This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hello everyone,

Happy Thursday! For today's Vera Lane Studio project I have made an ATC with the newly released set "Messengers" and a square card with the set "Little Miss".

The background came from my stash, I just added some stamping and washitape. I went around the edges with black paint.
You'll find this cutie HERE

This card was made with a gelli print from my stash. I coloured her with Copic Markers and cut her out. I added some stamping and some doodling to the card and then glued her on top. I used the sentiment that came with the set.
You'll find Little Miss HERE

Today is your day

 Hello everyone,

For today's AALL & Create project I have made a simple watercoloured card.

Here's how I made it:

I used water colour paper for this and stamped the image I wanted to use with Versafine Clair ink. This is waterproof.

Used a piece of the same paper for the sentiment.

Start of the watercoloouring.

Here he is finished. I really enjoy watercolouring; it is nice and relaxing.

I added some of the pink that I used for the flowers on the sentiment strip as well and glued it on.
The panel is a little warped. If you want to avoid that you can always used low tack tape and tape your paper to a board and leave it there until the work is completely dry. You can then cut it to size.
I don't do that because when I glue it onto the card blank it will straighten itself out again.

I added some splatters with a white paint pen and the pink watercolour.

This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hello everyone,

For today's Vera Lane Studio project I have made an ATC with the newly released set "Esmee in Paris", she's very cute with her freshly baked baguette.

I coloured her in the colours of the French flag for a bit of fun. I added some French book text to an ATC that I coloured with Distress Oxide ink in Faded Jeans. I then placed her on top after putting down some washi tape by Janet to stand her on.
You'll find Esmee HERE

The second project is a journal spread; I used an image from the set 'Crush' that came out a few weeks ago. I filmed the process so you can see how I made it.

So hop over to my YouTube channel to see me make this.

It's not art

  Hello everyone,

Welcome to my blog today where I have a postcard for VivaLasVegaStamps! to share.

And here's how:

Fist of all I stamped the images I was going to use and coloured them with Copic Markers. I then cut them out. I also took out some words of the sentiment.

The background was simply made with dunking the card into Distress Oxide ink and water on my craft sheet; I used Broken China. I then stamped over top with the same ink and Vintage Photo. I also used Versafine Clair black. You'll find a list of all the stamps I used at the bottom of this post.

Next I added some washi tape by Tim Holtz and some more stamping, this time with Distress Ink Faded Jeans.

I then put it all together. I doodled around the edges here and there with a graphite pencil.

I used the following stamps:

Superior specimen

 Hello everyone,

Welcome to my blog where today I am sharing a tag for AALL & Create

And here is how I made it:

I started with a kraft tag by Tim Holtz that I dunked into salvaged patina Distress Oxide ink. I did this several times and dried it between layers. I then used this stencil and shite paint to add some interest. Of course I also toned it down with the same white paint and a brayer.

Next I stamped it randomly. I used Broken China, Vintage Photo Distress Ink and Versafine Clair Nocturne.

I added a black line and some splatters.
Next I stamped the deer on the tag and on some book paper. I cute the one on the book paper out and lightly coloured it with Salvaged Patina & Vintage Photo Distress Oxide inks.

I then adhered the cut out deer over the one stamped on the tag.

Lastly I added pieces of book paper along the edges and some clippings stickers as a sentiment.

I used the following AALL & Create products:

Stencil:
#132 - Flagstone Figures by Autour de Mwa

Stamps:
#532 - Safari by Bipasha Bk
#552 - Scripted Cross by Bipasha Bk
#489 - Wisecracks by Autour de Mwa

This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hello everyone,

Happy Thursday and welcome ! I have made a postcard and a book mark/tag for this weeks Vera Lane Studio post. The postcard is not quite what I wanted it to be but these things happen, right?

So, this postcard was made with the newly released set called 'sit down'. I coloured her and didn't really like it so I thought to make it into a vintage project but I don't think I quite succeeded.

If you would like to have a more successful go with this set you will find it HERE

I do like this book mark/tag though. These seagulls crack me up. I coloured him and cut him out. The background is a strip of left over gelli print from my stash. I added some washi tape (designed by Janet for AALL & Create) and glued him over the top. I then added the sentiment that is some Tim Holtz Clipping stickers and drew some eyebrows on him. lol
Keep an eye on him, he is after your chips/French Fries.. or doughnut!

You'll find him and his friends HERE.

Thanks for stopping by today !

Be bold, be brave, be you.

 Hello everyone,

For today's AALL & Create GDT post I have made an art journal spread. It is still my favourite thing to do! There are so many possibilities and there is no such thing as mistakes. You just do what you like.

and here's how

I wanted to use one of Janet's new sets and chose this one. I coloured her skin, eyes and hair only because I wanted to dress her so you wouldn't see her undies.

Here she is in her new dress !

I coloured the pages of my art journal with Distress Oxide inks and a blending tool. I used Mustard seed, Broken China and Twisted Citron. Once dry I used a brayer and white acrylic paint to tone it down. The ink comes through the paint and simply makes the colours lighter. I then added some stencilling with white paint and repeated the same stencilling over the top with Broken China ink. I made sure to put the stencil in a slightly different place.

Next, I stamped the background randomly and added some black Distress Oxide ink along the edges, again using a blending tool. For stamping I used Distress Oxide inks and Versafine Clair inks. I usually just choose the ink pad by the colour I want, rather than by the kind of ink.

I decided to add more stamping.

Next I added some pieces of washi tape.

The I stamped the sentiments.

And here it is all put together.

I used the following AALL & Create materials:

Stencil:
#132 - Flagstone Figures by Autour de Mwa

Stamps:
#489 - Wisecracks by Autour de Mwa
#533 - Bring on the sentiments by Tracy Evans
#520 - Wash & Dry by Janet Klein
#494 - X or O by Janet Klein
#543 - Reckoner Digits by Tracy Evans

Washi tape:
#3 - Ponder by Autour de Mwa

This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hello everyone,

Happy Thursday! For today's post I have made two little projects with the set "Crush" that came out this week. I made a book mark/tag and a postcard.

This bookmark was made with the new set Crush, as was the postcard below. Isn't she cute? The background is a mop up piece of paper from the Gelli Plate. I coloured her with my Copic Markers and cut her out before glueing her onto the tag. I added a sentiment from Janet's stamp set called X or O by AALL & Create.

This postcard was made with the same set. I decided to not go for pink or red but do something different. I started with heat embossing the hearts on the background of this postcard sized paper. It is a stamp by Bipasha #535 by AALL & Create. I then used a blending tool and yellow Distress Ink to give it some colour. I coloured the little people and cut them out. I then glued some washi tape on the card (Janet's design 'Flowerdancing' for AAL & Create) and glued them on top. The sentiment is from the same set.

You'll find 'Crush' HERE

This is not a photo opportunity.

  Hello everyone,

Welcome to my blog where today I am sharing a project for VivaLasVegaStamps!  This time I have made an art journal spread and I had to use some of the new Banksy inspired stamps again. Love them !

As soon as I saw this rat and the girl on the stool I knew that I wanted to make these AJ pages!
I started with a blending tool and adding inks. I used Distress Oxide inks, Worn Lipstick, Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade. I then used a brayer and white paint and toned it down, especially along the edges. I then added some random stamping and used a circle stencil with more white paint.
I stamped the main images and gave them a little hint of colour, adhered them to the page on top of some washi tape. Lastly I added splatters, doodling and the sentiment of course which I think was apt for the scene.

I have used the following stamps:
