Wonderland

Hello everyone,

For my second post for UmWow Studio Creative Team, I have made a postcard.

This was so much fun to make !
I used a gelli printed background and added just one stamp at the bottom as 'ground' to put my scene one. I then added black lines and stitching around the edges of the card and wrapped some twine around it.
Next I started on the chip boards. The stars were heat embossed with a light yellow embossing powder by Lindy's Stampgang. The stem of the flower was coloured with Copic Markers. The flower head was white embossed and then coloured over the top, partly with Copics partly with Faber Castell Big Brush Markers. The whole think was then clear embossed.
The little rabbits were painted with gesso and then coloured with coloured pencils. Aren't they cute....
I arranged everything on the card until I was happy and then glued everything down.
Lastly I stamped the word 'Wonderland' on a piece of paper and stapled it to the card.
That was it !

I used the following chipboards:

All stamps I used are by VivaLasVegaStamps!

Dipping your toes

Hello everyone,

and happy Wednesday. I am here to show you some more inspiration for our two-weekly Challenge over at the Stampotique Designers' Challenge Blog. This time the theme is 'beach/sea'. Why not play along and you might win a voucher to the store HERE. Just make sure to read all the rules on the blog.

Here is my art journal page  :

I have used two stamps from the new release for this:

I created this with a piece of Designer paper on the left to depict the beach and paint and sand paste to create the sea and foamy waves...
I stamped the 'Spiral Daydream' on the paper on the left to create a little more interest. I used acrylic paint in turquoise and white to create the ocean. I added some white sand paste to make it look like foaming waves... I hope I succeeded... lol
Friedrich was stamped on white card stock, coloured with Copic Markers and adhered to the page. I added some shading under him, also with a Copic Marker. The sentiment was made by me and typed on an old typewriter, cut into strips and adhered to the page. I went around them with a black fine tipped pen.

Thank you for stopping by today ! I hope you'll play along with us...

De Craftorij Zomer Challenge - CZC2016 Day 51 - 55

Hello everyone,

Another five days gone, another five cards done ! Here they are :

Day 51 - Speech bubble.

On a gelli print I white embossed the small blablabla. I then stamped the big Blah blah on text paper, cut it out and adhered to the card. Bob was stamped separately too, coloured, cut out and adhered. I added a little shading under him.

Day 42 - Use a post it note.
I stuck two post its to a card and then took the brayer and some paint and rolled over it. I added some finger painting and added some shading around the post its. Next I white embossed the circles (Tim Holtz).
The girl is by PaperArtsy as it the sentiment. Both were stamped separately and the girl was coloured with Copic Markers, cut out and adhered to the card. The sentiment was cut into strips and adhered too. I went around that with a black pen.

Day 53 - Steampunk
This background was lying around on my desk. It was a big tag and the crackle was achieved with DecoArt Media Crackle paste which was then made old with Antiquing cream also by Deco Art. I added some copper coloured embossing, using a Tim Holtz Stamp. I added a strip of pattern paper on the left side of the card and a sentiment that came from the same paper pack. The bird is by Katzelkraft and he was stamped in tissue paper and adhered to the card.

Day 54 - Homemade stencil or mask.
I have a polkadot stencil that I made ages ago and still use. I did today too ! The cat was lying on my desk. (I took some stamped imaged on holiday and coloured them. This was the last one of those.) He was adhered to the card. I added a balloon from the Crazy things set that goes with the cats and lastly I added the sentiment which is by VivaLasVegaStamps! and drew some lines around the edge.

Day 55 - Hero(in)

This was a really easy one. Marilyn is a photo stamp and after stamping I cut it to size. With a craft knife I cut some of the hearts of the gelliprint loose and stuck the photo behind them. The sentiment completed this card.

The next post will be day 56 - 61 and that will conclude the postcard a day challenge. It has gone really quickly !

Thank you for stopping by today !

Stampotique new release blog hop

Hello everyone,

and welcome to our blog hop to celebrate the new release.

You should have arrived here from Jo Capper-Sandon  and if you didn't, you may want to start the blog hop from the beginning which is the SDC Blog.  The complete blog list is at the bottom of this post.

Or course you can find all the new stamps on the Stampotique Website HERE.

And now without further ado here are my new release projects:

This is a postcard made with a gelli print. I have been totally addicted to these since I did a workshop with the lovely Birgit Koopsen in the Craftorij in the Netherlands (who sell Stampotique stamps too) and have made stacks of them....
Anyway I used the new 'Head Clouds' stamp (6207) by Daniel Torrente and 'Marsha' (6209) also by Daniel. The sentiment was made up by me and typed on an old typewriter.  Marsha was coloured with Copic Markers, the head clouds lightly with coloured pencils.

This card was made by using Distress Inks (Picked Raspberry and Weathered Wood) and a stencil and water to create the flowers on the background. I then stamped it with the 'Texture Cube' (11025) by Kate Crane, the bubble wrap stamp was embossed with white embossing powder. Next I added some book text and washi tape.
The animals are by Magda Polakow and they are also on a cube 'Animal Cube' (5850). The were coloured with Copic Markers, cut out and adhered on top of each other. The sentiment is a Chit Chat sticker by Tim Holtz.

The last card is clean and simple. I used a piece of white card stock and stamped 'Kassa's Bloom' (14014) by Karen Haselden on it. I coloured it with Copic Markers. I wanted to show that you don't need much to make a beautiful card. I then stamped the sentiment '3 Greetings' (6216) by Daniel Torrente and matted the panel on some Designer Paper. The whole thing was then added to a white card.

Your next stop will be Jackie Payne

We will be giving away a $30 gift certificate to the online store and a grab bag of stamps to two random winners who have visted the blogs. You won't know which ones they are so stop by and visit them all.  We will pick the winners on our first challenge in August

Have fun hopping!

De Craftorij Zomer CHallenge - CZC 2016 - day 46 - 50

Hello everyone,

Another 5 cards done ! Yay... Here they are:

Day 46 - cartoon figure
I found this in a magazine from a gallery. It is a picture of a proper painting. I thought it was perfect for this card. I used some Kraft card stock for the base and clear embossed the flags. I coloured the bottom around the image with brown markers. The sentiment I got of the internet.

Day 47 - Use a photo...
I found this photo in an antiques market in Brighton in England. I love rummaging through boxes of photos. Although it is also a little sad that family photos end up there...
I added her on top of some cambric and a doily on a gelli print. The chipboard was heat embossed with copper embossing powder. I added the flags and stamped the stars on them..

Day 48 - big, bigger, biggest
Again a gelli print. I stamped the Stampotique guys on book text and gave them a little colour with pencils. I added them to the card on top of some washi tape.

Day 49 - emotion
I added the white embossed stamp to the gelli printed card as a base for the stamp to sit on. She was stamped on photo paper with StaZon ink. I cut her out, leaving a small white border around her. She was placed on a 'nest' of black thread and stapled to the card. The sentiment came from the internet and was typed, cut apart and glued on the card. I went around the strips with a black pen.

Day 50 - washi tape
I covered a card in washi tape. and stamped the stars and circles on it. The stars were white embossed. The black circles were stamped with StaZon. The girl was stamped separately on white card stock, coloured with Copics and cut out. I adhered her to the card.

Reality

Hello everyone,

and welcome to my blog where today I am sharing an art journal page for VivaLasVegaStamps!
I have made a tutorial and invite you to get a drink, sit down and have a look...

As always I'll show you the finished product first:

And here's how:

I started off with a piece of white drawing paper.

I tool out some paints and a brayer to give it some colour. I made sure to leave some white areas.

I took out my mini round gelli plate to add some more detail. I used purple and white paint in this case.

Make sure you don't use too much paint. Better too little than too much.

I used this piece of cardboard to make a pattern on the plate before printing.

This is how that looks.

I did this three times. I thought that looked good !

Next I got my favourite background stamps out and started stamping with inks in similar colours to the paint I used. I did add a grey for more variation.

That is the background done ! Love it !!!

Next I stamped my main image and the sentiment I was going to use on a piece of white card stock.

I also stamped the top half of him on the page. This way I can cut off the 'hair' from the separate stamped image and when I adhere it over the top the 'hair' is there again.

I got out some UmWow studio Star Confetti and heat-embossed them with a light purple embossing powder.

They go all shiny, lovely...

Next it was time to colour my man. I used Copic Markers... my favourite way of colouring as it is quick and easy..

And here he is in all his glory !

Here is the finished product again. Everything adhered. As a finishing touch I added some black pen around the sentiment.
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial.

I have used the following stamps:

Je suis le Chat...

Hello everyone,

For my DT post for Katzelkraft today I have made three ATC's using different stamp sets.

I started off with a piece of white card stock. I used a brayer and acrylic paint (light blue, green, white and purple) to colour it. I also used  a piece of cardboard and brayered some paint on it. I then used it as a mark making tool and added the stripes with it..

Next I used a dot stamp to add some more interest to the background. I used ink colours that were similar to the paint.

Next I stamped the cats. The solid black ones were stamped straight onto the ATC with Archival ink. The cat from the first ATC was stamped separately as it has script around it and I didn't want that on this ATC.

Lastly I stamped the sentiment on a piece of white card stock, cut it in pieces and adhered it to the ATC's. It is by R. Kipling and it translates to: I am the cat that walks by myself, and all places are alike to me.

I used the following stamp sets:

A summer kinda girl

Hello everyone,

and welcome to a new challenge over at the Stampotique Designers' Challenge blog. The theme this week is Beach/sea. Why not play along with us and you might win a voucher to the store HERE.
Just make sure to read the rules first !!!
Here is my project :

This lovely girl is one of my favourite Stamptoque Stamps. She is called 'Beach Beauty'; isn't she fabulous... She was placed onto a gelli printed postcard after I stamped the background a little with "fax to Wolfgang" in white. I also splattered it with white ink. She was then stamped on the card and on some Designer paper with a little checked pattern. I coloured her lightly with Copic Markers, cut her out and adhered her onto the stamped image on the card. Lastly I added the sentiment and drew some lines around that and the edges of the card.

As mentioned I used the following stamps:

A girl, a moth and a skull...

Hello everyone,

For my DT post for Visible Image today I have made a set of three cards with the new release stamps. They are fabulous and they stamp like a dream....

Here they are:

All three of these cards were created on a gelli printed background. I love my gelli plates; I can play for hours... lol
Anyway I added some stamping to the background and stamped the big skull separately on a piece of card stock that I coloured with Disstress Ink. I used Twisted Citron. I then used some pencils to add a little shading and a white paint pen to whiten his teeth. I also drew a couple of lines around the card.

I used the following stamps:

I think this is my favourite set of the new release. This image of the girl jumping is so fabulous I think. Anyway, again I added some background stamping and a single black line around the edge. The girl was stamped directly on the card and clear embossed. This makes the image a little blacker. I them stamped the sentiment, cut it out and adhered it to the card.

I used the following stamps:

For the last card the method was pretty much the same again; did a little background stamping. I stamped the moth and the sentiment directly on the card. I then stamped the moth again and coloured him, cut him out, added holographic embossing powder and heat set it. Look at all that sparkle... I then adhered him to the stamped image on the card.

I used the following stamps:

Here is a close up of the glittery wings...

All the cards were adhered to a white card blank and that was that !!!

De Craftorij Zomer Challenge - CZC2016 Day 41 - 45

Hello everyone,

Another 5 cards done in the Challenge, here goes:

Day 41 - insects
I thought instead of using just insects, I'd use this lovely Stampotique "Spidergirl" who has a teeny weeny spider... It is a gelli printed base, what else.... lol and some stamping and colouring with Copics. Her dress is paper pieced.

Day 42 - Use alumiumfoil

Again a gelli print... a piece of aluminium foil coloured with green alcohol ink and adhered to the edge of the card. I splattered some white paint and stamped the star (VersaMark and white embossing powder)  on pattern paper, cut it out, adhered it to book text and cut it out again. I have a little white border like this. The sentiment was stamped with Versamark and white embossed.

Day 43 - the Movies
Another gelli print, yes I know, boring... but they have been a godsend as I've had very little time recently with lots of other stuff going on... Marilyn is a stencil which I stencilled with black paint and a blending tool. The sentiment is by her and was stamped on book text, cut out and adhered. Lastly I drew som lines around the edges of the card and stuck some washi tape in the right top corner.

Day 44 - one word
I chose Hello, because I like the stamp and the letters. I stamped it on yet another gelli print and added some white. I then stamped the background lightly and used inks in similar colours to the background. The animals & lanterns (by cats on apple trees) were stamped directly onto the card with a stamping positioner and again on white paper with different coloured inks. I then added some shading with pencils and glued them on.

Day 45 - Favourite place
I had this fab stamp by Trish Latimer lying around for a few days and wanted to use it... I did get rid of the text in her dress and replaced it with the white flowers. I used a bigger flower from the same set in the background with blue and green ink. She was coloured with Copic Markers, cut out and adhered to the card. The sentiment says it all I think...

Thank you so much for stopping by !

Be bold, Be brave.

Hello everyone,

and welcome to my blog. Today I am sharing the second inspiration piece for the current challenge on Country View Challenges. The theme was chosen by Hazel and she wanted us to use circles. Now circles are one of my favourite things to use in my projects so no problem ....
I have a little tutorial as well to show you how I made this tag. To start, here is the finished product :

And here is how I made it:

I started with a white tag which I cut out of card stock.

Next I used a pallet knife to put some model paste onto the tag.

I used some bottle caps to create some circles into the wet model paste. I dipped the caps in water to prevent them sticking to the model paste. I then dried it with a heat tool.

First coat of paint, a light green.

After drying I mixed some of this turquoise paint with a glazing liquid. This makes the paint stay wet longer. I applied it over the top with a baby wipe.

This is what it looked like. I let it dry for a little while and then.....

....used a baby wipe to remove some of the colour. Some of it stays behind, especially in the grooves of the circles. Looking cool !

Next some background stamping. I used a PaperArtsy Eclectica Set and a turquoise Archival ink for the script. I also used a little stamp from the same set which has numbers and stamped that with black Archival ink.

Next I stamped one of the Crazy Birds by Tim Holtz; once on the tag and once on a piece of white card stock. I then coloured him with Copic Markers.

He was then cut out, disregarding his legs and little 'curls' on his head. They are already on the tag and it would be almost impossible to cute them out too.

This is what it looks like with him on the tag. You can't even see that I cut off his legs and 'hair'...

Next I coloured a piece of ribbon with a Dylusions spray in a colour matching the tag.

And this is what it looks like after adding the final touches, like a sentiment (a stamp set from PaperArtsy - Eclectica), some doodling along the edge and some shading under the bird.

Thank you so much for stopping by today !
