Happy birthday

Hello everyone,

and happy Stampotique day to you ! Another Wednesday, another Challenge and this week the talented Janet is our hostess and she wants us to make a card for a child. This is what she said :

"So often we create to amuse ourselves or other adults. Children love stamping and enjoy to see what is created especially for them. For this week’s Stampotique Designers Challenge I am challenging you to create a card that will have appeal for a child, be it a young one or teen.".

Now I don't have any children or nephews and nieces so for me this was a real toughie ! I hope a child would like it:

I tried the clean and simple look today and started with stamping Agatha on the card with Archival Jet Black ink. I then used a  pen to draw the circles around her. I used a circle die to help me.
I coloured the image with Polychromos coloured pencil. Lastly I stamped the Happy Birthday under the circle, glued the panel on a pink mat and adhered it to the card.

Here is a detail photo...

I used only two stamps:

Why not play along with us this week. You could win one of two $30 gift cards to spend in the Online shop. Just remember only one entry per person per challenge and no digi's.

Thank you so much for stopping by today !

She is...

Hello everyone,

I had a bit of crafty time today and had fun making this art journal using Dina's Silhouette women stamps, some Prima and Tim Holtz ones too. There were also a few stencils involved ...

This page was started by painting gesso over it and scraping some model paste through a Prima stencil (Bubbles).
I then used my trusty Lindy's Stampgang sprays to get some colour down. I started with a pink and an orange Flat Fabio (no shimmer) and thought it could do with some intensifying; so I used another pink and another orange with shimmer, just on the top right and bottom left. The end result is nice, I think.
Next I stamped the lady (Dina Wakley) and also the background randomly. For this I used stamps from Prima (Finnabair) and Tim Holtz (text). I white embossed the Prima stamp as the white ink I used wasn't white enough.
Next I doodled around some of the bubbles and drew a line around the page. I used a Tim Holtz stencil and added some more dots with pink and orange Distress Inks. I also wrote the 'she is' and used another stencil and some model paste to put the 'unique' on which I coloured with a marker. That was it, I think.

Thank you for stopping by today !

Adore

Hello everyone,

At the Wicked Wednesday blog the theme this week is 'Furry Friends'. So I made this:

I had the ATC card already. I usually make backgrounds when I am doing other things; with leftover paints and inks. All I added was the numbers and I inked the edges, both with blue Archival ink.
The rabbit is from Crafty Individuals and he was stamped on book text. I coloured him with pencils. Lastly I added the sentiment which is a Tim Holtz chit chat sticker.

Don't forget to fly....

Hello everyone,

Over at the Tag Along blog the theme this week is silhouettes. Here's mine:

I started with cutting a tag from white card stock and painting it with gesso. Next I stamped the silhouetted lady with Versafine Onyx Black ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. I then used a stencil with some model paste to give the tag some more interest.
I used Lindy's Magicals with water to colour. In the detail photo you can see the lovely shimmer. I used two shades of pink for the tag around the image and a silver grey with a bit of pink for the lady.
Next I randomly stamped the background. The sentiment was stamped on white card stock, cut apart and glued on. The last thing I did was put some ribbon through the hole.

Thank you so much for stopping by today !

When we believe in ourselves..

Hello everyone,

I had a play with my art journal today. I used one of my new Dina Wakley stamps and some old favourites..

The background was started with white gesso. I then painted it with 2 colours of Silks Acrylic paints. They have a lovely shimmer, it almost looks metallic. Next I stamped the background randomly; I used Prima stamps designed by Finnabair and a green, a grey and a blue Archival ink.
I also added some model paste through a stencil to add more interest. It took on some of the colour of the background which I like. I also rubbed my black Archival Inkpad along the edges of the pages. Unfortunately most of this got cropped off the photo as my book is so wonky that I can't take a decent photo anymore...
Next I stamped the lady (by Dina Wakley) with black Archival Ink. I found the two hearts lying on my desk. They too are by Dina Wakley and I stamped them on vellum and heat embossed them with black embossing powder. I decided to use them on this page. I added some washi tape, some white spatters and finally the sentiment which is from Stampingback. This was stamped on white card stock, cut apart,  glued on the page and doodled around.

Here are some detailed photos.

Boo

Hello everyone,

and another Wednesday has arrived and that means another Challenge ! Today the lovely Carol is hosting and she chose the theme "Early Halloween". This is what she said :

"I love Halloween, so any excuse to sneek a make in a month early is OK in my book. x "

I am afraid I have to disagree with Carol as I don't like Halloween at all ! No worries though, I have made something....

This tag was started with stamping the angel and the pumpkin on it. I did a bit of selective stamping there as he is normally holding a heart. Next I made a mask and stuck it over the stamped image.
I then used Distress Inks and a blending tool to colour the tag. I then did som background stamping. The spider web and the word BOO are silver embossed.
When that was all done, I took the mask off and coloured the angel with coloured pencils.
Lastly I put a ribbon through the hole and that was that !

I used the following stamps for this tag:

Why not play along with us this week. There are two $30 vouchers to be won ! Just remember NO digi's and only one entry per person per challenge. Good luck !

Specimen

Hello everyone,

Today is my turn over at the VivaLasVegaStamps! Blog and I made a card :

This is the finished project and here is how I made it :

I painted a piece of white card stock with gesso.

Next I mixed Primary Elements with soft gel Medium and

painted my card with that....

I then sprayed some Lindy's spray ink on it and it gave me this mottled effect which I thought was nice.

Then I got my stamps out !

The bell jar was stamped straight on the card along with some numbers in the background. I used black Archival ink for the jar and grey for the numbers.

The rest of the images were stamped on separate card stock, I used Memento ink for the bunny and the bee as I was going to colour with Copic Markers. The sentiment words, of which I only used one in the end, were stamped on black card stock using Versamark ink. I then heat embossed them with white embossing powder.

Here is how it looked after colouring...

I then decided to stamp the jar on acetate also; I used StaZon ink for this. I got rid of the back rim with a cotton bud and some StaZon cleaner and cut it out.  Next I glued the bunny on the card.

I then adhered the acetate jar over the top. The bee was glued over the acetate, so was the sentiment. I also drew some doodle lines on the edges of the card panel...

Lastly I adhered the panel to a card blank.

Here is a view from the side so you can see the shiny acetate. It looks like bunny is really in a glass jar...

I used the following stamps:

Union Jack with bulldog ..

Hello everyone,

This is my second post for today and this challenge is the one from Crafty Individuals.
The theme for September is 'Anything goes', so I made this card:

I started with a piece of white card stock, slightly smaller than my card front. I coloured this piece of card stock with Neocolors. These are water-soluble crayons and I love them. I created the Union Jack flag using different shades of yellows and oranges and a touch of red. I just scribble them on and blend them with my fingers. I outlined the lines with a black crayon.
Next I randomly stamped the background and went around the outside of the card with the same black crayon; later on I decided it was not black enough and I went around again with a black ink pad. The bulldog was stamped with Memento black ink and coloured with Copic Markers. I then cut him out and adhered them to the card on top of some washi tape to ground him. Lastly I stamped the sentiment, cut it apart, glued it on to the card and went around it with a black pencil. The panel was then adhered onto a blank card.

Thank you so much for stopping by today !

Hello everyone,

This is my first of two posts for today. I fancied playing along with some challenges so that is what I did. The first one I did is over at the Art Journey blog where the challenge this month is : Make a bookmark. Here's mine:

The bookmark was painted with acrylic paints. After these dried I stamped the background and went around the edge with a black ink pad. Next I stamped the three flowers on book paper, cut them out and adhered them to the tag. The word read was made by cutting letters out of the same book paper. Lastly I glued the whole thing on a bit of card stock and added some ribbon.

Magic

Hello everyone,

Today, for my DT Post for Katzelkraft,  I have made a tag. I love making tags !

I painted this tag with acrylic paints; I didn't use a brush though, I used my fingers... When the paint had dried I stamped the background with a variety of stamps. (A complete list of all stamps used is at the bottom of this post). As I used white chalk ink for the script, it tool quite a while to dry. Next I stamped the rabbit on some tissue paper, tore him out and adhered him to the tag with gel medium. When this had dried I coloured him a little with some Big Brush Markers. The image is very dark so it doesn't really need a lot of colouring.
Next I drew a few lines around the tag. I think this really frames the image. Lastly I stamped the sentiment and put some ribbon through the hole.

I used stamps from the following sets:

The rabbit.

The sentiment.

The stone wall image.

The script..

Happy BIG birthday..

Hello everyone,

and happy Wednesday to you. Time for another challenge over at the Stampotique blog. Today's host is the lovely Kathi and here's what she said :

'21, 25, 50, 60th Birthday or Anniversary -- It's time to celebrate! Let's see a project that celebrates those sometimes scary milestones of life!'

So, I made this card:

I figured, if it is scary you don't want a number on there, lol...

I started with a blank card panel on which I stamped the presents. I also stamped them on white card stock and coloured them with my trusty Copic Markers. I then cut the image out.
Next I coloured the panel with Distress Inks and a blending tool using yellows and oranges. I dripped some water over it, dried it and then dripped some white ink to make the spots a little more obvious. I also did some background stamping and a little doodling around the edge. I then glued the coloured presents on top of the stamped ones on the panel.
Lastly I stamped the sentiment, cut it out, doodled around the edges and adhered it to the panel.

I used the following stamps:

I hope you will play along with us this week. You never know, you might win one of two $30 vouchers at the end of the month. Just remember only one entry per person per challenge and NO digi's.

50 Shades of red

Hello everyone,

Today I decided to take part in the Stampingback Challenge which this month is 50 shades of red.
I thought this was a true challenge as I hardly ever used red in my crafting so I struggled a bit.
I am also entering this card into the Craft Stamper Challenge of 'take a stamp'.

I couldn't resist using this fabulous Ballerina again.. Today I coloured her with coloured pencils. The background was stamped with red ink first and then I went over it with Copic Markers. It then was too red for the ballerina to stand out so I used some gesso to tone it down.  The flowers were white embossed, coloured and cut apart and I only used part of them.
The dancer was placed on some washi tape. The last thing I did was draw some lines around the panel before adhering it to a card.

Thank you for stopping by today !

Approach with caution

Hello everyone,

and happy Wednesday ! Nellie is hosting the challenge over at the Stampotique Designers' Challenge blog. She wants us to use only 2 stamps and this is what she says :

"I tend to use a lot of stamps when I create something. Thought I might challenge myself and all of you by limiting the number of stamps. So no more than two stamps please!"

I normally use a lot of stamps too when I am creating so using only 2 was a bit of a challenge... I made up for it by using lots of paints, inks and stencils though !

Here is my art journal page :

Here's how I made it:
I stamped Topher on a blank piece of paper and then used Dylusions Paints to colour the page. I used a brush and an old credit card today. I mixed the blue, the turquoise and the pink with white to make pastel shades. I painted around Topher. Next I did all the stencilling, using the black and white Dylusions paints and a bit of Distress Ink.
Next I used a bottle top for the circles and a creditcard for the stripes.
After I decided I was happy with the background I coloured Topher with my Polychromos Pencils. Lastly I stamped the sentiment. I used these two stamps:

Why not come and play along with us. You might win one of two $30 vouchers for the online shop HERE. Just remember NO digi's and only one entry per person per challenge !
Good luck!

I'm not proud !

Hello everyone,

It's my turn on the VivaLasVegaStamps! Blog again today.

I am totally addicted to Lindy's Sprays and Alice in Wonderland. No idea why I am hooked on Alice though as I didn't even read the book when I was I child. It was only a couple of months ago that I bought a second hand copy of Alice in Wonderland and Through the looking glass. It's a great book !

Anyway here is the art journal that I made:

I started the page with gesso and then used a stencil to 'build' the wall. Once that had dried I used about 6 different sprays from Lindy's Stampgang to colour the background. I kept spraying, dripping and drying until I was happy with the result. Next I stamped the background randomly. (There is a complete list of all the VLVS! Stamps I used at the bottom of this post).

The four main characters were stamped on white card stock and coloured with Copic Markers. I did stamp the bee and the cat on the background too, so I didn't have to cut out the bee's antennae and legs and the cat's whiskers. After colouring I cut them all out and adhered them on to the page. The sentiment is a quote out of 'Through the looking glass' by Lewis Caroll. I typed it on my old typewriter, cut it into strips and adhered it to the page. Lastly I doodled around the strips.

I used the following stamps:

Heel veel succes gewenst allemaal en veel plezier !

Hier is mijn voorbeeld :

I have used the following stamps for this/
Ik heb de volgende stempels hier voor gebruikt:

I stamped the girl first and then masked her. Next I stamped all the squares from the Shadow Frames set with different colours of Archival Inks. I splattered ink on it and used a credit card and India Ink to create the 'stripes'.  I took off the mask and coloured the girl with pencils. Lastly I used a stencil and ink to put the word 'princess' on the page and drew a line around the page.

Tim's tag September

Hello everyone,

and welcome to my second post of today. This one is another tag but now for Sir Tim's Challenge 'the 12 tags of 2015'. Here it is:

I wasn't sure about this one... Not sure I like it. Anyway, as usual I didn't have all the stuff Tim used. But I did have the alcohol inks (that I never use, lol), so I dusted them off and off I went...
The little panel was then stitched onto the tag which I dragged through some Frayed Burlap Distress inks on my craft sheet.
For the stencilled pattern that Tim used translucent model paste for I used Extra Heavy Gel medium because I only have white model paste. I accentuated it with some Archival ink and then realised I should have stamped those hearts first before adding the stencilling. Duh....
So I just stamped the hearts on vellum, cut them out and stapled them to the tag. Next I created the sentiments on black card stock and stapled them down as well. A ribbon finished the tag off..

Thanks for stopping by !

Perfect moment

Hello everyone,

It has been ages that I played in the Tag Along challenge. So today I thought I'd give it a go. It was a nice opportunity to try out my new Stampingback stamps... Yay !
The theme this time is "Crackle" and here is what I made:

I used DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylic paint in Cobalt Turquoise Hue to paint the tag. I then covered it with white Crackle paste, also from Deco Art. Next I rubbed the whole thing with Patina Green Antiquing Cream (Deco Art). After this dried I took some of it off again. This gives a nice effect.. I rubbed a little more of the paint along the edges to get a darker edge.
I stamped the background with a scriptstamp (brand unknown) and the compass rose from Set 154 ABC+ from Stampingback.
I also used a small background stamp with black ink in three places and didn't like it so I covered the stamped images up with some book pages which I then rubbed with the same antiquing cream to make them blend in more. I actually like this so mistakes are not always disastrous...
Next I stamped the ballerina, coloured her and cut her out. I also stamped the sentiment en cut it in strips. Everything was then glued to the tag. A ribbon finished it off.

Thank you so much for stopping by today !

Mécanique..

Hello everyone,

Today for my DT post for Katzelkraft I have made a card.

I started with a card panel that was slightly smaller than the card front. I stamped the bird on it and also the word 'mecanique' with Versafine Black onyx ink which I then embossed with clear embossing powder. I then made the dots with model paste and dried it with my heat tool.
Now the fun was starting, I used three colours of Lindy's Stampgang Starburst Sprays and a spray bottle with water to create the background, I think it came out really cool !
I also used a background stamp with a brick pattern and drew a line along the edges of the panel after which I glued it to the card.

I used stamps from the following set:

And of course this cute wheeled bird :

Whatever...

Hello everyone,

Another Wednesday, another Stampotique Challenge ! Yay ! Today the lovely Sue is our hostess and she chose "Perfectly Primary" for her theme and this is what she said:

"Take 2 of the 3 primary colours (and the colours that they create when mixed) and just use these on your creation. You can also use black and white if you like. I'm looking forward to seeing what you create."

I made a card for this challenge:

I chose blue and yellow for my colours. I started with a piece of card stock that was slightly smaller than my card front. I used a blending tool and two colours of Distress Ink; Faded Jeans and Mustard Seed. I coloured two thirds of the card with the yellow and then did the same on the other side with the blue which created green in the middle. Next I put a swirly stencil over the top and sprayed water over it.  I think this gives such a cool effect after you mop up the water. It 'bleaches' the pattern into the ink.
Next I stamped some text in the same Distress Ink colours and dripped some white ink over the top. This reacts with the ink underneath so you end up with a lighter shade of whatever colour is underneath.
I then stamped the banner on the card and on a piece of white card stock. The flags on the white card stock were coloured with the blending tool and the same two Distress Inks. I then used a water brush to take up some of the ink, to make it lighter. I accentuated that with a white pen.
The main figure on this card is called 'Monster news' by Kira Nichols and is part of the new Stampotique release. I coloured him with Copic Markers, cut him out and adhered him to the card. Lastly I stamped the 'whatever..' on his banner,  drew some lines along the edges and glued the panel to the card.

I used the following stamps:

Thank you for stopping by today ! I would love it if you would participate in our challenge this week. You could win one of two $30 vouchers at the end of the month to spend in the online shop HERE. Just remember NO digi's and only one entry per person per challenge...

Werewolf ?

Hello everyone,

It's the 1st of September today and that means it is my turn on Roc's blog. I have made a mini art journal and I have used one of Roc's brand-new stamps for this.

I started out with white gesso. Next I took some Distress inks and coloured the page; two shades of blue for the sky and green and yellow for the grassy hill.
The moon is a die cut circle which I coloured with Copics and glued in the centre of the light blue spot. I stamped Roc's brand-new 'Polka Dot Dog' and coloured him with Copics, thinking carefully about where the light and the shading should be.... not as easy as it looks !
After colouring I cut him out and placed him on the hill. I then used a Big Brush Marker to draw in his shadow.
I decided it needed a bit more and stamped the 'Heart Vine' directly on the page. I took away the green and blue inks in the hearts with a water brush and re-coloured them with a pink pencil. The vines themselves were coloured with a Big Brush marker.
Lastly I typed the sentiment (which I made up), cut it apart and glued it on the page. I used a black marker to doodle around the strips.

I used the following stamps :

You can get these stamps here: www.Stampotique.com
Thank you for stopping by today !

I feel pretty...

Hello everyone,

Today, for my DT post for Inkadinkadutchies & Lost Coast Designs stamps,  I have a postcard to share and this is it :

Background was painted with acrylic paint and then I added some washi tape and some book text that was gessoed. Next I did some background stamping and stencilling. I also went around the edges of the card with the Archival Inkpad that I used for the stamping. The 'Housewife' was stamped on white card stock, coloured, clear embossed and cut out. I adhered her to the card. Lastly I added the sentiment which I made with my old typewriter.

I used two stamps for this :

You can get these stamps here :
