So delicious !

Hello everyone,

Today I have made an art journal for my DT post over at Katzelkraft. I have used some of the new stamps for this and it was great fun making it.

I painted this page with Art Anthology Sorbet paints. They are a bit gel like and have some glitter in them. I think they are great. I used a blue and a green. After this dried I used a stencil and some model paste to create the circles. These were then coloured with my finger and some Archival ink. I used a dark blue for this. Next I scraped some white gesso over the page with a pallet knife; I also rubbed some of it along the edges of the page.

I was then time to stamp the background. I used a few stamps for this; a complete list of all the stamps I used is at the bottom of this post.

Next I stamped the branch with the birds, partially, on the edge of the page. I wanted to put the mouse up it but I only then did I see he was actually facing the wrong way. So I used a bit of blank rubber to reverse the image. What you do is, you stamp the image you want to reverse on this rubber and then stamp the rubber on the paper, et voila ! a reversed image. Next I stamped the cat.

I coloured both images with Copic Markers, cut them out and adhered them onto the page. I placed the cat on some washi tape to ground him.

The sentiment was the last thing I stamped. I used white ink but I didn't think it stood out enough so I sprinkled white embossing powder over it and heat embossed it.

That was it !

Here is a close up of the 'reversed' mouse....

... and one of the cat !

I used the following stamps:

Solo 44

KTZ 142

KTZ 152

KTZ131

KTZ139

I hope you enjoyed reading my post and got some inspiration !

WIcked

Hello everyone,

and happy Wednesday to you ! There is a new challenge over on the Stampotique blog and Arwen is hosting it. It is called 'Scary Confusion' and this is what she said:

"I love creepy things and I like weird. Combine in your work a little scary and a little confused."

Hopefully I have covered the creepy, scary and weird in this postcard, which is a bit Halloweeny I suppose:

I coloured the card with Distress Inks and stamped the background. The heads were embossed with white embossing powder. Next I stamped loads of skulls, Hunk and Mr. Stripes. They were all coloured, cut out and adhered to the card. I added some stitches to Hunk's head and the spiders head too. The sentiment was stamped and embossed with white embossing powder.

I used the following stamps:

Why not play along with us this week and you might just win one of the two $30 vouchers ! Yay ! Just remember NO digi's and only one entry per person per challenge...

Thank you so much for stopping by !

Put a bird on it !

Hello everyone,

Over at the Vera Lane Studios FB page,  the theme of the new ATC swap is "Put a bird on it". I used one of Janet's free digi's... and made these:

The backgrounds were made with Art Anthology Sorbet paints, white gesso and a palet knife. I then used a stencil and model paste to add some interest. I also used a bottle cap and black acrylic paint to create the circles. A black fine liner pen was used to draw the line around the edges. I also splattered some white paint on them. The birds is a freebie from Vera Land Studio Digi's and I printed it out, coloured it with my Copic Markers and then cut it out. I did this twice, reversing the blue and the green. I found the word 'cockatoo' in two dictionaries and tore them out, adhered them to the ATC's. I then sat the cockatoos on top it it...

I hope the recipients will like my birdies !

Atlantis

Hello everyone,

Every month I try to take part in an ATC swap which is organised by Wini over on the Craftorij FB page. The theme in September was buildings and this is what I made :

These ATC were all made by stamping (stamps by De Stempelwinkel, Stampingback and Art Journey) and masking and the colouring was all done with Copic Markers. I hope the recipients liked them !

Another colouring exercise..

Hello everyone,

I did some more colouring with Polychromos this afternoon. I think this is very relaxing and boy do I need relaxing as tomorrow it is back to redecorating. So apart from the stuff I planned already I won't be around very much. It is the living room next and this is quite a big project... Never mind, I will get it done. So back to the colouring. I did another Katzelkraft cat and made it into an ATC:

The background was made with a quick spray with Lindy's Stampgang Spray, an ink pad around the edges and some background stamping. Apart from the sentiment, which is from VivaLasVegaStamps! all the stamps used are from Katzelkraft.

Thank you for stopping by !

An exercise in colouring

Hello everyone,

Today I have been practising my colouring with pencils. I still think it is a lot more difficult than colouring with Copic Markers. It also takes a lot longer...

This cat is from the latest release of Katzelkraft Stamps and so is the crown. I thought it would be fun to use one of these cats to practise my colouring. The ATC is one I had lying about and all I did was stamp the background with some more Katzelkraft stamps, stamp the cat on white card stock and on the ATC. The cat was then coloured, cut out and glued on top of himself... lol The crown was then stamped, coloured, cut out and glued on his head. It looks like he is looking at it and thinking: 'What the hell....".

Autumn

Hello everyone,

Every month I take part in an ATC Swap here in Holland. This month's theme is 'mushroom'.

So for my DT post for VivaLasVegaStamps! today I captured the process. So sit back, have a nice cup of coffee of tea and see how these ATC's came about.

As always, here is a photo of the finished product to start with :

Aren't they cute !

So, here's how I started. First I made some masks, two of the mushroom and one of the gnome. (There will be a list of all stamps I used at the bottom of this post).

I stamped the mushroom and then put the mask on, so I can stamp the mushroom again and it will look like it is behind this one. All stamping has been done with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink as I planned on using Copic Markers to colour everything..

Like so. I continued doing that until.....

I had 4 mushrooms. I added another one later in the right hand bottom corner.

Next I masked two mushrooms and stamped the gnome. It now looks as if he is standing behind the mushrooms...

Here you can see what that looks like.

I did three ATC cards like that. Here you can see I added another mushroom in the bottom right corner of each card.

I then masked everything off (not very well I noticed later...) and coloured the sky. I used Distress Ink in Broken China and Mermaid Lagoon and a blending tool for this.

This is how that looks. I then decided I wanted something in the top right corner.

I used this lovely naked woman's 'hair' for this. Doesn't that look cool... I also stamped the background a little bit.

Here you can see how that looks. You can also see that in the right hand card that I didn't mask it off very well as there are differences in colour. I will fix that later with a Copic Marker.

Now, it was time to start colouring... I used a whole bunch of Copic Markers but you could easily used pencils or waterbased markers. If you wanted to used watercolours you should used watercolour card stock and Archival Ink.

Here is one that is finished. I did try and make the background look a little better later as I wasn't quite happy with how that came out. I coloured all three this way.

Lastly I used my old typewriter to type 'Autumn' three times. I cut the words in strips and glued one on each card. I doodled around the words with a black fine tipped pen.

And here they are, all finished. I did manage to make the background look a little better by using a Copic Marker that was darker than the Distress Ink I used and blending that out.

Now I can only hope that my trade partners in this ATC Swap will like their ATC's.

I used the follwowing stamps:

Woof

Hello everyone,

It is Stampotique Wednesday ! Yay... That means another challenge and this week it is the lovely Gez' turn to set the theme. She chose Blue and Brown and this is what she said:

"Blue and brown; One of my favourite colour combo's. I hope you have fun with it too!"

And fun I had making this art journal :

I started by painting this page and didn't like it... Painted it with gesso but still no good. So I glued some pages from an old comic on the pages and started again...
I painted the pages with gesso to soften the comic as it was very stark. I then used a Lindy's spray to make it blue; the right and left edges were done with a darker Lindy's spray. Next I used a stencil and some Art Anthology Sorbet paint to make the circles. After it dried I doodled around the circles with a black pen. I then started stamping the background. I used 'Heart Vine' around the edges with a light blue ink so it is very subtle and 'Fax to Wolgfang' with dark blue ink.
The doggies were next; I stamped them onto white card stock, coloured them and cut them out. I also stamped them on the pages to get every little detail of the image as it is sometimes impossible to cut out all the tiny bits. The 'woof' was also stamped on white card stock and cut out. The whole thing was them assembled.

I used the following stamps:

Come party with us !

Hello everyone,

The lovely Janet from Vera Lane Studios has a colouring competition on her FB page. She gave away a freebee postcard to colour and post on the FB page. Me being me, I couldn't resist to break the rules and made a journal page instead !

I started with making the background. I used a page out of my journal; I tore it out and put some model paste through a stencil on it and then gessoed it. Next I used my favourite Lindy's Stampgang sprays and created this pink and orange page. I glued some patterned paper on it and used my homemade stamps to create more interest. The result of the stamping is very subtle. I also used a bottle top and white and black paint to stamp the circles.
Next I took the postcard Janet gave us and coloured the girl and the cat with my Copic Markers, keeping to the same colours as I used for the background, just adding grey for the cat. I put the sentiment into a chipboard speech bubble..
I cut both figures out and adhered them to the page.
That was that !

Thank you for stopping by today.

I have to appologize for not being around so much lately. I am redecorating the house which needs painting top to bottom. I am about halfway I think. So bear with me, I will be back before you know it !

Prendre le temps

Hello everyone,

Today for my DT project for Katzelkraft I made an art journal.

This page was started with a gelli print. I added the clocks (KTZ30.01) around the edges by stamping them with Versamark and heat embossing them with cream embossing powder. I then stamped the background using a stamp from set KTZ142 and grey Archival ink. I also added a few doodle lines around the edges.
The grumpy penguins (KTZ145) were stamped on separate card stock, lightly coloured and cut out leaving a small white border around them. I then glued them on to the page.
The last thing I did was stamp the sentiment (KTZ30.01) which means 'take the time' as far as I know, cut it apart and glued it on to the page.

I used stamps from the following sets;

KTZ 145

KTZ30.01

KTZ142

Delight

Hello everyone,

and happy Stampotique day to you. Yes, it is time for yet another Challenge and this week Claudine is our hostess and she chose 'Birds & Bees' as her theme. This is what she said:

I just love anything to do with nature and specifically Birds and Bees. Let me see your best "bird and bee" project for this one.

So, birds and bees is what she shall have :

This is a piece of 8 x 8 pattern paper from Kaiserkraft. I started with a stencil and some model paste in two corners. I then painted the same two corners with ochre acrylic paint. When this was dry I spritzed some Lindy's Moonshadow spray on it and dried it again with a heat tool. I kept on spritzing and dripping until I was happy with the result.
Next I stamped 5 bees and 3 birds which I coloured and cut out. I also stamped 5 bees and 3 birds directly on the paper and the 5 bees on a piece of vellum. The coloured bees and birds were adhered on the ones that were stamped directly on the paper. Next I coloured the backside of the vellum wings with a pale blue Copic Maker and cut them out. Yes, just the wings. I then cut a slit on either side of the bees bodies and slid the wings into the slits. Next I took the whole piece to the sewing machine and sewed on the wings. I left all the threads on; this gives a nice old, worn effect I think. Lastly I adhered one of Tim Holtz chit chat stickers and put glossy accents onto the bees' bodies.

That was it, Here is a detail photo:

I used only two stamps for this

Why not get your stamps out and play along with us this week. You might win one of two $30 vouchers to spend in the Stampotique Online Shop. Just remember only one entry per person per challenge and NO digi's...

Thank you so much for stopping by today !

Don't forget to smile today !

Hello everyone,

Just a quick one from me today.. I had to use these stamps as they are so cute ! I mean the birds from Katzelkraft of course !! I've had them for a little while and it was time to make something with one of them... So, I made this postcard.

I found this background in my stash. It is basically just left over model paste that I scraped on with a palet knife. Over that I sprayed a Lindy's Stampgang spray, that's the green. The blue is left over Art Anthology Sorbet paint. It has a little bit of glitter in it. It's fab !
Anyway, I used a few Katzelkraft stamps on the background and them drew a line along the edge. Next I stamped this little bird, coloured him and cut him out. I glued him on the card and added some washi tape for him to stand on. I also put some of the same tape in the left hand top corner for continuity. The sentiment was typed on my old typewriter and cut into strips which were then adhered to the card. I doodled around them with a black pen.

Thank you so much for stopping by today !

Enjoy every moment

Hello everyone,

I won a stamp set last month playing in the Challenge over at Art Journey. Yay ! So I decided to play again and use it in this month's Challenge "Black and white" together with another one, also from Art Journey. Here is my card :

I choose the set "Grunge" as my prize and used it all over the background and the bottom. I used the flowers from the 'Nature Flowers' set for the thistles and also the sentiment. I did some dripping with water, white ink and black ink and went around the edges with a black ink pad. I matted it on to black card stock and then adhered the panel onto a white card.

Thank you so much for stopping by !

A postcard swap..

Hello everyone,

Over at the VivaLasVegaStamps! groupies FB page there is a 'fall, harvest, Halloween' type postcard swap. I decided to play.
The idea is to make 4 postcards, the same or different, use VLVS! Stamps, of course and adhere to the theme. I decided to go for a Halloween theme..

I used a brayer and Distress Inks to colour the card. Stamped the background and the cemetery and the skull. I put the skull in the bell jar by stamping it on acetate, cutting it out and adhering it onto the one I stamped on the card.

Here they all are. I hope that the recipients like them; they are on their way to DeeDee where one will stay in the store and three will be sent on to other participants in this swap !

Thanks you for stopping by today !

Fun, fun fun...

Hello everyone,

and happy Stampotique Wednesday. Yes, time for another challenge and this week it is Coby who chose the theme of 'tags' and this is what she said:

"I do love tags but I use them too often. So please show me a tag or a tag on your project".

Here's mine :

I painted this tag, that I cut out of white card stock, with turquoise and white acrylic paints. After it dried I glued on some book text and dry brushed it with white paint again. Next I used a green Big Brush Marker to get some green on there.
I used two script stamps to make the background a little more interesting. I used green Archival ink and VersaMark and white embossing powder for this. Looks pretty good I think. Next I stamped the circles with black Archival ink and doodled the lines around the tag.
Then the fun part began... I stamped the turtles on white card stock and coloured them with a mixture of Copic Markers and Polychomos coloured pencils. I cut them out and adhered them to the tag. Lastly I stamped the sentiment, cut it out and adhered it too. A few pieces of ribbon finished off this tag.
I hope you will play along with us this week. There are two $30 vouchers for the online store to be won. Just remember NO digi's and only one entry per person per challenge.

I used the following stamps:

Super freak

Hello everyone,

Today it is my turn on the VivaLasVegaStamps! blog. For this post I have made a postcard using my new paints... I really enjoyed making this..

I started out with a piece of white card stock which I painted with white gesso. After it dried I used a palet knife to scrape Art Anthology Sorbet paint over it. I used yellow, orange and pink. I had to put on two layers to cover all the white gesso. Next I got the gesso out again and scraped some over here and there, using the same palet knife. I also put some around the edges. I then used a stencil and some modelling paste to make the background more interesting. I coloured the stencilled dots with similar coloured inks and my fingers after it dried to make it blend in with the background. You can still see it although it is very subtle.
Next I randomly stamped the background. There is a list of all the stamps I used at the bottom of this post. Next I stamped the boy and the sentiment. The boy was coloured, cut out and clear embossed. The open letters of the sentiment were coloured in with a black marker and the edges of the strip of paper were inked with a black Archival ink pad.
Both the boy and the sentiment were then adhered to the card.

I used the following stamps:
