This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hello everyone,

Happy Thursday ! For today's Vera Lane Studio projects I have made a postcard and an ATC. I am enjoying making ATC's again. Funny, how we like doing different things at different times.

This little beauty is from the set "Smile" that was released this week. I printed, coloured her and cut her out. I found this gelli printed piece of paper in my stash and decided to use it. I added some washi tape by Janet and the sentiment that came with the set.

You'll find here HERE

I really love this chameleon, he is so cute. I printed and coloured him and then cut him out. I lengthened his branch so it reached the bottom of the card. I added the sentiment and that was that.
The background was made with Distress Oxide Inks Salvaged Patina and Crackling Campfire. So very good together, I think.

You'll find this adorable chameleon and his friend HERE

Let your hair down

 Hello everyone,

I have an art journal page for you today. I made it with Janet's Rapunzel stamp set for AALL & Create. There is also a video if you's like to see how I made it. You'll find the video HERE

It looks a little buckled because I used the wrong paper for this technique. I should have used Mixed Media paper and I used something like a thick card stock which was obviously not ideal for lots of wet ink and water. Oh well, these things happen.

Here's how:

First I watercolored Rapunzel and cut her out.

I coloured the background with Distress Oxide inks and water and printed this stencil on it. I then toned it down with white paint.

Adding a little stamping.

And here she is in all her glory although a little crumpled..

I have used :
Stamps:
#380 - Rapunzel by Janet Klein
#489 - Wisecracks by Autour de Mwa
Stencil
#89 - Dahlias by Autour de Mwa
Washi
#18 - Poets by Janet Klein

This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hello everyone,

and happy Thursday! Today I have made a postcard and an ATC for Vera Lane Studio. I have used the new 'no kidding' set and the 'Seagulls' set that came out last week. I couldn't resist using one of them again and pair it with a snarky saying.

I made the background with Distress Oxide inks. I used Twisted Citron, Salvaged Patina and Kitsch Flamingo. I smooshed the pads on my craft sheet and then dunked the card into it. I then printed the images and coloured them and cut them out. I also added some stamping and washitape, all by AALL & Create, designed by Janet.

You'll find this set HERE

I couldn't resist this, lol. I made this background a few weeks ago and didn't like it with the image I was going to use, so I put it away. Today I took it out again and placed the coloured and cut out seagull on it. It has some stamping and washi by AALL & Create, designed by Janet. The saying is a snarky sticker by Tim Holtz.

You'll find the seagull set HERE

Starbound

  Hi everyone,

For today's VivaLasVegaStamps! post I have made and art journal spread in my small journal.

Here's how I made this:

I started with stamping the focal image with Archival ink and colouring it with watercolour markers.

I used Amsterdam Acrylics and a small gelli plate to add colour to my pages. I just roll the paint on the plate and then press it onto the pages. I used a bright yellow, a green and an orange.

I then took a brayer and some white acrylic paint and toned it down again. I thought the orange was to much.

I then added random stamping and some black paint around some of the edges. I used a paletknife to scrape the paint along the edge.

Next, I used a star stencil and white paint to add more interest and I stamped part of the main image onto the left page. I concentrated on the small text at the top and the bottom because I can't cute this out.

Next, I added a little more stamping, some black lines, I glued down the main image and added a sentiment. I also used part of another stamp; the word alien to add over the alien's body.

I used the following stamps:

Rest of the materials:
Amsterdam Acrylics
Gelli Arts Gelli Plate
Archival inks
Star stencil
Ecoline Brush Markers

Two insect ATC's

 Hello everyone,

For this week's AALL & Create project I have made a simple project of 2 ATC's. I am still in the middle of reorganising my craft room and it is taking a little longer than anticipated. Anyway here they are:

Here's how I made them:

On two pieces of 2,5 x 3,5" watercolour paper I stamped the two bugs. I used VersaFine Clair ink as I wanted to use water based products to colour.

First I coloured the bugs using watercolour markers.

Next I smooshed Distress Oxide Ink on my craft sheet and used a water brush to colour around the bugs. I used Twisted Citron, Cracked Pistachio and Salvaged Patina.

When everything had dried I added some texture paste through a stencil. I had to touch it up with white paint as the texture paste soaks up the colour from underneath.

Next, I added some pieces of washitape and toned them down again with white paint.

Lastly I mounted them on some card stock to make them sturdier.

I have used the following products:

Stamp #550 - Stink Bug by Bipasha Bk
Stamp #551 - Weaver Spider by Bipasha Bk

Stencil: #124 - Lotza Diamondz by Autour de Mwa

Washi tape: #21 - Beachrock by Janet Klein

This week at Vera Lane Studio

Hello everyone,

Happy Thursday ! For today's project I have made a mini journal page with the newly released "Gatsby" and and ATC with one of the "Moose Hunt" images.

Isn't she adorable? She comes with a dance partner and a bottle of champagne but I decided to add a table because of the sentiment. I printed the images, coloured them with my Copic Markers and cut them out. The background came from my stash and was made with a gelli plate and an AALL & Create stencil. I added some white paint with a brayer to tone it down and a piece of washi tape, also by AALL & Create. I then placed the images and the sentiment onto the page.

The 'Gatsby' is available HERE

This moose is continuing to crack me up. I also think the sentiment goes so well with the look on his face. I printed him, coloured him with Copics and cut him out. I placed him on a piece of design paper and added some washi tape (AALL & Create) and some pencil lines.

You'll find Moose Hunt HERE

Say yes to new adventures

 Hello everyone,

For today's AALL & Create GDT post I have a made a card. It is a very simple,  straightforward card but I really like how it came out.

Here's how:

First I stamped this stamp with VersaMark ink and heat embossed it with white powder.

Here you can see the embossing a little clearer.

Next, I smooshed these two Distress Oxide Inks on my craft sheet, spritzed with water and dunked the card in it. I then dried it and wiped it with a piece of kitchen roll to remove the ink from the embossing powder.

I stamped the focal image, the crow and the sentiment I wanted to use.

I then coloured him lightly with watercolour markers.

I cut him out, adhered him to the card and added a few pieces of washi tape and the sentiment I went around the words strips with a black pen.

I matted the card on a piece of black card stock to frame it and then glued the whole thing onto a white card.

I have used the following materials:
Stamps:
#398 - Celestial Navigation by Olga Heldwein
#422 - Fly Free by Janet Klein
#445 - Dashing Crow by Olga Heldwein
Washi:
#16 - Burlap Black by Janet Klein

This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hello everyone,

and Happy Thursday ! For today's Vera Lane Studio project I have made two postcards.

These two are having a little gossip !
The Seagull set came out this week and there are a few more birds in the set. I printed, coloured and cut them out. I found this mop up page in my stash and I simply added a strip of washi tape to the bottom and a little sliver to the top. I added the birds and a snarky sentiment and that was that!

You'll find the seagulls HERE.

This cute Chameleon was coloured with Copics and cut out. I gave him a branch to sit on and added everything to this card that was, again, from my stash. I actually almost threw it away as I considered it failed. I am pleased I didn't because it fits him perfectly. I just added some white splatters, a sentiment from the set, gave him/her flowers in his/her hair and drew some black lines around the edges.

You'll find this cute chameleon and his little brother HERE

Mark Maker

  Hi Everyone,

I am back on the team ! After 6 months without, I really missed the quirky, fun images of VivaLasVegaStamps! so I am really happy that I am part of it again. For my first project I have made a postcard. Postcards are great because their size is not too intimidating and yet there is plenty of room to enjoy yourself.

I made the background with an UmWow Studio (Hexagon) stencil, acrylic paint and a gelli plate. I added stamping and heat embossing. The main image was coloured with watercolour markers.

I have used the following stamps:

Rest materials:
Amsterdam Acrylics
Gelli Arts Gelli plate 6 x 6
Versafine and Archival inks
Watercolour markers
White embossingpowder

Behaving badly

Hello everyone,

For today's AALL & Create project I have made a tag with some older stamps and stencil. It was fun to make thinking these doggies are up to no good !

Here is how I made it:

I sprayed this tag (which I cut myself) with one Lindy's Stamp Gang spray and two Distress Oxide Sprays. I sprinkled some water on it, dried it and then rubbed this stencil with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink. I sprayed it with water and used it to print on the tag.

Next I added some stamping. I used grey, black and brown inks.

I then stamped the dogs and the windows. By masking off certain parts of the windows before stamping the dogs, it looks like they around looking out.

I used watercolour markers to colour the images and when I had finished and everything was dry I cut them out.

Next I adhered them to the tag. I also added some black acrylic paint along some of the edges of the tag.

I added some washi tape here and there.

Lastly I added a clippings sticker and a piece of ribbon. I also went around the words with a black pen.

I have used the following materials:

Stencil #59 - Weathered Tiles by Autour de Mwa
Washi tape #16 - Burlap Black by Janet Klein

Stamps:
#400 - Numerator by Tracy Evans
#342 - Windows by Janet Klein
#373 - Rescue Puppies by Janet Klein
#489 - Wisecracks by Autour de Mwa
