used Speckled egg, then a grey VersaFine and lastly a black Versafine, starting on the top and bottom, working my way to the middle. I also stamped just the typewriter on some separate paper and cut it out. I will glue this over the top.

And here you see how that looks. I also used part of the sentiment that is above the typewriter and stamped it on a piece of paper to cut into strips and adhere.

I think it came out quite neat ! Oh, I forgot, I also added a tiny piece of the fabulous washi tape on the right hand bottom, just because I could ! lol

I have used the following AALL & Create materials:

Stencil #109 - Superbly square by Autour de Mwa
Stamp set #324 - Blooming Beauty by Bipasha BK
Stamp set #325 - Time Up by Bipasha BK
Stamp set #385 - Scripted Squares by Bipasha BK
Washi tape #4 - Encrypt by Autour de Mwa
