This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hello everyone,

For today's Vera Lane Studio project I have made a Trinchie with an older image called 'Moosehunt'. The expression on his face cracks me up.

I printed and coloured the image then cut it out. I made a background with Distress Oxide ink and water. I randomly stamped and stencilled the background and then glued on my image. I added a present to his antlers just for fun.

You'll find him HERE.

Untamed Beauty

 Hello everyone,

For today's AALL & Create post, the last one for this year, I have made a card. I have used stamps, inks, embossing powder and watercolours. I really like the effect.

Here's how:

First, I heat embossed the rose stamp in two corners and the left side. I used a brush to get rid of the numbers in the image. Because of the way I stamped them, the ended up upside down. I then used watercolours to roughly colour the flowers and the leaves. I think it looks great.

The next thing was adding some stamping. I used the same green watercolour paint to stamp the diamonds and black Versafine Clair ink to stamp the text and to go around the edges of the card.

Next I stamped the bird from this set.

and coloured him. I used watercolours and a little bit or coloured pencil.

I stamped the sentiment which is the text underneath the roses.

After I cut out the bird I glued everything onto the card panel en attached the card panel to a white card.

I have used the following AALL & Create stamps, all by Bipasha Bk

#470 - Scripted Diamonds
#457 - Background Voices
#746 - Dreams That Blossom
#709 - Lighted Florals

This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hello everyone,

For this week's Vera Lane Studio project I have made a set of 2 ATC's with the set 'Nutcracker and Sugar Plum'.

I printed the images and coloured them with Copic Markers then cut them out. I made the background with watercolour paper and Distress Oxide inks by dunking the cards into the ink that I smooshed on my craft sheet and spritzed with water. I toned them down with white paint and a brayer. I then stamped and stencilled them randomly. I added a doodle line along the edges and then glued my images on the cards. I added some grey shading around them to make them stand out more.
Lastly I added the sentiment.

You'll find this adorable set HERE

I'm glad I met you...

 Hello everyone,

For today's AALL & Create GDT project I have made an artjournal spread.

Here's how:

I used a brayer and light blue and purple paint to get some colour on the pages. I let it dry in between layers. I then used white acrylic paint to tone it down.  Next I used this stencil and the same light blue paint to add the circles. I then toned it down again with white paint.

I added stamping using Archival and VersaFine Clair inks. (I just use inks by the colours I want, I don't look what type of ink they are).

Next I stamped the tall girl and the sentiment.

I wanted to add some washi tape but didn't like it until I had just a small piece in the top right corner. I also doodled around the pages with a black pen.

I then put everything together.

I have used:

Stencil #136 - Bug Hotel by Autour de Mwa
Washi tape #17 - Mix & Match by Janet Klein

Stamps:
#813 - Smile by Janet Klein
#758 - Hidden Words by Janet Klein
#523 - Flower Pops by Janet Klein
#692 - African Voices by Janet Klein

This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hello everyone,

For this week's Vera Lane Studio project I have made a postcard.

These squishies are adorable I think. These are called 'Time for Christmas'. I printed them and coloured them then cut them out. I made a background with Distress Oxide inks and toned it down with white acrylic paint. I also added some stencilling with Janet's stencil by AALL & Create called 'Snow Pines'. I think it came out lovely!

You'll find the set 'Time for Christmas' HERE

Enjoy the little things

Hello everyone,

For today's AALL & Create project I have made a postcard.

Here's how:

I added a rainbow of Distress Oxide Colours and placed this stencil on top. I sprayed with water to bleach but it didn't bleach enough so I went in with white acrylic paint and got the result I wanted.

I then stamped the background randomly.

Stamped the cat on a separate piece of card stock, cut it out and glued it on my card. I added a tiny bit of shading to the inside of the cat and doodled around the edges.

Next I put down a few pieces of this washi tape.

The sentiment.

I cut the sentiment apart and underlined the pieces. That finished the card.

I have used:

Stencil #90 - Elegance by Olga Heldwein
Washi tape #4 - Encrypt by Autour de Mwa
Stamps:
#791 - Nightstalker by Dominic Phillips
#666 - Everyday Sentiment by Janet Klein
#304 - Heartfelt by Tracy Evans
#757 - TIckets by Tracy Evans

Bright stars

 Hello everyone,

For my second project for the Country View Challenges December challenge with the theme 'Christmas' I have made a super simple card. It is ideal to reproduce quickly if you have to make lots of cards. I have used a piece of ribbon from my stash and a piece of Tim Holtz pattern paper and a Tim Holtz stamp which I stamped and heat embossed with Distress Embossing powder.

Here's how:

I cut a piece of very old Tim Holtz pattern paper to size. You could use any paper you have.

I then stamped this stamp with VersaMark and heat embossed it with blue/grey embossing powder. Don't worry about the warping. That will be ok once it is glued to a card.

I added a bow with ribbon from my stash.

and adhered the panel to a card. Took all of 10 minutes to make.

Anyway, merry Christmas everyone!

This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hello everyone,

For today's Vera Lane Studio project I have made a Christmas card with another Miss Dee. She is fabulous and shares my sentiments about Christmas! lol

I printed Miss Dee and the hat and coloured them with Copic Markers, I then cut her and the hat out. You could print them together in one go by layering the images but I couldn't be bothered. lol I am not very good with the digital side of things.
Anyway, the background is a mop up from the gelliplate that I had in my stash. I cut it to size and added some stamping and doodling. I also put some washi tape down.
I then placed Miss Dee on it; the sentiment is from the same set called

"Holidee"

You'll find it HERE.

Live each moment

 Hello everyone,

For my AALL & Create GDT post this week I have made a 6 x 6 journal page. I have used mostly Tracy Evans' products. I try and put the spotlight on each of the designers once a month.

This is totally not what I had in mind and it took me hours to be happy with it.
Here's how:

I heat embossed the top flower stamp twice on my 6 x 6 piece of watercolour and dunked it into pink Distress Oxide ink. The idea was to keep the background pink and make the focal yellow and green but it turned out totally different.

I used a shimmering watercolour paint to add more pink to the flowers and used the same pink ink I dunked the page in to print this stencil.

I added some of Tracy's washitape....

and toned it all down with white paint and a brayer. I then added stamping with grey and black inks.

I then stamped this butterfly to use as my focal point. I used watercolours to paint them but forgot to take a picture..

The sentiment I was going to use.

So, what happened was that I placed the butterflies on the background and I didn't like it. So instead of starting again I added some watercolours, the same as I used for the butterflies, just to tie it all together. I added white an black splatters and some doodling here and there. Lastly I matted it on a black piece of card stock.

Warm Christmas Wishes

 Hello everyone,

Today starts a new Challenge over at Country View Challenges and the theme is Christmas. We hope you all play along with us ! Just remember to read the rules before you do! For my first project I have made a Christmas card; well we all need them, don't we?

Here's how:

I started with stamping the snowflake all over the card. I used VersaMark ink. I then heat embossed them with white powder. Next I blended three blue Distress Inks over it creating an ombre effect. I also splattered some water over the ink to get some lighter areas.

Next I used these stamps to add more interest to the card.

I then stamped the girl and the two sentiments. I was planning on making one sentiment our of the two. I coloured the girl with Copic Markers.

After adding some washi tape to the bottom of the card and doodling along the edges I glued everything in place. I then glued the panel to a white card.

All stamps I used are by AALL & Create. Washi tape from my stash.

Thank you for stopping by.
