Delight

Hello everyone,

and happy Stampotique day to you. Yes, it is time for yet another Challenge and this week Claudine is our hostess and she chose 'Birds & Bees' as her theme. This is what she said:

I just love anything to do with nature and specifically Birds and Bees. Let me see your best "bird and bee" project for this one.

So, birds and bees is what she shall have :

This is a piece of 8 x 8 pattern paper from Kaiserkraft. I started with a stencil and some model paste in two corners. I then painted the same two corners with ochre acrylic paint. When this was dry I spritzed some Lindy's Moonshadow spray on it and dried it again with a heat tool. I kept on spritzing and dripping until I was happy with the result.
Next I stamped 5 bees and 3 birds which I coloured and cut out. I also stamped 5 bees and 3 birds directly on the paper and the 5 bees on a piece of vellum. The coloured bees and birds were adhered on the ones that were stamped directly on the paper. Next I coloured the backside of the vellum wings with a pale blue Copic Maker and cut them out. Yes, just the wings. I then cut a slit on either side of the bees bodies and slid the wings into the slits. Next I took the whole piece to the sewing machine and sewed on the wings. I left all the threads on; this gives a nice old, worn effect I think. Lastly I adhered one of Tim Holtz chit chat stickers and put glossy accents onto the bees' bodies.

That was it, Here is a detail photo:

I used only two stamps for this

Why not get your stamps out and play along with us this week. You might win one of two $30 vouchers to spend in the Stampotique Online Shop. Just remember only one entry per person per challenge and NO digi's...

Thank you so much for stopping by today !
