Perfectly imperfect

Hello everyone,

Last week I was leading the challenge over at France Papillon's blog. It is a challenge where you do a layer a day (ALAD), a spread a week (ASAW). This is a great way of art journaling because it takes up little time every day. If you'd like the see the result of my spread then please hop over to France's blog HERE.

For now I will show you a detail...

I hope you'll enjoy my process ! Thank you for stopping by today !

An AJ page for AALL & Create

Hello everyone,

For today's AALL & Create inspiration I have made an AJ page. It measures 6" x 6" and is made with  acrylic paints and inks. Of course I have also used some of the fabulous AALL & Create products, mostly from the new release but also one stencil that is a little older.

and here's how:

I started off with a piece of white card stock that measured 6' x 6' and brayered white paint on...

Next I repeated the process with light blue paint and used a baby wipe with these two stencils to wipe away the paint. I also added some black, with a pallet knife but also with the same stencil technique and black paint. I did wipe most of it off again as I wanted a grungy finish.
I then added grey ink to the #45 stencil and used it as a stamp over the top.

Next I added red paint with a brayer, very sparingly and stamped parts of this fabulous stamp by Olga with red Archival ink.. oh, and black splatters of course.

I then stamped the part of the stamp with the aeroplane on red painted card and on white card. I put these two together to make the focal image..

Like this.

I then put it all together...

The sentiment is another part of the stamp.

I have used :

Stamp #114 "Red Baron" by Olga Heldwein
Stencil #29 by Autour de Mwa
Stencil #45 by Autour de Mwa

Happy birthday

Hello everyone,

for today's Katzelkraft project I have made a birthday card, we all need birthday cards don't we? So here it is :

I used a gelli print from my stash (that is dwindling rapidly, lol) and I stamped the sentiment on it first. Next I used a stamp positioner and stamped the meerkat on top of if. I also stamped the meerkat on a piece of white card stock and coloured him with Copic markers and coloured pencils. I then cut him out and adhered him over the top. Lastly I doodled around the card panel and adhered it to a white card.

I used the following stamps:

Arty Angel

Hello everyone,

I am totally smitten with the stamp and stencil collection by AALL & Create. The last new release is equally fabulous !
I chose two stamp sets by Louise Nelson to play with today and added in a stencil by Autour de Mwa.

And here's how:

I started off with a tag on which I glued book paper. Next I painted it with two creamy shades of acrylic paints. I then added a light blue/turquoise layer over it and used the stencil and a baby wipe to add some interest.

Next I stamped the background.

I stamped some of the circles on a piece of pattern paper and on the tag so I could glue it on without losing any of the details. Unfortunately I didn't like the result so I had to peel it off again. That's why I covered the bottom of the tag with Dina Wakley washi tape. lol

Colouring the angel with my Copic markers.

Here you can see the washi tape 'island' she's standing on. This was to cover the mess I made by pulling off the piece of paper... I also added some hearts to cover some of the excessive washi tape. In the end I think it turned out nice.. I added some more stamping along the edges and put a ribbon through the hole.

I have used the following sets:

Stamp #78 - Quirky circles by Louise Nelson
Stamp #131 - Arty Angels by Louise Nelson
Stencil #45 - Digital bubbles by Autour the Mwa

I don't mean to brag....

Hello everyone,

For today's Katzelkraft post I have made an art journal page. I think it turned out really fun!

I started with a piece of paper on which I dabbed embossing ink through a stencil and then heat embossed it with white powder. Next I used Distress Oxide to add colour. The embossing resists the ink and stays white.
Next I stamped the Macarons and the little figure from the Les Pabos set and coloured them with Copics, I cut them out and arranged them on the page on top of some washi tape. I then spend ages to find a suitable quote. In the end I decided on this Tim Holtz snarky sticker.

I used the following stamps:

Wicked

Hello everyone,

For today's Vera Lane Studio post I have made two projects: an ATC and a postcard. They are both Halloween themed because it is almost that time of year !

For this ATC I used some paper I got left from last year. I coloured lil' Boo and glued him on, on top of the sentiment. I then went around the card with white paint.
You'll find lil' Boo HERE.

The background for this postcard is a gelli print I had lying around. I printed the image, coloured her and cut her out. I adhered her onto the postcard and added a sentiment which I got from Ray Bradbury's book 'Something wicked this way comes'. A little washi tape finished it off.

You'll find this lovely girl HERE.

Grow kindness and a GIVEAWAY !!!! YAY !

Hello everyone,

for today's AALL & Create project I have made a little canvas. It measures 20 x 20 cm or 8 x 8 inches approx.

And here's how:

I planned on using these AALL & Create products but later added another stencil !

After painting the canvas with my fingers and rubbing away some of the paint through a stencil (#45) with a baby wipe, I added some white paint with a brayer and some modelling paste through the other stencil (#39).

Next I used part of the stamp #109 for stamping the background here and there.

I painted another piece of paper with yellow and stamped the flower on it, next I painted over it with gel medium because I wanted to add some colour with Big Brush Markers. You can move the colour over gel medium before it dries.. after that it is permanent.

These are the colours that I am using...

And this is the result, I also added some white pen and white paint splatters.

..and of course I put some splatters on the canvas too..

I have used :

Stamp : #109 blossomed numbers by Tracy Evans
Stencil #39 by Autour de Mwa
Stencil #45 by Autour de Mwa

For more information about the products and a list of international stockists please visit:

Also today I have a give away. Abs from AALL & Create kindly let me give away one of the big stamp sets (A4) ! and here it is :

I am going to give this stamp set away ! But.... there is something you will have to do !
First of all you have to leave a comment on my FB page under the post that shows this photo ! Next you will have to mention a friend who also loves AALL & Create products but you will have to fight over the stamp as I have only one to give away ! On the upside; you could always divide it in two ! lol Anyway, good luck everyone ! I will draw a winner on Wednesday 31st of October !

Thank you for stopping by today !

Different

Hello everyone,

Welcome to today's blogpost for Katzelkraft. I have revisited an old stamp set today because I still  love these images. I have used it to make a mini art journal spread.

I started out with collaging some tissue paper on the pages with gel medium. When this was dry I painted over everything with white gesso to knock it back a little. I then took my brayer and rolled some acrylic paints over it. I made sure I used colours that were transparent. I used a lime green and a turquoise.
Next I stamped the background, only a little, because it was busy enough and then I stamped the sentiment on some blank tissue paper. This is a great way to get a good impression. When you glue it down using gel medium it almost disappears into the background.
THe deer-lady was stamped on book paper and adhered with gel medium too.

I used two stamp sets today :
KTZ141 - Les Anthropomorphes Zebra (only for the sentiment)
KTZ142 - Les Anthropomorphes Rabbit

Happy little accidents...

Hello everyone,

Happy Thursday to you ! For today's Vera Lane Studio DT post I have made two postcards.

For this card I resized, printed, coloured Bob and his easel and then cut them out. The background is a print from the gelli plate made with Copic Refills. I just added some washitape.

You'll find Bob here:

This second card was made in exactly the same way. I found the sentiment online but it originally said 'black' cats... lol, as this one is grey I just deleted the word black.

This adorable kitty, called Lil' Boo, with its pumpkin is HERE.
