Using the gelli stamped papers

Hello everyone,

After my 'Gelli Stamping' experiments I ended up with a load of lovely papers and I decided to make some cards and things with them to give you an idea what you can do with them.

For this card I cut a panel out of one of the 'Gelli Stamped' sheets and added some stamping in the same sort of colours. I then stamped the bird and sentiment on top and heat embossed them. I drew a couple of lines around the edge and then adhered the panel onto a white card.

This is an art journal page which was coloured with a brayer and some acrylic paint. The 'Gelli Stamping' was done through a Dylusions stencil to create these two ladies. I added some stamping again in the same sort of colours and added a sentiment.

I made this postcard for a challenge I take part in which is making a postcard a day. This one used one of the 'Gelli Stamped' papers. I cut out a panel in the size I needed and did some background stamping. The butterflies were stamped on scraps of already coloured/painted papers and cut out. I adhered them to the card added a sentiment and some lines around the outside.

This card was made, again by cutting a panel from one of the 'Gelli Stamped' sheets, adding some background stamping and a focal image and sentiment. I also repeated the dark red paint by rubbing some along the edges with my fingers. This panel only had the red at the bottom and I thought it needed balancing. The focal image and the sentiment were stamped on white card stock, coloured and adhered on to the card.

This card was again made in the same way. I had the cat ready coloured as well (did it on vacation) so all I did was a tiny bit of background stamping, not too much as it is so busy already, stamp, colour, and cut out the balloon. I then adhered them to the card, added some 'ground' for the cat to sit on and added a sentiment and some drawn lines. The panel was then adhered to a white card.

This card was even simpler. I just cut out the round 'Gelli stamped' image, glued it onto a white card base and added a sentiment and some circles and doodles.

This card is one in my 'postcard a day' challenge. Here I used the paper that was used to roll off the brayer and wipe the stencils etc. Sometimes they are too nice to throw away.  I adde the paint swatch at the bottom (this was the challenge) and adhered one of the cars I coloured on vacation. I then added some stamping in the background and the sentiment.

This trio of ATC's was made with the 'Gelli Stamped' sheet I did with Distress inks. For the background I only stamped the little plants along the bottom and then added the animals. Later I decided to stamp them again on white paper and glued these over the top so the eyes are white and I could add a little colour to the eyes and the donkey's ears. The balloons were also stamped on white paper, cut out and adhered. I drew the strings with a black pen. Lastly I added the sentiment (cut into three bits, one for each ATC).

I hope you enjoyed my series on Gelli Stamping... I certainly did !

Nautical dreams

Hello everyone,

For my 2 weekly post for Katzelkraft I have made a mini Art Journal.

I started by painting the pages with acrylic paint. I used two shades of turquoise, one blue and some white. After it dried I stamped the background and added some model paste through a stencil.

I then stamped the bird on the left page and on some white card stock, the small birds at the top and the sentiment. The seagull on the white card stock was coloured with Copic Markers and cut out. I adhered him onto the one I stamped on the page. I used a white gel pen to accentuate the sentiment.
That was it !

I used the following stamp sets: (click the links and they will take you straight to the shop...

KTZ149 (for the bird, compass and sentiment)
KTZ137 (for the small birds)
KTZ131 (background)
KTZ142 (script background)

Well behaved women..

Hello everyone,

Today for my blogpost for VivaLasVegaStamps! I am sharing an art journal that was part of a set of three art journals that I submitted to RubberStampMadness for publishing in their summer 2016 edition (women of the world)  but unfortunately they didn't make it.
One of my postcards did make it into this edition so it was not all bad ! haha....
Anyway, this art journal was my favourite of the three so for today's post I tweaked it a little here and there and here it is :

I made this page by cutting a piece of Mixed Media paper to size and painting it with gesso. Next I painted it with acrylic paints and dried it. I used a stencil (Tim Holtz - Scribbles) over top with Distress Ink and a blending tool in similar colours.
I then stamped the background using Archival Inks in similar colours and also some black. (A complete list of all the stamps I used is at the bottom of this post.)
The image of the girl and the sentiment were both stamped on white card stock and coloured with Copic Markers. I then cut them out and adhered them to the page. A double doodle line around the edges finished it off.

I used the following stamps:

Family photo

Hello everyone,

and happy Wednesday once again. Today's Stampotique Designers' Challenge hostess is the lovely Nellie and she chose "All creatures great and small" as her theme. This is what she said about her challenge:

'Wild and woolly or friendly and domesticated, we love them all....make sure to include an animal or two in your creation this week.'

I've included a few more !

I used a piece of Mixed Media paper for this art journal that measures 21 x 14,5 cm or 8 1/4 x 5 3/4 inches approx. I used a brayer and some Distress Inks to put some colour on it. I used Broken China and Mermaid lagoon for the blues and Twisted Citron and Peeled Paint for the greens.
The swirls were created with a Tim Holtz stencil and some more of the Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink; I used a blending tool for this.
I also stamped the background randomly using the same inks and some black Memento.
The crows were stamped directly on the background; I just used a bit of the stamp on either side of the page and connected the black line with a pen.
Next I stamped all the animals, coloured them with Copic Markers and cut them out. I went around all the cut edges with a black marker to make it look like I cut them all out perfectly.
After I decided where I wanted them I took my page to the sewing machine and added some stitching to stand them all on. I then adhered all the animals and added some shading under them with my Copics. The last thing I did was add some chit chat stickers by Tim Holtz and doodle around them.

I used the following stamps:

We would love it if you played along with this challenge. You have all month to enter and to make a change to win $30 worth of stamps. Just remember NO digi's and only one entry per person per challenge.

Thank you so much for stopping by today !

Alice in Wonderland

Hello everyone,

and happy Tuesday ! For my post for Visible Image I have made two Alice in Wonderland themed postcards to celebrate the film "Alice through the looking glass" that premiered in the UK on May 27th.

And here they are :

This card was made with Pattern paper as a base. Yes, I know... lazy ! lol But sometimes it is just nice to start with a piece of already lovely paper... I brayered some paint along the bottom and the right edge and added some washi tape. I also took the card to my sewing machine and stitched around the edges. Next I stamped all the stamps from the 'Alice' set and coloured Alice and the slice of pie with my Copic Markers, cut them out and adhered them on the card. I cut the sentiment into strips and adhered that too. That finished the postcard.

This postcard was made in much the same way. Started with pattern paper, added paint with a brayer at the bottom and the right hand side. Stamped the 'tick tock' straight onto the card with gray Archival Ink and took the same ink pad along the edged of the card. The rabbit was stamped on white card stock, coloured with Copic markers, cut out and adhered to the card. Lastly I stamped the sentiment on white card stock, went around the edges with 2 green Copic Markers and glued that onto the card too. That was it !

I used two sets of stamps:

Gelli Plate Experiments part 5..

Hello everyone,

and welcome to the last blogpost in this series.
Gelli Arts asked me if I was willing to experiment by using the mini Gelli Plates as stamps. Of course, I love Gelli Plates so they sent me some stuff and I got playing !

Experiment no. 10

For this one I started a little different. I just brayered two shades of green acrylic paint on the page. This was the starting point for a quick art journal page.

After the paint dried I put on a stencil. The idea is to stamp through the stencil with the little Gelli Plate.

I used the punchinella again to make some marks on the Gelli Plate.

The first layer was just a lime green paint.

For the second layer I used a dark turquoise.

And when you take the stencil off... WOW... I love it...

I used the smaller stencil as well and kept it a little lighter. I also put the punchinella on the page to get the paint off. It also gives a little more interest.

And by adding some stamping with Archival Inks .....

You have a nice journal page in no time...

Experiment no. 11

I fancied doing some more. This is what I have done a few times already this week. Cover the page with one or two base colours.

Then take a contrasting colour or colours and a stencil...

and stamp.... this is a detail.

Here is the finished page. You could use this as a background for an art journal, or for card toppers, tags, atc's etc. The possibilities are endless.

And the good thing is.... while you are busy stamping and printing you are using paper to clean off your brayer, stencils, stamps and Gelli Plates.
THese papers are worth saving as sometimes they are very pretty...

Thank you for stopping by !

I have really enjoyed these experiments... I hope you have too.

I will keep on Gelli stamping and Gelli printing. Thank you Gelli Arts for asking me.
