Edison's latest wonder

welcome to my blogpost for AALL & Create for which today I have made an art journal page. I have used all Bipasha Bk stamps and some old favourite materials to make the background and to colour the images.

and here's how:

First I stamped the bits and pieces of the stamp sets that I wanted to use to collage. I didn't use everything in the end. 

I wanted to use the pylon from this set so I stamped it on tissue paper so I could cut out exactly the part I wanted and glue it where I wanted without it being visible. 

I chose the lightbulb moment stamp to use as a base for my page and stamped it on a square piece of card stock.

I added the pylon on the left and added some of the wires at the top with a black pen. I then sealed everything with clear gesso.  I used Dylusions ink sprays to colour my background. I did use a brush to put it on though. After it dried I used a brayer and white acrylic paint to roll over some of the colour and tone it down. I did some more of that later. I also used a white pen and added some detail and some splatters. 

Next I coloured the collage pieces; these were also painted with clear gesso so I could use my Big Brush Markers by Faber Castell to colour them. 

Here is the finished piece. I added more white details and splatters, glued my collage pieces in place and replaced the protractor with a lightbulb. The eye and both lightbulbs big and small have glossy accents on them so they are nice and shiny. I still wasn't happy though and decided at the last minute to add some modelling paste through a stencil. I had to brayer over some white paint though as Dylusions keep coming through everything and I ended up with yellow and blue modelling paste.

Say cheese

Hello everyone,

and welcome to my blogpost for Katzelkraft. I cannot get enough of the animal stamps and today I have used a cat which I paired with the camera. I turned the scene into a card.

I used a gelli print for this card which I took from my stash. I stamped the camera on white card stock and coloured it with coloured pencils, cut it out and set it aside. I then stamped the cat on tissue paper and glued this face down onto white card stock with gel medium. Because the tissue is so thin you can see the image through the paper and so have created a reverse image. I coloured him with Faber Castell Big Brush Markers and a water brush and then cut him out to. The two were then adhered to the gelli printed panel after I stuck some washi tape on it. Lastly I added some shading and the sentiment that comes with the camera. I then glued the panel to a white card.

Days of Summer

Hello everyone,

I have made this card for my DT from Hobbycompleet de Duif.

I took one of my gelli prints and added a layer of gel medium over the top so I could colour with my Faber Castle Pitt Brush Markers. This way you have some time to play with the ink before it dries. 

I stamped the flowers and coloured them in. 

I added the word dream with Distress Oxide ink here and there and heat embossed it because it took too long to dry... lol 

Lastly I added the sentiment and matted it on black card. 

I used Kay Carley's Eclectica stamps by PaperArtsy EKC01.

and happy Wednesday. The Stampotique Design Team has a week off for Thanksgiving. But we over in the Netherlands do not celebrate Thanksgiving so I made something anyway !

To my American friends that are reading this : Happy Thanksgiving !

I have made card:

I've had this big mushroom for ages but hadn't used it yet. So today was the day... I used a piece of gelli printed paper and created this little scene on it... The images were stamped separately on white card stock, coloured with Copic Markers, cut out and adhered to the card. Before all that I did stamp the little flowers on the background and coloured in the petals with a Big Brush Marker. 

I have used the following stamps:

Atlantic Ocean

Hello everyone,

Today I had a lovely day in my craft room just playing ! I got out my PaperArtsy stuff and made this trio of ATC's.

They fit nicely together but you can also look at them separately :

And here's how I made them :

I used a brayer to get colour on my ATC's which were kept together with a few pieces of painters' tape. I used the Fresco Finish Acrylic paint in Teresa Green, Professor Plum and Mermaid. 

After I finished brayering (I did use some white (Snowflake) as well) I randomly stamped the background. I used two set of Hotpicks for these ATC's : HP1201 and HP1302.

Next I stamped the images on tissue paper as I wanted to flip the fish and I only wanted the anchor and the crab, without the 'bits' around them. This way I could just cut the images out and adhere them to my ATC's. I used gel medium for gluing. After they were dry I used some Big Brush Markers by Faber Castell to lightly colour in the images. 

The sentiment was stamped on white card stock and on painted card stock because I didn't know which one would look the best. In the end I used the white and added some of the Professor Plum paint around the edges. 

And there you have it !

For my first DT post for March for VivaLasVegaStamps! I have made an art journal. I have been watching VLVS! own DeeDee Catron doing art journaling on YouTube and I saw her using a shape that I really liked so I borrowed it from her. I am sure she won't mind. It is a circle with a hole in it and to me it looks really retro...

I started with die cutting the circles and the holes in the circles. These circles were then adhered to my journal page. Next I gessoed it all with white gesso. 

I used a few shades of yellow acrylic paint (PaperArtsy Fresco paints) and my fingers to add the colour to this page. The dark shades around the circles were made with a brown Big Brush Marker. 

next I used a bottle cap with yellow ink and a credit card and some watered down black paint to add some mark making. I also stamped the background a little with Saffron, Sepia and Black Archival inks. There is a list of all the stamps I used at the bottom of this post. 

The lady was stamped on white card stock, coloured with Copic Markers, cut out and adhered on the page. I used a coloured pencil to add some shading under her. This is so she is anchored down and not floating in space. The sentiment was also stamped on white card, coloured with copics and the edges were darkened with the Sepia Archival ink. I adhered this to the page as well and that finished it off.

Today, for my DT Post for Katzelkraft,  I have made a tag. I love making tags !

I painted this tag with acrylic paints; I didn't use a brush though, I used my fingers... When the paint had dried I stamped the background with a variety of stamps. (A complete list of all stamps used is at the bottom of this post). As I used white chalk ink for the script, it tool quite a while to dry. Next I stamped the rabbit on some tissue paper, tore him out and adhered him to the tag with gel medium. When this had dried I coloured him a little with some Big Brush Markers. The image is very dark so it doesn't really need a lot of colouring. 

Next I drew a few lines around the tag. I think this really frames the image. Lastly I stamped the sentiment and put some ribbon through the hole.

Enchanted

I really love playing in the different challenges that are around on the internet. For the March challenge over at Crafty Individuals with the theme "the animal world" I made a mini canvas. It was great fun to make..

I started with model paste and then gesso. After it was all dry I painted the little canvas (10 x 10 cm) with blues and greens and a little white. I went around the edges with a Pitt Big Brush Marker. Next I stamped the background with a textstamp. I then stamped the bunnies by Alice Palace on book paper and coloured them with my Polychromos Pencils. (I am learning, slowly !) I cut them out with a little border so they would stand out more on the canvas. I adhered them to the canvas with gel medium. Next I stamped the sentiment and doodled around the letters with a white paint pen. The last thing I did was add some liquid pearls and some twine and that was that. They are such a cute pair, don't you think ?

Unleash yourself

I am posting my DT piece for Roc Nicholas today so that means it must be the 1st of March. Doesn't time fly ? For this month I decided to do an art journal and here it is:

I started with gesso on the pages and then closed the book while it was still wet. This creates a lovely texture in the gesso. Unfortunately you can't really see it in the picture. 

Next I sprayed Lindys Stamp Gang sprays on it, green and blue, dried it with my heat tool and repeated this until I was happy. I also dripped some more of the same ink on the pages. Next I used a Prima Stencil and blue Archival ink to create a little interest. You have to really look as it is very subtle. 

I then stamped the Chandelier and coloured the hearts and candles with a white paint pen, so I could put some colour over the top of that. When it dried I used Big Brush markers to colour the hearts pink and the flames yellow. The beads hanging on the chandelier were made with Liquid Pearls. The sentiment was stamped directly on the page and coloured with Big Brush Markers in the same (ish) shades as the background. 

Next I used the Unleash Yourself stamp with blue and black ink and used part of it as a background stamp. Bird Princess was stamped on white card stock and coloured with Copics for the skin and Big Brush Markers and pencils for the rest. She was cut out and adhered to the page. I then coloured some   book text with the same colours Big Brush Markers and stamped the flower from Daisy Head on it several times. They were cut out, shaded with pencils and more Liquid Pearls added in the hearts. 

These were then glued to the page and that finished it off.

More birds..

Hello fellow Crafters,

Today I have made another art journal with two of the birds I had left over from my colouring session yesterday.

The base of this is a gelli print. I used a letter stencil with Distress Ink and another stencil with some model paste. I stamped the Stampotique Tree on the page and coloured it with Big Brush Markers. Next I used another stencil and purple ink to put the "heart speech bubble" on. The birds were coloured and cut out yesterday (with my Polychromos Pencils) and I adhered them to the page. The last think I did was write the sentiment and put the date stamp on !

One more bird left, I will be back !
