Today's Challenge was set by me and I would like you to use pink and orange in your background.
Now my mother used to tell me that orange and pink don't go together but because I am a rebel, I think they do !!!
So here is my project for this week :
I started with a piece of watercolour paper and sprayed it with Pink and Orange Dylusions Ink sprays. I did the ghosting technique with a stencil and then decided it was way too bright. So I dry brushed it with gesso; that was much better and you can still see the chevrons created with the ghosting. I used a stencil and pink and orange DI, and a harlequin stencil and gesso to create a bit more interest. The wonky rings were made with India Ink and a cookie cutter. I also used the India Ink to make some splatters. Lastly I used the 'Fax to Wolfgang' stamp and gray ink and I rubbed a black Archival Ink pad around the edges of the panel. I used two of the new release stamps, namely the barcode and the text above it. I stamped them on tissue paper and then adhered it to the panel because the watercolour paper has to much texture to stamp on properly.
'Little Hoo-hoo' was stamped on white paper, coloured and clear embossed. I cut him out and glued him on the panel above the barcode. Lastly I glued the panel on the card.
Thanks for stopping by !
Hope you like it.....
Corrie I love this.... I to used Dylusions spray inks for my background.
ReplyDeleteI love how your background has turned out the pink and orange look so good together .
Thanks for this challenge as I would never have put them together!
Love your card Corrie, such fun, and your Dylusion background is fabulous. I would never have put orange and pink together either, but you've won me over. Thanks for the challenge xx
ReplyDeleteGaaf dat jij ons mocht uitdagen! Heerlijke kleuren; lekker vrolijk! Ik vind de tegenstelling in deze stempel zo leuk! Mooi die ruiten op de achtergrond! Groetjes, Gerrina

ReplyDeleteThough somewhat fearful, I ended up loving your challenge, Corrie! I love your artwork here, too! I don't have Little Hoo-Hoo, but fall more in love each time I see it! Love that you are using that cookie cutter as a stamp (remind me to not eat cookies at your house!), as it is super cute!

Fabulous card and a fabulous challenge. I've loved these colours together for a while!! xx
ReplyDeleteHave to say, I never used to like pink much, and orange has always been my least favourite colour... but since I started crafting I've discovered that when you put the two of them together magic happens and I love them both! So I think this is a brilliant challenge theme, Corrie - do hope I'll have time to play along...
ReplyDeleteI love your card - a fabulous vivid background, and the shading on the monsters is wonderful!
