This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hello everyone,

For this week's Vera Lane Studio post we are going hiking !

So, for something different this week I printed the elements of this new set called "On the trail" on a piece of watercolour paper and decided instead of always going for my Copic Markers to do a little watercolour painting. So that's what I did. It is actually more difficult than you think but in the end I was happy with the result.

You'll find this new set 'On the trail' HERE

Keeping you close in my thoughts

 Hello everyone,

Welcome to my blog where today I am sharing a card that I made for AALL & Create.

Here is how:

I wanted to do a vintage looking card and used Kraft instead of white card stock.

I coloured the image with Ecoline watercolour markers.

The sentiment I wanted to use..

I also cut a mat of the same Kraft card and coloured it with the same watercolour markers as I used on the flowers. I splattered some black paint on the card too.
They sentiment was cut into strips, glued down and I added some coloured pencil under the strips to give them some shading.

Sometimes I enjoy doing something non Mixed Media, especially when I have been elbow deep in acrylic paint for days!

I have only used two stamps from the following sets :

#630 - Basic Sentiments by Bipasha Bk
#622 - Petal Power by Bipasha Bk

This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hello everyone,

For today's Vera Lane Studio project I have made a triptych of ATC's. I have used the newly released No Probllama for this. Aren't they the cutest?

I found three similar already coloured ATC sized cards in my stash and added stencilling, stamping and washi tape to them. I printed, coloured and cut out the Llamas and put them on the cards. They middle card was reserved for the sentiment but I thought it was a little bare so decide to add the birdie too. I matted the cards on black card stock and then on a piece of designpaper.

Here is a view of each card separately:

You'll find these Llamas HERE.

Banksy wasn't here

  Hello everyone,

For today's VivaLasVegaStamps! project I have made an art journal spread.

here's how I made it:

I painted the pages with acrylic paint, making sure to leave some white space. I then added some background stamping using the same paint, white paint and inks. If you do use paint to stamp, make sure to clean your stamps straight away because if it dries you'll have a very hard job removing it.

Next I stamped Dali and the peace symbol. Because I don't have a decent red ink pad for stamping I had to use the Distress Ink one. These are really not suitable for stamping, especially on acrylic paint. That's why it looks so patchy. I later rectified this by going over the images with a Copic Marker. This is also not a good idea as Copics don't like being used over acrylic.
I also stamped Dali on a piece of card stock and coloured him with Copics and cut him out.

Here you can see it all put together.

I used the following stamps:

I also used:
Acrylic paint
Copic Markers
Versafine Clair ink

Capture each moment

 Hello everyone,

Welcome to my blog where today I am sharing a tag for AALL & Create.

Here's how:

First I cut a piece of paper to size in a tag shape. I then dunked it into Distress Oxide inks and water, drying between layers. I used Twisted Citron and Mustard Seed. I then did a stencil pring with this stencil and Distress Oxide ink Crushed Olive. It didn't stand out though, so I put the stencil back and sponged some white paint through it, making it stand out more.

Next, I stamped the background randomly. I used Distress Oxide ink and Versafine Clair.

I then stamped the Daffodill, again with Distress Oxide ink. I wanted to see what it looked like without the black lines.

All done, coloured with watercolour  markers and coloured pencils.

The sentiment..

And here is it all put together. I also added some black paint along some of the edges, some pencil lines and white paint splatters.

I have used the following AALL & Create materials:

Stencil #49 - Rota Vitea by Olga Heldwein

Stamps:
#531 - Textured florals by Tracy Evans
#563 - Follow your own path by Tracy Evans
#623 - Elegant Spring florals by Tracy Evans
#533 - Bring on the sentiments by Tracy Evans

 Hello everyone,

For today's Vera Lane Studio project I have made a polaroid. They are fun and small enough to not be intimidating. I used "Bright day" for this.

I printed, coloured and cut her out. I made the polaroid with a piece of gelliprinted paper from my stash and added some stamping. I then placed her and the sentiment on the card.

Happy Mother's day

  Hello everyone,

For the second inspiration piece for Country View Challenges "Mother's Day" challenge I have made a card.

Here's how:

I cut out some flowers, leaves and a background from this paperback by Stamperia.

I cut into the flowers, bending the petals here and there.

I then layered them using some dimensional tape.

With a Stamperia stencil I added some graphite texture paste.

I then sprinkled some Infusions over the top and spritzed with water. I used "Lemoncello".

Next I used a Stamperia background stamp with black Archival ink.

Next I inked the edges of the card and the edged of the flower. I also glued the leaves under the flower.

I glued the flower onto the card and added the sentiment. I went around the sentiment with a soft graphite pencil and a blender. I then glued the card onto a blank card.

I hope to see you again next month for a new challenge !

I printed and coloured him and cut him out. I found this background in my stash. It was made with alcohol inks and a stencil. I used a brayer and toned it down with some white paint. I put down some washi tape and accentuated it with a graphite pencil, stamped the background here and there and I then placed him and the sentiment of the set on it.
