Stars can't shine...

Hello everyone,

and welcome to my second post for today. Every now and then I like to play in challenges and this time I have chosen the Oddball Art Stamps by Lizzy Love Challenge. The theme for July is
'a sky full of stars' so I made an ATC.

I am ashamed to say that I do not own any Oddball images so as the challenge is 'use any image' I chose this little chap called Hayes from Vera Lane Studio. Isn't he gorgeous ! :o)

Anyway I coloured the background with Distress Inks and a blending tool and then made the stars by splattering white paint over it. The image was coloured with Copic Markers and cut out. I adhered him to the card and typed out the sentiment which was glued on as well.

Just Dance

Hello everyone,

Today I am showing you another project with the lovely 'Just Dance' set by Vera Lane Studio. You should really have a look at the Etsy Shop because there are so many fantastic images there. I always said I didn't like digital images but I have to say they certainly do have advantages over rubber stamping... You can have them as big or as small as you want, print other things on the same card and I always thought this was very difficult but it isn't ! If I can do it, everyone can !

Anyway, here is my postcard:

I took a piece of design paper and brayered som white paint in the right hand corner en up the bottom and right hand side. I added some vellum with music notes on the left and some washi tape and then stitched it with my sewing machine.
The image was printed out and coloured with Copic Markers, cut out and adhered together with the sentiment from the same set.

Embrace beautiful chaos..

Hello everyone,

I have made a set of three ATC's using France Papillon's Birdy stamp. It was a quick project and I used almost the same method as the art journal page I made for UmWow Studio (also on my blog today) . I really loved the result and this was the perfect little project to repeat the process.. Instead of a chipboard I used modelpaste...

I think they turned out really nice. They were made with Mixed Media paper; I added model paste and after that was dry, some watered down acrylic paint by PaperArtsy. I used a Stabilo All pencil to add the black. I then stamped the background with France's Vintage Bill Stamp and added the birds which I stamped on tissue paper. That's how I could turn the middle one around. Lastly I added a Small Talk sticker by Tim Holtz which I cut into three parts.

Thank you so much for stopping by today !!!

Dreamers only

Hello everyone,

Today I am sharing a really simple art journal page for UmWow Studio ; all the time I just keep adding stuff and sometimes it is just nice to have something a little simpler. So that's what I did and it was quite difficult to do...

This is it and I must say I really like how it came out...

Here's what I did:

I used this chevron shape from the Doodle Mash set. (Link below)

I cut it in two pieces and adhered it to my  paper with gel medium.

Next a couple of layers of gesso.

I decided also to try something else today. Miss DeeDee always uses her Stabilo All pencil. I have had one for about 300 years and haven't really used it so today was the day !

First, paint, watered down and sprayed with water too to make it run.

Next I drew along the chevron with the pencil and used a brush to make it a little grungy... I like it.

And here is the finished page. I added a little stamping here and there. I used grey and black Archival inks and VivaLasVegaStamps.

A detail of the chevron

This is the set I used :

Happy family

Hello everyone,

Today I am sharing a postcard I made for Vera Lane Studio with the 'Cats on the block'. These little cat heads come in a right an left version because they are made for planners. So you can stick two together. I am not into planners so I used them for a postcard, which turned out really cute I think.

The idea for this card came from a 6 x 6 paperback I bought. The patterns are all wooden planks like this one so I thought of a fence and these little cats looking over.. and that is what I did. I coloured them with Copic Markers, cut them out and adhered them behind the 'fence'. The top of the card is a piece of gelli printed card.

This is the set :

and you'll find it HERE.

Naughty but nice

Hello everyone,

I had a quick play today. Just for me.. so much fun ! I used a Gelli Print made with PaperArtsy Chalk Acrylics and all PaperArtsy stamps.

I took lots of stamped and digital images on holiday and did a lot of colouring with my beloved Copic Markers. This little dude is one of them. So I made a gelli print, and added some stamping and some white embossing. When I was happy I glued him in place on top of some washi tape and added the sentiment and some doodling with a white pen along the edges.

That was it !

Thanks for stopping by today !

Dancers don't need wings

Hello everyone,

For my DT post for Vera Lane Studio today I had some fun with the new set called 'Just Dance'.

She is adorable isn't she. I had loads of fun colouring her with my favourite Copic Markers. She has been adhered to a gelli printed background the same as the sentiment.

A chance to dance

Hello everyone,

I have a postcard for you today. It was made with yet another gelli printed background. I used a couple of Vera Lane Studio images. This little dancer is so cute ! I thought I'd pair her with something unusual ! :o)

Lol... I suppose it is a chance to dance... All images were coloured with Copic Markers, cut out and adhered to the card. I also added some washitape for the car to 'drive' on.

A different use of stamps...

Hallo allemaal,

Hello everyone,

Today I want to show you how to adapt a stamp to suit your projects simply by cutting or masking bits off.

You might remember this card that I made last month.

With this same stamp which is one image (apart from the word Daydreams) I made this set of three ATC's.

Here they are separately so you can see them better:

Op wit card stock heb ik acrylverf gebrayerd. Ik heb eerst geel, oranje, roze en blauw gebruikt en daarna wit eroverheen om het wat af te zwakken. Toen ik tevreden was heb ik het card stock in ATC's gesneden. Daarna heb ik met verschillende kleuren inkt die er mooi bij pasten (roze en grijs in dit geval) de achtergrond hier en daar bestempeld.

I started with brayering acrylic paint onto card; I used yellow, orange, pink and blue. I also used a little white over the top to tone it down a bit. Next I stamped the background with inks that went with the colour scheme. I used pink and grey Archival Inks.

I stamped the stamp three times on white card stock and coloured the girl and one of the flowers three times, cut them out and adhered them onto the ATC's.

I hope I gave you some inspiration to look differently at your stamps.
Ik heb de volgende materialen gebruikt:

Materials:

Amsterdam Acrylverf
roller
Stempels:
PaperArtsy ELB34
Carabelle 60309 - Une femme parmi des fleurs
Leuk dat je er weer was !

Kiss kiss

Hello everyone,

Today I have a postcard to share that I made for the  Visible Image DT

On a pink, yellow and orange gelliprinted background I stamped the mouth and heat embossed it with pink powder. I then used a black and white pen to colour the inside of the mouth and the teeth.
The X's are also from the set with the lips which is called 'Dare to be different'.
The sentiment which consists of three kisses was done with the new Alphabet set.

I have used the following stamps:

Don't forget our challenge this month ! The theme is 'a splash of colour' and you can interpret any way you like. Prize is a GBP 40,-- Coupon for the online shop ! yay !

Brave wings

Hello everyone,

and welcome to my second inspiration post for Country View Challenges where the theme this month is 'Things with wings'. I made an art journal page :

I didn't take many photos as I got carried away, lol.
I had the background ready as I always have a stack of gelli prints handy.

The girl ('word girl five' by StarTrish Design)  was coloured with Copic Markers and cut out... I did mask off the words inside her body as I prefer her without.

I added stamping to the background (PaperArtsy) and some stencilling (Tim Holtz) and that was that.

I put some washi tape down and added the girl (by Trish Latimer). Lastly I added the sentiment which is a 'small talk' sticker by Tim Holtz.

That was it !

Thank you so much for stopping by today !

Friends forever

Hello everyone,

I have a little art journal to share today. I love these little Kokeshi Dolls by Vera Lane Studio.

Of course I have used a gelli print. I seem to do nothing else these days... getting lazy !

The dolls were coloured with Copic Markers, cut out and adhered to the page. I also added some white pen details to them and the page and did some collaging. The words are from another set which is 'Helga's Hedgehog'. This is a very useful set as you always need words and there are lots in this set.

There are links to both sets below.

Happy new home

Hello everyone,
Hallo allemaal,

and welcome to my blog where today I am sharing a card I made for Hobbycompleet de Duif.

This card was made using different pattern papers from the same pack. I stamped the yellow polka dot piece twice with a Katzelkraft swirl and then on another piece stamped the house, cut it out and adhered it to the panel on some Tim Holtz washi tape. The sentiment was typed on a piece of pattern paper and matted (as was the yellow panel) and adhered on top of the same washitape.

The whole thing was then adhered to a white card.

I have used the following stamps:
