Hello everyone,
For today's AALL & Create DT project I have made a wallhanging with popsicle sticks. It is so much fun!
Here is how I made this:
I attached 5 sticks together by glueing 2 half sticks on the back. I then used a pallette knife and scraped white paint over the front of the sticks, added some stencilling and used a blue paint pen to accentuate the blue 'snowflakes'. Later I toned it down with more white paint.
After toning it down I added some stamping on the background. I used a light blue Archival ink and Versafine Nocturne.
Next I stamped the penguins, ready for colouring. I used Copic Markers for colouring. I then cut them out.
Here they are all coloured up. I also added a piece of washi tape at the bottom for them to stand one.
After I glued everything down I added a sliver of washi tape to the left top corner to give the piece a little more balance.
I have used the following AALL & Create products:
Stencil #114 Art by Janet Klein
Stamps:
#604 Penguin by Tracy Evansaall
#563 Follow your own path by Tracy Evans
#531 Texture Florals by Tracy Evans
Washi tape #23 Vivre by Janet Klein

So wonderful. I popped over from Facebook to find out how you got the white wash look and stamping on the popsicle sticks. And of course I love the penguins!
ReplyDeleteWhat a GREAT idea, Corrie, and if I had this hanging on my wall, how could I be anything but happy?!! I love all the textural elements on this piece, starting with that white paint scraped on. Well done, my friend.
