This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hello everyone,

Happy Thursday, today I have made 2 postcards with the new 'Flowergirls Collage Sheet' for Vera Lane Studio. One is happy and one is sad...

This was a mop up background from another project. I used this piece of card to put a stencil on after spraying ink through it. I added some white paint with a brayer and then stamped it here and there (#338 - Background Noise by AALL & Create).
The clouds are stamped (#301 - Flowers & Sunshine, AALL & Create) on dictionary paper. I also tore the word cloud from the same dictionary and stuck it at the bottom for her to stand on. The sentiment is a think Bob Ross used to say and I thought it was funny !

This one isn't so happy, she is dreaming of her old life before this horrible time descended on her and she is a bit like me.. The sentiment is cut out of a book, the background was made with a large background stamp that I heat embossed with white powder and then dunked it into Distress Oxide inks.

You'll find the Flowergirls Collage Sheet HERE.

Thank you for stopping by today!

Toxic Pocket Letter

 Hello everyone,

For today's AALL & Create project I have made a Mixed Media pocket letter. Also this time, there is a process video. So if you want to see how I made this look further in this blogpost for the link to my YoutTube channel. I also have some step-by-step photos but not many; I got carried away while I was filming...

Here is how I made it:

First I stamped all the images I wanted on gel prints from my stash and on designer paper. The bottles on the designer paper are just for the labels. I added some shading on all the pieces and then cut them out.

This is what it looked like.

Next I started on the base for the ATC's for the pocket letter. I cut the paper to 7,5" wide by 10,5" long which will give me 9 atc's.

I used these stamps to decorate the background. It had to be all over as I wanted some stamping on all ATC's. When I finished stamping I splattered some white paint on it and then cut the piece into 9 ATC's.

Next I used all my images to complete the ATC's. I also used some clippings stickers by Tim Holtz from his Halloween series.

I really like how it came out.

This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hello everyone,

Happy Thursday and welcome to my blog where today I have made a postcard with an older set and a tag with the this week release 'Belle Âme'. For the tag I have put my camera on and the video is available on my YouTube channel if you'd like to see how I made it. So, here goes:

I used a gelli printed background from my stash and stamped the circles (#404 - Visual Ingredients by Janet for AALL & Create) with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with white powder. I added some stamping too using another of Janet's sets #338 - Background Noise. The image is made out of two sets of digis that are a little older ie. Rescue Puppies and Cats and Crocks.
You'll find the Puppies HERE and the Cats and Crocks HERE.

This tag was made with the newly released 'Belle Âme' and here is the VIDEO

Peek-a-boo book

Hello everyone,

Today I am sharing a mini accordion book I made for AALL & Create. I went back to using a stencil as I used to do when I first began crafting ie. just spraying ink through it. I used Distress Oxides in this case. The result is great for such a quick way of filling a piece of paper with colour!

And here's how:

I used this stencil to spray through and add some colour to my paper. I used Distress Oxide Sprays in Squeezed Lemonade, Fossilized Amber, Dried Marigold and Spiced Marmalade. For one of the covers I used the stencil full of ink and just printed it. (The left piece of paper in the bottom of the picture).

Next I stamped the backgrounds, using the same Distress Oxides in Spiced Marmalade, Carved Pumpkin and Abandoned Coral.

Next I stamped some more but now with grey and black ink. I used Versafine Clair. Later I added more of the circles on the right with the Abandoned Coral ink..

I wanted to use these chickens so I stamped them out and also the sentiments that I wanted to use. I planned to call the book peek-a-boo book because of the chicken looking through his legs. He was destined to go on the cover..

I added some doodling and washi tape and coloured the chickens. Ready to put it all together.

And here it is...

I glued the ribbon between the accordion and the covers.

I have used the following AALL & Create products:

Stencil:
#115 - Spiral Checked by Bipasha Bk

Washi:
#4 - Encrypt by Autour de Mwa

Stamps:
#366 - Roundly by Autour de Mwa
#407 - Chicken Dance by Janet Klein
#400 - Numerator by Tracy Evans
#338 - Background Noise by Janet Klein
#443 - Scripted Circles by Bipasha Bk

This week at Vera Lane Studio

Hello everyone,

Happy Thursday ! For this week's Vera Lane Studio I have made a postcard and a card.

This postcard was made with a background that I made with Janet's stencil #117 Petals and Pods and Copic Refill ink on the gelli plate. I printed and coloured the perfume bottles and cut them out. I added some washitape and set the bottles on it; the blue one is on dimensional tape. I cut around the words of the sentiment and glued that one the card too. Lastly I doodles the line around the edges.
You'll find the 'Perfume Bottles' HERE.

Happy Valentine's day ! lol
This card is a bit of fun. I used an older image called 'Cindy Crawford'. I printed, coloured and cut her out. I made this background by using Janet's 'Tre Fiori" stencil, #116 by AALL & Create, Pan Pastels and a gelli plate. This is the second print I made.
I glued Cindy on and then added some hearts with a stamp set by Janet for AALL & Create, #249 Dog Toys. I added some Tim Holtz word stickers and that was that.
Cindy is still available on request.

Thank you so much for stopping by today !

Fly again

 Hello everyone,

For today's AALL & Create Guest DT project I have made a card with very few supplies to show that you don't need the whole collection and the kitchen sink to make a card.

and here's how:

I made this background with a gelli plate, this stencil and alcohol inks. If you don't have alcohol inks you can use Distress  Oxide inks and use the stencil to print on the paper by rubbing the ink pads over the stencil, spritzing with water and pressing onto the paper.

Next I used the stamp in the left bottom corner to stamp randomly over the card. I used Distress Oxide inks for this.

Next I stamped the butterfly from the same set and stamped it on the card and on a separate piece of card stock.

I coloured the butterfly with Distress Oxide inks and cut it out. I will glue this one over the stamped one on the card.

Lastly I added some text stickers by Tim Holtz to spell 'you will fly again'. I matted the card on some blue paper and then adhered it to my card.

I have used only 1 stencil and 1 stamp set for this card:

#39 - Lotza Dotz by Autour de Mwa
#392 - Memento More by Olga Heldwein

This week at Vera Lane Studio

 Hello everyone,

Happy Thursday! For today's Vera Lane Studio projects I have made a card and a postcard.

This square card was made with the newly released set '99% Angel'. I printed and coloured her and then cut her out. They background is was made with a gelli plate, alcohol ink and a stencil (Digital Bubbles by AALL & Create). I also did a little background stamping with Janet's set #404 called Visual Ingredients. A couple of pieces of washi tape finished it off.
You'll find 99% Angel HERE

This postcard was made with the 'Favorite Breeds' set from January. I printed this Aussie and coloured him with Copics, then cut him out. I made the background by dunking a piece of white card into Distress Oxide ink (Speckled Egg) and Distress Ink (Pumice Stone), then added some stamping with Janet's stamp set #338 Background Noise by AALL & Create. The sentiment comes from another of Janet's stamp set called 'Look Cute' - #300 also by AALL & Create. The bottom of the card has a strip of washi tape and a strip of pattern paper.

You'll find this cute doggie HERE

She began to talk..

Hello everyone,

For today's AALL & Create Guest DT post I have made a journal spread.

Here's how:

I started with some pieces of washi tape by Tracy and then painted clear gesso all over the pages to get the surface to behave the same all over the pages.

Next, I rubbed the ink pads directly onto the paper. I then took a damp brush and spread the ink over the pages. I then wiped it carefully with a piece of kitchen paper.

This is how that looked. I then used a brayer and rolled over some white acrylic paint. I didn't take a picture of that but you can see the result in the next photo.

The next thing was texture paste and this stencil. The texture paste was white but after drying it took on the colour of the ink underneath.

Next I added some pigment powders and sprayed some water to make it run. I just wanted to accentuate the texture.

The next step was stamping the background.

I then stamped the little girl and the two birds from this set and coloured them and cut them out.

and here is is all put together. I added some black paint around the stamped areas and a doodle line here and there. The sentiment is made up from phrases I cut out of an old book.

I have used the following AALL & Create materials:

Washi tape:
#8 - Fledgling by Tracy Evans
#9 - Cut, Tear, Layer by Tracy Evans

Stencil:
#110 - Digits checked by Bipasha Bk

Stamps:
#427 - Wing it by Janet Klein
#338 - Background Noise by Janet Klein
#434 - Newsprint Numbers by Olga Heldwein
#350 - Splattered Numbers by Tracy Evans
