This week at Vera Lane Studio

Hello everyone,

Happy Thursday ! Today I am sharing two little projects for Vera Lane Studio. I have made a postcard and an ATC.

This postcard was made with the newly released set 'Fragile'. I decided to put her in the box. I printed both images and the sentiment and coloured the girl and the box with my Copic Markers. I then cut them out and with a craft knife I cut a slit in the box, just above the line of the front panel. I them slid the girl in there. The background was made with a stencil, Distress Oxide ink, some acrylic paint and a little stamping and doodling. I glued the image on the card after applying some washi tape for the box to sit on. Lastly I added the sentiment.

You find the set 'Fragile' HERE

I love these cats that came out a few weeks ago and thought to use another one today. I printed the cat and the sentiment, coloured the cat but not before I made a new label for the bottle on his head... lol
I added some stripes on his body too, just for fun. I found a suitable ready coloured ATC in my stash and added some stamping in orange, some white heat embossing and some doodling. I then put the cat on the card, after added some washi tape for him to sit on.

You'll find all 5 fab cats from the set 'Catness'  HERE

It is wine o'clock

Hello everyone,

For today's VivaLasVegaStamps! project I have made an art journal spread using one of my favourite colour combinations. Lately I have been using lots of blues and greens so it was nice to get back to my pinks and oranges!

I think quite of few of us feel like it is wine o'clock in this weird time we are living in ! lol

Here's how I made it..

First I tore two pages out of my journal, the one the final AJ is in, and cut it slightly smaller so I could glue it back into the book. I do this so the book doesn't get any thicker and fuller. I used a stencil and some modelling paste to get some texture and when this was dry I sprayed the pages with Distress Oxide Ink Sprays. The yellow wasn't bright enough form me so I added some Distress Oxide ink in a brighter yellow with a blending tool. (List of materials as well as the stamps I used is at the bottom of this post). After this was all dry I added some white paint over the top with a brayer. Of course it takes on the colour underneath and doesn't show up as white but simply lightens the colours.

Next I stamped the background with a variety of stamps and ink colours.

I then got carried away and forgot to take more photos but I didn't do an awful lot more to it. I just added the word currently and did some doodling around the edges. Then stamped the lady, coloured her with Copic Markers, cut her out and adhered her onto the right page. I then stamped the sentiment, changed it and added that to the left page. I doodled around the words, splattered some white ink around and added some shading under the lady.

I have used the following stamps:

Rest of materials:
Modeling paste, I used Grunge Paste by PaperArtsy
Stencil - Bubble by Tim Holtz

Distress Oxide Sprays: Picked Raspberry, Squeezed Lemonade and Spiced Marmelade
Distress Oxide Ink: Mustard Seed

White paint by Amsterdam

Archival Inks: Magenta Hue, Venetian Orange, Watering Can and Jet Black.

With brave wings

Hello everyone,

Welcome to my blog, where today I am sharing a tag that I made with some of the new stamps and stencils by AALL & Create. I love this new release, it is awesome!

And here is how I made it:

I tore a flap of the top of a card board box and cut the torn edge straight. I then tore some of the paper off to expose the ribs underneath. I painted it roughly with white gesso and then used a brayer and rolled some beige acrylic paint over the top.
Next I took this new stencil by Janet Klein and some modelling paste which I mixed with some turquoise acrylic paint and added some stars.

Next I added some stamping with Ground Espresso Distress Oxide ink and also went around the edges of the tag with a blending tool and the same ink to make it look even more shabby.

More stamping, this time I added some splatter with this 'Splodge' stamp.

Next, I stamped the fairy and the sentiment..

Here she is coloured. I tried to stay in the same colours as the tag itself. I just added a little pink for her eye and the heart. The sentiment was stamped on a piece of paper that I tore of the top of the tag.

And here it is all put together..

I have used the following stamps for this tag:

#357 - Fly by Janet Klein
#366 - Roundly by Autour de Mwa
#362 - Splodge by Autour de Mwa

Stencil:
#97 by Janet Klein

This week at Vera Lane Studio

Hello everyone,

Happy Thursday! For today's post I have made a postcard and a mini journal page.

This postcard was made with the newly released Mermaid 1 & 2. I printed and coloured here, then cut her out and adhered her onto a piece of gelli printed paper. I added a Clippings Sticker and that was that !

You will find this cute mermaid HERE

This AJ page was really quick and simple to make. I adhered a piece of Tim Holtz tissue paper on the top of the page, then went over it with gesso. I used Big Brush markers by Faber Castell to add colour to the flower. Next I printed and coloured Frida, cut her out and added her to the page. I did put some washi tape down for her to stand on. I then added ink around the pages and also some doodle lines. The sentiment comes with Frida.

You'll find Little Frida HERE

Relax, we are all crazy...

Hello everyone,

welcome to my blog where today I am sharing a postcard I made for AALL & Create. I used some new release stamps and some old too.
I wanted to create a nice colourful project which I think I did, but I am not sure whether I like it much. Might be a little busy ! lol

And here is how:

Fist I cut a postcard size piece of paper out of a sheet of watercolour paper. I then decided to use good old Distress Inks. I smooshed them onto my craft sheet and dunked the paper in it and dried. I repeated this until I was happy. I used three colours: Picked Raspberry, Salty Ocean and Mustard Seed.
I then put the Sundew stencil on top and added white acrylic paint over it. I applied two layers.

Next I randomly stamped the card with these two stamp sets...

... and added some numbers from this stamp.

Stamped and coloured the birds and cut them out when I was finished.

I added some black acrylic paint along the edges of the card where the black stamping is to frame it. Next I put two types of washi tape towards the bottom of the card for the birds to sit on.
I then added the birds. I didn't think they stood out well enough so I used a paintbrush with some white acrylic paint to go around the birds to make them a bit more visible on the busy background.
When I was happy I added the sentiment which is a Tim Holtz Snarky sticker. I intentionally used the black version of the sticker because it balances the card out.

I used the following stamps:

#292 - Scripts by Bipasha Bk
#304 Heartfelt by Tracy Evans
#280 - Enumerated by Olga Heldwein
#346 - For the birds by Janet Klein

I also used a stencil:
#94 - Sundew by Olga Heldwein

This week at Vera Lane Studio

Hello everyone,

Happy Thursday! I hope you are all well ! For today's Vera Lane Studio post I have made a tag with the newly released 'Strong woman' and a card with an older set called 'True Friends'.

I had a piece of paper lying about which was an off cut from a gelli print. I cut it into a tag shape and added a stencil print, rub stencil with Distress Oxide ink, spritz with water and print, and some stamping. I also went around the edge of the tag with the black Archival Ink pad I used for the stamping. She lady was printed, coloured and cut out; I put her on some washi tape to ground her and added a snarky sticker that I thought fitter the image perfectly.

You'll find this fab lady and her sister HERE

This card was made with an image from the set True Friends. She was printed, coloured and cut out. I made the background with spray paints by Dina Wakley and added some stamping and stencilling. She was placed on top some washi tape. I added a sentiment from a sticker book.

You'll find her and her friend HERE

The world is my runway

Hello everyone,

it is my turn again to show you a project with the fabulous VivaLasVegaStamps! stamps. I have made a mini journal page for today.

I had a piece of card stock with brown ink on it lying on my desk and thought I could use it for my project. I added a little gelli printing in the edges in turquoise and then stamped here and there, using Archival inks in Aquamarine, Potting Soil and Jet Black. (Full list of stamps used is at the bottom of this post.)
I stamped the lady on white card stock and decided I liked her uncoloured so I cut her out and adhered her in the corner of my piece of paper. I then chose the sentiment and stamped that too. After cutting it into strips I adhered it to the paper too. Lastly I matted the whole thing on black card stock to make it pop.

I have used the following stamps:

Other materials:
Distress Oxide sprays (already on the background)
Archival Inks: Jet Black, Aquamarine and Potting soil
Dina Wakley Media paint : Turquoise

A daring adventure

Hello everyone,

For this week's AALL & Create Guest Designer project I have made an art journal page with some fabulous new release goodies !

And here is how I made it..

First, I painted a piece of paper that I tore out of my art journal. I sometimes like this rough edge. I then used a brayer and Dina Wakley paints to get some colour on the paper. I used yellow, green a couple of shades of blue and a tiny bit of orange at the bottom of the page. Next I took this fabulous stencil and used it in the traditional way by dabbing white paint over it, making sure the centres of the circles were whiter than the rest.

Next I stamped the background using Archival inks and Distress Oxide inks in matching colours.

I still was not happy and decided to add some white embossing, using this fab stamp by Olga. I wanted a busy background..

I then stamped the balloon on some tissue paper, sorry forgot to take a photo, and glued it onto my page with gel medium. After it dried I used Faber Castell Big Brush markers to get some colour on the balloon. I also added the sentiment separately and because it wasn't busy enough, lol, I also added a few strips of washi tape here and there.

When I was happy with it, I matted it on black card which makes it pop !

I used the following AALL & Create materials:

Stamps:

#292 - Scripts by Bipasha Bk
#293 - Squared Digits by Bipasha Bk
#280 - Enumerated  by Olga Heldwein
#319 - Magnify it by Bipasha Bk

Stencil:
#94 - Sundew by Olga Heldwein

This week at Vera Lane Studio

Hello everyone,

and Happy Thursday ! For this week's Vera Lane Studio blogpost I have made a journal spread and a tag.

These cuties were released this week and are called "Catness". There are 5 in the set and they are fabulous, even to a non-catlover like me ! lol The background was made with acrylic paints and some stencilling and stamping. The cats were coloured with Copic Markers.

You'll find them HERE

This tag was made with a piece of Gelli Printed paper and on of the little girls from the "be You" set.
She was coloured with Copics and coloured pencils. Sentiment is made out of Tim Holtz Clippings. I also made her a crown out of book paper.

You'll find here HERE.

It's all perspective

Hello everyone,

I was very lucky and happy to have been able to play with some of the new release stamps by AALL & Create for my DT post for today. I have made a little tiny book.. don't judge it by it's cover ! :o)

and here's how I made this:

This booklet is made with one sheet of A4 paper. If you have been watching Abs' lives you might have seen him make an accordion card. This is the same principle but instead of leaving it as an accordion I glued the pages together to make a little book.

Next I started with this fab new stencil and a gelli plate. I used Dina Wakley paints to make some prints straight in this book. I then added white paint and some of the accent colour with my fingers and when I was happy I used a small round gelli plate and 'stamped' parts of the stencil again over the top with the accent colour. I hope that makes sense..

Originally there was a pink spread over two pages too but I didn't like that so I simply removed the pages from the book.

Next I stamped all the pages with these two background stamps from the last release. I also went around the edges with black acrylic paint, using my finger.

Next I brayered som more paint on two pieces of card stock. They will be the front and back covers.
I stamped the same background stamp with blue VersaFine Clair. It didn't want to dry quick enough so I decided to heat emboss the image with some embossingpowder.

Of course this stamp is beautiful but much to big for this little book so I chose a piece of one wing that I could use for the front of the book. I coloured it and cut it out.

Are these gnomes not adorable ! lol I decided to use these for my little journal spreads inside the book. I chose three and coloured them, cut them out and adhered them onto my pages. I added a snarky sticker on the opposite page.

Front of the book...

Back of the book.

I used the following stamps:

#292 - Scripts by Bipasha BK
#304 - Heartfelt by Tracy Evans
#322 - Floral Wings by Olga Heldwein
#347 - Gnomes by Janet Klein

Stencil:
#90 Elegance by Olga Heldwein
