Wish

Hello fellow Crafters,

Today I went to the town to have lunch with my hubbie, so by the time we got back from a boozy lunch there wasn't that much time left to craft ! I managed to make this ATC.

I coloured the ATC with pink Distress paint. I made sure it wasn't a complete cover, leaving little spots white. I then rubbed it with distress ink in a darker pink which colours the little spots slightly darker so you get a mottled effect. I used a cap from a tube or something for the rings and when I started making the white dots I couldn't stop ! Little Gog Lin was stamped on white paper, coloured and clear embossed as was the Banner. Both stamps are from Stampotique Originals.  I only used a bit of that. I placed Gog  on a bit of washi tape and put a bit more tape at the top. The sentiment is a chit chat sticker from TH and I also had to do a bit of doodling around that ! That was it !

Thanks for stopping by !

Hope you like it….

Andy Warhol Inspired Art Journal

Hello fellow Crafters,

I made this Art Journal a while ago and thought I'd share it with you today. I was inspired by the Andy Warhol paintings of Marilyn Monroe. I used Stampotique's Bird Lady.

I stamped her 4 times and coloured her in Andy Warhol style. I used colour pencils. I added the polkadots to her dress. I doodled the black and white border around it and that was that. I glued the whole thing on pink tissue paper, then on music tissue paper and after that I glued it in my Art Journal.

Thank s for stopping by !

Hope you like it…..

Whatever...

Hello fellow Crafters,

I didn't have much time today but I managed to make this ATC:

I started with a white ATC which I coloured with Distress Ink in two shades of orange. I then dripped some water on it. I stamped Bla bla with white ink as a background. Unfortunately you can hardly see it. I also made some rings with white ink. The edges were distressed with black Archival Ink. I used the same ink to stamp the scalloped circles (cookie cutter).  I then put some partial rub ons on (Tim Holtz). I stamped Artichoke Monster (Stampotique) on white card, coloured him with alcohol markers, clear embossed him and glued him on the ATC after putting down some washi tape. The sentiment Whatever, is from Stampotique too. And that was that !
Thanks for stopping by !

Serendipity

Hello fellow Crafters,

I also made a tag today which I am entering into the Craftorij day 5 of the countdown and the Tag Along Challenge blog where anything goes this week.

I used a kraft tag. I stamped a TH butterfly on it with orange Archival Ink. The girl and the word serendipity are both from a TH stamp set as well. I aged the edges a little bit with Sepia Archival Ink and used some washi tape to sit the girl on and on some other places to blaa

Happy holidays..

Hello fellow Crafters,

This week, over at the Wicked Wednesday Challenge blog the theme is Happy Holidays.
I made this:

I used Distress Ink in the colour Broken China to colour the top of the ATC. I used the same ink to stamp the swirl.  I then went around the card with some black Archival ink. The girl is from Deep Red and was stamped on book text as was the sentiment. She was placed on a tiny bit of washi tape and the sentiment was cut out and glued on.

The Altered Hello was stamped directly on the card front. The rabbit was stamped on white card and coloured with alcohol markers and clear embossed. Lastly I placed the rabbit on the 'O' and that was it !

Wishing you a very merry Christmas !

Hello fellow Crafters,

Over at the Tag Along Blog, the Challenge this week is set by Donna and she chose Retro Christmas.
This is what I made:

I started with a #8 Manilla tag which I painted Ice Blue (PaperArtsy Fresco Paint). I distressed the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and splattered some white paint on it. The image I used came from the Graphics Fairy and I matted it on Kraft card stock. I also used Kraft to stamp my sentiment on in Versamark. I embossed it with white embossing powder. I then stamped some stars on the tag which I coloured in with a white paint pen. I used some jewels and punched out some hearts which I put in the top right corner as I felt it was a bit empty. I then doodled around everything with a black pen and matted the tag on some corrugated paper. A red ribbon finished it off. The quality of the picture is not brilliant. The girls face is not that red in real life.
Thanks for stopping by !!!

Fly

Hello fellow Crafters,

Today I made an ATC for Coby's Challenge on the Craftorij FB page.
She wanted us to use gold on our project. So here's what I made:

This ATC was started with gessoed book pages which were painted with gold acrylic paint that I rubbed off again in parts. I distressed the edges with Archival black ink and used rub ons (Tim Holtz) for the words. The feather stamp was a freebee with a magazine and the little elf is called Gog Lin and is from Stampotique.  I only got him this week. He is so cute….. You will find him HERE.

The feather and little Gog were stamped on white card, coloured with alcohol markers and clear embossed. That was it !

Thanks for stopping by !

Hope you like it ….

Ho Ho Ho

Hello fellow Crafters,

I made this tag for the third week of the Stampotique Designers Challenge. The theme is Anything goes and if you hop on over HERE  and have a go,  you can win yourself $ 30,-- of those lovely stamps !!!

I cut this tag out of green polka dot paper and used a bit of left over Christmas paper for the top and the bottom. I inked the edges with Peeled Paint Distress Ink. I then stamped 'Uncle Buck' on white card and coloured him as usual with watercolour pencils. He also got clear embossed. I cut his hat out of some red glitter paper and topped it with what is supposed to be a snowflake I think because it came in a pack of Christmas related bits for card making. The ho ho ho was made with sticky letters. Lastly I matted the tag on red card and put the green ribbon through the top.

Thanks for stopping by !

Hope you like it….

Shop till you drop !

Hello fellow Crafters,

I made this art journal page last week and it tells you what I did today.

The background was made with Pan Pastels. I then used Flying Heart (Stampotique) and a flower stencil to create some interest. With thinned down black paint I made the rings and the splatters. I changed Birdlady into Baglady. She was stamped on white card and coloured with watercolour pencils and a waterbrush. I had to draw the hat, boxes and bags because I didn't have any stamps. They were also coloured the same way. I used booktext for the little scalloped edge she's standing on and for the sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Mwah !

Hello fellow Crafters,

I made this card for the Stampotique Designers Challenge # 128, anything goes.

It is the first time my work is being showcased on the Stampotique blog, so very excited! If you want to take part in this challenge and have the chance of winning a $30,-- voucher for those nice stamps then go HERE
Here's how I made it : It is a 13 x 13 cm card. I started with cutting a 13 x 13 cm piece of cardstock and used a honeycomb stencil and model paste to create the texture. After it dried I coloured the whole thing with acrylic paint in naples yellow. I didn't like the effect so I went in with Pan Pastels in yellow. Orange and red; much better. I used the following Stampotique stamps:
Fax to Wolfgang was used for the background. I stamped bits of it with Archival Orange ink. Karin and the Flying Heart were both stamped on white cardstock and coloured with watercolour pencils and a water brush. I clear embossed them, put them on double sided tape and cut them out. I thought the flying hearts were too big so I decided to cut the wings off, sorry Roc..... I adhered them to the card and that was it !

Magical wings

Hello fellow Crafters,

After I did my Art Journal today I had a bit of time left so I thought I'd make an ATC :

I painted the card pink and clear embossed some harlequins on it. Went around the edges with black Archival Ink. The stamp I used is called Bird Lady and is from Stampotique. I stamped her on book text and then coloured her with colour pencils without water today. I clear embossed her and placed her on a bit of washi tape. I doodled around the harlequins a bit with a white paint pen. I then stamped 2 of the words on the Tall Word Collage, also Stampotique and cut them out and glued them down on the ATC. That was it.
Thanks for stopping by!

Hope you like it…..

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas..

Hello fellow Crafters,

Today I fancied doing an Art journal and enter that into the Stampotique Designers Challenge # 128 which has the theme: Anything goes. It is a month long challenge this time and I thought I go with the Christmas theme. At the end of it you can win yourself $30,-- worth of Stampotique stamps so why not hop over and have a look.
I made this :

I already painted this page last week. I had some tissue paper, stamped lots of letters on it and glued it onto this page. I then painted gesso over it and blue paint. You can still see the letters peek through here and there. I did some background stamping and used Stampotique's
The white stars were drawn by hand and coloured with a white paint pen, not sure I like them.
The Christmas tree was hand drawn on pattern paper and cut out and shaded a bit. For the little critters on the page I used
I stamped them all on white card and coloured them with watercolour pencils and a water brush. Also I clear embossed them. Hunk insisted on wearing his reindeer jumper for this occasion. The hats were drawn by me and coloured and embossed the same way. I then thought that Grandpa Hunk's painting needed to go up. I stamped Hunk again and gave him hair and a moustache.
It's a shame that you cannot see all these little detail on a photo.
The sentiment was stamped on book text and I also used some of this to ground everything on. Also used a bit of red and white polkadot washitape.
Thanks for stopping by !

Hope you like it…..

Stamp on something else….

Hello again, fellow Crafters,

Coby  is hosting another Stampotique Challenge over at the Craftorij Facebook page. The theme is : Stamp on something else. I had a little think about this and came up with this little box which turned out quite nice I think :

This box is made of thin wood and I painted it lightly with Gesso and then went over it with PaperArtsy Fresco paint in Ice Blue, my favourite colour for Christmas themed projects. I stamped the little angel, 'Daniel's Treetopper'  and the hearts, 'Daniel's Hearts'  on the lid and coloured them in with alcohol markers. I then put glitter glue on the wings of the angel and the hearts on the lid. The box itself I did differently because it wasn't straight. I stamped the hearts on tissue paper and then coloured them before glueing them in place with ModPodge. The words came from the 'Tall Word Collage' from Stampotique and were also stamped on tissue paper and glued on the box with ModPodge. I them destressed all the edges with black Archival ink and lastly gave the whole box a coat of matt varnish.

Thanks for stopping by !

Hope you like it…..

Baby, it's cold outside...

Hello fellow Crafters,

Today, at Mandy's Tag Along Challenge blog the theme is set by Carol and is 'Frosty the Snowman'.

So I got to work and came up with this :

This tag is really a tag shaped card and I thought I use one today, because I got a whole stack of them in the cupboard !! I started with white gesso and Ice Blue Paperartsy fresco paint and made it a bit blotchy. I then made my white paint pen drip to make snow flakes. In the Haloween goodies that I won in october was a little bag of sticky back canvasses and I used one today. I painted it with the same white and blue and after it dried I stamped Stampotique's 'Snowy Fran' on it with Archival Ink. I stamped her again on white paper and coloured and clear embossed her. I then cut her out without her arms and glued her on the stamped image on the canvas. I then tore strips from a brown paper bag and made ruffles to go behind the little canvas. I also added a little heart to hang off her arm. I then glued the whole thing on the tag. The sentiment was made with sticky letters and book text which I glued on more of the brown paper bag paper. I also doodled around the words with a red gel pen. I adhered the words to the tag and a bit of brown card stock as a mat and some red polkadot ribbon finished it off.

Thanks for stopping by !

Hope you like it…..

A charmed Christmas

Hello fellow Crafters,

This week, over at the Wicked Wednesday ATC blog, the theme is : a charmed Christmas. Before I forget, last week the theme was Friendship and I won ! Yeah !!! My prize was : 5 nice digital images !!
Anyway, this is what I made for this week :

I stamped a Dylusions stamp on the ATC with Versamark and white embossed this. I then used Chipped Saphire Distress Ink and a blending tool to colour the background. The little Father Christmas came from a really cheap bargain basement  stamp set. I coloured him with alcohol markers for his suit but used my favourite watercolour pencils for his face. He was then clear embossed. The words are Tim Holtz stickers and the little envelope is a metal charm. I put al little bow on it which I made with bakers twine.

Thanks for stopping by !

Hope you like it…..

Merry Christmas

Hello fellow Crafters,

Over at the Crafty Individuals blog The challenge is "Make something festive". So on this occasions I decided to go vintage. I think I was a little bit influenced by Lynne Moncrieff, who does vintage a lot better than me ! If you like vintage then go and have a look at her blog, her work is absolutely fantastic!!

Anyway this is what I made :

I don't own any Crafty Individuals Christmas stamps so I had to improvise. I started with a cream card base on which I glued some book text and some patterned paper. I did distress all the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. I then got a doily out, cut it in half and coloured it with Victorian velvet Distress Ink. I glued it on top of the book text and patterned paper. I then cut another bit of book text and adhered some dark red organza ribbon to it. It looks like pink here and that was the effect I was going for. The birdcage is a CI stamp and it was stamped in Versamark and embossed with cream embossing powder. I used an oval die and my cuttlebug to cut it out. I also cut out a bit more book text with a slightly bigger oval die. Before adhering these two ovals to the card I attached the lace ribbon on the right with staples. The sentiment came from a bargain basement stamp set and was stamped and embossed the same as the birdcage. Lastly I used the little bird stamp which came from the same CI set as the cage. I stamped him with black Archival ink and coloured him with Victorian Velvet Distress ink and a water brush. That's it !
Thanks for stopping by !

Mwah x

Hello fellow Crafters,

Today I made a card for the Challenge over at the Stamping Cottage
The theme is clean and simple, which is a challenge in itself for me ! Anyway I had a go and made this card :

I started with a white card and stamped the 'Flying Heart' three times. An then added the 'Mwah x'.
Both these stamps are from Stampotique Originals. I coloured them in with alcohol markers and watercolours pencils and that was that !

Thanks for stopping by !

Altered box

Hello fellow Crafters,

I fancied doing something different and I had an empty (chocolates) box lying around so I decided to change it into this :

This box measures 18 x 18 cm. I started by painting two layers of gesso on it. After that dried I painted it with PaperArtsy Fresco paint in Ice Blue.  I used the following stamps:
Ink & the dog, Vintage, ID01 from PaperArtsy
Mini MN 29 also from Paperartsy
The main image was stamped on tissue paper and then adhered to the box, the rest of the stamps were stamped straight on the box. I also made some circles with a top from an empty tube and some white gesso. I finished it off with some paper flowers which were distressed with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and one paper and one metal embellishment !
Thanks for stopping by!
Hope you like it ….

Naughty is the new nice….

Hello fellow Crafters,

I am still recovering from yesterday's excitement from the announcement that I will be on the Stampotique DT from the 1st of January. I would like to use this opportunity to thank everybody for their congratulations, support and good wishes !

When I was roaming the internet yesterday I came across another challenge and you all know how I love a challenge so I decided to go for it !
It is at the Artistic Stamper Blog HERE.  The theme is anything goes so I thought I stay in the Christmas spirit:

It is a number 8 tag which I painted with Paperartsy Fresco Paint in light blue. I smeared some white ink over it here and there and then embossed the stars with white & silver holographic embossing powder. Unfortunately you can't see the sparkle on the picture. I used washi tape here and there and the main image is Gooseneck, she is by Stampotique Originals. I changed her slightly by extending her stockings to the top and replacing her bow with a Christmas hat. The other images came from different bargain basement Christmas sets. The sentiment was made with a label machine. I matted the tag on black card stock and added a red and a black ribbon through the top.
Thanks for stopping by !

Hope you like it….

Live

Hello fellow Crafters,

This is my second post for today, yes I have been busy but I just love playing with paper, ink, stamps and paint.  I decided to make another tag :

I started this #8 tag a few days ago where I was experimenting with model paste. I smeared a layer over this tag and then used an old credit card to get some texture in it. I used the side and pressed it repeatedly into the model paste in two directions so it has a sort of woven effect if that makes any sense.
When this was dry I sprayed the whole thing with Dylusions in yellow, lime, turquoise and blue but I didn't like it so I sprayed it with water and dried it with a rag which removed most of the colour. I then used Distress Inks instead and added a bit of orange in a few places. I then dry brushed it with gesso. That looked better and I used some vintage photo to distress the tag a little. I then splattered black and white ink on it and stamped the circles using white gesso. The image is called Bird Lady and is by Stampotique. I stamped her, coloured her in the usual way and placed her on some dictionary paper with the word 'bird' just visible next to her head. I used some washi tape and lace to ground her. I matted the tag on turquoise card stock and finished it off with another bit of the same lace and the sticker in the left top corner.

Thanks for stopping by !!

Hope you like it…...

Best friends

Hello fellow Crafters,

I love taking part in challenges and because I love making ATC's I decided to make one for the Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge blog. The theme this week is friendship and here's what I made :

The ATC card was painted with Gesso and PaperArtsy Fresco Paint in light blue. I stamped the harlequins with white ink and then clear embossed them. This is a homemade stamp by the way, made from some foam that was used a packaging. I did some background stamping with dark blue ink and doodled a bit with white and black gel pens. The image is by Stampotique and is called the Tweedles.
I coloured them with watercolour pencils and a water brush and clear embossed them. I then placed them on double sided tape and cut them out. To make them neater I went around the cutting edge with a black marker. The sentiment is by Tim Holtz from his chit chat stickers. That't it !
Thanks for stopping by !

Hope you like it …..

Hearts

Hello fellow Crafters,

This week over at the Tag Along Challenge blog the theme is hearts and was set by Deborah.
This is what I made :

This is a #8 tag which I covered in model paste with a painters knife. I left it as I put it on because I liked the texture. With a pencil I scratched the heart in it very roughly. When it was dry I smooshed 3 different colours of Distress Ink pads on it, I used pink, orange and yellow. I rubbed the colours with a rag to soften them a bit and to make them blend. I then dry brushed some gold acrylic paint over it. It is a shame you can't see the true shimmer that put on it. I still thought the texture wasn't obvious enough so I took a brown Archival ink and rubbed it lightly over all that texture to make it stand out a bit more and that worked. I used the same ink pad to age the edges. I traced the heart with a black marker and put some rub ons on. Lastly I stamped the sentiment which is from Stampotique on book text, cut it apart and aged the edges and stuck it on the tag. The tag was matted on dar red card stock and a little bit of raffia in the same colour finished it off.

Thanks for stopping by !

Hope you like it.

Cards for mother

Hello fellow Crafters,

This week I have been busy making a few cards for my Mum for her to send to her friends and family. They are quite different from my usual stuff because my Mum is a bit more conservative than me. But I thought I share them with you all the same because I did enjoy making them.
Here they are :

They are all birthday cards and were made with different techniques. I used stamps, paint, patterned paper, washi tape, ribbon, embossing powder and did a bit of sewing on one of them.

Hello fellow Crafters,

Today I am showcasing these three projects because they are part of my application for a position on the VLVS! Design Team. I have only used two VLVStamps in these projects because I haven't got many (yet).
I would love to be part of the DT because I enjoy sharing my knowledge and art with others. I would also love the chance to work with more of those fabulous stamps !

'Tis the season….

Hello fellow Crafters,

Today is Wednesday and you guessed it Stampotique Challenge day! Now, if you have been reading my blogposts, you know I am totally addicted to these quirky stamps ! Anyway today's Challenge is set by Nellie and this is what she said :

"I always intent to start early making my Christmas cards. But real life often gets in the way and before I know it it’s the middle of December and my Christmas cards end up being either very simple and quick or bought in a shop. So I thought why not set a Stampotique challenge to make Christmas cards in November and force myself to really make and early start. So here is what I came up with. And of course I love to see your Christmas cards or other Christmas projects!"

I have made this :

This is a # 10 tag and it was gessoed and then painted with Paperartsy pale blue paint. After this dried I rubbed a white ink pad along the edges and stamped the snowflakes with Versamark and white embossed them. The image is called Are My Pants Too Tight and you can find him HERE. I coloured him with watercolour pencils and clear embossed him. I also stamped a little present, it is Christmas after all, on gessoed book text and coloured the ribbon. The scalloped bit of paper was cut out of the same gessoed book text as was the paper the sentiment is glued on. I did some dash lines with a black marker on both. I made the sentiment with sticky letters. Lastly I made his Christmas hat from the same book paper and a bit of red glitter paper. A bit of red ribbon and a staple finished it off.

Thanks for stopping by !
Hope you like it …..

You can't be sad...

Hello fellow Crafters,

Today I made an art journal. I enjoyed making the pink birthday card last week and decided to do an art journal with the same colours and techniques. This is it :

This is my Moleskine sketch book. I gessoed the page with Liquitex gesso which is a bit gritty and is a good base layer for Pan Pastels I find. I then used 2 shades of pink and then stamped the letters (Dylusions stamp) over the background with white ink. I also stamped a mini from Paperartsy which has numbers.  I then splattered some thinned black paint on the page and used a top from a toothpaste tube to make the circles. I used my Archival black ink pad to go around the edges of the pages. I then dug 'Miguel Has a Gift' by Stampotique out of the drawer an decided to replace his box with a cupcake! He was stamped on white paper and water coloured and clear embossed. I didn't have a cupcake stamp that was the right size so I drew one, coloured it the same way as Miguel and embossed it. I also stamped the middle bit of Miguel again so I could colour just the hands, cut them out and glue them around the cup cake.  Lastly I stamped the sentiment (from the internet) on some gessoed book text and glued it in place. Oh, and of course Miguel was placed on some washitape and I used a bit more of this here and there on the page to balance it.

Thanks for stopping by !

Hope you like it !

Twinkle, twinkle little star

Hello fellow Crafters,

Over at the Tag Along blog the theme this week is Ring a ding ding… lots of bling! So I sat down this afternoon and made this tag :

I coloured the tag with Pan Pastels and Distress inks after I put Gesso in it. I like the texture Gesso gives. I then stamped the swirls with Versamark and embossed them. I used silver holographic embossing powder which I mixed with blue glitter. Wasn't sure it would work but it did ! Yay…
I then randomly stamped some text on with blue Archival ink and glued the little blue jewels on. The white dots were made with a eraser on the end of a pencil and white ink.  I stamped the stars with Versamark on white cardstock and again embossed them, this time with just the silver holographic powder, cut them out and glued them on. I thought of the sentiment first and then my thoughts immediately went to Marci. As usual she was stamped on white paper, coloured with pencils and a water brush and clear embossed. Lastly I made the sentiment with Tim Holtz sticky letters and put the ribbon through.
Thanks for stopping by !
Hope you like it….

Happy birthday 2

Hello fellow Crafters,

This my second posting for today and the second card I made. I couldn't believe it took me most of the day to make these two cards. I am pleased I had a day to craft today though as I have had very little time lately because I was busy with all sorts of other things. My laptop packed up so I had to buy a new one and (with help of hubbie) had to get all my stuff from the old to the new one. All done now though.

Of course there was the new Stampotique Challenge yesterday. And this was it :

Today we are challenging you to use a SPLAT! of paint somewhere on your design. We all love to get messy once in awhile and this week is your perfect opportunity to throw on some grubby clothes and splatter that paint all over your creation.

Can't wait to see the splotches!

So I decided to make a birthday card and this is it :

This is also a 13 x 13 cm card as was the previous one. I put on gesso first and then Pan Pastels in 2 shades of pink. I did some background stamping and decided to use numbers today. Dylusions numberstamp with white ink and a Paperartsy mini in Stazon grey ink. I then thinned some black acrylic paint with water and splattered all over my card front. I also used a top from a tube and the same paint to stamp the circles. The little Sheep Monster was stamped on white card and as usual painted with watercolour pencils and clear embossed. I placed him on some washitape and decided to use a little more around the card to balance it a bit better. Lastly I stamped the sentiment on book text and glued it on.

Thanks for stopping by !

Hope you like it…….

Happy birthday 1

Hello fellow Crafters,

Today I made two birthday cards for two different challenges.
The first one is for Coby's Challenge over at the Craftorij FB page.

She wanted us to make something that was 'framed'. So I decided to do some doodling :

This is a square 13 x 13 cm card. I cut a bit of white card stock in this size and painted it with gesso and after it dried I coloured it with Pan Pastels in yellow and orange. I used a Paperartsy stamp to bring some interest to the background. I decided to use Stampotique's 'Miguel has a gift' as I thought this was quite appropriate for a birthday card. I stamped him on white paper and did my usual water colouring and clear embossing. I doodled the border with black and white pens. I then put on the sentiment which says "It's your birthday" and made the one for the inside (Congratulations)  the same way.

Sending buckets of love...

Hello fellow Crafters,

Today I made this little ATC for France Papillon, after reading her blogpost about the accident that happened to her 4 years ago. I was amazed at how she lives her life so positively after such a devastating accident.

The ATC was coloured with distress ink in Chipped Sapphire after stamping it with the dotted circles in Versamark ink and heat embossing it. I dripped some water on it to create little water stains. Shoogy Dog was stamped on white paper, lightly coloured and clear embossed. The sentiment came from a Simon Says Stamp Stamp set which came in their November Card kit which I won  !!!
Shoogy was put on some washi tape.
Thanks for stopping by !
Hope you like it .....
